While they have been the leaders of creating cutting edge technology in the golf ball industry, they also make great clubs and golf bags. Titleist has a long history with the game of golf and continues to make awesome products for every part of your game.

The Titleist golf bags are no different. They have a big selection of cart bags, stand bags, and even a few hybrid bags as well. In this post, I’ll focus on reviewing the best Titleist golf stand bags to help you decide the right one for your game.

Titleist Golf Stand Bag 2021 Review

Titleist has three options for its stand bag collection:

• Players 4 Stand Bag (Least expensive model)
• Players 4 Plus Stand Bag (Mid-range golf bag)
• Players 4 STADRY Stand Bag (Most expensive)

Players 4 Stand Bag

This is the lowest-price stand bag from Titleist, but it still comes with plenty of features like:

Players 4 STADRY Stand Bag

The Players 4 STADRY stand bag is made for playing golf in the rain. If you’re a golfer who doesn’t mind battling the conditions, this is probably the golf bag for you. It has all of the features of the previous two bags plus STADRY waterproof construction with seam-sealed zippers. This ensures your gear will stay dry so you can focus on the game, not the weather.

The Players 4 STADRY weighs the same (3.8 pounds) as the Players 4 Stand Bag. It also comes in different colors than the others but would recommend going with darker ones if you’re playing in muddy, wet conditions. While the all-white bag looks sleek, I can’t see it lasting too long in tough conditions.

As I mentioned in the intro, Titleist also offers a hybrid golf bag collection as well. These bags are heavier than stand bags (around 5.6 pounds) but much lighter than cart bags. If you’re looking for a more sturdy bag and aren’t walking every time, this could be a good option for you.

The Titleist Hybrid 14 bag comes with the same high-grade aluminum legs and advanced hinged bottom for best-in-class stability and durability. It also has a self-balance convertible strap system and also comes with a cart strap tunnel to easily access your pockets.

There are two big perks this bag has over the normal stand bags. First, it has a total of eight pockets including a double apparel pocket for maximum storage. The other major perk is the 14-way club divider.

This is similar to the Sun Mountain and provides maximum protection for all of your golf clubs. It’s a cart-friendly design and superior organization makes it a top alternative to a traditional, lightweight stand bag.

TaylorMade Stand Bag 5.0

Another comparable golf bag is the TaylorMade 5.0 Stand Bag but it comes in at about half the price of the Titleist stand bags. It provides a ton of storage for all your golf gadgets and has a beautiful, lightweight design. This bag has a 5-way organizational top and six pockets for all of your golfing needs.

How to Choose the Right Titleist Golf Stand Bag

Titleist gives you a lot of options when it comes to picking the right stand bag for your game. All of them are comfortable, lightweight, and easy to carry for 18 holes. The biggest factors to consider are waterproof capabilities, price, and color.

If you’re playing golf in the rain frequently, I would spend the extra money to get the STADRY as there isn’t much worse than having your gear get soaked. The other big thing to consider is color. While all of them come in the standard black, white, and red colors, each model has its own unique set as well.

The Titleist stand bags are more expensive than most, I think it’s worth the money based on long-term use and comfort. Unless you need 14 club dividers, I would recommend the stand bag over a hybrid version.

Ultimately, there isn’t a ton of difference between the three models but all carry on the tradition for Titleist making exceptional products. Personally, I’ve used a version of the Titleist stand bag for the past seven years and have nothing but positive experience. The colors last, the stand never fails, and the bag never rips.

Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag Review

As a junior golfer, I grew up always wanting to have a Titleist golf bag. The best players in the junior team had them, the scratch team used them, and when you turned up to a county event - again - the best players seemed to have them.

There's no denying that they're a very desirable piece of golf equipment, from the classic looks to the premium build quality. Who wouldn't want to walk the fairways with the iconic red, white and black colours on their back?

So when the chance came to test out the new Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag from the 2019 Players and Hybrid Bag collections , I couldn't wait to get out on the course...

What's It All About?

The Players 4 Plus StaDry is based around a lightweight construction with waterproof protection, as you'd expect from the any bag carrying the well-regarded StaDry name.

To ensure protection from the elements there are also seam-sealed zippers, along with sturdy high-grade aluminium legs and an angled advanced hinged bottom, which adds stability and durability to the base of your bag.

The main talking point with this model is convertible strap system, said to be self-balancing for an easy fit, whilst dual-density foam provides extra comfort for those who prefer to carry.

There are five different colourways available, including Black, White and Navy.

Titleist Says...

Every element to protect you from the elements.

I played 18 holes of golf at Bramall Park Golf Club in the height of the late British summertime. We also put it through the (very scientific) Golfalot waterproof test - pour a litre bottle of water over the bag - to see whether it could keep my belongings nice and dry too.

I wanted to see whether the new generation of Titleist stand bags still live up to the eye-watering price tag (£245 RRP) and generation-spanning reputation.

First Impressions

What else can you really say about this bag? It's special looking.

It's the kind of bag which you makes you want to go out and play golf. The kind that makes you want to stay in and clean your clubs on a Friday night before playing in the Monthly Medal.

As you'd expect from Titleist, the build quality looked good from the outset, with attention to detail paid towards the small things that really matter on a golf bag: the zips, legs and pockets.

Upon first inspection, there seemed to be plenty of room for waterproofs, bananas, balls, towels - anything you'd need for a round of golf basically.

On The Course

The bag weighs in at 1.8kg which sounds pretty good, and so I was pretty confident that it would serve me well during 18 holes of golf. Once I had put 14 clubs, tees and balls in there, it was perhaps slightly heavier than I was expecting it to be, although I wouldn't say it would put me off carrying with it again. For most golfers, the weight of this bag won't be an issue.

There are four large full-length dividers separating the bag at the top, and these were great. The clubs sat well inside the bag, were easy to get in and out, and there was plenty of space for all 14 including thicker grips and a fat putter grips. This 4-way design isn't new but it works and had enough cushioning to avoid any unwanted bag wear on my shafts.

Titleist also now puts a handy handle at the top cuff too, complete with Titleist logo, which does a good job of framing your golf clubs as well as making it easy to lift the bag out of the car or onto a trolley or buggy.

The bag's four pockets provide plenty of space and were overall very impressive. The main pocket at the bottom of the bag, which is where I expect most golfers to put their balls and tees, is huge. You could easily fit a dozen balls into it. No complaints there.

On the surface, things seemed pretty good with this bag. However on closer inspection, I encountered issues. The valuables pocket was a little disappointing. Although it had a nice premium velour lining, it also had some mesh netting in there which I felt made the pocket a nuisance. It was quite hard to get my valuables out as a result, and to be honest I didn't think the quality was that good as the thread started to come loose whilst I used it. Not great for £245...

The convertible strap is a nice option to have if you just wanted to sling the bag over one shoulder, although it's not really light enough to use with one strap unless you're taking a half set out, so I don't think I'd get much use from it.

Whilst the shoulder straps had plenty of cushioning for good overall support, the actual length of the straps was an issue - I just couldn't get this thing comfortable on my back! It just felt rigid and unmanageable every time I picked the bag up to put over my right shoulder specifically, it began to get a little annoying in truth.

Likewise, the back cushioning pad looked good but didn't really offer too much padding and began to rub on my lower back as the round went on. A problem if you're in summer if you're just wearing a polo shirt (which I was).

However the legs and leg deployment device, which I have also found to be good on Titleist bags, were nice and wide and felt very stable.

I also performed the waterproof test on the bag, and it passed with flying colours. Just like Titleist promised, your gear certainly does StaDry.

Finally, for those looking to mount this bag on a trolley, I found the base of the bag fit perfectly onto my Powakaddy trolley , which is a great bonus and means the bag can be used all year-round. It's not just a waterproof bag for rainy days.

Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag Verdict

To summarise, I think this bag is a good example of style over substance. There are some great qualities which you would expect from Titleist, given their long reputation for premium, reliable gear.

However some fundamental errors made the bag a little awkward for general use. The convertible strap was pretty pointless, the comfort itself wasn't great, and at £245 the bag really is overpriced when compared to other quality stand bags I have seen this year. The TaylorMade FlexTech and Motocaddy AquaFlex will offer you more bang for your buck.

Having said that, the 4 Plus StaDry is just one of a wide range of bags released by Titleist this year , including the Hybrid 5 and Cart Bag options which we have reviewed. So even if this one is not to your taste I'm sure there will be something else which will do just the job.

Would I Use It?

To contradict myself here - yes, I would. It may not be the most practical, or most comfortable bag in the world, but that 'style over substance' has really won me over. You pay for the Titleist name and the looks and in this case, I definitely would.

Same as buying an old classic sports car, it's not the most comfortable or most reliable thing in the world. But it looks fantastic and comes with a reputation which might make it all worthwhile in the end.

• StaDry tech no doubt works. Fully waterproof
• Pockets are all a good size, especially balls pocket
• Sturdy and wide-spreading legs
• Compatible with latest electric trolley's on market
• Plenty of space in the divider for 14 clubs
• Uncomfortable straps to wear - right-hand 'convertible strap' does not work effectively
• Plenty of other bags that are as good quality and more affordable
• Valuables pocket was a nuisance
• Back cushioning pad is thin and offers little padding

User reviews.

I was looking for a small/medium sized waterproof stand bag which could also double as a trolley bag. I wanted straps that could be easily removed for when fitting to a trolley. This appeared to fit the bill, but there are some significant flaws in the design which made me return the bag for a refund.

The biggest design flaw is the hood, which I can only describe as an after-thought. When fitted it easily slides forward exposing a large gap at the top of the bag into the clubs. This should not seem like a big deal, but this is sold as a premium waterpoof bag - having a gaping hole in the top which allows rain in to soak the clubs and grips is just stupid. A simple popper in the hood would have made this so much better, but the 'Titleist' logo would have to be moved. It's as if they only thought about the design of the hood (which covers the biggest hole in the bag) after they had completed the design of their expensive 'waterproof' bag.

Also: The straps are too grippy which makes it difficult to mount the bag on your shoulders without twisting one of the straps.

The two additional pockets are poor design as a well as they sit between the two main side pockets and the bag. They are fine to use when the side pockets are empty, but fill these up and the additional pockets become a pain to use.

The removeable straps would suggest that this bag is also designed to fit on a trolley. The stand design, typical of a lot of other stand bags, is bad as well as they protrude out a lot at the top and therefore make it difficult to mount on a trolley. I didn't try the bag on the course but loaded up with clubs it felt like the bag required a hefty shove to deploy the legs.

Of that bag? I purchased a LinksMaster Legend but was not happy with the small size.  Way too small.

I sold it but want a cool Bag.  I don't carry anymore. I push 1/2 the time (Clic Gear 4.0) And Ride the other half.

I agree with him. The bag is incredibly small.  (the top espeically).       

Clubs gets stuck constantly. Pockets are too small and tight. Shoulder straps don’t fit me well… this bag is looks only for me.

It’s amazing. It was one of those situations where I wanted to like the bag so much. imo it’s the best looking bag. But they said just screw it when it comes to function.

I bought this bag and sold it for a big loss.

It is WAY too big.

Found a players 4+ finally which is the perfect bag.

I was going to get one, just for the "prestige", but I am relooking due to these comments.

I didn’t buy one….my observations that kept me from buying were:

- Much too heavy for a carry bag and too small to use on a cart.  - I don’t keep and “store” a bunch of sh## in my bag so I typically don’t much care about “storage”, but on this bag the pockets are crazy tight and I wouldn’t want to jam my hand in my $400+ bag and rip the pocket.

A really good option for golfers who don’t want to be caught short on space when weather conditions demand a fuller load. Probably better as a trolley/cart option than a carrying bag.

There have been great strides in recent years to make the best golf bags as light and spacious as possible. However, there is almost inevitably still a bit of a compromise between these two desirable attributes.

The Titleist Hybrid 14 stand bag bridges the divide pretty well, although at 6.1lbs, or 2.8kg, it probably favours space over weight. Perhaps this is because the bag is hailed as a hybrid, so equally at home on a trolley as on your back.

It's worth noting that it works well in both scenarios, even if perhaps a little weighty with a full load. It will undoubtedly sit better on some trolley cradles and brackets than others due to its essentially elliptical shape, but there is so much to like about the Titleist Hybrid 14 stand bag. 

First up, it has a 14-way divider top, which many golfers find useful for enhanced club organisation. It’s funny how much harder it can be to locate the vacant slot after a poor shot, but we guess that depends on how organised you are. If you know the precise slot your 4-iron should always sit in, you’ll find it with ease!

The space in the main double pockets for clothing (two of nine pockets in total) is impressive. You should always be able to accommodate the full extent of the wardrobe that the weather demands without fighting the zips, making it a contender for being one of the best Titleist golf bags .

Along with the space is the double strap system, which is comfortable and easy to adjust. Although it’s not the most padded on the market, this does mean it will absorb less moisture in the wet.

The ball pocket and ‘bits and pieces pocket’ that sit above it are a really good size and well positioned. The front of the ball pocket can zip fully off (for logo purposes, we imagine) so do make sure the side gussets are Velcroed shut before unzipping too fully.

Finally, after years of shunning the marker pen slot, we have become converts, finally fed up of sharp pencils or tees slipping under a fingernail as we rummage in among all our bits and pieces to try and find one.

We’re not quite sure why it’s taken us so long to appreciate the benefits of this simple, handy feature! And it's just one of many that make this Titleist Hybrid 14 stand bag well worth considering next time you're in the market.
