Reba McEntire Announces 17-Date Fall Arena Tour with Terri Clark: 'Ready to Get Back Out There'

The country superstar wrapped the first leg of Reba: Live in Concert in March

will reba mcentire tour again

Reba McEntire is hitting the road — again!

The country singer announced a second leg of her Reba: Live in Concert arena tour on Monday, which will kick off in October in Lafayette, Louisiana.

"I can't wait to see everyone out on the road again this fall," the star, 67, said in a statement. "We had so much fun in the spring and I'm ready to get back out there with my buddy Terri Clark !"

Clark, 53, a longtime friend, will join McEntire through November on the 17-date tour, the first leg of which wrapped in March.

Because of COVID-related delays, the three-time Grammy Award winner waited two long years to get Reba: Live in Concert up and running, all while grappling with the loss of her mother Jacqueline , who died in March 2020 during initial rehearsals.

"I was in Oklahoma helping my brother and sisters take care of Momma, flying back and forth to Nashville (for) rehearsals," McEntire recalled to USA Today . "She passed in the middle of March and I went back home for the funeral. That's when COVID broke out. We didn't even get to have a funeral."

She continued: "You talk about tailspin? Everybody was like, 'What's going on? What's COVID?' And here we are, two years later, getting to do a show that everybody was really excited about. It was better than any of us could've imagined."

In addition to her tour, McEntire has a busy schedule ahead — she's set to join the cast of the ABC crime drama Big Sky for its upcoming third season, and recently announced that she'll star in and executive producer the Lifetime movie Reba McEntire's The Hammer .

"Everybody knows that I want to have fun doing what I'm doing," she told USA Today . "I want to do work that's fun."

Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Fans who sign up for McEntire's email list can access a presale starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time, as can Citi cardmembers.

Reba McEntire Tickets on Country Music On Tour

Reba McEntire is without one of the finest women in country music history. From her strong Oklahoma roots to her outstanding history of breaking records in country music, Reba has earned her place at the top of Nashville’s pinnacle of success.

Reba McEntire is currently booked for a limited engagement of concerts at The Colosseum in Las Vegas’s Ceasar’s Palace with the legendary Brooks & Dunn , as well as a short run of concerts in summer 2021

“I can’t wait to see everybody when we know it’s safe to gather again,” McEntire added in a statement. “We’ve worked so hard on this new show and I’ll be ready to go as soon as we get the green light!” In addition to her arena tour, the country star has also canceled a number of her Las Vegas residency dates with Brooks & Dunn this year including the residency’s April and June shows. Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas is currently scheduled to return in October.

Reba McEntire Biography

Reba Nell McEntire , known simply as Reba, is more than just an American country music singer and actress; she’s a living legend, the embodiment of the heart and soul of country music. With tour dates that have resonated with fans around the world, Reba has proven time and again why she’s hailed as “the Queen of Country.” Her journey from a humble Oklahoma upbringing to the bright lights of Nashville is a story of passion, perseverance, and profound talent.

Tour Dates That Tell a Tale:

  • Reba’s music has touched the hearts of millions, with over 100 singles gracing the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart since the 1970s, and an astounding 25 of those singles reaching the coveted number one spot.
  • Her live shows are legendary, where fans experience the magic of her timeless hits. From the moment she steps on stage, Reba weaves a musical tapestry that captivates her audience.

Awards and Achievements:

  • Grammy Award Winner for the iconic “Whoever’s in New England.”
  • An unstoppable force in country music, Reba has sold over 75 million records worldwide, solidifying her status as a true country icon.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Reba’s journey began as a young girl, singing harmonies with her siblings as “The Singing McEntires.” They performed at local events, planting the seeds of what would become an extraordinary career. Her path led her to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she studied to be a teacher while continuing to pursue her musical dreams.

Nashville Calling:

The turning point came when the talented Red Steagall discovered Reba’s enchanting voice at a rodeo event. Steagall’s belief in her potential led to a life-changing moment. With Steagall’s help, she secured a recording contract with PolyGram/Mercury Records in 1975, embarking on her journey to Nashville.

A Musical Evolution:

While her early years with PolyGram/Mercury Records saw moderate success, it was her transition to MCA Records in 1984 that marked a new chapter. “My Kind of Country” was a game-changer, bringing two number one Billboard country singles and a shift towards a more traditional musical style.

In 1991, tragedy struck when Reba lost eight of her band members in a plane crash, leading to her critically acclaimed album, “For My Broken Heart.” This profound experience inspired her highest-selling album to date.

The Artistic Chameleon:

Reba’s career isn’t limited to music; her versatility shines in the world of acting. From her film debut in “Tremors” to her role as Annie Oakley in the Broadway musical “Annie Get Your Gun,” she’s left an indelible mark.

In 2001, “Reba,” the TV series where she starred, graced our screens, and her recent venture as a coach on “The Voice” from 2023 onwards is a testament to her timeless appeal.

Reba’s life is a true embodiment of the American dream, a tale of family, love, and unwavering dedication. Her journey from the heart of Oklahoma to the epicenter of country music in Nashville is a testament to the power of dreams and the ability to transcend boundaries.

Who is nominated for the 59th ACM Awards?

At 2024's festivities , a win via Combs or Wilson's nomination for Entertainer of the Year would clinch being honored with the coveted Triple Crown Award, which consists of an Entertainer of the Year win plus wins in an act's respective New Artist (Male, Female, Duo, or Group) and Artist (Male, Female, Duo or Group) categories. Other artists who've achieved this feat include Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood.

Overall, Combs leads all artists with eight nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Single of the Year, plus Music Event of the Year alongside Riley Green for their song "Different 'Round Here."

Nominees speak on their success

Megan Moroney garnered the most ACM nods for a female artist with six nominations, including Female Artist of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year. Moroney's nominations include being highlighted for Song of the Year as artist and songwriter for "Tennessee Orange," Visual Media of the Year, and Music Event of the Year for "Can't Break Up Now" alongside Old Dominion.

As well, Jelly Roll is among a dozen first-time ACM award nominees for 2024, including Kassi Ashton, Tyler Childers, Ashley Cooke, Hannah Ellis, Flatland Cavalry, Kameron Marlowe, Kylie Morgan, Neon Union, Restless Road, Conner Smith and Tigirlily Gold.

To The Tennessean , Moroney cited the relationship she and her fans are building, built upon her songwriting and storytelling's evolving "honesty and vulnerability," as key to her success. Jelly Roll, a first-time nominee for Entertainer of the Year, believes that the marriage of his music and message allows him the "staying power and the ability to make broader and bigger cultural and musical splashes than (he already has)."

Best New Duo or Group award nominees Tigirlily Gold (sisters Kendra and Krista Slabaugh of Hazen, North Dakota) add that their nomination "reflects how (they're maturing in the country music artist community."

"Being loved by artists we'll always appreciate as fans—and now receiving honors similar to those they achieved—is as amazing as it is inspiring."

Reba McEntire

Reba McEntire told Jennifer Hudson that she is fired up to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time on May 16th, especially after watching Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks do the honors last year. “They were having so much fun I said, ‘Wait a minute, I want to do that!'” she said on the singer’s daytime talk show on Thursday (May 2).

When Hudson asked what was on tap this year, McEntire said her team of fashion experts have picked out some pieces that are unlike anything she’s ever worn before. “I wear a lot of what we call ‘Miss America dresses,'” McEntire said, describing one such 35-pound piece her stylist presented for perusal that nearly bent her arm. “I said, ‘I’m trying to lose weight not gain weight,'” McEntire joked about the hefty dress she suggested her stylist try on instead.

“Comfort is the thing, right girls?” McEntire asked the audience after describing how some dresses are good for a walk-out-and-introduce, while others need to have a different feel and look if she’s doing her show-opening monologue.

McEntire teased the new album coming out “soon,” as well as a single she’s debuting at the ACMs and a new sitcom called Happy’s Place for NBC, which is awaiting a pick-up from the network. After Hudson gushed about the theme song for Reba’s beloved self-titled early 2000s sitcom — which the host said was one of her mom’s favorite shows — the pair bonded over the series’ inspiring theme song, “I’m a Survivor,” which got Jennifer so excited she asked if they could do a duet on the track.

“I get to sing with Reba y’all!,” Hudson squealed. The women then harmonized on the verse about a single mom working two jobs, joining their voices as they crooned, “I’m a survivor.”

The conversation also touched on McEntire’s second season as a coach on The Voice , with the country veteran saying that she’s no longer the “new kid on the block” after Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and John Legend made her feel welcome during her first go-round last year. “But it took a while. It’s like going to a new school in sixth grade when everybody’s been together since pre-school,” Reba said of stepping in for Blake Shelton.

But this season, with fellow country act Dan + Shay, Legend and Chance the Rapper, McEntire said “we’ve had a blast,” though she demurred when asked whose rival team she thinks is her biggest competition while praising her team for their “heart and soul.” When Hudson wondered if McEntire is more enticed by the story, the style or the talent of her prospects, Reba said, “when you’ve got all three of those that’s when it’s really magic and that’s what my three artists [Josh Sanders, L. Rodgers and Asher HaVon] have.”

Reba Star Reveals Why Sitcom Revival Hasn’t Happened With New Update

Reba mcentire's new nbc sitcom sets reba reunion with new casting update, what is reba mcentire's net worth.

Known as the "Queen of Country," singer-turned-actor Reba McEntire starred in the beloved six-season sitcom Reba during the early 2000s, but that is far from her only acclaimed television project. NBC recently announced that The Voice coach and country music legend would star in a new network sitcom called Happy's Place . The original multi-cam comedy will see executive producer McEntire star as Bobbie, a woman who inherits her father's restaurant. Already less-than-enthused, Bobbie soon discovers that her business partner in Happy's Place is a half-sister she never knew existed.

Happy's Place will see McEntire reunite with former Reba cast member Melissa Peterman.

Both heartfelt and humorous, Happy's Place will see McEntire reunite with former Reba cast member Melissa Peterman. Aside from Reba , McEntire and Peterman have both had stints on other hit series like Young Sheldon and Working Class . Happy's Place 's cast of characters will also include Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn, who's McEntire's real-life partner. So far, NBC has been tight-lipped about when the new Reba McEntire sitcom will debut , but, undoubtedly, it almost makes up for the abrupt cancelation of McEntire's three-season Western.

Reba McEntire once again considers the likelihood of a Reba revival, explaining that there are quite a few obstacles standing in its way.

Reba McEntire's Upcoming Happy's Place Show Makes Up For Big Sky Being Canceled

The singer & actor will once again star in a network sitcom.

Created by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Practice), Big Sky is a crime-drama thriller that debuted on ABC in 2020. In the first season, former police officer Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) and private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) team up to investigate an abduction involving a long-haul trucker and a sex worker. Across the show's three seasons, the duo tackle other Montana-set criminal cases. In Big Sky season 2, Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles joined the show, and, in the third and final outing, Reba McEntire was added to Big Sky 's cast .

Reba McEntire only appeared in one season of Big Sky before its cancelation.

In a huge departure from her sitcom roles, McEntire plays Big Sky character Sunny Barnes, a back-country outfitter and the owner of Sunny Day Excursions. Just 13 episodes, Big Sky season 3 sees Jenny and Ackles' interim sheriff Beau Arlen investigating a missing persons case after a hiker seemingly vanishes. During their investigation, Jenny and Beau question Sunny, who vows to assist them. Shortly thereafter, Sunny is shown aiding a mysterious man who could be connected to the disappearance. Although McEntire was widely praised for her dramatic turn , she only appeared in one season of Big Sky before its cancelation.

A new casting notice reveals Reba McEntire's upcoming, untitled NBC sitcom will reunite the actor and singer with one of her former Reba co-stars.

Why ABC Canceled Big Sky After 3 Seasons

Declining ratings took down big sky.

After just three seasons, ABC canceled Big Sky , ending Reba McEntire's short-lived dramatic role in the crime drama series. Based on The Highway series of books by C. J. Box, Big Sky had plenty of material to pull from, but, unfortunately, landed uneven reviews from critics. Meanwhile, audiences were even harsher on the series, finding it difficult to get swept into the shaky series' twists and turns. Despite gaining traction during the COVID-19 pandemic, Big Sky never returned to its season-one highs . Ultimately, the sharp decline in ratings during Big Sky season 3 led to the show's cancelation.

Country star and actress Reba McEntire has sold millions of albums worldwide and had her own successful sitcom, but what is her net worth?

Reba McEntire's Sitcom Return Will Be A Big Change After Her Big Sky Role

Reba played a much darker character in big sky.

One of the best parts of Big Sky season 3, Reba McEntire impressed audiences with her range. Most well-known for her sitcom personalities, McEntire's Big Sky character was much darker due to the show's nature . That said, the musician and actor's sudden return to the world of network sitcoms creates a bit of a whiplash scenario. Even so, it's great to see McEntire landing a leading role again in the wake of Big Sky 's cancelation. While the success of Happy's Place remains to be seen, there's no denying Reba McEntire 's impressive sitcom track record, making her return to TV even more exciting.

The premiere of NBC's Happy's Place is TBA; all three seasons of Big Sky are streaming on Hulu.

Big Sky is a crime drama based on The Highway books from CJ Box. The series centers on Jenny Hoyt, an ex-cop, and Cassie Dewell, a private detective, who work together to solve crimes in Montana. Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury star in the ABC series, which was subtitled Deadly Trails beginning in season 3.

NBC’s freshman drama series, Found and The Irrational , which launched in a vacuum last fall when the strike delayed most broadcast scripted series, have now been integrated into the network’s regular lineup. The Irrational , which debuted behind The Voice on Mondays, is taking the other post- Voice slot on the schedule, Tuesdays at 10 PM.

Once again, NBC is using the Monday installment of The Voice , where shows like The Blacklist started, as a launch pad for a new drama series. This time it is Brilliant Minds , marking Heroes star Zachary Quinto’s return to NBC — and to the network’s Monday lineup where the superhero drama aired.

“We are using our returning hit shows to help launch new shows, whether it’s Brilliant Minds Mondays at 10, or help fortify our our sophomore shows like Irrational and Found — Tuesday at 10 using The Voice for the second season of Irrational and Thursdays at 10, using our highest rated drama Law & Order: SVU to help the second season of Found ,” Kern said.

As to why Found was picked to follow SVU , beyond both being crime procedurals with a strong female lead, “totally and thematically, the shows have a lot in common, so it just feels right on Thursday,” Kern said.

NBC introduced a Friday comedy block during the 2022-23 season with Lopez vs. Lopez and Young Rock/Grand Crew. Phased out for the strike-impacted 2023-24 season, the multi-cam block is back, led by the new Reba McEntire comedy Happy’s Place, paired with Lopez vs. Lopez. Both are multi-camera family comedies headlined by proven sitcom stars in McEntire and George Lopez.

“Family comedies have done well on Friday, and Reba seems like the perfect person to anchor our new family comedy block,” Bader said, referring to the genre’s traditions on the night with franchises like ABC’s TGIF.

Friday also is the night where McEntire’s previous sitcom, Reba, ran for five seasons on the WB before relocating to Mondays for its final season on the CW when Fridays were taken over by UPN’s WWE Smackdown. Happy’s Place reunites key auspices from Reba, including stars McEntire and Melissa Peterman and several executive producers.

Also, McEntire has been a coach on The Voice this season and is poised to return after getting strong feedback from fans. That would create strong promotional opportunities with McEntire on NBC three nights a week.

Superstore and American Auto creator Justin Spitzer’s latest workplace comedy, St. Denis Medical, will be opening Tuesday night at 8 PM. Night Court , which held the Tuesday 8 PM slot for its first two seasons, is shifting to 8:30 PM.

“We have a strong, broad access lead-in that our affiliates provide us from 7:30-8 PM. We want to use the access lead-in, which is one of the highest-rated lead-ins on broadcast TV these days, to launch St. Denis Medical at 8 o’clock,” Kern said, adding that Happy’s Place is at 8 PM on Fridays for the same reason and stressing that live viewing is important for the linear schedule.

With that in mind, NBC also shifted Tuesday’s Voice installment from 8 PM to 9 PM a couple of seasons ago, creating two launch pads, one at 8 PM and one at 10 PM.

NBC’s fall schedule features a lot of scripted series alongside 3 hours of The Voice and football on Saturday and Sunday, with new unscripted series Destination X, along with new drama The Hunting Party, held for midseason. (As Deadline has reported , pickup decisions on pilots Suits: L.A. and Grosse Pointe Garden Society are not expected until after the upfronts.)

“Generally, launching new unscripted shows in the fall is not very successful,” Kern noted. “People, even after all these years, amid television ratings decline, they still expect the networks to launch new scripted shows in the fall. So that’s where we stick with that.”

“We have contingency plans in place. A lot of our shows are already back in production shooting episodes that we’ll have if there is a strike, much like last fall when we were the only network with scripted shows available,” Kern said, referring to Found and The Irrational, which were held for fall as strike contingency. “Also, we do have the last season of Transplant available to us, we have seven hours of sports on our full schedule, we have Dateline , so we have less hours to fill. We hope that there won’t be another strike this summer but we do have plans.”

Reba McEntire Performs New Song "I Can't" on The Voice Season 25

What Are The Lyrics to Reba McEntire's "I Can't"?

As with most of her hits, Reba's vocals on "I Can't" are nice and clean and easy to follow, but if you'd like to follow along while she sings, you can check out the lyrics below:

I've got the thunder in my bones, I've got the trouble in my soul Drowning in tears my eyes were too proud to cry I hear you knockin' at my door, but I can't open it no more 'Cause this heart's half full of rain and risin' high Sometimes all that you can do is just survive I can't row you across right now I can't row you across right now I'm too busy building a bridge I can't throw you a line right now I can't throw you a line right now I'm too busy tryin' to live I've been a fool for holding on, I've been a fool for being strong I've been a fool for love and I'll be a fool again As soon as the rain stops pouring down, as soon as I find some higher ground I'll be good as new but I can't tell you when So, just keep on striking matches until then... 'cause I can't burn you a flame right now I can't burn you a flame right now I'm too busy seeing the light I can't lift you up right now I can't lift you up right now I'm too busy tryin' to fly Let go the anchor let go the chain Don't reach for me and don't call my name Shake off the past and baby just swim for the shore Blow me a kiss and hope for the best Wish what you will, take what you get Do what you want but I can't save you no more I got the thunder in my bones, I got the trouble in my soul Drownin' in tears my eyes were too proud to cry And I can't whisper a prayer right now I can't whisper a prayer right now I'm too busy baby, sayin' goodbye Let go the anchor let go the chain Don't reach for me and don't call my name Shake off the past and baby just swim for the shore Blow me a kiss and hope for the best Wish what you will, take what you get Do what you want but I can't save you no more
