The Snap n' sway, the squirm n' twist, the bangs flick, just a few of Jonny Pierce's signature dance moves. Pierce is a passionate vocalist. His dark romanticism transcends it's energy beyond the studio to the stage, emanating a one of kind experience. The Drums are at Bottom Lounge slashing the tally for times I’ve seen them perform. Each encounter unique and memorable. Their mantra remains, a duo confident in what they create and reflecting that during their live set. Drums unveiled their 3rd proper, “Encyclopedia” in September. I was eager to see how they would execute the synthy sometimes sci-fi moments from the latest record. Prior to showtime I scan the gear on stage, amidst the fog ambiance appears a giant box encased in wood. Later I realize it's a vintage synth with enough knobs you would need an array of tentacles to turn them all. Lights dim, crowd erupts. Out walks Jacob Graham along with the 3 other touring members of the band. No sign of Pierce. Graham fires up the synth box, opening the show with otherworldly dystopia track, “Bell Laboratories”. And heeeere's Jonny. Crowd loses it as he echos the lyrics “Get in the Car”. Seat belt fastened I'm ready to take this ride. Fascinated by how tight the backing band is, to learn the Drums catalogue and execute it to perfection is impressive. Especially with the faster and more intricate guitar riffs on the new record. Splitting the reps between the first two albums and Encyclopedia Drums play a satisfying set, with a handful of encores. Highlights being the starry “Me and the Moon”, “Let's go Surfing”, “I Hope Time Doesn't Change Him” and closing ballad “Down By The Water” From formation until now The Drums fan base has vastly grown. Since seeing them for the first time in 2010, where a handful of fans sang-along, fast forward 4 years to 2014 where everyone is now in harmony with one other thru the entire show. Although I cannot declare this the best Drums concert I’ve attended, it comes damn close.

It was difficult to know quite what to make of The Drums when they burst onto the scene with ‘Lets Go Surfing’ back in 2010; on the one hand, you could be forgiven for being cynical about a band who a) had barely any live experience before they were booked to open the NME Awards Tour and b) appeared so in thrall to obvious California surf-pop influences - The Beach Boys, especially - that it was difficult to discern whether there was so much as a shred of originality to their work. To their credit, though, they quickly reached the stage where they were headlining the kinds of venues that they’d been opening at just months earlier; they might not be stylistic trail blazers, but a considerable live following will have had no hesitation in telling you that they were plenty of fun, delivering quickfire, high-energy sets that fizzed with the kind of youthful vigour that their music was so concerned with. Expect them to make a live comeback before long, too, with another record in the works and a new single, ‘Magic Mountain’, having just been announced; after their last album, Portamento, flew under the radar, that new single suggests that they’re returning to the sound of their debut.

IT WAS AMAZING. My first concert ever and I'm so glad it was them, they were amazing. They did amazing and Jonny held my hand!!! So many people were crowd surfing and you'd be getting mashed by everyone around you and people would land on you and you'd have to catch them, but I was ok with it because it was so fun and just felt so good in the moment. Day after I'm pretty sore, but super satisfied. If you're claustrophobic hide in the corner because no one was afraid of space in there. Both the drums and froth did an amazing job, thanks!!

Johnny was very good last night at the Metro in Chicago. The crowd was there to hear some of the new songs and he played 4 of them. He threw in some of the best songs from the past and finished strong. JP was a bit more laid back than usual and actually looked happy. The bowl haircut was very short and his outfit was subdued...I would have liked to see more swagger and swaying but all in all it was better than most concerts. The Drums are still on top of the alternative music food chain.

It had been 3yrs since I saw The Drums live and I could not have asked for a greater show! Their performance at Scala in London was nothing short of amazing. The setlist was a perfect blend of tracks from the new album and old fan faves at some point the audience singing even louder than Johnny himself. Lead singer from the opening band Beverly joined in for Don't Be A Jerk which was great. If they are playing near you I highly recommend checking them out. You will not be disappointed!

The Drums were SUPERB live! The band sounded great, and they knew exactly what the crowd wanted to hear. You couldn't help but move and dance to their music. Light show went perfectly with the music. Loved the dance moves and energy of Johnny, the lead singer. They came out for an encore and also played a few unplanned songs for the SF fans. Wow! Thank you for coming to the Bay! It was an unforgettable night - one of the best shows my boyfriend and I have ever been too!

The gig was incredible! The crowd had so much energy and it was because of how great The Drums were. They played a perfect mixture of new and older stuff, as well as a bit of chatting to the crowd. Most importantly, the live music sounded even better than their studio records. Definitely one of the best gigs I've ever been to! They were incredible and the venue was great.

I've been to quite a few concerts, and seeing The Drums was honestly by favorite. Since they are a small band, you know everyone there genuinely cares about them, and it creates such a great atmosphere. Even though they lost two members, I think they're still great. They are so energetic and I loved every moment I was there.

Great show, great dancing. A lot of honesty in his speech and performance. Well worth going to see and looked genuinely taken aback by the crowd in Whelans. Never saw them before but would definitely go back if given the slightest chance. All round good night.

News: The Drums Announce Australian Summer Tour

the drums summer tour

(AUS ) Laneway Presents has confirmed that Brooklyn outfit, The Drums, are set to return to Australia. Having undergone lineup changes, critical acclaim, worldwide touring and a whirlwind career, their return comes off the back of their latest offering, Encyclopedia.

The Drums will play at The Hi-Fi in Brisbane on Saturday 29th November, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Sunday 30th November and The Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Tuesday 2nd December.

Along with today’s announcement is the worldwide exclusive premier, through Noisey.com , of their latest clip for second single ‘I Can’t Pretend’, a steadily-paced effort, relatively direct in structure, leaving no doubt that the emotions underpinning every word are genuine. You can watch the clip here .

To love The Drums is to love contradictions, and Encyclopedia only further explores this notion. Whilst retaining the perfectly executed surf-pop sound of its predecessors, celebrating the kind of nostalgic indie-pop that makes people want to jump for joy – it also offers a sound paradoxically melancholic. The album explores a shadowy maturity through their signature infectious pop oscillations, seeing maudlin lyrics brought to life by the group’s familiar doo-wop-pop. The listener is taken into an embrace of warm mellow melodies teamed with faintly nourish lyrics. “We were feeling very angry, confused, and alone when we made this album, and we wanted to be very honest this time around, even if being honest meant making some people uncomfortable. We’ve left the beach for higher ground, always searching for hope,” says Jonny.

With Encyclopedia, The Drums have become experts of themselves, inching ever closer to perfection even as it scurries around the next corner. Reduced to their essence again, Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham have never known themselves better and song after song resounds with this new confidence. And, of course, the beauty of it is that it also sounds as if it could all come crashing down in a light breeze.

Additional dates will be announced soon.

A ticket pre-sale lottery for all newly announced dates begins today at 12 noon (ET) and will continue through Saturday, February 10, at 5pm ET. VIP and Travel Package pre-sales begin Wednesday, February 7 at 10 am (local). Lottery winners will be charged and notified via email by the evening of Thursday, February 15. Public on-sales are set to begin Friday, February 16 at 10am (local). One dollar for each ticket sold will be donated to Greenpeace, a global network of independent campaigning organizations that is committed to transforming the country’s unjust social, environmental, and economic systems from the ground up to address the climate crisis, safeguard our planet for future generations, advance racial justice, and build an economy that puts people over profits.

Today, Goose released Ted Tapes 2024, an album comprised of instrumental improvisations captured during Ellis’s auditions on drums. Ted Tapes 2024 is available now.

LISTEN TO TED TAPES 2024

“I first saw Cotter play with his band Swimmer at Nectar’s some years ago,” says Rick Mitarotonda. “I was sitting solo at one of the bar tables right in front of the stage with the PA ripping. The set was awesome, they’re all fantastic players and I was taken with the buoyant energy and how much fun they were having. Something had me glued to the drums though. His pocket and feel were gripping. He really told a story with his playing that night. It was an experience that always stuck with me.

“These Ted Tapes tracks are improvisational moments from the first few sessions with Cotter, recorded solely for the purpose of reference, not intended for any kind of release. The instruments and microphones were rigged up quickly, and the playing was raw and free from any expectations. The first track, “Leo,” is the opening pick up jam from the first session, the first notes ever played together. There were some consistent threads we all felt in the room throughout these early sessions; ease of communication, freely flowing ideas, and a feeling of effortlessness moving through different zones. We experienced a patience that allowed all of our personalities to come out and energy to well up in new ways. It feels like a door just beginning to open. We couldn’t be more stoked for what’s to come.”

“I’ve known Cotter for over 10 years,” continues Peter Anspach. “Our two bands Great Blue and Swimmer were coming up in the scene at the same time and played countless shows together. At one particular gig, I told Cotter, ‘Hey man, I would love to play in a band with you someday.’ I couldn’t be more excited for that day to have finally come. He has always been an inspirational musician for me. From his deep pocket and feel to his hilarious antics, I’ve always seen him as a stand-out person and look forward to having him as a bandmate. Getting to play and hang with him during this process has been enlightening. He has already brought so much energy and depth to the music , I can’t wait to share it with our entire Goose family. Playing with him feels effortless and allows for deep relaxation in which to explore improvisationally. I am so proud of the recordings we have captured so far. They demonstrate so many different styles and really have inspired me over the last month as we have put the album together. I really hope everyone enjoys that journey as much as we did. We can’t wait for the first shows back.”

Goose will also headline an array of upcoming festivals, including Chillicothe, IL’s Summer Camp Presents Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie (May 24-26) and Swanzey, NH’s Northlands Music & Arts Festival (June 14-15).

ABOUT GOOSE:

Goose released their debut album in 2016 and quickly took flight, playing countless shows while steadily amassing a fervent fan following for their unique brand of irresistible songcraft, fluid musicianship, and spirited improvisational performance. 2022 proved a career-defining year for the Connecticut-based quintet with their critically acclaimed third studio album, Dripfield. Fueled by such hypnotic tracks as “Hungersite” (which spent multiple weeks among the top 10 at Triple A radio outlets nationwide), the album proved a phenomenon, debuting at #2 on Billboard’s “Top New Artist Albums” chart amidst critical applause from such national outlets as Rolling Stone, which hailed it as “both sweet headphone ear candy and the foundation for a perfect live peak.”

Known for their exuberant grooves and incendiary bursts of musical exploration, Goose has spent much of the past decade on a seemingly infinite tour schedule that includes sold-out headline shows at such renowned venues as Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Nashville, TN’s Ryman Auditorium, and New York City’s hallowed Radio City Music Hall; a sold-out co-headline run alongside Trey Anastasio Band; a sold-out EU/UK headline tour, and show-stealing appearances at such festivals as Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Electric Forest, and Dead & Company’s Playing In The Sand in Riviera Cancun, MX. Recent highlights also include a sold-out, five-night run at Port Chester, NY’s historic Capitol Theater and 2023’s 10th annual Goosemas holiday celebration at Hampton, VA’s famed Hampton Coliseum, as well as TV performances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CBS Saturday Morning.

Goose are: Rick Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keys, guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass), Jeff Arevalo (vocals, percussion, drums), Cotter Ellis (drums)

Highlights: 2024 Drum Corps International Tour Schedule

by Jeff Griffith

Slated to begin on Wednesday, June 26 and feature more than 90 events across more than 30 states, the 2024 Drum Corps International Summer Tour schedule has arrived.

With a handful of exciting new venues and many familiar locations as well, plus the addition of corps from DCI’s newest All-Age classification in the mix, here’s a quick look at some of the highlights to look out for on the 2024 DCI Tour.

“As corps across the country begin the audition and rehearsal portion of their annual operational cycles, the planning process for the 2024 Summer Tour is already coming into sharp focus,” said Dan Acheson, DCI CEO. “The event operations team, our box office staff and our corps housing coordinators are busy at work, ensuring that everyone enjoys a great experience at each and every Drum Corps International Tour event.”

READ: Piecing it together: Behind the scenes of scheduling the DCI Tour

First Steps

2023 Boston Crusaders

The 2024 DCI Tour will kick off like it did in 2023.

Michigan’s Rockford High School will play host to the DCI Midwest Premiere, Wednesday, June 26, which will feature five of 2023’s World Championship finalist corps — Boston Crusaders, Phantom Regiment, The Cavaliers, Colts, and Blue Stars.

That same group of finalists, plus the 2023 bronze medalist Carolina Crown, will then converge Friday, June 28 in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State University’s Scheumann Stadium, for DCI Central Indiana, an annual staple of the opening week of the DCI Tour.

DCI’s West Coast corps will kick off a full weekend of southern California events in the San Diego (June 28) and Los Angeles (June 29) areas before rounding out their weekend in San Bernardino (June 30).

New and Noteworthy

2023 Seattle Cascades

As the 2024 DCI Tour makes its initial turn into July, many individual corps’ summer seasons kick off across the country ahead of a busy Independence Day weekend. July 5-7 features an impressive 10 events in total, which will put 30 different corps active across the map.

The introduction of one of a handful of new venues to the DCI Tour will serve as a highlight of a jam-packed second weekend, as six corps march to the southeast coast for a new South Carolina event on Friday, July 5.

Early July will also feature the DCI Tour’s return to the Pacific Northwest region for a series of four events, three of which will be hosted by the Seattle Cascades.

READ: Cascades, Columbians will help the 2024 DCI Tour return to the Pacific Northwest

Throughout the first weeks of July, key events in Stanford, California (July 6), Lexington, South Carolina (July 6), Sevierville, Tennessee (July 8), Utah (July 10), Tupelo, Mississippi (July 11), and more will lead into one of the busiest days of the summer.

That jam-packed day, Saturday, July 13, will serve as a stepping stone toward the summer’s marquee “regional” events, and features 34 corps across DCI’s World, Open and All-Age divisions, performing in five different cities — Fort Collins, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; Clifton, New Jersey; Vista, California; and a location in Northern Illinois.

Another debut event on the 2024 DCI Tour coming to Hutchinson, Kansas — well-known among drum corps fans as the home of the Sky Ryders in the ‘70s and ‘80s — will play host to a July 16 event. Also that day, be on the lookout for DCI Broken Arrow in Oklahoma. This event will feature the very first head-to-head meeting of 2023’s gold, silver and bronze medalists, Blue Devils, Bluecoats and Carolina Crown, as corps make their way into the Southwestern United States.

2023 Alamodome

One of the marching music activity’s hotbeds will once again host a slew of DCI Tour events.

Commonly known as the “Texas Tour,” an eight-day trip through the Lone Star State will begin in Canyon (July 15), before running through Abilene (July 16), the Waco area (July 18), Denton (July 18) and Houston (July 19).

The DCI Southwestern Championship in San Antonio, Texas (July 20) — the largest event of the summer outside of the DCI World Championships — will serve as the Texas Tour’s cornerstone event. Returning to the San Antonio lineup for the first time since 2019 will be Camden County, New Jersey’s Jersey Surf, which means the full complement of DCI’s World Class corps will face off under the roof of the Alamodome, giving fans a chance to see how everyone stacks up competitively coming into the back-half of the season.

Events in Mesquite (July 22) and McKinney (July 23) will round out 2024’s Texas series.

The Texas swing serves as the precursor to key late-summer events, including the DCI Southeastern Championship in Atlanta (July 27) and NightBEAT in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (July 28).

One of the longest-standing stops on the DCI Tour is the DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which will once again feature all of DCI’s World Class corps over two nights of competition, Friday August 2 and Saturday, August 3. Two-night ticket packages to the Allentown series are now on sale for a limited time only.

PURCHASE TWO-NIGHT TICKET PACKAGES TO THE 2023 DCI EASTERN CLASSIC

All-Age Additions

2023 Reading Buccaneers

As 2024 marks the flagship season of DCI All-Age competition, a classification dedicated to the weekend-only, all-age brand of drum corps previously organized under Drum Corps Associates (DCA), the 2024 DCI Tour will feature a number of events under the All-Age heading.

WATCH: The next chapter: DCA to DCI All-Age

New all-age-centric events will also give additional performance opportunities to other ensembles. Saturday, June 29’s event hosted by the Connecticut Hurricanes, for example, will feature DCI All-Age corps, plus New England Open Class corps Spartans and 7th Regiment. The August 4 event in Reading, Pennsylvania, hosted by the defending all-age champion Reading Buccaneers will additionally feature the Boston Crusaders, Crossmen, Madison Scouts and Jersey Surf.

Another highlight of the 2024 DCI Tour will include a new event on August 3 in Rochester, New York — which has previously served as home to the DCA World Championships — that will feature ann 11-corps lineup including the all-age Bushwackers, Hurricanes, Rogues Hollow Regiment, Skyliners and White Sabers along with World Class corps like The Cavaliers, Colts and Blue Knights.

“Being able to add performance opportunities for the all-age corps on this year’s tour is an exciting endeavor,” said Sue Kuehnhold, DCI senior director of ensemble services. “It’s also exciting for us to be able to work World and Open Class corps and SoundSport teams into these event lineups to create some different experiences not only for participants on the tour, but also for our fans as well.”

The DCI All-Age season will culminate at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium, for the inaugural DCI All-Age World Championship Finals the morning of Saturday, August 10.

World Championships Week

2023 Finals

The DCI World Championships will once again take over the state of Indiana the second week of August for the culmination of the 2024 DCI Summer Tour.

“Finals Week” will kick off in Marion, Indiana, on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University, for the DCI Open Class World Championships, August 5-6.

After the crowning of the Open Class World Champion, the scene will shift to Indianapolis for three days of DCI World Championship competition, August 8-10.

Of course, though, World Championships Week in the Circle City isn’t just about the competition at Lucas Oil Stadium.

An event geared toward spotlighting the importance of music in schools, the fourth-annual “Shining a Light on Music Education” will bring together many of DCI’s corps, SoundSport ensembles, and local performing acts for a festival-style event on Indianapolis’ Monument Circle the evening of Friday, August 9.

HIGHLIGHTS: Shining a Light on Music Education 2023

Saturday, August 10, will also feature the aforementioned first-ever DCI All-Age Finals, before the summer’s culminating event, the DCI World Championship Finals. The same day, the SoundSport International Music and Food Festival will return to the Indiana Convention Center for its eighth iteration, featuring an array of food trucks, exhibitors and diverse performances on DCI’s all-inclusive SoundSport platform.

Mega Monday

A winter tradition, Drum Corps International’s “Mega Monday” will mark the start of tickets going on sale to a number of the most popular events of the 2024 DCI Summer Tour.

Notify me when 2024 Mega Monday tickets go on sale

The 2024 edition of Mega Monday, set for Monday, December 4, will include such favorites as the DCI Southeastern Championship in Atlanta, DCI West in Stanford, and single-night tickets to the DCI World Championships in Marion, Indiana and Indianapolis as well as the DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Rock trailblazer Heart reunites for a world tour and a new song

NEW YORK — Heart — the pioneering band that melds Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar with her sister Ann’s powerhouse vocals — is hitting the road this spring and fall for a world tour that Nancy Wilson describes as “the full-on rocker size.”

“I’ve been strengthening. I’ve got my trainer,” she says. “You go one day at a time and you strengthen one workout session at a time. It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only job I know how to do.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who gave us classic tracks like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You” and “Alone” will be playing all the hits, some tracks from of their solo albums — like Ann Wilson’s “Miss One and Only” and Nancy Wilson’s “Love Mistake” — and a new song called “Roll the Dice.”

“I like to say we have really good problems because the problem we have is to choose between a bunch of different, really cool songs that people love already,” says Nancy Wilson.

Like “Barracuda,” a sonic burst which first appeared on the band’s second album, “Little Queen” and is one of the band’s most memorable songs.

“You can’t mess with ‘Barracuda.’ It’s just the way it is. It is great. You get on the horse and you ride. It’s a galloping steed of a ride to go on. And for everybody, including the band.”

The tour kicks off Saturday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, and will hit cities including Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. International dates include stops in London, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, Montreal and Glasgow.

The band’s Royal Flush Tour will have Cheap Trick as the opening act for many stops, but Def Leppard and Journey will join for three stadium dates in Cleveland, Toronto and Boston this summer.

Ann and Nancy Wilson will be filled out by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and backing vocals) and Sean T. Lane (drums).

The tour is the first in several years for Heart, which was rocked by a body blow in 2016 when Ann Wilson’s husband was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons. Nancy Wilson says that’s all in the past.

“We can take any kind of turbulence, me and Ann, and we’ve always been OK together,” she says. “We’re still steering the ship and happy to do it together. So we’re tight.”

The new tour will take them to Canada, which was warm to the band when they were starting out as what Nancy Wilson calls “a couple of chicks from Seattle.” She recalls Vancouver embracing Heart, and touring in one van across Canada in the dead of winter on two lane highways.

The Wilson sisters broke rock’s glass ceiling in the ‘70s and Nancy Wilson says they only had male influences to look to, like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Now she says she looks out and loves seeing generations of female rockers. “You have boygenius and you have Billie Eilish and you have Olivia Rodrigo and so many amazing women — Maggie Rogers and Sheryl Crow, who calls us her big influence. And then Billie Eilish might have Sheryl Crow as her influence. So it’s a really nice legacy to pass along. I like to say we’re the OG — the original gangsters — of women and rock.”

Heart has made it into the Rock Hall, won Grammys, sold millions of albums and rocked hundreds of thousands of fans but Nancy Wilson has one place she’d still like to shine.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of their debut album, “Dreamboat Annie,” which was the same year that “Saturday Night Live” started. “So we’re actually kind of putting it out there — Heart never played on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ But what about the 50th birthday party with Heart?”

NEW YORK – Heart — the pioneering band that melds Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar with her sister Ann’s powerhouse vocals — is hitting the road this spring and fall for a world tour that Nancy Wilson describes as “the full-on rocker size.”

“I’ve been strengthening. I’ve got my trainer,” she says. “You go one day at a time and you strengthen one workout session at a time. It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only job I know how to do.”

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Rickie Fowler, wife Allison announce baby No. 2 arriving this summer

Change Text Size

The Fowler foursome is upon us.

Rickie Fowler and his wife Allison are expecting their second child this summer, Fowler announced Tuesday on Instagram. The couple’s first daughter, 2-year-old Maya, was born on Nov. 18, 2021. The second baby’s due date is Aug. 4, Fowler told Golfweek.

“Maya with shoes ready for her baby sister…we’re excited to be a foursome later this summer!” Fowler wrote in an Instagram caption. The accompanying photo showed him smiling with Allison and Maya, both in matching Masters white caddie jumpsuits.

Maya Fowler stole the show at last week’s Masters Par 3 Contest (alongside Jordan Spieth’s son Sammy), frolicking in the fairways and getting acclimated to the bunker rake – perhaps foreshadowing a future caddying gig for her dad? Fowler proceeded to win the Par 3 Contest amidst the feel-good vibes.

“Been around plenty of the little kids over the years, but a little different when we have our own out there,” Fowler said. “So special way for us first time having my daughter with my wife and I, and something we'll always have.”

Maya Fowler and Sammy Spieth were born four days apart and are “basically best friends,” Fowler said at the Masters Par 3 Contest. Hence the victory wasn’t the best part of that day at Augusta National, Fowler expressed – it was seeing his daughter spend time with a friend.

With Scottie and Meredith Scheffler expecting their first child in the coming weeks, the Fowlers’ second child will have another natural playmate as well.

Fowler snapped a four-year winless drought with a victory at last summer’s Rocket Mortgage Classic, his first TOUR title as a dad. That allowed for a celebration with Maya that he’ll always cherish.

“To finally get one finished off, Maya may or may not really ever remember it, but at least we'll have some special images to help her remember today,” Fowler said at the time.

Future wins will come as a family of four.
