Take a guided Duck ride of the Lower Dells aboard a Original World War II-era Dells Army Duck! The Ducks have been one of Wisconsin Dells’ most popular Wisconsin Dells attraction for 70+ years , and they provide a sightseeing experience unlike any other. Discover sandstone rock formations that are over 14,000 years old such as Grotto Island, the Twin Ink Stands, Sugar Bowl, and Lone Rock. Two Splash Downs into Sasquatch Lake and use the Duck’s six-wheel drive capabilities to traverse Dell Creek. Our 55 minute, land-and-water Duck rides has been the most unique and original way to experience the Wisconsin Dells for over 70 years.
The Dells were created at the end of the last glacial period from the flood waters of the Wisconsin River ripping through soft sandstone that was once the floor of a prehistoric sea. The raging river managed to carve the gorges, caves, rocky islands and towering cliffs which would come to be admired for centuries. Visitors have been coming to the Wisconsin Dells to take-in the natural wonders for generations, and a guided boat tour aboard one of our amphibious Ducks provides an experience your family won’t soon forget!
During the summer months, Dells Army Ducks depart every 30 minutes daily for a 55 minute duck boat tour . All duck boat tours are guided through the Lower Dells of the Wisconsin River, exposing you up close to one-of-a-kind rock formations. Visit our Photo Gallery to see historic photos and tour images. It’s fun, entertaining and a must-do when visiting Wisconsin Dells!

Take a guided tour of the Lower Dells Glacial Park aboard a World War II-era Army Duck! Discover sandstone rock formations that are over 14,000 years old such as Grotto Island, the Twin Ink Stands, Sugar Bowl Island, and the Wedding Bell. Cruise through beautiful Lake Delton and use the Duck's six-wheel drive capabilities to traverse Dell Creek. Our one-hour, land-and-water excursion has been the most unique way to experience the Dells for over 70 years. The Dells were created toward the end of the last glacial period from the flood waters of the Wisconsin River ripping through the Dells' soft sandstone. The raging river managed to carve gorges and caves, rocky islands and towering cliffs, which would come to be admired for centuries. H.H. Bennett was one of the first explorers on the Wisconsin River to document the grandeur of the Dells in the 1860's, and our tours allow you a glimpse of the same landscape he first fell in love with over 150 years ago. During the summer months, Dells Army Ducks depart every 15-20 minutes daily for a one-hour boat tour. All tours are guided through Lake Delton and Dells Glacial Park exposing you up close to one-of-a-kind rock formations. It's fun, entertaining and a must-do when visiting Wisconsin Dells! …

This is my first time in a long time on one of these historic vehicles. They have an ample parking lot, which is free, for you to park and when you first arrive, you either buy your tickets or pick up your tickets that you purchased on-line at the ticket booth. They have a little tiki bar with bar seating and tables and chairs that is located right outside of the souvenir shop and zipline equipment shed that offers tropical frozen drinks and kid's slushies in souvenir cups. You can hang out there before or after your tour. I hung out there before I got in the line for the duck. This is their most flexible ride when it comes to scheduling. They had one leaving at least every 30 minutes when I was there. The ride is on a WWII ear amphibious duck vessel. The tour lasts about 30 minutes or so. Our tour guide, Audra, was very informative, friendly and had an awesome sense of humor. You could tell that this was not her first rodeo. You get a little bit of a history lesson during the tour and go from land to water, to land, to water, and end up on land thankfully. To be more specific they take you across one of the rivers on their property on a road, into a larger river, past a beach, under a bridge, and back on land where you then return to base. The seats are a bit cramped, worse than an old school bus. Even though you are in and out of the water, you should not get wet. I must admit that even with the awesome entertainment and wit provided by Audra, it was not a very exciting excursion and I found it kind of boring near the end. When you get off of your duck, they will offer to sell you some photos that they took of you against a green screen before you got in line to start your tour. There is no pressure to buy the pictures and you can just leave. I would suggest having some cash available to tip your guide if you so choose. The guide/driver also sells post cards and duck whistles at the end of the tour that kind of doubles as a tip, as well. All-in all, something neat, unique and different to do. This company is top notch and offers bundles with some of their other attractions including zip lining, jet boat, and ropes course. Even though I found it a bit sleepy, my little and I have another memory that will last us a life time.
The tour itself was alright. I wish they didn't make their guides to beg for tips though and just pay them appropriately. Be aware of their deceptive price practices at the refreshments tiki bar. There's no prices advertised on the menu. So, once you get the drinks for your party, you face a ridiculous bill and it's late to return them at this moment as they are already made and given to kids. Kids ICEEs ended up being $16 each, to a total of $48 for three that we got. My wife's drink alone was charged at $35. Mind blowing! Destroyed the whole experience with the actual trip. Would be great to fine this business for deceptive price practices by complaining to FTC. I hope they respond and act on this. They can charge whatever they want if advertised, but hiding their pricing and then force you to pay is illegal!
We had a blast with Tygh as our driver. Mom and dad were entertained by the fun and historic facts and comic relief while our toddler LOVED the splash downs! Highly recommended while you're in the Dells and ask for Tygh.
Went today with my brothers and boyfriend and we all enjoyed it, our guide Jack M was super funny and def has his jokes down. The ride itself was very interesting and the scenery was beautiful, I highly recommend
We went on the jet boat tour with Captin Martini. There were only 5 of us on the boat. We were asked on a scale of 1/10 how wet we wanted to get. We all went for 10! Let me tell you the ride was fast, exciting and wet!!! We were dreanched down to our socks and underwear!! Captin Martini was both funny and threw in historic facts! We highly recommend doing the jet boat. Its a very powerful boat and we didnt even reach its top limit! Only thing is do the tour on a HOT day because you will get WET!!! Asha
The Duck tour was awesome. Fun and informative Make sure you ask for Tsunami Seth he was hilarious and made the ride very interesting! Fun for all ages, a must visit!
Tygh was the best duck boat driver and tour guide! He had us cracking up with his jokes and made the tour exciting in addition to all the information he shared with us. Highly recommend him and the entire company!
Great opportunity to tour the Dells, Lake Delton, and Wisconsin river in a unique vehicle. The abililty to take great landscape and nature photos is worth the price of the tour alone. The guide on my tour was very knowledgeable and hilarious -- as well as helpful with answering questions and helping with pictures.
