LOS ANGELES, California - Punk rock legends X have announced the postponement of the first leg of the band’s “X New and Improved” tour, which was to stop at the House of Blues Cleveland on Wednesday, July 5.

The official statement says in part, “Due to an unforeseen emergency medical procedure with a band member this past weekend, X are forced to postpone the first leg of their upcoming June/July summer run of shows.”

According to the release, “Ticket holders for the affected shows should hang onto their tickets, rescheduled dates will be announced very soon.”

X was among the Los Angeles punk bands that gained prominence in the early 1980s. Their first four albums - “Los Angeles,” “Wild Gift,” “Under the Big Black Sun” and “More Fun in the New World” - were produced by former Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek and are considered classics of the era.

The band has undergone several lineup changes across its 46-year history and was inactive for several years in the ‘90s. But the current lineup is the original one of drummer DJ Bonebrake, guitarist Billy Zoom, bassist, vocalist John Doe and vocalist Exene.

While everyone is social distancing, closing ranks and donning masks while they shop, life can seem somewhat surreal to the senses. Yet, through all of the chaos, one thing is constant, music brings us together. Now, on the 40th Anniversary of the landmark, Los Angeles , and 35 years since the original band have released an album – X , one of the greatest Punk Rock bands in music history, releases ALPHABETLAND now. Listen or Buy . The original foursome - Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake have now made the album available for fans to purchase and by adapting to this moment, X continues to embody the same spirit they did when they began in 1977.

“ When your heart is broken you think every song is about that. These songs were written in the last 18 months & it blows my mind how timely they are,” explained John Doe. “We all want our family, friends & fans to hear our records as soon as it’s finished. This time we could do that. Thanks to Fat Possum & our audience. ”

X never gets old. Even though soon the audience will all be in wheelchairs. John Doe and DJ Bonebreak simply do not tire. Exene hasn't been at full steam for years, but she manages to pull it off anyhow with swagger. Heart goes out to Billy Zoon, who is recovering — we all hope — from cancer treatment. Exene wore a "support Billy Zoom" t-shirt, which they were also selling. I hope they're raising enough. Several years ago when X last performed in Detroit, Exene was already raising the issue of under insured musicians, and she and the band have long supported Sweet Relief, an organization founded 20+ yrs ago to address the issue. (She herself had been diagnosed with MS.) Would have liked to ask her if the ACA has made a difference.

Jesse Dayton stepped in on lead guitar with aplomb. However, I missed the cheeseball Zoom, who plays so effortlessly that he spends the whole set making eyes at the audience. But because Zoom wasn't there, I paid more attention to DJ Bonebreak (not a stage name!), who really has a similar presence. Doesn't miss a beat with a ton of flair.

I was thrilled that they played Blue Spark by request. AFAIK that song hasn't been in regular rotation for years, so it was great that they could pull it off with Jesse.

Before their set, introduced as the Staple Sisters,

they joined Dead Rock West to perform a song called "this may be the last time." That felt true. But who knows. I've thought that every time I've seen X since they began their perpetual reunion almost 20 years ago.

I survived my childhood and teen years by listening to X, so when I saw that they were playing again, I knew there was no way in hell I was going to miss their show. They played at The Casbah, a small divey bar in San Diego, and they rocked out, cooler than ever. Billy played his sax on a couple of songs and was awesome. They played their older songs, which I was happy about.

There were a few older douche bag white men who attended, who started pushing me around. I guess, they were trying to mosh, but it was lame. Really? How old are we now? Have we not evolved from that? Maybe not. One guy got kicked out for being too aggressive, and at one point John admonished a couple of idiots who were starting to fight saying that it ruined the song for him, "really guys, are you serious?" Luckily, there were enough gentlemen and others who just wanted to enjoy the music so that the show was not ruined.

X is a quintessential Los Angeles punk band who should not be missed. They are energetic and tight and still have their punk rock souls going on.

In a musical climate where it can often feel as if it’s a race to the bottom in terms of who can come up with the silliest band name, it’s refreshing to cast your mind back to a time where the likes of X were happy to go minimalist on that front, and let their music do the talking for them. Forming in 1977 - the same year that punk was born - you can argue that the LA group are among the forefathers of the genre, with their first two albums ranked amongst the greatest 500 ever by Rolling Stone back in 2003. Their heady reputation is down in no small part to their live shows, which continue to this day; there’s little in the way of rock and roll fireworks t the light show or the stage set, but they don’t really need it when they have a stage presence as commanding as that exuded by frontwoman Exene Cervenka. Her health problems in recent years have forced less touring, but both her voice and her sheer aura remain as potent as ever when they do play; this is a band sure to go down as icons of their genre in years to come.

Great show! They covered way more than just the Los Angeles album. They were in fine form and seemed to be really be having fun. Awesome hearing/seeing DJ Bonebreak playing vibes and Billy Zoom on sax Come Back To Me off of Under The Big Black Sun. Overall a badass show, Folk Yuke was a perfect opening band choice. I do miss the old school days when a little extra time and effort hanging after the show would net you a chance to say howdy or get an autograph. Unfortunately that's all been monetized and exclusive to VIP package deal holders. Great for those that can afford it but kindal sucky for real fans. The lat time I saw Excene in San Antonio was a solo show at a shithole club on Avenue E on October 8th, 2011. There were maybe 25-30 people there including staff. Obviously that scene was much less pretentious and she more accessible. In fact she was working her own merch table after the show. X still bring it, if you get a chance catch them on this tour.

Conceptually, playing the classic 4 albums over 2 nights made a lot of sense.

But the sound was dreadful. Having just seen the Decemberists there, the sound can mix well at the Observatory North Park.

John Doe's driving bass line was missing in Hungry Wolf. Although the mix was better the first night (larger crowd), it was a terrible start to their second night. At no point did their sound person ever bring the bass up enough to hear without focus.

The ~40 minute run times of their albums made for two short shows. But on night two, with the sound so dreadful, I wanted to hear the cuts they rarely play and get out.

This probably will be the last time I spend my money on X.

So often, when seeing bands of the X era (or before), you assume that you'll be watching an energy-less show of aging rockers with declining skills & diminished vocals. I am so happy to report that X can still bring it!

Night 3 ("Under the Big Black Sun") of a 4 night run at the Observatory was so incredible that I went back for the final show ("More Fun in the New World"). The band's sound was cohesive and strong, Billy Zoom's mastery of the guitar was really showcased on night 4, Exene's vocals were as beautiful as ever, and kudos to Doe for chastising the guy in the crowd for messing with his smartphone during the set.

Brilliant stuff - thoughts and prayers to Billy on a speedy recovery!

X was phenomenal! They were in rare form at the Casbah. Soundcheck was great although it was a little short. Being able to see them at 100.7 origin show beforehand was great! Small intimate venue with a fear of being in the living room having a conversation with the band. After sound check while waiting for the small wigs to play Xcene and John Doe came out and talk to the crowd hung out signed autographs I was really kind of nice. At the VIP soundcheck everyone got a great bag of swag. It was one of the most memorable shows I've ever seen. Great crowd great warm-up band great performance by X.

40 years of punk rock. Most of their contemporaries are dead or have quit music, but X shows why they are still a viable force. Yeah, they only play old songs because Billy won't play anything he didn't play on originally—but tonight they showed some new arrangements, which I loved. X was always deeper than "loud & fast rules" which is why I think they outlasted the others. The Cat's cradle was packed with oldsters and plenty of younger folks too-- a great sweaty rock show.

geoff-dunkak’s profile image

Was hopefull it would be good show, but these guys are old like me.

It was fantastic. They rocked hard and fast. They played exclusively from their first 4 albums. Those were their best.

But I would have liked to hear some of their older stuff too. They had the time as they didn't even play for 1.5 hours.

But that's not picking.

Venue was great too.

roymcooper’s profile image

Great show and venue. Hard to believe they have been together for so long. Great energy and they appeared to still have a good time performing. Opening act was Jane from GoGo's. Her band was great but cannot remember their name. She sounded great and would also see them again.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2023 tour will be postponed until 2024, citing doctor’s advice.

The Boss, who last week celebrated his 74th birthday, is “steadily recovering” from peptic ulcer disease, a press release read. “Out of an abundance of caution,” the remainder of this year’s tour has been pushed to next year.

Earlier this month, Springsteen announced that he would be postponing all of his September 2023 dates while he was treated for symptoms related to the disease, which causes ulcers to form in the stomach or small intestine that can cause heartburn, nausea and stomach pain.

Those postponed shows included stops in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany and Syracuse in New York, Pittsburgh, Washington, and shows in Connecticut and Ohio.

The newly postponed shows include Canadian dates and a West Coast run of Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Rescheduled concerts will be announced this week and will take place at the original venues.

Peptic ulcer disease can be dangerous, leading to bleeding and emergency situations such as perforation of the ulcer through the stomach. Typical treatment uses common drugs called proton pump inhibitors, such as Prilosec, which can help heal the ulcers within four to six weeks. People who are treated “recover completely from peptic ulcer disease,” Dr. Lawrence Kosinski of the American Gastroenterological Association told AP .

“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support,” Springsteen said in a short statement. “I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”

News of Springsteen’s illness first emerged in May of this year, when he postponed three dates .

Springsteen’s 2023 tour, his first in six years, kicked off on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Florida, before 20,000 fans who mostly stood through the 28-song arena show that included staples like “Born to Run,” “Glory Days,” “Rosalita,” “Promised Land” and “Backstreets.”

STATIC-X Moves 'Rise Of The Machine' North American Tour With FEAR FACTORY And DOPE To 2023

STATIC-X has postponed its "Rise Of The Machine" North American tour featuring FEAR FACTORY , DOPE , MUSHROOMHEAD and TWIZTID . The trek, produced by Live Nation , is being rescheduled due to the current increase in the spread of COVID-19 and its continued effect on travel restrictions, public health, and fan safety. The 42-date trek will now kick off February 25, 2023, in San Francisco, California and wrap up April 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. Due to overwhelming demand, four new markets have been added to the tour and the Portland, Oregon date has been upgraded to Roseland. Fans can expect the same incredible package and night of music as previously announced. All previously sold tickets and meet-and-greets will be honored. More information can be found at Static-X.com.

STATIC-X said in a statement: "On the surface, we are incredibly disappointed to share this news with our fans. However, considering how infrequently STATIC-X , FEAR FACTORY and DOPE have each toured over the last 10 years, we felt that the priority was to ensure that ALL of these 20th anniversary shows are ultimately able to play.

"With all of the uncertainty around travel restrictions, the extreme rise in current cases, as well as the quarantine mandates for those who test positive, we believe that attempting to play these dates in the coming weeks would likely result in a number of last-minute cancelations and lead to a much greater level of disappointment.

"The good news is that we were able to keep the entire touring lineup intact. STATIC-X , FEAR FACTORY , DOPE , MUSHROOMHEAD and TWIZTID will each perform in their previously scheduled cities, and due to the excitement around the tour and exceptional ticket sales, we also added four additional cities to the tour.

"Further, we highly value having an up-close-and-personal meet-and-greet experience with our fans. We take extreme joy in shaking hands, giving hugs, taking photos, and we look forward to doing all of this without having to socially distance, wear masks etc. We are certain that by pushing things back, these experiences will be significantly more enjoyable and memorable for all of us.

"In addition, STATIC-X , FEAR FACTORY and DOPE are all scheduled to complete new albums in 2022, which will lead to each band having brand new music to share with the fans, as we lead into these newly rescheduled tour dates.

"As we stated previously, we are so excited to finally get back out on the road and hang out with you all. We plan to play most of the songs off of both 'Machine' and 'Wisconsin Death Trip', as well a number of nice surprises that are being incorporated into the set list. We appreciate our friends in FEAR FACTORY , DOPE , MUSHROOMHEAD and TWIZTED making themselves available to share in all of this nostalgic insanity next year. We can't wait to celebrate all of the good times that we had with Wayne and to share it live and loud with all of our fans night after night."

Originally released in 2001, "Machine" would ultimately turn out to be the last album recorded by the four original members of STATIC-X . All of the lead vocals and guitars on "Machine" were performed by Wayne Static , while bass, backing vocals, drums, and programming contributions came from founding members Tony Campos , Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda . The limited-edition release will have packaging featuring fully reimagined artwork and will be available in multiple configurations, including multiple color vinyl sequenced on two discs, with an etching of the STATIC-X Shock symbol on side D.

Last year, Drake notched his 13th Billboard 200 No. 1 album with  For All the Dogs . MONSTA X has postponed their latest world tour again. This is the third time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

x tour postponed

Starship Entertainment released a statement on the group’s official social media. After great consideration, the “2022 MONSTA X NO LIMIT US TOUR” has been postponed from January-February to May-June of this year.

x tour postponed

MONBEBEs (fans of MONSTA X) have mixed feelings regarding the announcement. Most respect the decision as it’s based on the health and safety of all of those involved as COVID-19 is at a high again.

Took some time to evaluate the timing of this & actually no.. this was incredibly last minute! Tour was about to begin in like a week or 2! How can MBB cancel, re-book, etc with such a last minute decision. I’m grateful for safety above all, but this management is really bad. — ✨ ⋈ WONBEBEX♡̆̈✨ (@MonstaX_NM) January 21, 2022

Still, this is the third postponement. We can’t help but worry that the tour will never happen.

x tour postponed

Nevertheless, we will remain hopeful, especially as Starship Entertainment promised to honor previously purchased tickets.

x tour postponed

Originally, the “2020 MONSTA X World Tour in US/Canada” was scheduled for the summer of 2020 but was pushed back to April and May of 2021. Later, another statement was made by the company promising to reschedule again.

Thank you very much for your interest and support in ‘2021 MONSTA X World Tour in US/Canada.’ We regret to announce that “2021 MONSTA X World Tour in US/Canada” originally scheduled for April-May 2021 is being rescheduled due to a rise in the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases around the world. Please understand that we have decided to postpone the performance of ‘2021 MONSTA X World Tour in US/Canada’ to hold the concert in stable condition. We plan to secure a new performance schedule, putting the safety of fans, artists, and staff first. All tickets will be honored and valid for the new dates once they are rescheduled. We ask for generous understanding of the fans who have been waiting for the ‘2021 MONSTA X World Tour in US/Canada.’ Further announcements will be made as soon as new dates are finalized. —Starship Entertainment

In May 2021, it was made official as new dates were released for the tour. Again, there are updated dates since the latest postponement.

These updated dates are seen below. You may notice there are considerably fewer venues listed.

MONBEBEs can’t help but be concerned about this. However, we will continue to wait for further updates from Starship Entertainment.

Tyla Gives An Update On Her Postponed Headlining Tour

In March, Tyla shared her eponymous debut album. Initially, she was expected to tour in promotion of the project, with the North American leg scheduled for April. However, the South African artist was forced to push back the trek due to a worsening injury.

Today (May 2), she gave fans an update on the “Tyla Tour” during a sit-down with ELLE . “Tour is definitely going to come, probably late in the year. For now, I want to do more visuals and more interacting with people,” the “Truth or Dare” singer said.

“I really want to have fun with this rollout. I don’t want to do things that everyone’s doing. I want to play around a bit and do new stuff,” she continued. “And I’m excited to see how the music travels and what people create out of it because I already know people are going to come up with whatever they come up with, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they do that.”

Tyla announced the postponement on her Instagram just two weeks before the tour was set to kick off. She explained, “For the past year, I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. Despite consulting doctors and specialists with high hopes, the pain and severity of the situation have only escalated.” The musician further revealed that she consulted medical professionals who told her doing festivals and shows would “jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”

TYLA debuted at No. 24 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, moving 24,000 album-equivalent units. The body of work contained features from Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Becky G, among others. It also housed her 2023 smash hit, “Water,” alongside the Travis Scott-assisted remix.

It’s also worth mentioning that Tyla and Gunna were spotted in South Africa earlier this week for the video shoot of “Jump.”

Later Wednesday, in a separate post , Gaga went into detail on the editing experience for the film. “I spent countless hours in the editing room bringing my vision for this film to life,” she wrote. “It is my gift to you — directed, produced and created by me, alongside some of the most talented, creative people in the world.”

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Aerosmith have announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was suspended in September 2023 because Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. This new leg kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and wraps up Feb. 26 in Buffalo, New York. They’ll once again be joined by the Black Crowes.

The band announced plans to wrap their career with one final tour in May 2023, but they played a mere three shows before Tyler severely hurt his larynx. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” he wrote in a message to fans. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

The Rolling Stones are coming to Phoenix. So is the traffic. How to minimize the aggravation

x tour postponed

The Rolling Stones bring their Hackney Diamonds Tour to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday, May 7.

They’re the first act ever to bring three tours through State Farm Stadium, having previously played there in 2006 (when it was still called University of Phoenix Stadium) and 2019. The last time they were here, on the No Filter Tour , they drew a crowd of 52,726.

That's a lot of people, which can only mean a lot of traffic as thousands and thousands of drivers inch their way along the roads that lead to State Farm Stadium.

This is especially true for those who like to time their arrival to when the Stones are just about to hit the stage.

That’s how bottlenecks happen. And bottlenecks are wonderful for playing slide guitar, as Keith Richards could tell you, but not so much for getting to your seat on time.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

And you don't want to miss a minute of the action. As Mick Jagger told The Republic in an exclusive interview , he's there to make sure people hear the songs they came to hear.

"Well, "I have a list of all the numbers we rehearsed, right?" Jagger said. "We rehearsed for four weeks. So then, I go through all the ones I think we have to do, that people expect, that if we didn't do them, people would go, “Well, I came here to see ‘Honky Tonk Women' and they didn't do it.” And of course, I enjoy doing it. It's not a problem."

As luck would have it, there are ways to make your trip to State Farm Stadium as painless as humanly possible.

The earlier you get to State Farm Stadium for the Rolling Stones, the better

As with any major stadium event, it’s best to plan on getting to the parking lot as early as you can. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Doors are at 6 p.m. Parking lots open at 4 p.m.

“Unfortunately when doors open, that’s right around midway through after-work rush hour,” says Moroni Mendez, a public information officer with the Glendale Police Department. "So our advice would be to try to get there early so that you can beat the traffic or do anything you can to avoid being stuck in all that congestion.”

'So raw and so real' The Rolling Stones' first Phoenix concert in 1965 was a fever dream

Figure out your parking for the Rolling Stones concert in advance

Mendez advises visiting the venue’s website, statefarmstadium.com , to figure out the parking situation in advance.

“I always try to tell people to try to research ahead of time just so that they know approximately which area they want to park and what route is best to take,” he says.

This map should help.

Follows signs directing traffic outside State Farm Stadium

Roadways will be closed as you approach the stadium with traffic barriers and signs directing cars to go a certain way.

“It’s kind of hard to guess or know ahead of time how the roads are going to be set up,” Mendez says. “That’s why we advise people to try to get there earlier so they can try to beat the rush.”

General Parking (blue) access points are available via Glendale Avenue or Cardinals Way from Loop 101 and from surface streets, including 91st and 99th avenues. Upon nearing the stadium, follow the guidance provided by messaging boards and parking staff.

The stadium's parking operations team will direct vehicles into lots according to capacity and traffic flow. To ensure smooth parking and to be directed to the closest available lot to State Farm Stadium, adhere to the directions and instructions provided by Glendale police and the stadium's parking staff.

“When entering the entertainment district, just pay attention to traffic signs directing cars and obviously drive with caution,” Mendez says. “There’s going to be a lot of traffic, a lot of vehicles. Maybe you can focus on the driving and have a passenger available to keep an eye out and kind of lead you.”

Mendez says the stadium will be providing updates on Instagram, Facebook, and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Use the WAZE app for State Farm Stadium road closure details

Road closures around the stadium will be included in the WAZE app the day of the event.

Fans with Red Preferred Parking can search WAZE for Red Lot - State Farm Stadium for guided navigation to the Red Preferred entry.

General parking can arrive at the stadium parking from any direction to be guided into the closest available lot.

Have your parking ticket QR code ready to scan

Traffic will move faster if you take a moment before you arrive at the stadium parking entry to upload your parking permit QR code and have it open on your phone for the parking attendant to scan.

Taking Lyft or Uber to the Rolling Stones at State Farm Stadium

Mendez also recommends using Uber or Lyft.

“If you use rideshare, you don’t have to worry about the driving,” he says. “And it’s maybe a little simpler as far as being dropped off and not having to worry about finding a parking space.”

The drop-off and pick-up area for Rideshare/Family and Friends is situated south of the stadium in the Black Lot. For any updates, please check the event’s detail page.

Know what you can take into the stadium before you go

Mendez suggests reviewing the stadium’s clear bag policy and the list of prohibited items, both of which you can find in our ultimate guide to the Rolling Stones at State Farm Stadium, before you head into the concert.

“There are lockers, but they fill up quickly,” Mendez says. “So just avoid the things that are not allowed in the stadium.”

That being said, he adds, be careful about leaving valuables in your car.

“When it comes to stealing or taking things out of vehicles, a lot of times these criminals seek crimes of opportunity,” he says. “And what I mean by that is unsecured vehicles, objects in plain sight, things like that.”

'You've got to feel the energy': Mick Jagger on building the perfect Rolling Stones tour

If you plan on drinking at the Rolling Stones, don't plan on driving

Mendez also encourages fans who like to drink to have a plan in place for getting home.
