'Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip' on Fox — everything you need to know

Gordon, Gino and Fred are back on the road again — and this time they're discovering North America

Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip

Following the huge success of his European adventures, Gordon Ramsay is back, and this time his mammoth new RV "Betty the Beast" will be hitting the highways to travel from Mexico to Texas for his most outrageous road trip yet.

It's Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip — and this is everything you need to know about the foodie show.

How to watch Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip

Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip is available in the U.S. on Fox, at 8 p.m. Eastern time starting Tuesday, Jan. 5.

After that you'll be able to watch it on Fox on demand.

The one-night special will see the tight-knit trio taking in the sights and culinary delights of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Texas and Tijuana.

Fox is available on most every major streaming service in the United States. (With the exception of Sling TV, which only has Fox in select markets.)

Our recommendation is to check out FuboTV . In addition to local Fox networks, FuboTV has a competitive list of channels, as well as premium add-ons. And it's even better if you're a sports fan, with options for international events that you can't find anywhere else.

Get the What to Watch Newsletter

The latest updates, reviews and unmissable series to watch and more!

FuboTV starts at $59.99 a month the most basic package of 95 channels, and you can build things up from there.

How to watch Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip from anywhere in the world

If you're not in your usual Fox viewing market and still want to watch Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip, a VPN might be just the thing that keeps the food juices flowing.

A VPN allows your network traffic to flow through a specific set of servers in a specific country. So if you want to watch Fox in the U.S., you can watch Fox in the U.S.

The only catch is you need to be able to trust your VPN provider, because all of your network traffic — encrypted and unencrypted alike — will be flowing through it. For that, we've long been fans of ExpressVPN .

ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is one of the easiest and affordable ways to watch what you want from anywhere you want to watch it. Plus it'll help keep your network traffic away from any prying eyes on public networks.

And it's a great way to watch all the Gordon Ramsay you want —  from anywhere in the world.

Who stars in Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip?

No-nonsense Gordon is joined by fellow celebrity chefs Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix, both of whom are familiar faces on British TV.

Gino is a renowned (and hilarious) Italian celebrity chef, who rose to fame as a regular chef on daytime TV show This Morning in the UK and is also a panelist on Keith Lemon's show Celebrity Juice .

As well as cooking up a storm on TV, Gino also has a hugely successful line of cookbooks in the UK.

Fred is a famous French Maitre d'hotel and has appeared on shows like Channel 4's First Dates and BBC Two's Million Pound Menu.

What happens in Gordon Ramsay's American Road Trip?

Along the way the trio’s antics will include wallet-busting burgers, dune buggy racing, goat yoga, spear fishing, cowboy capers and wild wrestling — not to mention an array of interesting ingredients, including tequila in a salad!

What could possibly go wrong?

As always there is plenty of hilarious banter, bickering and ego-bashing thrown in for good measure.

With Gino and Fred both loyal to their European roots, will Gordon be able to convince the culinary experts that food in the US lives up to its reputation for being bigger and better than anywhere else in the world?

While the trio might try to outdo one another as they sample the local delicacies and fight to be crowned the next king of the kitchen, they all have one thing in common — a shared passion for good food.

Gordon Ramsay on Why He Loves Norway — and Eating the Best Scallops He's Ever Tasted for 'Uncharted' Season 2 (Video)

Plus: fjord fine dining, Norwegian gin, and Europe's next up-and-coming food city.

Since 1971, Travel + Leisure editors have followed one mission: to inform, inspire, and guide travelers to have deeper, more meaningful experiences. T+L's editors have traveled to countries all over the world, having flown, sailed, road tripped, and taken the train countless miles. They've visited small towns and big cities, hidden gems and popular destinations, beaches and mountains, and everything in between. With a breadth of knowledge about destinations around the globe, air travel, cruises, hotels, food and drinks, outdoor adventure, and more, they are able to take their real-world experience and provide readers with tried-and-tested trip ideas, in-depth intel, and inspiration at every point of a journey.

Gordon Ramsay is perhaps best known for his swaggering personality as a TV chef — and, of course, the many restaurants and Michelin stars he has to his name. But on top of the success of Hell's Kitchen and his cooking competition show empire, Ramsay has recently taken on a new role: travel host.

On Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted , the celebrated chef travels to remote destinations around the world to learn from locals about the ways they eat, drink, and live. Season two, which premiered on National Geographic on June 7, sees Ramsay traveling from Tasmania to Guyana, Sumatra to the Louisiana bayou. But one of the chef's favorite destinations from filming was just a few hundred miles from his home in London.

For Travel + Leisure 's May Europe issue, we spoke with the chef about his culinary adventures in Norway , home to both centuries-long culinary traditions and some of the most innovative cooking on the continent. Catch his Scandinavian experiences in the series finale on July 19, and read on for a sneak peak of Ramsay's Norway highlights.

Travel + Leisure : Why did you want to go to Norway for this season of Uncharted ?

Gordon Ramsay: "Norway’s cuisine is among the finest in Europe. Of course, I was familiar with amazing Norwegian seafood and cured fish products, but I didn’t know much about the other incredible ingredients and classic dishes. So I was curious to learn more about the region, and to see the people and ingredients that make this the amazing place it is. Plus, I love diving — diving in the fjords in winter sounded so thrilling."

What were some of the most memorable meals that you had in Norway?

"On one cold, exhilarating day, I got to dive for scallops off the southwestern coast. I’ve never had scallops from such a pristine setting, but more importantly, I've never had scallops that tasted so fresh. But I’d have to say the most unusual meal was reindeer blood pancakes….I don’t think those will make it onto the Ramsay Christmas menu any time soon!"

What was your favorite culinary destination in Norway?

"When it comes to food, Bergen can’t be beat. I absolutely fell in love with Norway's second-largest city while we were filming. The mountains, the fjords, the Nordic design. Everything about it is stunning. I tasted some of the best seafood of my life during my few days there. When you have such incredible ingredients in your backyard — from sheep to rockfish to reindeer — the food is going to be top-notch."

Did you have a favorite meal there?

"My guide in Norway was chef Christopher Haatuft, who helped put New Nordic cuisine on the map with his trailblazing Bergen restaurant Lysverket . My meal there was incredible. Christopher and his team are known for elevating traditional recipes like fish soup using fjord-sourced produce and modern techniques. Obviously, he is at the top of his game, and the food he serves out of that tiny kitchen is outstanding."

What else should food-lovers look for in Norway?

"One cool discovery was fanaost , a Gouda-style cheese that’s produced at a farm called Ostegården and recently won first place in the World Cheese Awards. Even the drinking was amazing. Bareksten Spirits in Bergen is producing a London Dry Gin that any Brit would go crazy for. If you visit in the winter, try to go in December for the Christmas market and Norwegian Christmas treats. But the summer is also breathtaking. Sit outside, take in the amazing setting with a local beer, and enjoy the freshest seafood you’ll have anywhere in the world."

A version of this story first appeared in the May 2020 issue of Travel + Leisure under the headline Bergen on My Mind.

Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip’ On Fox, A Special Where The Chef And Two Worldly Buddies Explore American Cuisine

Whoopi Goldberg Shuts Down Rumors She Was On The Epstein List On 'The View': "I Have Nothing To Hide"

'no taste like home with antoni porowski' will see the 'queer eye' star serving food history on nat geo, stream it or skip it: 'kitchen nightmares' season 8 on fox, where gordon ramsay tries to fix dysfunctional restaurants for the first time since 2014, stream it or skip it: 'gordon ramsay's food stars' on fox, where the famously hot-tempered chef gets his 'apprentice' on.

Gordon Ramsay ‘s American Road Trip is actually an edited version of the 2nd season of  Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip , a series that aired on ITV in Britain and is on the UK version of BritBox. That’s important to note, because it means this wasn’t just a random road trip for Ramsay and his buddies Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix, it was a well-planned season of a food and travel show. But, by taking a four-episode, 3-plus-hour season and whittling it down to 82 minutes (without ads), does the show still make sense?

GORDON RAMSAY’S AMERICAN ROAD TRIP : STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?

The Gist: Gordon Ramsay, whose shows seemingly fill up half of Fox’s primetime schedule, took his two best friends, Italian chef Gino D’Acampo and French maître d’hôtel Fred Siriex, in a souped-up RV on a road trip through the western United States and Tijuana.  Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip is the result.

Actually, as mentioned above, this is an edited-down version of the second season of the ITV series Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip , where the trio took the RV, nicknamed “Betty,” on the road from Tijuana to Las Vegas and Arizona, back to Los Angeles, up to San Francisco, and then back down and over to Texas. Along the way, the friends do different American things, like work on a dude ranch, race buggies on a track (where Gino somehow crashes into Betty, inexplicably parked near the track), go fishing, and try their hand at real Texas barbecue for a crowd or rodeo workers.

But, the special — edited in a way so that they start in Las Vegas, go to AZ, then LA, then SF,  then Mexico and Texas — also shows the years-long friendship between Ramsay, D’Acampo and Siriex. They make silly bets with each other; at Gordon’s LA mansion, Fred and Gino bet Gordon that the burger that Gordon’s mom likes better will have to dive into Gordon’s pool buck naked. They bust each others’ balls, as Gordon scares Gino with the stuffed deead animals adorning the cabin they stayed in after fishing.

They also discover the west via various cuisines, like when they race to make fortune cookies in San Fran’s Chinatown, or when they go to Snow’s BBQ in Texas to talk to pitmaster Tootsie Tomanetz .

What Specials Will It Remind You Of?: A goofier version of Ramsay’s other travel series, Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.

Performance Worth Watching: Gino D’Acampo readily admits he’s not the manliest alpha male around, but it’s fun watching him get scared in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon or duck into the gondola of a hot air balloon over Napa.

Memorable Dialogue: After Gino tries to wedge the RV down Lombard Street in SF, he tells Gordon he could have made it. “Just because you’re the king of the kitchen, doesn’t mean you’re the king of the street.”

Sex and Skin: Besides seeing these three middle-aged men skinny dipping in Texas, or Gino wearing assless chaps (appropriately blurred out for American network television), there’s nothing.

Our Take: The disjointedness of  Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip made me wonder if this wasn’t intended to be a special, and my suspicion was confirmed when I found that it was the second season of  Gordon, Gino’s and Fred’s Road Trip. That season was only four 45-50 minute episodes, but that also means that more than half of the trip was sliced out to accommodate the 85-minute (without commercials) running time for Fox. The rejiggering of the order, as well as the seeming incompleteness of the trip, makes the special tough to watch.

There’s also the fact that, like in  Uncharted , Ramsay uses his locales and the people in it more as a backdrop for his cooking and the shenanigans of him and his buddies than as a deep exploration of the people and culture of a region, and how it’s communicated through its food. Not that it’s a bad thing; not everyone needs to be the late Anthony Bourdain or, as Taste The Nation showed, Padma Lakshmi. But there are points during the special where they come off as Ugly Europeans, picking off the most stereotypical of American experiences but not digging any deeper.

Because of his experience in the States, Ramsay seems to be more interested in the deeper American culture than his buddies, no matter what they say about always wanting to be cowboys or some such. It’s a bit jarring, but a lot of that may be hyped up for the cameras.

What we liked the most about the special was the friendship between Gordon, Gino and Fred. Yes, it’s pretty immature at times, given the fact that all of these men are well into their 40s and 50s. But they also keep each other in check, and any program that shows Ramsay on a human level instead of a mouth yelling curses, which seems to be how Fox wants him to look, is a bonus. But there’s too much about this special that made us cringe.

Our Call: SKIP IT. If you can get hold of  Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip , watch that instead of the Frankensteined version of it.  Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip doesn’t say enough about Ramsay, his buddies or America to be worth your time.

Should you stream or skip #GordonsRoadTrip on @FOXTV ? #SIOSI — Decider (@decider) January 6, 2021

If Gordon Ramsay had a dollar for every time he shouted the F-word … he'd probably still be the multi-millionaire he is today.

The global celebrity chef places 19th on Forbes ' list of the world's highest-paid celebrities and has amassed a substantial fortune. Ramsay's net worth isn't known, but estimates range from $220 million to $750 million.

But the star chef wasn't always surrounded by the trappings of success that he enjoys today.

Ramsay grew up in an abusive household and relied at times on handouts from neighbors. It was only through dedication and perfectionism that he made it to the top of his game.

"I'd like to be remembered for perfection. Because it's an absolute bitch to get right, but when it is, it's the most beautiful fucking thing on the planet," he told GQ .

This is how the foul-mouthed, Michelin-starred celebrity chef made his way up in the world.

Gordon Ramsay grew up in council housing on the outskirts of Glasgow

gordon ramsay travel

Gordon James Ramsay was born in Johnstone, a town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1966.

His mother was a nurse, and his father, also called Gordon, was a swimming pool manager, welder, and shopkeeper.

In his autobiography, Humble Pie, Ramsay revealed that his father had abused and neglected his children.

'He hit us when he was drunk, things were thrown, we had to run for our lives. We spent many nights, weekends, hidden in DHSS rooms," Ramsay told the Daily Telegraph in 2008.

When Ramsay was nine, he moved with his parents and three siblings to Stratford-upon-Avon in England. He did not reconcile with his father, who died in 1997.

After an injury killed his hopes for a career in soccer, Ramsay pursued cooking

gordon ramsay travel

Ramsay had aspired to be a professional soccer player as a child and by the age of 12 had made it onto a national youth team. He had been training with the Scottish team Rangers for several months when a knee injury ended his career as a sportsman.

Instead, he turned to the kitchen, a decision which he later called "a complete accident."

After studying hotel management at North Oxfordshire Technical College, he started work as a commis chef in the mid-80s.

An apprenticeship under legend Marco Pierre White taught the young chef how to run a serious kitchen

gordon ramsay travel

When he was 19, Ramsay entered the kitchen of Marco Pierre White.

White was the first British chef to be awarded three coveted Michelin stars and is often called the first "celebrity chef." He ran the kitchen at his restaurant Harvey's in the high-pressure, cutthroat style notorious at the time, but now viewed as toxic by some restauranteurs .

White was known for being volatile and even made the famously tough Ramsay cry.

Though the two chefs had a long-running feud, Ramsay has credited White with instilling a perfectionist mentality in him and showing him he could reach for the impossible.

"I stood alongside Marco for two years. Side-by-side for 16 hours a day. It was relentless," he said in a 2023 episode of the High Performance Podcast .

"I was in that pursuit of perfection and this guy put food on a plate like Picasso. I wanted to get that level of discipline."

"I was hungry" — Ramsay worked his way through restaurants, reaching for Michelin star glory

gordon ramsay travel

After a couple of years at Harvey's, he moved to the 3-Michelin Star French Restaurant, Le Gavroche; and also apprenticed under French icons like Albert Roux, Pierre Koffman, Guy Savoy, and Joel Robuchon.

In 1993, he took on his first gig as head chef in the restaurant Aubergine in London. After just three years, Ramsay earned the restaurant a two-star Michelin rating , and in 1995, he was named Newcomer of the Year at the prestigious Catey Awards.

"I was hungry. I was in pursuit of something to better myself," Ramsay said in an interview with the High Performance Podcast .

By 1997, he had founded his first restaurant group, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, and started gathering a handful more Michelin Stars. But it was in 2001 that he received the coveted accolade of three stars from the Michelin Guide for his flagship restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

He was only the second British chef to be awarded three stars at the time, after White.

In 2005, Ramsay started appearing on American TV screens. He hasn't left since

gordon ramsay travel

After hitting the Michelin milestone, Ramsay began his journey into the world of TV.

After a brief debut on the British show "Boiling Point" in 1999, he started hosting the British versions of shows like "Hell's Kitchen," "The F-Word," and "Kitchen Nightmares."

In 2005, "Hell's Kitchen" made its way across the pond to the US, soon followed by "Kitchen Nightmares."

It was through the screen that his fans fell in love with his brash, profanity-laden persona and the occasional heartwarming pride he held for the chefs brave enough to sign up for his shows.

"Hell's Kitchen" is now in its 22nd US season and draws in millions of viewers.

According to Forbes , Ramsay's shows accounted for more than $150 million yearly in ad sales for Fox in 2020.

Alongside show business, Ramsay has continued building an empire of 58 restaurants

gordon ramsay travel

The chef's growing celebrity persona helped attract hungry fans to his growing network of restaurants.

From casual bars & grills to 3-Michelin star white table experiences that can set you back more than $1,000, Ramsay has built a sweeping empire of restaurants.

During the COVID pandemic, Ramsay said that his restaurants lost $80 million in turnover. But today, the British chef owns 58 restaurants in countries including the UK, the US, China, Malaysia, and France.

His signature establishment, and one of the most opulent, is Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the affluent area of Chelsea, London. Other renowned favorites include Hell's Kitchen, The Fat Cow, Pétrus, and Le Pressoir D'Argent.

The Ramsay empire is still expanding and a second location of Gordon Ramsay Burger at the Flamingo Las Vegas was recently announced. The restaurant will cover 8,000 square feet and will be his seventh restaurant in Sin City, according to Eater.

Ramsay's family helped soften his fiery temper

gordon ramsay travel

Ramsay married his wife, Tana, in 1996 when he was 29.

Tana, a former Montessori-trained teacher, chef, and cookbook author had been engaged to someone else when she met Ramsay at a New Year's Eve party in London, she told the Guardian in 2008.

The couple initially struggled to conceive and went through in-vitro fertilization before welcoming their first child, Megan, in 1998.

Tana gave birth to their sixth child , Jesse, last November. They are also parents to twins Jack and Holly, 23; Matilda, 22; and Oscar, 5.

Ramsay, known for his fiery temper, told People that having children has "brought the emotion" out of him.

But he has compared having six kids to "running a restaurant where no one goes home."

Despite earning millions of dollars, Ramsay is still working hard today

gordon ramsay travel

Another milestone in Ramsay's rise to success came when he was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 for his services to the hospitality industry.

But despite his success, he has at times disparaged his celebrity persona.

" 'Don't call me that. I am a chef who happens to appear on the telly, that's it. I am a grafter. I work my arse off. So it's wrong to give me that title," he told The Telegraph in 2008. "Being called a celebrity makes a mockery of how hard I have worked."

That hasn't stopped him from lining up a range of celebrity friends, including David Beckham and Gigi Hadid.

In recent years, Ramsay's TikTok career has also taken off, and he has 20 million subscribers on his YouTube account .

Ramsay has also dedicated time and money to supporting a range of charities and helping disadvantaged individuals

gordon ramsay travel

Having spoken out about the struggles of his disadvantaged childhood, Ramsay has also shared his wealth with a number of philanthropic causes, including those close to his own experiences.

For years, he has supported the charity Women's Aid , which runs refuges for victims of domestic violence, and supported his own mother in the past.

In 2020, Ramsay quietly donated $50,000 to help with the medical bills for a 14-year-old MasterChef junior contestant who had cancer.

He and his wife, Tana, also have a charitable foundation that has previously committed to raising $2 million for Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Recently, Ramsay helped a terminally ill woman fulfill her bucket list dream of meeting him and dining at one of his restaurants after spotting her viral video on TikTok.

Unsurprisingly, former Spice Girl VB stole the limelight in an ethereal seafoam-hued maxi dress crafted from sheer fabric. Her whimsical creation featured a high neckline, swathes of fabric around the waist and a cluster of 3D flowers rippling down the front.

In photos shared to Instagram, Victoria could be seen posing alongside hubby David who looked debonair in a smart tuxedo. Echoing dad David's outfit were Brooklyn and Romeo, whilst budding singer Cruz turned heads in a cream tuxedo and a bow tie.

Also in cream was trendy teen Harper who echoed her mother's elegance in a glossy ivory slip dress and matching satin mules. She wore her honeyed blonde locks in a poker straight style and accentuated her pretty features with a touch of natural-looking makeup.

I tried Gordon Ramsay's favorite 10-minute pasta and now I know why he makes it every week

I tried Gordon Ramsay's 10-minute pasta, which he makes for his family every week.

The dish has a turkey and leek sauce and is topped with crispy sage breadcrumbs.

Ramsay's delicious pasta was light and bright — perfect for a midweek pick-me-up.

From his 15-minute tagliatelle Bolognese to his 10-minute bacon cheeseburger , Gordon Ramsay has never let me down when I need a fast recipe.

So, I was ecstatic when I learned that the Michelin-starred chef has an entire cookbook dedicated to dishes that can be made in 10 minutes flat.

I'm always looking for quick and easy dishes to save time during the busy workweek, so I knew I had to try one. Here's how it all went down.

Ramsay said he makes this 10-minute pasta for his family every week.

In his cookbook, " Ramsay in 10 ," which came out in October 2021, Ramsay features a turkey and leek pasta with crispy sage breadcrumbs.

"For a change, skip the bolognese and make this creamy turkey and leek sauce in a fraction of the time instead," he wrote. "It might just become a regular midweek family meal, as it has at my house."

Ramsay's 10-minute pasta includes turkey, breadcrumbs, and leeks.

To make Ramsay's 10-minute pasta for four, you'll need:

17 ounces of fresh penne or fusilli pasta

14 ounces of ground turkey

¾ cup of heavy cream

4 sage leaves

4 regular shallots (or 2 banana shallots)

3 garlic cloves

A handful of flat-leaf parsley leaves

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

To make the breadcrumbs for the pasta, you'll need:

6 tablespoons of fresh breadcrumbs

2 sage leaves

2 tablespoons of olive oil

Ramsay notes in his cookbook that the breadcrumbs are optional, but after trying the pasta myself, I recommend taking this extra step. It was my first time making fresh breadcrumbs, and it couldn't have been easier.

But feel free to play around with the ingredients depending on your preferences. Ramsay said this dish also works great with ground chicken or sausage meat; the sage can easily be swapped for thyme, parsley, or tarragon; and any shape of fresh or dried pasta will do.

Before I got cooking, I needed to prep.

First, I brought a saucepan of salted water to a boil so it'd be ready for the pasta in a few minutes.

Then, per Ramsay's recipe, I peeled and grated my shallots and garlic. If the handheld grater proves tricky — and risky for your fingers — feel free to use a knife to finish mincing the veggies.

After grating my shallots and garlic, I finely sliced my leeks.

I should note that Ramsay recommends prepping your shallots and garlic while the olive oil is heating up in the pan and slicing your leeks right before you add the pasta. But I'm still quite slow at chopping veggies, so I got my prep out of the way first so I wouldn't be stressed about burning anything. I also let my leek slices soak in a bowl of cold water to ensure they were fully clean.

The recipe took me a tad longer than 10 minutes, but if you're confident in your chopping speed, feel free to take Ramsay's lead.

I also prepped my fresh breadcrumbs.

I simply tore two slices of bread into pieces and threw them into the food processor, saving the leftovers I didn't need for the recipe.

I placed my Dutch oven over medium-high heat and added two tablespoons of olive oil. Then, I added my shallots and garlic to the pan.

I allowed the shallots and garlic to cook for two minutes, stirring regularly.

If you don't have a Dutch oven handy, Ramsay notes that this recipe also works with a heavy-based frying pan or a skillet.

Once the two minutes were up, I threw in the sage leaves and turkey.

I broke the turkey up with a wooden spoon and allowed it to cook for three to four minutes, until the meat was lightly browned.

While the turkey was cooking, I added my leeks to the boiling water.

I let the leeks cook for one minute, per Ramsay's instructions.

Then, I threw in the penne.

I stirred to separate the pasta and allowed the penne to cook until it was al dente. Since I chose penne, my pasta didn't cook in the speedy two minutes Ramsay recommends for fusilli. But just follow the instructions on your box, and the noodles will taste great.

While my pasta was cooking, I added the cream to my turkey in the other pan.

I stirred to combine everything together and allowed my sauce to come to a boil.

I reduced the sauce to a simmer until I was ready to serve.

Dinner was almost ready!

Then, I moved on to the crispy sage breadcrumbs.

I placed a frying pan over medium heat and drizzled some olive oil. Then, I added two sage leaves, which I had finely chopped.

I cooked the breadcrumbs until they were crisp and golden brown.

This happens very quickly, so make sure to watch the pan carefully so they don't burn.

I drained my pasta and leeks and added the penne to the sauce.

Ramsay recommends saving two to three tablespoons of the pasta water and throwing it in the sauce as well.

Then, I added the finely chopped parsley leaves, along with some lemon zest.

I also added some salt and pepper before giving everything a big stir.

I topped everything off with the sage breadcrumbs.

After I added the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and drizzle of olive oil that Ramsay recommends, I stepped back and admired my pasta.

The dish looked bright and inviting thanks to the pops of color from the parsley and breadcrumbs, and I loved seeing so many different textures meld together. Plus, it smelled absolutely delicious.

It was time to dig in.

Ramsay's 10-minute pasta took me a couple extra minutes, but the final result was worth it.

I don't usually go for poultry with my pasta, so I was skeptical when making the turkey sauce. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved Ramsay's pasta.

The turkey and leek sauce is light but packed with so much flavor. The leeks add a hint of lovely sweetness, and the lemon brightens each bite. And the contrasting textures of the crispy sage breadcrumbs and the creamy sauce make a fantastic team. I don't usually crave a big meal on a weeknight, so I love that this pasta makes dinner interesting without being too heavy.

Whether you're longing for a light dish during the week or just want a recipe that feels like spring, Ramsay's favorite 10-minute pasta will satisfy all your cravings.

Gordon Ramsay spotted in Virginia helping family-owned restaurant

gordon ramsay travel

TAPPAHANNOCK, Va. -- Television star and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was spotted in Virginia over the weekend helping a family-owned restaurant.

Photos and video recorded Sunday showed Ramsay outside Lowery’s Seafood Restaurant in Tappahannock filming his show "24 Hours to Hell and Back."

In the show, Ramsay travels the country and does his best to rescue "failing restaurants" in a 24-hour time period.

Messages sent to the Captain's Grill & Lowery's Facebook page were seen, but no reply was received. The page did post -- on October 23 -- that the restaurant would be closed October 25 for repairs and reopen with limited seating over the weekend.

"We will not be having any Buffets Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Please bear with us during this time as we are improving your overall dining experience here at Lowery’s & the Captain’s Grill. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Town manager James Sydnor said the town offices knew a production company was coming to the restaurant, but was not given a heads up about Ramsay's visit.

"I'm not a Food Network guy, but I was informed the by the ladies here who [Gordon Ramsay] was ... so we're excited," Sydnor said. "Anything to help Lowery's is OK with us."

"24 Hours to Hell and Back" airs on Fox.

Lowery’s has a long history in Tappahannock. Found in 1938 by William Wesley and Lorelle Lowery, the restaurant moved to Church Lane in the 1940s, according to a recent Richmond BizSense article . In 2012, Lowery’s added Captain’s Grill & Patio to the property.

Earlier this year, the family put the restaurant on the market and decided to keep the place open until a buyer was found. They have since taken the restaurant off the market, according to broker hired to help with the sale.

Whether or not Lowery’s is a "failing restaurant" is a matter of opinion, of course. The restaurant rating website Yelp showed it had 3.5 stars (out of 5), however the most recent reviews were all one or two stars. This is a developing story. Saugerties, N.Y. — Sleeping on Saugerties, globetrotters? It is time to add this charming waterside community in Upstate New York to your summer bucket list.

Saugerties, a small Catskills town perched on the banks of the Hudson River, has been named one of the 10 best small towns in the Northeast by USA Today’s 10Best . The town ranked No. 6 on the list bookended by Gettysburg and Ohiopyle, both nestled in Pennsylvania.

The town that fewer than 20,000 people call home offers a “quaint escape with an artsy spirit”, 10Best wrote in its roundup.

“Attracting a lively New York City crowd, especially on weekends, the town’s Main Street is a treasure trove of antique shops, art galleries, a bookstore, as well as an array of casual and upscale restaurants,” the travel website wrote.

The town boasts a small but mighty arts scene. It is home to the Orpheum Theatre, a vintage movie theater that’s run by Upstate Films and has earned the support of Liam Neeson and other actors. It also hosts art and craft stores like the Jane St. Art Center and Bravo Original Ceramic Designs.

Along with serving up artsy vibes and memorable eateries, Saugerties is famed for its proximity to hiking trails and waterways — including Esopus Creek and the Hudson River. The iconic Saugerties Lighthouse is a popular draw for hikers and photographers.

Saugerties can count celebrities among its visitors: Crews filmed scenes for the HBO reboot “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” at the Orpheum in Saugerties, while celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay visited two eateries — Love Bites Cafe and Bosco’s Mercantile — for a show.

Baloy "passed away peacefully" on Wednesday, May 1, according to a statement to PEOPLE from her fiancé, Louis Risher

Gordon Ramsay  is mourning the death of one of his biggest fans.

Maddy Baloy, a 26-year-old Tiktoker who actively documented her life with stage 4 terminal cancer, "passed away peacefully" on Wednesday, May 1 , according to a statement to PEOPLE from her fiancé, Louis Risher.

Baloy shared her love for the TV chef, 57, in a January upload about her 19 bucket list items that she was "in a hurry" to finish. The twelfth item on her list was meeting Ramsay, which she got to do after the video went viral and got his attention .

Ramsay shared a clip of the two dancing together in an Instagram post on Thursday, May 2, expressing that he is "truly at a loss for words" after Baloy's death.

"She was kind, fun and a true inspiration to me and my three girls. Knowing we were able to make one of her dreams come true will always be cherished by me. She’ll always be my first & last dance in the kitchen and never forgotten. Sending all our love to her fiancé and family Gx ❤️❤️❤️," his caption continued.

"You’re a special one Gordon ❤️," commented Taylor Lautner , who met Baloy when she appeared on his podcast The Squeeze in February.

Ramsay first documented his experience meeting Baloy in a TikTok video in February.

“I hope you had the best time @madison in Miami! It was such an honor for you to be my VVIP last night at #LuckyCat! Thx to everyone on TikTok too for helping making sure these dreams come true Gx," he wrote in the video's caption.

Apart from thanking Ramsay in the comment section, Baloy also documented the trip in her own TikTok video . She included clips of the two high-fiving and blowing kisses at a camera.

“GORDON RAMSAY! The biggest honor and the coolest night of my whole entire life. And for everyone who made this happen; I love you @Gordon Ramsay!” Baloy captioned the post.

Ramsay replied in the comment section, “Thank you for teaching me to dance, it’s the first time ever in a kitchen ❤️."

What's on FOX for Summer 2024?

Thursday may 16.

I Can See Your Voice (8/7c)

Ken Jeong, Cheryl Hines, and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton are back as hosts and judges for this unique singing competition. A rotating pack of celebrities will gauge folks off their appearances to see if they’re good or bad singers before they even sing a note. It’s always fun seeing who can surprise the judges with a fantastic song and which are too tone-deaf, to make it a fun twist on the singing genre.

Don’t Forget The Lyrics season 3 (9/8c)

Fresh off her Emmy award win, Niecy Nash is host for this competition as contestants have to see just how well they know a song. They’re given a number from a different genre, singing along but when the band and screen with lyrics stop without warning, they have to prove if they can keep singing. Anyone who stumbled upon the lyrics in public can appreciate this show.

The Masked Singer season 11 finale (8/7c)

It’s the final episode of the wild series as fans will finally be able to see which famous faces are under those outlandish costumes and who takes home the big prize.

Gordon Ramsay’s Food All-Stars season 2 premiere (9/8c)

A longtime Fox favorite, Gordon Ramsay hosts the second season of his newest cooking show, and this year, he is joined by Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump. Each will captain a team of aspiring food and beverage industry entrepreneurs to prove not just their cooking skills but their business savvy and building a brand. They compete for a $250,000 prize and a chance to make their mark on the world, provided they can survive Ramsay.

Beat Shazam season 7 premiere (8/7c)

Jamie Foxx once more hosts the hit game show where teams compete to see how well they know songs and challenge the Shazam app. Foxx and DJ Corinne will be joined by special celebrity guests and judges for another year of exciting song clashes. This season will also have special theme episodes involving families, teachers and others to spark things up.

The Quiz With Balls (9/8c)

Fox’s brand-new show with a rather provocative title is hosted by Jay Pharaoh. The setup is wild, as two families are placed on platforms over a pool. With each question, a giant foam ball comes at them. If they answer correctly, the ball stops; if they don’t, it’s time for a pool dunk. The longer they last, the closer they get to the $100,000 prize for the last person standing. It’s a nutty take on the typical game show but a theme perfect for summer.

MasterChef: Generations season 14 (8/7c)

The Gordon Ramsay-hosted series takes on a new theme for season 14. Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich oversee a competition as home cooks from four different generations (Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers) face off in special challenges. They include cooking a meal at the Major League Soccer LAFC stadium and having to prepare a three-star meal. With a $250,000 prize at stake, expect things to get heated.

NAME THAT TUNE Backplate © FOX 2020

Name That Tune (8/7c)

The classic game show returns with new episodes as Jane Krakowski oversees contestants trying to identify songs from the least number of beats possible. The shorter the tune, the higher the prize and showing off their song knowledge nicely.

It’s possible there is some more programming coming for July and August that hasn’t been announced yet but this looks to be a fun way for Fox to set the summer season off right!

This is a review for hotels near Washington, DC:

"Good hotel, located at The Wharf in DC. To be honest, it was overpriced to stay for the weekend, and small. It was almost $700, but hey it's DC. Continental breakfast included but not valet. Entry to the hotel is in the cut, you can definitely miss it if you're not paying attention. Service desk was meh, they told me my room wasn't ready and to wait, that they would text me. An hour goes by, no text. My husband went to the counter and they said, oh your room been ready. I have no idea why no one contacted us."
