This self-drive package starts at 10 am for a tour at Wooden Boat Centre, Franklin, lunch at Franks Cider House and Café across the road then a wine tasting at Heriots Point Vineyard, Castle Forbes Bay a short drive from Franklin and to end the day, a Relaxing Afternoon River Cruise with Huon River Cruises finishing at 3:30pm. A Fantastic short day trip to the Huon Valley, great for the whole family.

 This is the cruise you are after..indoor cabin with room for 12 comfortably. Leaving from a private dock nestled in a vineyard you are enveloped in the most beautiful landscape.Truly a good introduction to the Huon River with wonderful hospitality on board.

 The morning tea cruise along the beautiful Huon river in a grand old timber vessel called Ladrone (circa 1948). Skipper Taylor provided expert commentary and interesting anecdotes of the history and life along the river, as well as fresh scones with jam and cream all locally sourced. Coffee and tea also provided. This is an experience not to be missed.

Iron Pot Cruises offers a Derwent River cruise from Hobart to see Australia’s oldest lighthouse and the sea birds of Betsey Island.

Hobart may be on the Derwent River, but the Tasmanian capital is a city tied to the sea. The best way of discovering the city’s maritime history is on a cruise exploring the waterways.

Iron Pot Cruises runs a two-and-a-half-hour Derwent River cruise from Hobart. In a small boat holding up to 12 passengers, the cruise travels down the Derwent River. The enclosed cabins have large windows to allow for better views.

Iron Pot Cruises from Hobart

The Iron Pot Cruises tour heads towards Iron Pot, Australia’s oldest lighthouse. On the way, it goes past Battery Point – home to some of the most expensive houses in Tasmania . It also passes the Wrest Point Casino and the Shot Tower. There’s a chance to truly appreciate how Mount Wellington looms over Hobart, too.

Once at Iron Pot, the tour guide tells tales of the colonial era in Hobart and how what happened in the early settlement years still has an impact on the city today.

After visiting Australia’s oldest lighthouse, the Derwent River cruise from Hobart moves into Storm Bay, home of surf spot Clifton Beach . Here, the main attraction is Betsey Island, an uninhabited island home to hundreds of seabirds. There’s a good chance of seeing a white-bellied sea eagle, while you’re pretty much guaranteed to spot gulls and cormorants.

Hobart boat trips: Hope Beach on Betsey Island

The boat tour circumnavigates Betsey Island in order to see Hope Beach. Notorious for its big breaks and offshore winds, Hope Beach is a great place to experience the power and surging swells of the Southern Ocean. It’s popular with local surfers, but absolutely not for beginners.

Hobart Introduces New Premium Combi Steamer

Hobart unveiled its new premium combi steamer designed to meet the needs of professional chefs, according to a company statement.

The new device will be showcased at a launch event on September 12.

“The industry requires cooking systems that are intuitively understandable and that support employees effectively,” said Manfred Kohler, managing director of sales and production.

According to the company, the latest appliance is effective for operations serving as few as 30 meals per day, while ensuring ease of use and cost-effectiveness.

Hobart’s new product includes three patented innovations and guarantees minimal water and energy usage and low cleaning costs, resulting in reduced operating expenses, the company added.
