A revamped sound, a Coachella set and a viral Justin Bieber video reeled in a new wave of fans for Los Angeles Azules , who will celebrate 40 years in music with a U.S. tour, Billboard has learned.

The Mexican musical group, formed by siblings of the Mejia Avante family — Elías, Alfredo, José Hilario, Jorge, Cristina and Guadalupe — in the early ‘80s, will kick off the “40 Años Tour” on Aug. 26 in Corpus Christi, Texas’ Selena Auditorium and is slated to wrap up on Nov. 27 at Reno Events Center in Nevada.

The group will then continue in 2022 with three confirmed dates to take place in March in Chicago, Milwaukee and Indianapolis.

All the Latin Tours Announced For 2021 (Updating)

With their catchy cumbia sonidera sound, Los Angeles Azules are known for hits such as “Como Te Voy a Olvidar” and “El Liston de tu Pelo.” In 2019, the group landed their first No. 1 in 19 years on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart (dated Jan. 26) with their Natalia Lafourcade -assisted single “Nunca es Suficiente.”

“Keeping cumbia alive has been very challenging,” Dr. Elias previously told Billboard . “The group has had its up and downs, but the most important part of all is taking cumbia to all parts of the world and that’s what’s happening.”

Tickets for the “40 Años Tour” will be available for presale at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday with code LAA40. They officially go on sale starting at 10 a.m. local time on Friday via Ticketmaster or the official Los Angeles Azules website .

NEWS: LOS ÁNGELES AZULES ANNOUNCE U.S. AND CANADA “THE LOVE OF MY LIFE” TOUR

Oakland, Calif. – October 30, 2023 – After having received the Lifetime Achievement Award a few weeks ago during the Billboard L atin Music Awards, cumbia icons Los Ángeles Azules today announced their return to the United States with a new show, “El Amore de mi Vida.”

The group of the Mejía Avante siblings begins their tour in February and for two months, will visit more than 25 cities including Oakland at the  Oakland Arena, Saturday, April 13, 2024 .  

The tour supports Los Ángeles Azules’ upcoming album set to be released at the end of this year which includes the song “El Amor de Mi Vida” with María Becerra, the single that gives its name to the tour. 

“El Amor de mi Vida” is currently in the Top 5 of Regional Mexican radio as well as Latin Airplay in Billboard in the U.S. Additionally, it has reached No. 1 in Mexico and Argentina for multiple consecutive weeks. The song’s music video has more than 53 million views and, since its premiere in August, has been among the Top 100 videos globally on YouTube.

“El Amor de mi Vida” will be performed live for the first time during the tour and will feature notable guests, including Jay de la Cueva and Ximena Sariñana.

Tickets go on sale starting Friday, November 3 at 10AM local time through Ticketmaster and losangelesazules.com.mx.

Bringing Their Show To Miami, Boston, And New Orleans For The First Time Ever

Following the end of their most successful US Tour,  Los Ángeles Azules  announced today their return to the States with their upcoming  De Iztapalapa Para el Mundo Tour.  

Produced by Live Nation, the  34-date tour  will begin on  August 26th  in  Denver’s Bellco Theater  making stops across the US before wrapping up in New Orleans, LA on April 1, 2023. The Mejía-Avante siblings will perform for the first time ever in cities such as  Miami, Boston, and New Orleans.  

With a completely revamped production, De Iztapalapa Para el Mundo will include special guests to perform the group’s most iconic songs, as well as their recent hits  “Cumbia a la gente”  and  “Otra noche.”.”  

De Iztapalapa Para El Mundo follows the band’s enormously successful 40 Años US Tour which amassed  more than 25 SOLD OUT  shows across the nation, including shows in New York, Dallas, Las Vegas, Chicago and two in Los Angeles. 

Only a few weeks back, Los Ángeles Azules announced their end-of-tour dates in South America and made history by selling out 5 consecutive shows at Buenos Aires’ legendary Luna Park in less than 5 days.

Following a year without offering live concerts, Los Ángeles Azules announce today their long-awaited “40 Años” Tour. With more than 25 concerts around the United States, the tour will make a stop at the Toyota Arena on November 24, 2021, in celebration of the group’s 40 years’ career.

Pre-sale tickets are available Thursday, April 22 using the code LAA40, and tickets will be on sale starting April 23rd, at 10 am (PT) via Ticketmaster.com.  

Be sure to pre-purchase your parking when you buy your ticket and save!  We only accept pre-paid parking or credit cards the day of the event.  Day of event parking may be at a higher price.

Hailing from Iztapalapa, Mexico, Los Ángeles Azules are cumbia’s largest exponents worldwide, having taken their music to the most important stages and international festivals such as Vive Latino and Coachella.

During the past year, despite live events being canceled, the Mejía-Avante siblings continued achieving milestone after milestone and hit after hit. Their most recent album, De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo, debuted #8 on Billboard’s Top Regional Mexican Albums’ Chart, the group’s 12th album to enter the chart’s Top 10. Currently, the album’s music videos surpass 450 million views on YouTube.

Last August, Los Angeles Azules became the first Mexican group to enter YouTube’s prestigious Billion Views’ Club when the music video for “Nunca Es Suficiente” feat. Natalia Lafourcade reached one million views. Weeks later, Los Angeles Azules became the only Mexican act to have 2 videos with over 1 billion views on YouTube when the music video for “Mis Sentimientos” feat. Ximena Sariñana also achieved the milestone.

Recently, the group was recognized with the Premio Lo Nuestro- Cumbia Legacy Award.

LOS ÁNGELES AZULES Presentan su nuevo lanzamiento, “EL AMOR DE MI VIDA”

Con más de 45 años de trayectoria, Los Ángeles Azules han trascendido fronteras para convertirse en un auténtico ícono cultural de la música mexicana. Sus innumerables éxitos han encontrado eco entre oyentes de todo el mundo, y su lista de colaboraciones con artistas de talla internacional sigue creciendo.

En esta ocasión, llegan directo a la Argentina de la mano de la talentosa Maria Becerra, una de las artistas revelación de la escena de la música urbana, quien, con tan sólo 23 años, se ha consolidado como una auténtica referente para las nuevas generaciones y la artista Argentina más escuchada a nivel global. Hoy en día cuenta con más de 26 millones de oyentes mensuales en Spotify y su canal oficial de YouTube más de 2.5 mil millones de visitas.

Ambos artistas unen su versatilidad y su capacidad para conquistar corazones de todo el mundo a través de una colaboración que se titula “El amor de mi vida”, en donde la voz de Maria inunda el sonido de la cumbia de la agrupación mexicana con el inconfundible timbre de su voz.

Este sencillo llega como una de las mayores apuestas para el próximo disco de Los Ángeles Azules, quienes se han caracterizado por presentar colaboraciones con un éxito indiscutible, como su más reciente lanzamiento “Tú y tú” junto a Santa Fe Klan y Cazzu, tema que ya suma más de 58 millones de reproducciones en YouTube.

Compuesta por la propia Maria Becerra junto a Horacio Palencia, Andy Clay Cruz y Nina Mínguez, “El amor de mi vida” contó con la producción de Jorge Mejía, integrante de la agrupación, y Rodolfo Lugo, quienes lograron un material impecable con el estilo único de Los Ángeles Azules.

Para complementar la presentación del tema, los hermanos Mejía protagonizan su video oficial junto a Maria Becerra, el cual ilustra la romántica canción interpretada por la originaria de Argentina. El clip fue grabado en Buenos Aires bajo la dirección de Julian Levy y Lucas Fossati.

Quiero hacerte el amor, pero el amor de mi vida retumba en cada compás de esta colaboración, la cual ya está disponible en todas las plataformas digitales para ser disfrutada por sus fieles seguidores y nuevos oyentes, demostrando una vez más, que Los Ángeles Azules son el grupo de cumbia más importante del continente, y cuya influencia llegó a la afamada artista y compositora Maria Becerra, para llevar su música “¡de Iztapalapa y Argentina para el mundo!”.

“Esta es una colaboración muy importante para mí, y no puedo estar más feliz de que sea con Los Ángeles Azules. Ellos han sido la banda sonora de mi casa y fiestas familiares, y eso es lo que quisimos reflejar en el video con mi familia siendo parte porque sentimos que es la esencia de la canción”, comenta Maria Becerra sobre este lanzamiento.

Por otro lado, Los Ángeles Azules estarán en Colombia el próximo sábado 23 de Septiembre en la segunda edición del exitosoFestival Cordilleraque se llevará a cabo en el Parque Simón Bolívar de la ciudad de Bogotá. Allí los seguidores de esta exitosa banda esperan escuchar canciones de su último álbum Cumbia del Corazón que cuenta con más de 288 millones de reproducciones en YouTube, y tiene colaboraciones con reconocidos artistas como Nicki Nicole, Juanes, David Bisbal y Sofía Reyes.

Los Angeles Azules tour 2024 announced : Los Angeles Azules, considered one of the world's largest cumbia ambassadors, will return to the United States for the "the Iztapalapa Para el Mundo Tour". The extensive tour, which takes place in the fall of 2022 and the spring of 2023, includes 34 dates and includes the very first band shows in cities like Miami, Boston and New Orleans.

Cumbia sonidera veterans Los Ángeles Azules have announced an epic U.S. tour beginning later in 2022 supporting their new album 'De Buenos Aires Para El Mundo'. Their De Iztapalapa Para El Mundo tour kicks off August 26th in Denver and extends into 2023 making notable stops in Las Vegas, Inglewood, El Paso, Miami, New York, Seattle and Rosemont. The band recently wrapped up their 40th anniversary tour which took place in 2021. After the end of their most successful US tour, Los Angeles Azules announced their return to the US with their upcoming "the Iztapalapa Para el Mundo Tour". The 34-day tour begins August 26 at the Bellco Theater in Denver and will stop in the United States before finishing in New Orleans, LA on April 1, 2023. During the tour, the brothers and sisters Mejía-Avante will perform for the first time in several cities. Los Angeles Azules 2024 tickets for Los Angeles Azules' "the Iztapalapa Para el Mundo Tour" will be sold at 10:00 local time on Friday, April 22.
