Bret Michaels Announces ‘Parti-Gras’ 2023 Tour With Night Ranger + Jefferson Starship

Bret Michaels knows how to bring the party and next summer the Poison frontman will take music fans back in time by hitting the road with rock legends Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship .

Dubbed the "Parti-Gras" tour, the trek will also feature guest turns by former Journey vocalist Steve Augeri, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and a still-to-be revealed "nightly surprise" that is guaranteed to rock your world.

Michaels returned to Poison in 2022 as part of the massive Stadium Tour featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Joan Jett, but this time out he's rocking solo within what promises to be a festival-like atmosphere.

Michaels states, “I created Parti-Gras as a sincere and grateful thank you to the fans, friends, and family who have rocked with me over the years. I promise to deliver positive energy, live, raw, real music, and all the bands will deliver sing-a-long hit after hit songs. Your voice will be hoarse after an epic, big, fun stage show.“

“After seeing Bret bring the party in every market of The Stadium Tour, this past year, we are looking forward to more of his ‘nothing, but a good vibe, high-energy performing’ on The Parti-Gras Tour next summer,” added Rick Franks from Global Touring Live Nation who are backing the run.

The 12-date trek gets underway July 13 in Clarkston, Michigan, sticking primarily to the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. before wrapping on Aug. 6 in Charlotte, N.C. All the cities, dates and venues for the run are listed below.

Pre-sale ticketing will start tomorrow (Dec. 6) at 10AM local time via Live Nation , with the tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday (Dec. 9) at 10AM local time. There are also VIP Meet & Greet tickets available via Michaels' website .

Bret Michaels, Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship Plot 2023 Tour

Bret Michaels is bringing his Parti-Gras tour to at least a dozen amphitheaters across North America next summer, with help from Night Ranger , Jefferson Starship and other guests.

The Poison  singer told SiriusXM radio host Eddie Trunk that the tour will kick off in Detroit in July. "If you poured it into a bowl, it's the spectacular show of Kiss , the fun party of Jimmy Buffett and some Pitbull high energy, just good party party rave," he explained. "And then a little Bret Michaels thrown in there for a little pepper on top of everything.

"It's unique, never quite been done before. I said I want to throw that party starting in the parking lot, into the building, let fans have a chance to be on the side of the stage, they're doing the 'Dress Like Bret' karaoke contest, it's like a carnival of fun and awesomeness, right? And the music we're playing in between, we've got DJs spinning, everything is meant to be a party from the time you get there till you end. It's gotta be all killer, all hits, no filler."

He also promised fans appearances from other artists, including Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath and former Journey  frontman Steve Augeri. "I'm going to take my solo band ... and I'll finish about 3 or 4 songs ... no shutdown, no drum movement ... next thing you know, we're doing 'Don't Stop [Believin']'."

Michaels also noted that it will be the David Freiberg and Donny Baldwin lineup of Jefferson Starship included on the tour, not Mickey Thomas' Starship. "Mickey's been out on the road with me many times, he's great, but it's the original Jefferson Starship," Michaels clarified. "They wanted to come out, they were great, I went and saw them. Then I watched everything they were doing, they sounded incredible. I said, 'Here's what I'd love ... I need you to come out and bring out your hits, bring all your hits.'" Jefferson Starship released their first album in over a decade, Mother of the Sun , in 2020.

In addition to solo and Poison hits, Michaels promised surprises for each show. "We have special mystery guests," he said. "Every single night there will be someone on that stage. I can't tell you exactly who it is. But if you've ever looked at everyone [who's been on stage with me], I've had everyone from Jimmy Page to Jimmy Buffett to Paul Stanley . You don't know who it's gonna be, but we're gonna bring somebody out at the end of the night and we're gonna do their song."

The Rolling Stones setlist: Here are all the songs on their Hackney Diamonds Tour

It doesn’t matter that both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are 80.

As long as they’re sharing a stage, the Rolling Stones will continue to defy age and energy.

The band’s 16-city stadium sprint – sponsored, appropriately, by AARP – kicked off April 28 at NRG Stadium in Houston and will play through July 17 in Santa Clara, California. In between, the Rolling Stones will visit cities including Las Vegas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Chicago.

In October, the band released “Hackney Diamonds,” their first new album since 2005. For this complementary tour, Jagger, Richards and Ronnie Wood – along with durable supporting players Chuck Leavell, Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford, Karl Denson, Tim Ries, Steve Jordan (who assumed rhythm duties after the 2021 death of original drummer Charlie Watts ) and background vocalists Bernard Fowler and Chanel Haynes – shined on stage for two hours.

The 18-song set was stuffed with iconic rock anthems including “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Start Me Up,” and “Miss You”, along with a smattering of new songs from “Hackney,” including the Grammy-nominated “ Angry .”

Stadiums, which the band has played for nearly 50 years, still suit their blues-splattered rock and indefatigable frontman Jagger, who still slithers effortlessly, remains an undisputed legend.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse 2024 tour setlist: Every song they played at Phoenix concert

Neil Young brought Crazy Horse to Phoenix for the first since 2003, when the Greendale Tour played what we now call Arizona Financial Theatre.

Saturday’s show at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre was in support of "FU##IN’ UP," a new release that captures Young and Crazy Horse in all their ragged glory.

And they treated Phoenix to a show that put the spotlight on the staples that have made Young one of rock ‘n’ roll's most celebrated elder statesmen, setting the tone with an epic performance of “Cortez the Killer” that lasted roughly 15 minutes.

By the time they brought the concert to a cacophonous conclusion with the glorious racket of “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" and a one-song encore of "Danger Bird," Young and Crazy Horse had powered their way through such classics as “Cinnamon Girl,” “Don’t Cry No Tears” and “Powderfinger.”

Young also took a break from the distortion and his bandmates for a three-song unplugged mini-set, including “Comes a Time” and “Heart of Gold,” before the night was through.

The legendary rockers – Mick Jagger ,  Keith Richards  and  Ronnie Wood – opened the first night of their 2024 North American tour at NRG Stadium with hits like ‘Start Me Up’, ‘Paint It Black’ and ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’.

There was a live debut for ‘ Hackney Diamonds ’ song ‘Mess It Up’, along with a performance of ‘Little T&A’ for the first time since 2016.

Early in the set, the band also performed fan-favourite deep cut ‘Out of Time’ live for the first time in the US.

“Thank you Houston! You were an amazing audience for opening night!” shared the band on Instagram this morning (April 29).

The concert kicked off a 16-date North American tour in support of their latest album, which will continue on to cities like Las Vegas, Orlando, Chicago Los Angeles and more throughout May, June and July.

Reviewing ‘Hackney Diamonds’ in October – their first studio album of new material since 2005’s ‘ A Bigger Bang ’ – NME  described the record as an “absolute barnstormer”.

The four-star write-up added: “But if ‘Hackney Diamonds’ does round off the most successful career in rock music ever, it wouldn’t be a bad place to leave it. A natural end, but definitely not a normal one.”

Ronnie Woods recently spoke to NME about the “explosive” new songs and how they would translate live. “I have complete faith. We could play the whole album, you know what I mean? But [Mick and Keith] will go, ‘Oh no Ron, that’s so ambitious’. We’re not gonna forget the back catalogue,” he shared.

Rolling Stones Dazzle at ’24 Hackney Diamonds Tour Kickoff: Review and Set List

T he Rolling Stones kicked off their ’24 Hackney Diamonds tour at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Sunday with such age-defying splendor that one shudders to consider the details of their Faustian bargain.

Led by octogenarians Mick Jagger and Keith Richards , the Stones delivered an 18-song, two-hour set full of stadium-sized singalongs, along with a sprinkling of relative deep cuts and new tracks off last year’s Hackney Diamonds .

The band wasted no time whipping the 72,000-capacity stadium into a frenzy with set opener “Start Me Up.” Jagger leapt, spun and sauntered across the stage with a ballerina’s grace as he barked with barrel-chested virility, and Ron Wood ‘s searing guitar solo slashed through Richards’ sturdy riffs. The frontman summoned the righteous indignation of yesteryear on “Get Off of My Cloud,” while “Rocks Off” bristled with pompous, sleazy decadence.

Although they could have easily filled a two-hour set with roof-raising hits, the Stones opted for a slow burn, giving the Aftermath gem “Out of Time” (first played live in 2022) its Houston debut and winning a spirited singalong by Jagger’s sheer force of will. “I don’t think you really knew it, but you get to know it,” the frontman snarked afterward.

Another Houston debut — Hackney Diamonds lead single “ Angry ” — followed, one of only three new songs performed, along with “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” and the live debut of “Mess It Up.” Each received a hit-worthy reception, proof that the Stones’ latest LP achieves a hip modernity without straying too far from their bawdy blues-rock roots.

Glueing the operation together was the Stones’ ace touring band, particularly drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Darryl Jones, who maintained a precise, urgent thrust on each song. The duo made room for Jagger to vamp continuously and allowed Wood and Richards to keep their playing loose. The latter, a picture of a rock ‘n’ roll Dorian Gray, varied in lucidity from song to song, but held it together for his lead vocal turn during a raucous rendition of Tattoo You ‘s “Little T&A,” unveiled for the first time since 2016.

By the time the Stones reached the sinister boogie of “Sympathy for the Devil” (whose Roman temple stage design was the most dazzling of the evening), they had the crowd in the palm of their hands. A marathon of hits in the second half — “Gimme Shelter,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Miss You,” “Paint It Black,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” kept them at a fever pitch until the house lights went up.

There will come a day when the Stones can no longer deliver their one-of-a-kind stadium spectacle, but the end appeared nowhere in sight at the ’24 Hackney Diamonds tour kickoff. No use trying to put an expiration date on them; they’ve long since shattered every notion of what a rock ‘n’ roll band can achieve, and at this point, they’re competing only with themselves.
