Taylor Swift debuts ‘Tortured Poets’ songs live as Eras Tour resumes

Swift made some significant changes to the 3-hour-and-15-minute set when she kicked off the European leg of her record-shattering tour Thursday after a two-month break.

Taylor Swift’s record-shattering Eras Tour has essentially been a well-oiled, steady machine since it launched in March 2023 — she switched up a few songs on occasion, but mostly stuck to the same set list during the 3-hour-and-15-minute spectacle. And Swift’s loyal fan base has spent hours studying footage from around the world, with millions tuning in on fan-hosted live-streams to memorize every detail.

But on Thursday, Swift made some significant changes to the show for the first time as the tour kicked off its European leg at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France, for the first of four sold-out concerts. As many predicted, she debuted live performances of her songs from her 11th studio record, “The Tortured Poets Department,” a double album that contains 31 tracks and sold the equivalent of 2.61 million albums in its first week (combining physical sales and streams) when it dropped in mid-April .

“You are so present and it means the world to us as performers when you show up to a concert and when you act this way. … It makes us want to show you all kinds of fun surprises,” Swift, 34, told the extremely enthusiastic audience early in the night, calling the Eras Tour “the best experience of my life, honestly.”

The concert was live-streamed by fans on TikTok. One viewed by The Post featured a news ticker running at the bottom of the video with updates about the show: new outfits, new video screen visuals, a new order for some of the songs. Swift, who divides her set list into “eras” from her 18-year career, kicked off the “Tortured Poets” era about two hours into the concert with “But Daddy I Love Him” — a track that many interpret to be a message to her fan base about their, ah, extreme interest in her love life and the men she dates.

The Style section

“I’ll tell you something about my good name, it’s mine alone to disgrace,” Swift sang, running back and forth across the stage throughout. “… God save the most judgmental creeps who say they want what’s best for me, sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I’ll never see.” At the end, she sat down with her dancers and added a verse from “So High School” with lines that include “You know how to ball; I know Aristotle” — thought to be a reference to her boyfriend , the very famous football player Travis Kelce. (Swift did not sit for any interviews about the album and has provided very little detail for the ideas behind the lyrics.)

Even if they were being scolded, the fans loved it. The ecstatic screaming and cheering continued in the audience as Swift continued through “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” which appears to detail the downsides of fame, along with breakup anthems “Down Bad” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” along with her new single with Post Malone, “Fortnight.” Swift added all kinds of new dance routines and set pieces, including one that made it look as if she were levitating across the stage.

And she performed a brief play before “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” an upbeat track about how she was able to perform on the Eras Tour even through heartbreak. Two magicians dragged her lifeless body to another part of the stage where they “forced” her to change into another sparkly outfit as she rolled her eyes and reluctantly got ready to dance.

“So you were the first crowd ever to see ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ chapter of the Eras Tour!” Swift said cheerfully during the next set where she played a couple of surprise acoustic songs. “Or as I like to call it, ‘Female Rage: The Musical.’”

Otherwise, many chapters of the show stayed the same. Though some wondered whether Swift would simply extend the concert to four hours, she cut six songs overall and condensed the “Folklore” and “Evermore” eras into one, explaining that she considers them “sister albums” because she recorded them during the same year early in the pandemic.

“I’ve always thought ‘Folklore’ to me represents spring and summer and ‘Evermore’ represents fall and winter. So on the Eras Tour, we have now reunited the sisters and combined them into one chapter,” she said. She wrapped up the concert with “Karma” a little after 11 p.m. Paris time after running through 45 songs, and thanked her dancers and band for learning all the new material.

The European leg of the Eras Tour will run through mid-August, and the tour will resume in the United States and Canada in the fall.

Taylor Swift's New 2024 Eras Tour Setlist Revealed

T aylor Swift launched her European leg of the Eras Tour with a bang in Paris, introducing a slew of exciting changes during her opening performance on Thursday, May 9.

Fans, eagerly returning after a two-month hiatus, were immediately struck by the alterations — from wardrobe shifts to tweaks in the setlist. Addressing the audience at the onset, Swift teased, "It makes us want to give you all sorts of surprises!"

Of particular interest to fans was whether she'd incorporate tracks from her latest 11th album, The Tortured Poet's Department , released in April. Swift's French tour promoter, Arnaud Meersseman, confirmed additions were on the cards, although specifics remained under wraps.

The tour's evolution kicked off promptly with an altered intro, transitioning from a mashup of her albums to including material from TTPD .

To make room for the new songs, she bid farewell to some fan favorites: "The Archer," "Long Live," "The 1," "Tolerate It," "The Last Great American Dynasty," and "Tis the Damn Season."

Fans voiced their discontent over the cuts. "She really axed some of my favorite songs :(" lamented one user via X (formerly Twitter ). Another expressed frustration, "Why is she cutting the best songs? I'm so upset right now."

However, Swift officially ushered in a TTPD era to the tour, dubbing it "female rage: the musical."

She debuted the tracks "So High School," "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," "But Daddy I Love Him," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me," "Down Bad," and "Fortnight."

As for the costume changes, Swift unveiled a new array of outfits — a new Lover bodysuit, Fearless dress, and Enchanted gown graced the stage, accompanied by a new t-shirt for the Red era saying, "This is Not Taylor's Version."

Transitioning to the Folklore era, she stunned in a new yellow dress, while the 1989 was changed to a blue-and-pink sequined ensemble.

In a surprising twist, the sequence of eras underwent a shake-up. Evermore took the lead after Fearless , followed by Red and then Speak Now . Evermore and Folklore merged into a singular era.

The Chairman is here, and she’s brought her typewriter. Taylor Swift has come straight from The Tortured Poets Department to the Paris La Defense Arena. On the opening night of the European leg of The Eras Tour in Paris, France, Swift debuted live versions of her latest double album release: The Tortured Poets Department and The Tortured Poets Department:The Anthology .

In a dramatic shift after the 1989 set, Swift reemerged onstage in a white gown straight from the “Fortnight” music video to usher in a whole new era to The Eras Tour. It’s truly tortured with seven new songs. The TTPD era opened with “But Daddy I Love Him,” before abruptly switching into “So High School” for the outro. The pop star was a full blown mad woman levitating over the stage for “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” which was followed by a mash-up of “Down Bad” and “Fortnight.” Next, Swift was surrounded by a somber marching band for “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”

The additional era was not the only change to The Era’s Tour set list. Before Swift took the stage, eagle-eyed fans noticed the addition of TTPD lyrics from the title track and “The Alchemy” in the opening mash-up intro. The eras correlating to each album were also switched around, with Red and Speak Now sets coming after the Lover and before Folklore and Evermore. Swift also cut plenty of songs from the set list, including “The Archer,” “Long Live,” “‘Tis the Damn Season,” “Tolerate It,” “The 1,” and “The Last Great American Dynasty.”

There were also some notable outfit changes from a new pink and orange sparkling bodysuit for Lover to a different T-shirt for the Red era that cryptically donned the message “This Is Not Taylor’s Version.”

Fans began speculating about how The Tortured Poets Department would be included in Swift’s upcoming tour dates since double album’s release on April 19. Theories swirled as soon as the pop star shared a video of tour rehearsals a “fortnight” before the show in Paris, which seemed to include new stage sets and choreography.

As Swift said during the Arlington, Texas stop of the The Eras Tour, “Let it be said about the  Eras Tour,  we’re tricksy. That’s what we are [and] we enjoy a good, healthy set list hijinks.”

On May 9, Swift performed her first of four shows in Paris to kick off the European leg of her high-grossing tour. Throughout the three-hour set, Swifties took note of various changes to the performance, including new glittery outfits and the addition of tracks from her latest album, TTPD .

The most notable change of the night was when Swift added seven tracks from her latest album to her setlist. This included abbreviated renditions of "But Daddy I Love Him," "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?", "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart," along with samples from "So High School" and "Down Bad."

Unfortunately, Swift had to trim some tracks from her lengthy set to make room for the new songs. Songs that were dropped include “The Archer,” “The Last Great American Dynasty,” “The 1,” “’Tis the Damn Season,” and “Tolerate It.”

Also, when the singer enters her Speak Now era, there is a new transition with florals on the screen while her dancers perform a new routine before she sings “Enchanted” (which was previously “Long Live,” which she added mid-tour last year).

The songs from 'The Tortured Poets Department' that made the cut in Taylor Swift's revamped Eras Tour

Taylor Swift introduced "The Tortured Poets Department" to the Eras Tour in Paris on Thursday, dramatically revamping a set list that'd been relatively static for more than a year.

The Paris La Défense Arena show marked Swift's return to live performing, after her last gig March 9 in Singapore. It was her first time onstage since the April 19 release of "Poets."

Fans had been wondering whether and how "Poets" would be integrated into her setlist, which had been about 45 songs long and largely unchanged since she kicked off Eras in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona .

In a video Swift recently posted to YouTube shorts , she showcased clips of what appeared to be rehearsals for the upcoming leg of the tour.

Fans were quick to point out costumes and props they hadn't seen before on the Eras Tour — including a short view of her dancers performing with hats and canes, as well as a quick glimpse of a barrier that appeared to show the "TTPD" logo.

That all but sealed the deal that Swift would be ushering in a new era, which came to life Thursday in Paris.

"Poets" made its "Eras" debut in the show's second half and included: "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School, "Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?" "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

The wild card of Swift's Eras shows has been a two-tune acoustic set when she performs two songs not normally included in the shows and speaks to her fans.

Those "surprise" songs that followed the "Poets" set Thursday were the aptly chosen "Paris" on guitar and "loml" on piano. Swift also took the time to tell fans that her nickname for the "TTPD" section is "female rage, the musical," to the crowd's cheers.

The timing of Swift's shows has been consistent all tour long, with performances usually lasting less than 3½ hours. So the "Poets" addition meant the subtractions of several fan favorites.

The first hint that changes were on the way came early in Paris as "The Archer," which had been the show's sixth song, went missing when Swift quickly transitioned from her "Lover" era to "Fearless."

Other Eras stalwarts that vanished Thursday were "Long Live" — added to the setlist after July's release of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" — "’Tis the Damn Season," "The Last Great American Dynasty,” “The 1” and “Tolerate It.”

Swift also changed up the order of eras, as her "Red" set — with the beloved, crowd pleasing "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and the 10-minute-long "All Too Well" — moved up from sixth in the batting order to the No. 3 spot. All "Red" songs that been consistently played on the tour survived Thursday night's cuts.

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Paris, France

After "Red" came "Speak Now" and then "Reputation," before Swift launched into her first-ever double-era set — combining sister albums “Folklore” and “Evermore.”

Swift used the European kickoff to usher in a host of wardrobe changes. She donned an orange-and-red bodysuit for "Lover" and a pink-and-blue skater skirt set for "1989" that echoed its original 2014 style.

There were dynamic new introductions for some of the eras, including new choreography before Swift took the stage for "Enchanted."

And when she called out the names of all of her albums before she launched into show opener, "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince," she added "TTPD" to the discography.

Taylor Swift’s Treadmill Workout

Taylor Swift's workout was:  Daily treadmill sessions, singing the Eras setlist, "Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs. "

She disclosed this routine in an interview with Time Magazine. ¹

We suspect she kept her overall effort in the Zone 2 range , which I'll get into a little further down.

Getting ready for her Eras Tour was no joke. To train, Taylor included lots of running, lifting weights, dancing, and practicing her performance.

In the past, she has done workouts from Body by Simone, a blend of cardio, dance, and Pilates training designed by celebrity trainer Simone De La Rue. These sessions combine lively music and choreography to make fitness fun.

However, since Taylor was already doing so much dancing in preparation for the tour, she traded in the dance workouts for lifting weights .

That said, the most unique aspect of her preparation was what she did on the treadmill to help her get "tour legs."

Remember, the entire set list includes more than forty songs . It's unclear if Taylor did over three hours of cardio every day, but let’s assume she did a lot.

Although it's easy to see why she included the singing, there is also a scientific rationale for why you should...

Zone 2 cardio refers to exercising at a moderate intensity with an elevated heart rate but still within a comfortable range. This zone typically corresponds to 60-70% of your maximum heart rate.

Engaging in Zone 2 cardio is valuable because it helps improve cardiovascular fitness, enhances endurance, and is relatively easy to do. However, aside from wearing a heart rate monitor, speaking is a way to tell if you are in the correct zone.

If you can comfortably chat (or sing) while exercising, you're likely in Zone 2, striking a balance that promotes aerobic fitness without pushing yourself too hard. As soon as you become too breathless to belt out one of Taylor's songs, you are going too fast.

Unfortunately, there is little known about her strength and conditioning workouts. However, we know she trains at an exclusive underground gym in New York City called the Dogpound, founded by longtime personal trainer Kirk Myers. The Dogpound is not your average gym.

Besides the exceptionally high prices and A-list celebrity client roster, you must apply to get through the door. On the website, getting a membership reads more like a job application or a sign-up form for a secret society. You can't just hand them your credit card. But don't worry; there will be plenty of time for that if you make it that far. The baseline membership at this place costs over $700 a month .

As with everything, you get what you pay for. And big-time fitness results are priceless. Despite the price tag, the Dogpound gym is a throwback. It's an old-school gym filled with free weights and odd objects. The good news is that you don't need to spend $700 monthly to do this routine. You can do many of these exercises at your local gym.

What You Need to Know About Taylor Swift's Fitness Journey

If you emptied your life savings to go to one of Taylor's shows this year, you know the type of stamina she displayed while performing. If you were absent, let me drop some numbers on you.

Her Eras Tour performances included over forty songs lasting more than three hours . I don't know about you, but singing and dancing for three hours sounds like running a marathon. Taylor must have agreed with that sentiment because she prepared for the tour like someone training for an ultra-endurance event.

In her interview with Time Magazine, Taylor explained that she started preparing six months before the tour began . "I knew this tour was harder than anything I'd ever done before by a long shot," she stated. "I finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly." ²

As previously mentioned, her training included running on the treadmill, strength and conditioning work in the gym, and lots of dance practice. Leading up to the tour, she took three months of dance lessons with choreographer Mandy Moore.

taylor swift workout songs

Here are three workout principles Taylor follows to perform at her best.

1. Prioritize Running and Lifting Weights

For fitness, she runs and lifts weights. It doesn't matter if you are an elite athlete, average Joe, or the biggest celebrity in the world; running and lifting is an excellent fitness prescription. Combining running and lifting weights offers a well-rounded approach, enhancing cardiovascular endurance from running and promoting strength and muscle development through resistance training. This combination maximizes overall fitness, helping you get in great shape.

2. Practicing Her Performance

Fitness is about more than just "working out." Part of being fit is finding ways to incorporate activity into your daily life. For T-Swift, that is practicing her performance. Imagine the work of preparing for a tour with hundreds of three-hour shows, sometimes performing three shows straight. It's better to be over-rehearsed than under-prepared.

3. Utilize Recovery Days

Taking time for recovery is missing in most people's fitness routines. Everything you do is a stress, including training, and stress requires recovery. There is no doubt Taylor is busy, but as busy as she is, she still schedules time for self-care. For recovery, she doesn't leave her bed for a full day. Her recovery days include lots of sleeping and rarely talking to anyone. After back-to-back shows, she can barely speak. On these intense recovery days, she only gets out of bed to grab food.

taylor swift treadmill workout

Taylor Swift’s Diet

There is very little information about Taylor's diet, and she likely doesn't follow a nutrition plan. Based on interviews and discussions, here is an example of what a typical day of eating might look like.

  • Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte
  • Egg, ham, and cheese (parmesan) buckwheat crepes
  • A glass of orange juice
  • Grilled chicken sandwich
  • Pumpkin bread or ginger molasses cookies
  • Chicken tenders
  • Ketchup and ranch

Approximate daily nutrition breakdown: 100g of protein, 200g of carbohydrates, 100g of fat, and 2100 calories.

Overall, Taylor takes a balanced approach to nutrition, using common sense to make food choices. She doesn't eat like a fitness competitor but doesn't have to.

One change she has made recently is cutting out alcohol . Admittedly, Taylor said she used to act like a frat guy on tour. But, a few months before the Eras Tour started, she stopped drinking and has remained disciplined to that (besides Grammy night).

Aside from the extra calories, alcohol also negatively affects sleep and recovery . One thing Taylor does drink is water. And a ton of it. She drinks about ten bottles of water a day.

She eats pretty clean during the week but allows herself some treats on the weekend. Like the rest of us, Taylor loves burgers, fries, and ice cream. Her favorite food is chicken tenders. Taylor loves to cook, too. She especially enjoys baking around the holidays.

taylor swift supplements

Taylor Swift Supplement Stack

Taylor is not big on supplements, but she does take two consistently - L-theanine for stress and anxiety and magnesium for muscle health and energy.

L-theanine:  L-theanine is an amino acid in tea leaves, especially green tea. It is known for calming the mind and body without causing drowsiness. Theanine also promotes relaxation and can help reduce stress and anxiety. If you consume a lot of caffeine, consider having l-theanine with it. Combined with caffeine, they create a state of focused alertness without the jittery feeling often associated with caffeine alone. Theanine helps smooth out the stimulant effects of caffeine and reduces the potential for anxiety or restlessness.

You can find a great caffeine/l-theanine combination in our article on the Best Caffeine Pills.

Tips for Eating and Exercising like Taylor Swift

As is often said, success leaves clues. Here are four tips for eating and exercising like Taylor.

1. Lace Up Your Running Shoes

I'm not saying you need to run on the treadmill for three hours daily, but if you want to follow Taylor's lead, you must do cardio. If you are new to cardio, put on your favorite songs and walk for 15-20 minutes. Over time, increase your time and distance. Bonus points if you sing along.

2. Dance Training

You can't follow the Taylor Swift workout routine without dancing. It's a big part of her training for the tour, and it's excellent exercise. Of course, you can dance on your own, but if you want to take it up a notch, consider taking a dance class a couple of days a week.

3. Take a Common Sense Approach to Nutrition

Nutrition is a touchy subject. Everyone has an opinion on the "best diet." Taylor takes a common sense approach to nutrition. Make healthy choices most of the time, but allow yourself some treats here and there. If you are working out consistently, you only need to be on top of your diet 80% of the time to see results.

4. Drink Lots of Water

Most people would be better off if they drank more water. Follow Taylor's lead and always have a bottle of water with you. Drinking lots of water helps maintain proper bodily functions, supports digestion, and keeps organs functioning optimally. Staying hydrated also aids nutrient absorption and regulates body temperature.

As we conclude this exploration, let's embrace the fact that Taylor makes time to exercise. Time is often one of the biggest excuses for preventing people from reaching their fitness goals. It's cliche, but we all have the same 24 hours. If someone as busy as Taylor, performing concerts worldwide, can set aside time to exercise, you and I can, too. Additionally, let this be a reminder that health and fitness are within reach for everyone and that often, the most effective routines are the ones that echo with simplicity.

Taylor Swift debuted a whole new designer wardrobe at the first European Eras Tour show

  • Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her Eras Tour with a new set of designer outfits.
  • Those looks included Versace leotards, Louboutin boots, and a custom Vivienne Westwood dress.
  • Some of the outfits are new versions of ensembles she's worn in the past.

Insider Today

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour continues to get bigger and better.

During the first show of its European leg — hosted in Nanterre, France, on Thursday — Swift stepped onstage in a new Versace leotard and matching Louboutin boots.

The designer outfit is one of multiple high-end looks Swift has added to her updated show, which now includes songs from her latest album "The Tortured Poets Department."

And each new ensemble is arguably better than the last, with leotards covered in crystals and gowns printed with her song lyrics.

They're outfits fit for a billionaire , which Swift became largely thanks to her massive tour. Here's a look at what she wore.

Taylor Swift stepped onstage in Nanterre, France, wearing an eye-catching orange bodysuit.

set for tour

Swift has been wearing custom Versace bodysuits during the "Lover" portion of her shows since the start of the Eras Tour.

But her newest version is one of her brightest, covered in orange crystals and large magenta sequins.

She wore the form-fitting piece with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots and a gold Versace necklace.

She later added a sparkling blazer in the same bright shade.

set for tour

A performance of "The Man" wouldn't be complete without Swift adding a glittering blazer to her outfit.

So, for her first Eras Tour show in France, the 34-year-old debuted a new version of the Versace design: a double-breasted jacket covered in orange sparkles.

She paid homage to her original "Fearless" era in a new dress-style bodysuit.

set for tour

Fringe-covered minidresses hold a special place in the hearts of longtime Swifties, who saw Swift wear them regularly during her "Fearless" tour in 2009 and 2010.

So, it's fitting that she's consistently brought them back throughout the Eras Tour.

In France, Swift stepped onstage in a black bodysuit covered in silver, gold, and white fringe that made the piece look like a dress. She wore the metallic piece with sparkling Louboutin boots and her signature red lipstick.

It's unclear who designed the newest suit, but fashion house Roberto Cavalli has created Swift's other fringe pieces for the "Fearless" set of the Eras Tour.

Swift nodded to her business dealings during the "Red" set.

set for tour

Each night of the Eras Tour, Swift begins the "Red" portion of her show wearing a sparkling graphic T-shirt similar to the one she wore in the 2013 music video for "22."

One is a replica that says, "Not a lot going on at the moment," while other versions are more playful with phrases like, "Who's Taylor Swift anyway? Ew."

However, the one she wore in France featured an entirely new message: "This is not Taylor's Version."

The T-shirt references Swift's ongoing project of re-recording her past albums after the original masters were acquired by Scooter Braun and the fans who regularly urge radio stations and casual listeners to switch to "Taylor's Versions" of songs.

The new shirt and others Swift has worn on the Eras Tour were custom-made for her by Ashish Gupta.

Swift combined her "Folklore" and "Evermore" sets and wore a new dress during the merged eras.

set for tour

Alberta Ferretti has designed all of Swift's "Folklore" dresses throughout the Eras Tour, including the flowing white piece she's seen wearing in her 2023 concert film.

The new version she wore in France on Thursday appears to be the same silhouette as the latter garment but in a new yellow shade.

It features a tiered skirt, flowing long sleeves, and delicate swirls of sparkles and microbeads.

The "1989" portion of her show got an upgrade in the form of a new outfit.

set for tour

Beaded, two-piece sets from Roberto Cavalli have been Swift's "1989" uniform on the Eras Tour.

But in France, Swift swapped the fringed pieces for a bedazzled pink crop top, a blue ombré skirt, and ankle boots in both colors. The outfit seemingly referenced similar ones Swift wore on her "1989" tour in 2015.

The fashion house is also responsible for this look, with creative director Fausto Puglisi adding a leopard-head embellishment in the middle of its neckline.

Cavalli was widely known as the "Leopard King" before he died in April.

A new "Tortured Poets Department" set called for multiple new outfits, including a dramatic gown.

set for tour

To match the moody aesthetic of her new album and reference her "Fortnight" music video, Swift donned a custom Vivienne Westwood gown.

It featured a sleeveless, structured bodice, a high-low skirt, and lyrics from "The Tortured Poets Department" printed across it.

Swift wore the dress with white ankle boots from Christian Louboutin.

She later added a military jacket.

set for tour

While performing "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," Swift and her dancers wore 18th-century-style military jackets in a stark white shade.

The outerwear featured thick sleeves, bodice buttons, and fringed epaulets.

Toward the end of the "Tortured Poets" set, Swift performed an onstage quick change.

set for tour

In the style of a silent movie, Swift and her dancers acted out a scene in which a heartbroken Swift had to get dressed for a concert.

The two suit-clad performers helped Swift remove her jacket, and she slid off her dress to reveal a black bralette and high-waisted bottoms. They then handed her a gold duster that matched her new dance shoes.

She wore the showgirl-style outfit to perform "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Swift surprised fans with two acoustic songs and a new dress.

set for tour

Swift has worn custom pieces from Jessica Jones to perform surprise acoustic songs throughout the Eras Tour.

It's unclear if the designer created her latest look, but Swift's pink dress was all new.

It was sleeveless with a wrapped ruched bodice and a high-low skirt.

In true "Midnights" fashion, Swift was bejeweled by the show's end.

set for tour

Zuhair Murad designed her latest "Midnights" bodysuit. It featured a halter neckline, a diamond chest cutout, smaller slits at the waist, fringe across its hem, and an intricate beaded pattern across the garment.

Swift wore the daring piece with knee-high boots, fishnet tights, and her now-signature garter in a matching blue fabric.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band’s World Tour Setlist: All the Songs They Performed For Their First Show of 2024

After a six-month break, Springsteen and the band resumed their tour in Phoenix, March 19. Here's every song played.

Fans were delayed but not denied their visit from The Boss Tuesday night (March 19) in Phoenix as Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band relaunched their world tour after a six-month break.

Springsteen was originally slated to play the Arizona date on Nov. 30 last year, but it was one of 29 shows postponed after he came off the road in early September for treatment for peptic ulcer disease .

He made no reference to his health troubles (which were clearly in his past, given his extreme energy on stage) until the closing tune of the 29-song set, when he apologized for inconveniencing anyone by having to move the show, explaining, “I had a motherf**cker of a bellyache.”

The 2 hour 45 minute concert, which started right at 7:30pm , was a rollicking, high-energy affair. Gone are tour mainstays from the earlier leg, such as the funky “The E Street Shuffle” and the jazzy 7-minute “Kitty’s Back” (both from 1973’s The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle ), and six songs from Springsteen’s last album of original material, 2020’s Letter to You (Tuesday’s show was down to four from that set), replaced with tunes that make for a fast-paced, non-stop thrill ride of a show.

Springsteen will spend the rest of the year on the road, with more than 50 dates on the 2024 docket, including a European leg that starts in Cardiff, Wales in May and includes multiple stadium shows in cities like Milan, Madrid and Barcelona, before he returns stateside in August for stadium shows.

Below is the setlist for Phoenix’s opening night of the new leg. The tour resumes Friday  (March 22) night in Las Vegas.  For a deeper dive, go here .

Anticipation hung in the air inside Paris’ La Défense Arena on Thursday night as a clock counted down to Taylor Swift ‘s first European date of the Eras Tour .

Yes, the record-breaking tour had been running for over a year and was very well-documented — Swift even released a concert film of it in October that is now streaming on Disney+ — but tonight was different. Just under a month ago, during a break from the tour, Swift had released her 11th studio album, “ The Tortured Poets Department ,” and this show would mark its live debut.

Popular on Variety

Heading into the “Speak Now” era, Swift debuted a new intro with purple flower visuals, cut “Long Live” and went back to just doing “Enchanted” as the sole song of that album’s set. The “Reputation” era remained unchanged, with Swift even sticking to the same outfit as before — an asymmetrical black-and-red snake bodysuit.

As unfamiliar visuals came across the screen, it became clear that it was now time for “The Tortured Poets Department.” Assorted pieces of furniture — a chair, a lamp, a door — floated from the sky alongside pieces of paper, which then evolved into a desert road where the fixtures crashed onto the floor. Swift then appeared in a white corset dress with cursive writing adorning its skirt and a chunky Vivienne Westwood choker. First up was “But Daddy I Love Him,” followed by a snippet of “So High School” that segued into “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” The set’s graphics were mainly in black-and-white, and included a UFO that looked like it was about to abduct Swift and a filter that whited-out her eyes, giving her a demonic look. One chorus of “Down Bad,” during which Swift rotated around the stage on a spinning metal block, led into “Fortnight,” where a “TTPD”-emblazoned bed was brought out and Swift’s dancers dressed in nurse costumes. As Swift sat across from a dancer on a typewriter, the bed was tilted every which way, creating a fascinating display. She then donned a marching band jacket for “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” as her dancers followed her with drums.

All of the stylings for “The Tortured Poets Department” were vaguely Old Hollywood — perhaps a reference to Clara Bow? — but Swift really hammered that home with a minute-long skit in the middle of the set, in which two of her dancers fling her around like a doll while old-timey music plays. During the skit, Swift’s dress is removed — revealing nothing but a two-piece black set — and she is dressed in a gold jacket and matching heels. “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” followed, furthering the Old Hollywood theme with feather props and a marquee displaying “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” As Swift and her dancers left the stage, a visual reading “The End” displayed across the screen.

The surprise songs were next, at an unusually late place in the set. Wearing a new pink dress, Swift sang “Paris” — naturally — on the guitar, and then turned to the piano for “Tortured Poets Department” tune “loml,” which marked a tender moment of the set. Swift ended the show, as always, with the “Midnights” era, the songs for which remained the same, though she wore a new blue bodysuit.

Leaving the venue that night, one couldn’t help but feel that they had just witnessed an entirely new show, proving Swift’s expertise in reinvention. She could have just tacked “The Tortured Poets Department” songs onto the beginning or the end, but that would have been too easy. Instead, with more changes sure to come throughout its European leg, she gifted her fans with another reason to come back and see the Eras Tour again and again.

See the full setlist below.

“Fearless” “You Belong With Me” “Love Story”

“22” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” “I Knew You Were Trouble” “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)”

See All Taylor Swift's New Eras Tour Outfits in Europe — Including Her Custom 'Fortnight' Dress

From a custom Vivienne Westwood gown for 'TTPD' to an orange Versace bodysuit, see the singer's new looks for the Eras Tour

set for tour

Kevin Mazur/Getty

Taylor Swift proved she never goes out of style as she returned to the Eras Tour .

Following a two-month hiatus, Swift returned to the stage for an electrifying show in Paris on May 9. In addition to changing up her setlist as she included new songs from The Tortured Poets Department (including sweet nods to her boyfriend Travis Kelce), the singer also donned several new costumes .

For her 1989 set, she wore a mismatched Roberto Cavalli two-piece set and Christian Louboutin boots, which quickly drew parallels to Ariel from The Little Mermaid (which was released the same year Swift was born).

As Swift performed The Tortured Poets Department songs for the first time, including "So High School ," she went full meta with a custom gown from Vivienne Westwood that featured lyrics from the album.

Read ahead to see all the new costumes for the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift's Orange Versace Bodysuit and Christian Louboutin Boots

Julien De Rosa/AFP/Getty

Swift kicked off the show with a fiery new Versace bodysuit . While her previous pink and blue bodysuits looked like soft sunsets, this one looked more like the sun itself in a bright pink and orange. She completed the look with matching Christian Louboutins that featured an ombré detailing.

Taylor Swift's Versace Blazer and Christian Louboutin Boots

Kevin Mazur/TAS24/Getty

As Swift sang her hit song "The Man," she perfectly transitioned the set by putting on a custom Versace blazer. The small costume change seamlessly blended together with her bodysuit and Christian Louboutin boots.

Taylor Swift's Fringe Dress and Christian Louboutin Boots

While Swift previously donned gold fringe dresses during her Eras Tour, she opted for a silver and black number as she performed in Paris along with black strass boots by Christian Louboutin. As many Swifties pointed out, the new outfit more closely aligns with the fringe dress she wore during her Fearless Tour back in 2009.

Taylor Swift's Ashish Gupta Shirt

Like her previous tour dates, Swift continued with the tradition of wearing a custom Ashish Gupta shirt as she performed "22." While past phrases have included subtle nods to the song's lyrics, this particular shirt had fans scratching their heads as it read: "This Is Not Taylor's Version."

Taylor Swift's Yellow Alberta Ferretti Dress

As she combined Folklore and Evermore into one set, Swift donned a dress fitting of the merge, a custom Alberta Ferretti gown. Just as the singer noted the sister albums represent spring/summer and fall/winter, Swift wore a bright yellow gown that could pass as either a summer or fall dress.

Taylor Swift's Vivienne Westwood Dress and Christian Louboutin Boots

Kevin Mazur/TAS24/Getty

For her standout performance of The Tortured Poets Department album, Swift wore a custom Vivienne Westwood dress with white leather lace-up ankle boots by Christian Louboutin. The gown, which Swift later took off for a quick costume change (into another Vivienne Westwood look) as she performed "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart," featured the lyrics, "I love you, it's ruining my life," from her song " Fortnight " with Post Malone .

Taylor Swift's Roberto Cavalli Two-Piece Set and Christian Louboutin Boots

Swift went back to basics as she donned a two-piece set from Roberto Cavalli, including a sequined pink crop top and blue skater skirt reminiscent of the ones she wore during the 1989 World Tour in 2015. She completed the look with mismatched Christian Louboutin boots.

Taylor Swift's Pink Acoustic Set Dress

As Swift sang her surprise songs during the acoustic set, she wore a new pink halter dress, featuring a darker pink color along the waist. With her brown guitar in hand, the outfit certainly bore a striking resemblance to the sundresses Swift previously donned during her debut era.

Taylor Swift's Zuhair Murad Couture Bodysuit

For her final set, the Midnights era, Swift once again opted for a Zuhair Murad bodysuit. This one featured some new detailing including cutouts on her waist and a darker hue of blue.

Aerosmith Peace Out: See the setlist for the iconic band's farewell tour

set for tour

After 50 years of touring, Aerosmith is saying "No More No More" to the road with their Peace Out tour.

At Aerosmith's kickoff show Sept. 2 in Philadelphia , the band proved it was in peak form for this victory lap, which plays arenas in North America through January.

Steven Tyler's yowl – as well as his scarf-adorned mic stand – is well-preserved, while his fellow Toxic Twin, Joe Perry, is still serving sizzling blues-rock with ease.

While original drummer Joey Kramer is sitting out the band's final tour, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton remain to add their handiwork on guitar and bass, respectively. John Douglas, Aerosmith's former drum tech, is filling Kramer's seat.

The band's two-hour, 18-song show is rife with '70s and '80s hits including "Love in an Elevator" and "Janie's Got a Gun." But no Aerosmith concert would be complete without standards "Dream On" and "Walk This Way," mainstays that are receiving one last hurrah.
