Christine and the Queens Expand U.S. Tour Dates

Christine and the Queens has expanded his U.S. tour plans to include more California dates this spring. The artist, who also goes by Chris and performs in character as “Redcar,” will now perform in San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles around his previously announced Coachella appearances. Tickets for the new dates will be available on the artist’s website at noon PST on Friday.

The performances come a few months after the release of Redcar Les Adorables Étoiles (Prologue) , an album he says sets up more music that will come out this year. Redcar’s music was more sprawling and just as dramatic as previous Christine and the Queens releases, which has allowed Chris to stage some surprising performance art spectacles. Last year, even after he injured his leg, he managed to adapt the album’s “La Chanson du Chevalier” into a special presentation in which he danced around Rodin’s L’Age d’Airain sculpture. He also has staged full-scale concerts in Paris and London.

Christine and the Queens Announces Fall 2023 North American Tour Dates

Christine and the Queens has announced a North American tour in support of the new album Paranoïa, Angels, True Love . The new shows take place in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Toronto. See the musician’s full itinerary below.

Paranoïa, Angels, True Love arrives on June 9, following last year’s Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue) , which Christine and the Queens issued under his Redcar alias. “ To Be Honest ” and “Tears Can Be So Soft” have been released as singles from the new LP, along with “True Love,” which features 070 Shake. Madonna and co-producer Mike Dean make guest appearances elsewhere on the record. In July, Christine and the Queens will appear at the Montreux Jazz Festival .

Early 2024 has been quite fun for me as I have been in the studio with my amazing band recording our new EP called “None of You”!  We worked with Jim Salamone & Cambridge Sound Studios as well as The Barn to create this 5 song, full band, rock EP!  This will be released in the Spring and will include songs:  “None of You”, “Today, Today”, “Fade”, “Broken Wing”, and “Just Do You”! There will also be a VINYL release of this EP!

Now that Mastering & wrapping up the EP is happening, I look forward to getting back to the LIVE SHOWS, where I enjoy sharing music with you so much! Just did a quick run south at Asheville Guitar Bar & then with Sarah Peacock in Atlanta, Nashville, & Birmingham! I get to perform with Tret Fure in early April & then start the Sirens of Spring X Tour that runs 4/19-5/19 (sirensofspring.net)!!!  My full band will be performing a few of those shows as we head to OH, PA, VA, NC, MD & DE! WomensFEST in Rehoboth runs 4/26-27-28 & I have shows on all 3 days, but happily sold out on 4/27 & 4/28! Catch the Songwriters in the Round show on 4/26 at The Rehoboth Convention Center with me, Regina Sayles, + Sarah Peacock! You can also catch the DUO with Colleen Clark a lot over the next few months as we hit the beach area & other outdoor events!

All About our private Eagle’s Nest Historical Tour

Recommended by the major travel guidebooks guidebooks including rick steves, what’s so special about this tour.

Created by David and Christine Harper in 1990, this original and comprehensive tour, offered in English only, covers the Eagle’s Nest, as well as Hitler’s former HQs compound and includes a visit to the site of Hitler’s former home, the Berghof (now a ruin). This history-intensive tour is conducted by professional guides who are accredited in Third Reich / WWII history and whose mother tongue is English. They conduct the tour in an objective and comprehensive manner, making the history of the area easily understandable to all.

What is the “Eagle’s Nest Historical Tour”?

Our private, 3,5 – 4-hour, educational, 3-part tour emphasizes the historical significance of the whole mountain, not just the Eagle’s Nest teahouse.

1. Eagle’s Nest

You will board a specially equipped mountain bus for a breathtaking drive up the 6.5 km (4 mile) road with its 27% incline to a high mountain parking lot, just below the ‘Eagle’s Nest’. The original brass-lined elevator will then transport you up through the heart of Kehlstein mountain straight into the building itself. After an in-depth tour of the Eagle’s Nest (now a restaurant) you’ll have some free time to enjoy the views or refreshments.

2. Hitler’s Headquarters Compound

Your guide will take you on a driving tour around Obersalzberg, a small mountain community above Berchtesgaden. Here the history of the area’s takeover by the National Socialist Party and the transformation of the mountain into Hitler’s Southern Headquarters will be recounted. Numerous original buildings or sites where structures once stood will be pointed out and explained with the help of photographs.

3. Site of Hitler’s Former Home

Spending well over one-fourth of his twelve years in power at his “ Berghof ,” as the estate was named, the National Socialist Party’s effective  propaganda apparatus made use of Hitler’s move to the Obersalzberg mountain to present him as a man close to nature and whose Wahlheimat (chosen homeland) was Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps.

On the one hand, the repeated focus on the Führer’s presence on the mountain lent him the German roots that he did not possess, on the other, it created an image of Germany’s future leader as a man living close to the common people in an idyllic alpine countryside. Hitler and his home on the Obersalzberg provided a subsequent mass-merchandizing of the politician as an allegedly friendly and hospitable man who made time to receive and welcome hordes of German admirers and followers.

Photos of these large pilgrimage-like events, as well as postcards and picture-books of Hitler relaxing with and entertaining his associates such as Goebbels, Göring, Speer and Bormann, were widely distributed in an effort to create a Hitler myth. This “superstar” spotlighting was extraordinarily successful in contributing to Hitler’s popularity both before and after his rise to power.

However, it was also at this alpine retreat – the Berghof – that many of Hitler’s sinister plans were forged, leading to war and genocide. Though the building itself was destroyed by bombing and later demolished, our guides, with the help of photographs, recreate the Berghof’s former appearance and offer an in-depth narrative to outline the significant role Hitler’s former estate played in world history.

Times & Prices

The Eagle’s Nest Historical Tour can be booked, depending on availability, at either 8:30 a.m. or at 1:00 p.m. The meeting point for those arriving by car is Eagle’s Nest Historical Tours, located above the Berggasthof Obersalzberg Restaurant (next to Parking 1) at Obersalzberg (Salzbergstrasse 41) in Berchterchtesgaden (Germany). The tour is offered, on request and depending on availability, when the Eagle’s Nest is open, (usually from mid-May through October, weather permitting) and lasts approximately 3,5 to 4 hours. The price of the tour in 2024 is 330 € for private parties of up to six participants. The price includes our transportation around Obersalzberg and the half-day of professional guiding but does not include the Eagle’s Nest mountain bus (the price in 2023 was 30,80 € per person).

Due to the intense historical focus of this tour we do not recommend booking this tour if you have children under 8 years of age. We, as parents, find that the four-hour history-intensive tour that we offer is tough on a young child’s patience. The Eagle’s Nest can also be visited without our guided tour (see below).

How much walking is involved?

– Walk through tunnel (406 ft / 124m) for elevator ride into the Eagle’s Nest – Tour of building (about 20 steps)

Limited Mobility and Wheelchair Access

For those with limited mobility we can tailor the program to a slower pace. The Eagle’s Nest mountain buses have wheelchair ramps, however up at the Eagle’s Nest our tour participants need to go down two different flights of stairs to get into the main rooms of the building and climb back up them as well.

For those who do not feel this tour is for them or if our tour is sold out for the date you need, an alternative would be to visit the sites on you own. You simply take the Eagle’s Nest mountain bus from the Eagle’s Nest bus departure point (address: Salzbergstr. 43, Berchtesgaden, Germany). Buses depart every 25 minutes and you do not require an advance reservation.

Christine Blasey Ford celebrated by Hollywood liberals at star-studded book party: 'We stand with you'

H ollywood liberals rolled out the red carpet for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kanavaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford as part of her splashy media tour promoting her new book.

Ford entered the national spotlight in 2018 after she came forward with a sexual assault allegation against Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation, igniting an explosive political battle on Capitol Hill. She resurfaced last week with the release of her memoir "One Way Back."

The latest stop on her book tour was a star-studded party held Sunday in West Hollywood. 

"We stand with you because you have stood with us so courageously, and we honor you, and we celebrate you. We lift our glasses to you tonight," actress Kerry Washington said in a speech, according to Variety . "To your courage, to your beauty, to your generosity as you continue to do more than you have to. You owe us nothing, and we owe you everything."

Washington reportedly co-hosted the party with The Meteor co-founder Cindi Leive, photographer and author Amanda de Caadent, Invisible Hand CEO Genevieve Roth and Propper Daley CEO Greg Propper.

CHRISTINE BLASEY FORD WAS ‘DEVASTATED’ BY INVESTIGATIONS FINDING NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT KAVANAUGH ACCUSATIONS

"Christine, you will always be to me the finest example of bravery and commitment to truth, even in the face of indifference and hostility," Hill wrote in her message, according to the report. "Thank you for writing ‘One Way Back’…It is a testament to your honesty and your willingness to relive your painful experiences so that other victims of violence can be heard. Just as your testimony did in 2018, today, ‘One Way Back’ will pave the path for the healing and accountability that survivors desire and that they also deserve."

"It’s so nice to meet new people and new friends and allies and I just really look forward to speaking with you further while I’m here," Ford reportedly told her supporters at the event. "Thank you so much for reading the book and I hope you like it."

Ford, a psychologist at Stanford University, alleged Kavanaugh assaulted her at a summer party in 1982 while they were in high school, a claim Kavanaugh categorically denied during his confirmation.

Critics of Ford have hammered her for failing to recall the exact date and location of the alleged assault and point to her lack of corroborative witnesses, except for notes from a 2012 couples therapy session where she shared her allegation. Meanwhile, Kavanaugh preserved his decades-old calendar showing what he did each day that summer.  

A memo released by then-Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, in November 2018 said Senate and FBI's investigations found "no evidence" to substantiate any sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.

CHRISTINE BLASEY FORD DIDN'T KNOW HER TESTIMONY AGAINST KAVANAUGH WOULD BE TELEVISED UNTIL LAST MINUTE

The late California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, first learned of Ford's claim in July 2018 but sat on it until September as Kavanaugh's confirmation was underway. 

Kavanaugh was confirmed by the Senate in a 50–48 vote in October 2018. West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin was the only Democrat to vote with Republicans.
