Milea Bee Farm is located on Kurba Road, Lipa Batangas, about 21 km away from Batangas City. The farm attracts many visitors due to its authenticity and serene environment and is one of the top farm destinations in the Philippines . The farm does not feel like a tourist trap as it advocates bee propagation, beekeeping education, and agricultural sustainability.    The main tourist activity in Milea is a guided farm tour called “Beesita sa Bukid Tour.” This tour starts with a short educational talk on bees and their habitat. Afterward, you can walk around the property and learn about different flowers, plants, and fruits growing here. The tour also includes seeing the bees up close and honey tasting.

Visitors attend mass near the Monte Maria Shrine in Batangas

Monte Maria is not just a shrine but an international pilgrimage and conference center built in honor of the Virgin Mary. Formally known as Montemaria International Pilgrimage and Conference Center, the complex spans 8 hectares and is situated 20 kilometers outside of Batangas City.

Monte Maria is one of the top Batangas tourist spots because of its uniqueness. It is meant to be both a religious and tourism site. Although devotees and pilgrims are attracted to it, Monte Maria caters to regular tourists as well.

The main landmark of the center is the Virgin Mary Shrine, officially named Mother of All Asia-Tower of Peace. At over 98 meters, this tower is considered one of the tallest Virgin Mary statues in the world. It sits on the top of a plateau, about 148 meters above sea level. The tower overlooks Verde Island Passage, Batangas Bay, and parts of Oriental Mindoro.

Monte Maria houses two chapels, a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and impressive architectural designs. It is also a retreat and retirement center that has rooms and spaces for workshops and conferences. Monte Maria is about 20 kilometers away from Batangas City.

Facade of Calaruega Church in Batangas

Caleruega Church is one of the most famous churches in Batangas. This property is perched on the highest hill of Nasugbu Town. Caleruega is named after a Spanish municipality.

Caleruega Church has beautiful architecture and a tranquil natural environment that makes it ideal for religious activities and spiritual retreats. In fact, it has become a well-known wedding venue.

Caleruega is not just a church but a retreat center surrounded by lush scenery. Its main building is called the Transfiguration Chapel. This chapel has a nice colonial design and a peaceful ambiance. This is the most photographed part of the property and where most couples choose to wed.

  • Book a Caleruega Church tour and explore other Tagaytay and Batangas attractions

Aside from the main building, you can visit the other interesting sections of the complex during your visit. Some of these are the Fountain Compass, the Tent Chapel of Transfiguration, St. Dominic’s Point, Kampo Terraces and Amphitheater, and the Dominicum’s grand stairway. Caleruega’s outdoor area also features a koi pond, a Japanese garden, plant nursery, a worm farm, a hanging bridge, and various walkways.

One of the buildings in Fantasy World, Batangas

Fantasy World was meant to be the Philippine version of Disneyland. It’s supposed to be the largest and grandest theme park in the country. However, this ambitious project has remained unfinished. Fantasy World has never opened as a theme park. According to local stories and rumors, the Japanese owner had financial problems and, therefore, stopped the construction years ago.

Despite being a failed project, Fantasy World is still a favorite Batangas tourist spot and a frequent filming location. Its large fairytale castle, medieval-themed structures, and sad story have managed to attract many tourists.

  • Book a Fantasy World tour to explore this Disneyland-like attraction

You can still access Fantasy World if you pay the minimal entrance fee. But it’s not a functional theme park, so there are no rides or shows. With its intact medieval architecture and lush surroundings, Fantasy World is still very scenic.

While here, you can walk around, enter the fairytale-like buildings and take photos. One popular spot in the abandoned park is the hanging bridge connected to two treehouses. You can climb to the top of the treehouses and enjoy the views of Batangas, including the Taal Volcano.

Fantasy World is located along Diokno Highway in Lemery, Batangas. A local homeowners association is managing and operating the property.

Facade of the Taal Basilica in Batangas

Taal Basilica’s official name is Basilica of St. Martin de Tours. It stands on top of a hill at the center of Taal Town. This basilica is huge; it is 96 meters high and 45 meters wide. It is often referred to as the largest Catholic Church in Asia.

Taal Basilica was reconstructed several times in the 19th century. Its Baroque appearance today is attributed to architect Luciano Oliver, who redesigned the church in 1856.

The church’s main draws are its silver tabernacle and facade, which is comparable to the one at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Taal Basilica’s 26 classical columns at the entrance are indeed an impressive sight!

Taal Basilica is a popular wedding site and a favorite destination of devotees during the Catholic Lenten season.

When you enter, the basilica’s altar size will immediately impress you. This altar is 10 meters wide, 24 meters high, and lined with Doric columns with a Jesus Christ statue at the center.

Taal Basilica is the main building in Taal Park, which has other notable landmarks like the Rizal College and the Escuela Pia: Taal Heritage Center.

Maculot’s summit. “The Summit” offers views of the Taal Volcano Island, the Labangan Bay, and Mount Makiling, a dormant volcano. “The Rockies” is the third vantage point that has views of the picturesque rocky cliffs along the southernmost part of Lake Taal.

Situated in Nasugbu, Batangas, Mt. Batulao is one of the most accessible mountains near Manila and is another top hiking destination in the Philippines. Mountain climbing enthusiasts come to Mt. Batulao because of its many peaks, boulder formation, grass ridges, and scenic views.

The journey to the summit is composed of open trails and rolling slopes. The mountain summit is about 811 meters above sea level. Mt. Batulao has 12 peaks that offer panoramas of Taal Lake, Cavite, Nasugbu coastline, Maragondon mountains, Tagaytay highlands, Balayan Bay and Mt. Maculot.

The mountain offers two main trails, called “Old Trail” and “New Trail''. The Old Trail is located in the mountain's eastern section and has 10 campsites/stations. The New Trail is on the west side of the mountain, and it features only one large campsite.

The Evercrest Golf Course in Nasugbu is the jumpoff point to Mt. Batulao. From the golf course's entrance, you can walk or use the tricycle (local three-wheeler) to reach the start of the trails. Local guides, some of which are kids, would usually offer their services at the entrance.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

Due to its popularity, Anilao has become the poster image of the municipality of Mabini . It has become synonymous with the town it represents. In reality, however, Anilao is just a barangay and many of the resorts that are often tagged “Anilao” are located in other nearby villages.

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Tucked in the northern coast of the Calumpang Peninsula, it is one of the areas in Batangas that underwent development ahead of others. Regarded as the birthplace of scuba diving in the Philippines, Anilao’s rich and colorful underwater scenery attracts visitors more than its shores.

Anilao is also a setting-off point to other attractions including Sombrero Island and Masasa Beach in Tingloy, the only island municipality of Batangas. It is also the jump-off point to Mt. Gulugod Baboy , a relatively easy hike, perfect for trekking beginners. Some hikers head to the beaches to take a refreshing swim after the climb.

The municipality of Tingloy occupies Maricaban Island, making it the only municipality outside mainland Batangas. It’s situated off the tip of the peninsula and sandwiched between Balayan Bay and Batangas Bay.

For a long time, the isolated town has been off the radar until beachgoers heard the news about Masasa Beach , a pristine stretch of fine sand and clear waters. Today, Masasa Beach is one of the most popular attractions in the province, attracting thousands of tourists from Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.

The well-known Sombrero Island, which is often associated with Anilao, is actually part of Tingloy too. Another beach destination in Tingloy is Oscar Beach, sometimes called by the locals as Oscar Island. All these pieces of tropical paradise make Tingloy one of the fastest-rising tourist destinations in the country.

Laiya Aplaya , or simply Laiya, is another seaside barangay that pretty much represents the whole town of San Juan in terms of tourism. The long and wide stretch of fine light-colored sand harbors numerous resorts and hotels, ranging from budget to high-end. It has become one of the go-to weekend destinations and a venue for events such as company outings and even weddings.

Verde Island , also called Isla Verde , is nestled in the middle of Verde Island Passage, hailed as the center of the world’s marine biodiversity by a 2007 Smithsonian Institute study.

Just 45 minutes off the Batangas mainland, this sleepy fishing island in Batangas City remains undisturbed by tourism as of today. Most tourist amenities and activities are concentrated in Mahabang Buhangin and Cueva Sitio. With very few resorts, homestays, and restaurants, its rugged shores are almost devoid of tourists. But that’s not to say that this breathtaking island has nothing to offer. In fact, it offers something that not many Luzon destinations can provide — some peace and quiet.

Verde Island is perfect for those who are looking for a serene, back-to-basics kind of beach escape.

If you are looking for a unique beach destination n Batangas, the municipality of Lobo is notable for its pebble beaches. Instead of shores covered with fine sands, most of the beaches in Lobo, especially in Malabrigo, are carpeted by smooth pebbles and stones.

This has been my family’s secret summer getaway because we like the less crowded beaches. A few years ago, it was quite challenging to travel to Lobo because some parts of the winding road were not yet cemented. But today, it’s easier to reach either from Batangas City or from San Juan.

Despite the development, it’s still tamer and quieter compared to other more developed coastal towns in Batangas. Most of its patrons seek serenity more than anything. As for me, I like that I don’t have to worry about the sand sticking to my hair or my swimwear. Haha!

My family likes walking to the lighthouse in the morning when we visit for an overnight stay. The Malabrigo Point Lighthouse (Faro de Punta Malabrigo) is a National Historical Landmark. In the past, we can freely explore inside and around the lighthouse, but during our recent visit, we can only admire the lighthouse from the outside. We don’t mind because it also serves as a viewpoint, overlooking the sea and the surrounding areas.

8. Taal Heritage Town

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Taal was originally located in what is now the town of San Nicolas near Taal Lake. The former provincial capital was forced to relocate to its present location when the Taal Volcano violently erupted in the mid-18th century.

Although commercialization is apparent, the town center still elicits that strong old town vibe with the well-preserved town hall building and ancestral houses flanking the streets. But the town’s highlight is the Basilica de San Martin de Tours (or simply Taal Basilica ), said to be the biggest Catholic church in Asia. Sitting atop a hill, it definitely commands attention and is an iconic landmark.

If you get hungry, you can try some of Batangas’ signature dishes like the tapang Taal and Taal longganisa . You can order these at Don Juan BBQ near Taal Market, where you can also go food tripping or pasalubong shopping.

If you have more time, you can also check out the Taal-made Barong Tagalong, balisong-making, and Taal embroidery products.

9. Fantasy World, Lemery

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Most tourists assume that Fantasy World is located in Tagaytay because of the close proximity, higher elevation and the backdrop of the rolling hills, but it is, in fact, in the fringes of the municipality of Lemery in Batangas.

It was supposed to be a magnificent theme park poised to rival Disneyland, but the construction was halted. Today, it remains unfinished but not abandoned. It is operational as a photo spot destination, perfect for those whose flights of fancy are filled with either fairy tales or grim (or Grimm) aesthetics. It is also a popular prenuptial shoot location.

The park and some of the rides, which are not operational, will make you yearn for something that is almost within your grasp but is unattainable. Despite the lack of action, the whole place is still Instagram-worthy. It was also the filming location for movies ( Fantastica , Got 2 Believe ) and TV shows ( Majika ).

The highlight of the park is the towering castle, which was the centerpiece of the plan. If you are not afraid of heights, you can climb to the top of the main tower and admire the view of the park and the surrounding areas.

Opening Hours: As of writing, the management doesn’t allow tourists inside the premises anymore. Some visitors just take photos in front of the gate or from a viewpoint along the road. 10. Views of Taal Volcano

top 10 batangas tourist spots

As the centerpiece of Taal Lake, it is also described as an island (Volcano Island) within a lake (Taal Lake) within an island (Luzon main island). It is certainly scenic and just watching it from afar can be calming, but don’t underestimate its power. It’s very, very active and has the nastiest fiery mouth.

Before the 2020 eruption, the Volcano Island is accessible to tourists who wish to get to the edge of the crater and marvel at this small but mighty nature’s wonder. While you can admire it from Tagaytay, you can go to Talisay to get closer to Taal Lake.

You don’t need to check in to a ridge-perched hotel to have a good look at the lake and volcano. Several establishments like restaurants and shopping centers offer a magnificent view, including the Twin Lakes complex, which is actually located in Laurel, Batangas, even though it is often touted as a Tagaytay attraction.

Known for its ruins of Grecian pillars and statues, which remind visitors of its glorious past, Fortune Island was once a luxurious exclusive resort that closed its doors in 2006.

Go cliff jumping, trek to the lighthouse, take lots of photos, do snorkeling, and even go scuba diving. Have fun under the sun while exploring the whole island. If you are swimming, there are two areas where you can swim — the shallow but rough waters (beach) and the calm but deep waters (cliff-diving area).

If you are into diving, some nearby diving sites are the Blue Holes, the Wreck, and Fortune NW. If a day trip is not enough, you may camp overnight on the island. If so, you can do stargazing and astrophotography!

15. Matabungkay, Lian

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Matabungkay may sound “old school” now, but it became well-known for a reason. This strip along the coast of Lian has attracted tourists since the 1950s. In its heyday, it was one of the prettiest, most easily accessible beaches from Manila.

Today, of course, a lot has changed. Other beaches have been “discovered” over the years, pushing Matabungkay to the back seat. But although Matabungkay isn’t as popular as the other Batangan beaches, it remains a go-to place for family outings and group excursions among local tourists.

The long stretch of ash-colored sand is lined with resorts, stores, and houses. But its most striking feature is the dozens of iconic floating bamboo raft cottages.

16. Mt. Maculot

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Maculot in Cuenca is another favorite hiking destination near Manila. Rising over 900 meters asl, Maculot will test your endurance with its steep assaults and rocky features. Aside from the spacious campsite, the other major draws are the summit and the “Rockies”, which both present a picturesque view of Taal Lake, the surrounding towns, and the lush forest.

Take extra precaution when going to the Rockies for photo ops because the wind can get too strong. Crouch or scramble low if you must. Always prioritize safety more than anything else.

If you don’t have a car, there are tours offering a private Maculot day hike tour which covers round-trip transfers from McDonald’s El Pueblo, Ortigas to Mount Maculot, a guide, snacks, and registration fee.

17. Mt. Batulao & Mt. Talamitam

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Mount Batulao is another famous peak, thanks to its proximity to Manila. This is one of the most scenic hiking destinations that are easily accessible, just a bus ride away, from the capital. The jump-off point, KC Hillcrest (Evercrest), is located close to the border of Batangas and Cavite.

Much of the trail has easy slopes and the assaults are not too steep, save for the ridgeline near the summit, so Batulao is generally recommended for beginners.

What makes the hike challenging is its bareness, with grasslands covering much of the surface. During the summer months, the hike might be difficult because of the lack of shade. But the trail is punctuated by several rest spots.

You and your companions can book a private day hike tour if no one in your group knows how to drive. The package is inclusive of the private hike, round trip transportation between McDonald’s El Pueblo and Mount Batulao, registration fee, snacks, and a guide.

Neighboring Mount Talamitam might be shorter than Batulao but the hike involves more assault and steeper climb, especially near the summit. You can forgo taking the almost vertical climb to the summit by opting to go for the winding but longer trail, which is usually taken when descending the mountain. The new jump-off point is at Barangay Kayrilaw. Some hikers do a twin hike of Mount Batulao and Mount Talamitam.

18. Taal Lake Yacht Club

top 10 batangas tourist spots

The Taal Lake Yacht Club sounds fancy and intimidating but it welcomes day tour visitors. Docked on the northern shore of Taal Lake, it can be conveniently reached from Tagaytay via Tagaytay-Calamba road and Ligaya Drive. Prior to the 2020 Taal Volcano eruption, the resort was best known for its volcano trek tour packages.

If such tours are no longer available, you can still enjoy water-related activities like sailing and kayaking. They also rent out Hobie catamaran units. It also allows day trip camping and offers tent rental. But if you have your own tent, you can bring it and just pay for the camping site or tent-pitching fee. It also permits photoshoots — non-commercial and commercial.

Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Daily). The schedule may change without prior notice. Please check the official website or FB page for schedule updates. Entrance Fee (Non-Members): P300/head Rates: P100/day (Camp Site); P500/day (4-Man Tent Rental + P1000 Deposit Fee); P400/day (hut rental, good for 10 pax); P300-350/head (Non-Commercial Shoot); P5000 Royalty Fee + P300-350/head (Commercial Shoot) Contact Details: For corporate events, photoshoots, and other queries, you may contact the management at 0917 838 3726, 0917 123 1403, the official website, and the official Facebook page. Getting There: The most recommended, convenient, and fastest way is via private car. Just take the Tagaytay-Calamba Road and then turn right to Ligaya Drive. Use Google Maps or Waze. 20. Santo Tomas

top 10 batangas tourist spots

It’s easy to dismiss Santo Tomas as simply a collection of industrial parks, subdivisions, and farmlands, but it also has a lot to offer to curious visitors.

Santo Tomas takes pride in gifting our motherland with one of its most prominent historical figures — Miguel Malvar , known as the last Filipino general to surrender to the Americans during the Philippine-American War. The Municipal Hall is fronted by the commanding Miguel Malvar Shrine and Monument , which pays tribute to the homegrown hero. Top 13 Batangas Tourist Spots to Visit

I was a 21 years old Engineering student in May 2016, when a company came to our school looking for future employees. My friends and I went, took a few exams, got an interview, and in just a few hours was told we had a job waiting for me in Batangas.

Yup, I was hired. We were hired. Needless to say, we were ecstatic. Since we still wanted to take the board exam in October 2016, the company allowed us to do our review and take the exam first. By October, I was an official ECE Engineer! Wohooo! I now have a valid ID.

Since we were already hired in May, we only had to sign the contract to start working fully. On November 7, 2016, my friends and I were now working in Batangas. But what made me say yes to the job? Was it the salary?

No, I was receiving less than 15k a month.

It was Batangas in itself that made me say yes. Before going to Batangas, I googled the place and found a lot of beaches and tourist spots. Growing up in the mountains, I’ve always wanted to live in an area where the beach was only a few minutes away.

But to my dismay, the beach was two hours away. Despite that, my stay in Batangas consisted of frequent trips to the beach and a few more adventures in Laguna.

Here are some of the places worth checking out in Batangas and its surrounding areas that I was able to visit. All of these are just 2 to 3 hours away from Manila, and they’re pretty cheap too.

Beach Camp Batangas

Love camping? You’ll love our list: Where to Beach Camp In Batangas for Less than 400 Pesos

With all of these places in Batangas, there are still tons of destinations that I still have to visit and travel to. I even created a list. The ones mentioned above are just 25 percent of what I’ve written down. I think any person who’d go to Batangas would also fall in love not only with their tourist spots but with the people, too.

After staying there for more than a year, people now ask me if I’m from Batangas because of my accent whenever I speak in Tagalog. Not to mention, the ‘eh’ at the end of every sentence. Haha.

And when I’m in Batangas, I revert to speaking like a Batangueno changing some words:

  • From dito to dine
  • From ito to are
  • From ba to ga
  • From market to palengke (haha!)

The last part was one of the hardest parts for me since we, people from the highlands, prefer to use some English words.

All in all, staying in Batangas is one of my greatest experiences.

With the amazing locals, I found myself falling in love with this place.

If you’ve read my About Me page , you probably already know that I used to work in Batangas. I hail from the Cordillera mountains – Benguet to be exact. When you think about the distance between the two provinces, you’d be asking me what most people ask ‘Why go there?’. Why, indeed.

Batangas is like a vacation banquet brimming with a buffet of delightful tourist destinations that cater to a multitude of preferences. Those who want to indulge in history will have a sweet time exploring the province’s historical sites such as the old churches and the heritage town of Taal. For those who want to have a taste of Batangas (literally!), food tripping will let you experience the mouthwatering cuisines while also doing a road trip. Woot!

PHBEACHKLOOK

And do I hear someone mentioning mountains and beaches ? I mean come on. Who can deny the fact that Batangas, through the years, has become a household name when it comes to summer and weekend destinations near Manila , whether swimming or hiking? If someone were to ask you to name a beach that is easily accessible from Metro Manila, the top-of-mind answer would be a beach in Batangas — 99.99% of the time. Beg to disagree? Fight the Batangueños. Hehe.

While finding sand as fine and white as that of Boracay is rare, the shores of Batangas will always have something interesting to offer weekend warriors. You can go beach camping, island hopping, snorkeling, and hiking-beach bumming combo. You can choose from light to dark, fine to coarse, and rocky to pebbly shores. Some of the beaches are well-developed offering accommodation options from budget to luxury resorts. The main draw really is its proximity to the metro, a mere two to three-hour drive to escape the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Here are 10 must-visit beaches in Batangas.

WHAT'S IN THIS GUIDE?

Verde Island (Batangas City)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Nestled in Verde Island Passage , this sleepy quiet fishing island in Batangas City is yet to reach its full potential, far from it actually, but it is starting to wake up from its slumber. Its location is an important site of marine biodiversity, hailed the center of the center, having the world’s highest concentration of marine species.

On the surface, the island and its shores are raw and bare, but its surrounding clear waters are a marriage between cerulean and sapphire hues. Mahabang Buhangin and Cueva Sitio are two of the usual destinations of those who seek the rugged and rough kind of beach getaway. If you just want a day trip, it will be more convenient to find a hotel in Batangas City.

Laiya Beach (San Juan)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

One of the most developed beaches in Batangas, Laiya in the municipality of San Juan is, not surprisingly, one of the most visited also because of its proximity to Manila. Lined with public and private resorits, its coast offers tourists with more than enough choice of accommodations, from budget to luxury.

If you are into hiking, Mt. Daguldul and Mt. Hugom are two coastal mountains in San Juan, Batangas. Some people hike first and then swim after. Others opt to stay overnight in one of the resorts in Laiya.

Masasa Beach (Tingloy)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Masasa Beach , located on the southern portion of the island municipality of Tingloy, has piqued the curiosity of weekend warriors, searching for something off-the-beaten track. The novelty seems to be less intense now, as more tourists discover this gem among must-visit beaches in Batangas. While there’s a steady increase in the number of people getting interested, some have already gone there, rewarding themselves with the peace and quiet this long stretch of fair sand and clear water offers when it was still under-the-radar.

Mang Oscar’s Beach (Tingloy)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

I first came to Mang Oscar’s Beach after hiking Mount Gulugod-Baboy in Mabini, Batangas. It was not part of our plan, but reaching the peaks, we glimpsed the vista of the bay, the Maricaban Strait and its islands (Sombrero and Maricaban), the city and the port, the mountains of Lobo (and even Mt. Maculot and Mt. Batulao). We’ve decided to go to Sombrero Island after the hike.

It was so spontaneous; therefore, we had a hard time finding an available boat to take us there. When we did find one, it was late afternoon already. In short, the boatman convinced us to go to a bigger island instead. Well, yeah, it was indeed a big island because it’s a whole municipality of Tingloy. Haha. We docked at what they refer to as Oscar Island , but it’s actually just one of the beaches in Tingloy . Like its sister Masasa, it has a stretch of off-white sand and clear waters where we took a dip and watched the sunset.

Calayo Beach (Nasugbu)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Nasugbu is one of those areas in Batangas that had an early taste of development. Its beaches are hide away in exclusive villages and subdivisions, requiring membership and/or advanced reservation to access them such as Hamilo Coast, Tali Beach Subdivision, Punta Fuego, Kawayan Cove, and Canyon Cove.

While some are privately-managed, most are still open to the public with no need for prior booking. Calayo Beach is one of such beaches, among other must-visit Beaches in Batangas. Calayo is a fishing village that is slowly transforming into a beach destination. It has fine light brown sand with blue-green waters. It is usually the jump-off point for Bituin Cove, Loren Island (or Pulo Island), and other nearby coves.

Pulo Island (Nasugbu)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Known to locals as Pulo Island or Pulo-pulo , Loren Island is like that one person who is easy to get along with yet still retain some kind of mystery. She will intrigue you. The cove part is welcoming with its mixture of fine and course beige sand, but the sloping beach just beside the cove and the beach behind will either intimidate you or challenge you with their rugged appearance highlighted by the rocky shores and unspoiled islet. She is sugar and spice.

The island is private property, supposedly owned by Loren Legarda, but tourists are welcome here for a minimal fee. There’s a small cove beside the sloping stretch of sand. It’s here where most of the visitors gather for a dip because the area is less rocky compared to the other parts of the island.

Bituin Cove (Nasugbu)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Bituin Cove , also known to locals as Angara Cove , is one of Nasugbu’s many pristine sand pockets gracing its coast. It’s a must-visit if you’re looking for Batangas beaches to chill at. The cove is located in Barangay Calayo, more than half an hour drive from the town proper of Nasugbu. Its sand is a mixture of coarse sand and shingles; the color is between beige and light brown. Aside from Calayo, Barangay Papaya can also be your jump-off point to the island-hopping tour that can take you to Bituin Cove.

Manuel Uy Beach (Calatagan)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Beach camping is one of the favorite summer activities of those who love the outdoors. From camping on the beach with bare necessities on one end, to its high-end counterpart, glamping, on the other end, beach camping spells two things — beach and camping. There are many beach camping spots in the Philippines; one of those near Manila is Manuel Uy Beach in Calatagan, Batangas. According to one of the staff, this long stretch of cream-colored sand is owned by the businessman, you guessed it right, Manuel Uy. Manuel Uy Beach is sandwiched by Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort and Aquaria Water Park.

Malabrigo Point (Lobo)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Malabrigo will always have a special place in my heart. There was a time when this secluded hard-to-reach beach had been my family’s summer hideaway, for four consecutive years. The beach was all ours, save for some residents (and swimmer dogs) and we always loved going to the lighthouse in the morning.

Instead of sand, Malabrigo’s shore is carpeted by smooth pebbles and stones, which I actually like because I don’t have to worry about sand in my hair and my swimwear. We once spotted a couple of dolphins playing from a distance one afternoon.

Matabungkay Beach (Lian)

top 10 batangas tourist spots

Matabungkay Beach had its glory days back in the ’50s until early ’90s. It was on top of any list of must-visit beaches in Batangas for family and company outings, weekend getaways with friends, and group excursions during its heyday. I was about eight years old when I first set foot on Matabungkay’s famed fine light gray sand that appears to be white when the sun is glaring. My second time was in 2007; last April this year was my third. It’s a long stretch of ashen sand lined with resorts, stores, and houses. Matabungkay Beach is also known for its floating bamboo raft cottages.
