Quels spectacles en priorité en 2022 2023 ?

Saison 2022 2023 au CDNT théâtre Olympia de Tours

Une saison prometteuse pour fêter en beauté les 20 ans du théâtre Olympia l’été prochain!

On y retrouvera avec plaisir plusieurs des artistes associé(e)s au lieu ces dernières années, ainsi, Vanasay Khamphommala présentera Écho , une nouvelle variation iconoclaste des Métamorphoses d’Ovide (après par exemple Vénus et Adonis )avec entre autres Natalie Dessay (grand souvenir de Und BARKER / VINCEY/ DESSAY .) Caroline Guiela Nguyen présentera quant à elle Fraternité, conte fantastique après le marquant Saigon . Camille Dagen, Eddy D’aranjo et Emma Depoid interrogeront les souvenirs, avec l’ensemble artistique du TO à partir de rencontres avec cinq enfants de sept ans et cinq personnes âgées de la région de Tours, dans la vie dure (105 minutes) . Après Part-dieu, chant de gare, Entre ses mains ( de Julie Rossello-Rochet, mise en scène Julie Guichard) nous plongera cette fois au coeur du monde hospitalier tandis qu’Alexis Armengol avec K explorera le parcours d’un jeune autiste.

D’autres spectacles sont assurément à ne pas manquer cette saison comme Le Crocodile trompeur , d’après l’opéra de Purcell ( Molière du meilleur spectacle de théâtre musical 2014) ou encore le Richard III de Shakespeare mis en scène en 1995 par Mathias Langhoff et recréé par Marcial Di Fonzo Bo. J’avais beaucoup aimé Une femme se déplace l’année dernière, alors notons la nouvelle création de David Lescot avec la même troupe : La Force qui ravage tout . Et bien d’autres encore à découvrir !

A voir à l’opéra de Tours saison 2022-2023

MAJ : les liens renvoient au fur et à mesure vers les comptes-rendus de spectacles

Côté opéra, il y aura pour ouvrir la saison : WERTHER JULES MASSENET , pui s Ô MON BEL INCONNU de REYNALDO HAHN en décembre avant de finir l’année avec un beau programme sud américain dirigé par la jeune et talentueuse GLASS MARCANO. De nombreux autres concerts sont également proposés ainsi qu’une belle offre jeune public qui commence très tôt avec les concerts bébés!

La deuxième partie de saison (janvier-juillet) mettra à l’honneur Donizetti avec « Lucie de Lammermoor », et le rare «  Deux Hommes et une femme » de 1841, qu’il ne put jamais voir sur scène de son vivant, avec Patrizia Ciofi, Jodie Devos, Dietrich Henschel, Florian Sempey…

Roberto Alagna, le parrain de la saison, donnera un récital au mois de juin 2023 autour d’airs d’opéras français et italiens.

Quels spectacles voir à l’Université de Tours ?

La saison culturelle est ouverte à tous et la salle Thélème refaite il y a peu accueille d’intéressantes propositions tout au long de l’année : voir ici comme par exemple : De Bejaïa à Tours de Claire Diterzi autour de l’immigration algérienne, ou encore l’adaptation théâtrale d’un roman que j’ai beaucoup aimé : Encabanée de Gabrielle Filteau-Chiba par Émilie Beauvais le 9 mars

Vous pourrez également y retrouver DÉSOBÉIR Julie Berès dont je garde un très fort souvenir ou Les femmes de barbe bleue, vu au festival d’ Avignon

Que voir à l’escale de Saint-Cyr sur Loire ?

Une salle où je retrouve avec plaisir plusieurs de mes coups de coeur du festival d’Avignon !

Je vous conseille tout particulièremen t La femme qui ne vieillissait pas avec Françoise Cadol ainsi que Tchaïka festival d’ Avignon , à ne pas manquer!

A voir également sans hésiter : La promesse de l’aube, Franck DESMEDT ainsi que Le Visiteur festival et avec les plus jeunes vous pourrez y retrouver : Ravie Compagnie Möbius-Band et découvrir Un flocon dans ma gorge de Constance Larrieu , un spectacle à retrouver également à La Riche, à Luynes, Lucé, Amboise, Abbaye de Noirlac, Vernouillet… Il fait également partie de la programmation de Scène O centre SCIN jeune public.

Côté théâtre, j’ai noté pour l’instant Simone Veil  –  Les combats d’une effrontée , d’après Une vie, de  Simone Veil , avec Cristiana Reali , ou encore la comédie CHERS PARENTS d’Emmanuel et Armelle Patron. Mais aussi pourquoi pas FALLAIT PAS LE DIRE avec le duo Évelyne Bouix / Pierre Arditi.

Coucou, Avec la rentrée, il y a énormément de nouveautés. J’en ai repéré plusieurs sur Paris. J’ai hâte de m’y rendre. Merci pour cette sélection. Belle journée

J’avais bien aimé Le crocodile trompeur (en revanche le spectacle de la même troupe n’était pas terrible du tout). J’ai moi aussi réservé quelques places pour des spectacles, surtout de la danse contemporaine, mais à Marseille/Aix.

At the Opéra Bastille, the madness of a dreamy 'Don Quixote' in love

Absent from France's premier stage since 2002, Jules Massenet's opera is reborn, served by an accomplished vocal cast and Damiano Michieletto's poetic staging.

Alexander Neef, director general of the Opéra de Paris, is continuing the institution's reconquest of the French repertoire. At Bastille until June 11, the company is presenting the rare Don Quichotte (1910) by Jules Massenet (1842-1912), an opera whose knight of the woeful countenance, then played by José Van Dam, had not ridden Rocinante since 2002 in Gilbert Deflo's staging. The composer of Manon and Werther often mixed love and melancholy. This time, as in Cendrillon , he added fantasy and the memory of a marginal and painful youth, between loneliness and harassment, which the mature man, sick and depressed, relives with the help of swallowed pills and glasses of alcohol.

Director Damiano Michieletto has set up his Don Quixote in a vast, sober 1960s apartment, with almond-green furniture and white walls whose sliding back panels act as a focal point, opening onto the outside world (in fact, Don Quixote's inner world) or closing in on the hero's daily life, revisited by ghosts of a past where the star of Dulcinea, the impossible love of his youth, still shines brightly.

The great strength of this production is the absence of any Spanish decorum (even if the music does feature guitar and castanets at times), save for the troupe of flamenco dancers in traditional costumes, completely veiled in black, whose silhouettes seem to emerge from the realm of shadows. Another phantasmatic allusion is Dulcinea's lovers (partygoing students and stalkers in blazers), then the robber brigands (young thugs armed with knives, wearing jeans and black jackets), emerging from the chest of drawers, the carpet, the sofa and the bookcase.

Voluptuous Dulcinea

Michieletto's direction is lively, tightly wound and at times prone to mannerism. Such is the case with the slow-motion dance movements that blur the action between dream and reality, distilling both poetic moments of suspension and annoying systematizations in the treatment of choruses (choreography by Thomas Wilhelm). Paolo Fantin's pared-down, elegant set opens onto the underside of a vast spiral staircase (symbolic of the psyche), under Alessandro Carletti's elegant lighting, with Agostino Cavalca's colorful, yéyé-inspired costumes: Dulcinée's apple-green twin-set in Act 1 is transformed into a provocative pink prom dress. The only equine evocation is that of a superb carousel of wooden horses, brought down from the hangers, on whose back rises a tender, childlike musical-comedy Dulcinée.

The bass Ildar Abdrazakov was initially announced for the title role. But the Russian singer's openly pro-Putin stance forced the Paris Opera to revise its casting. American Christian Van Horn (to be succeeded in June by Gabor Bretz) lends the mineral darkness of his voice to the knight errant from the novel by Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616). Power blends with vulnerability. The voluptuous, fresh Dulcinea of Gaëlle Arquez, a French mezzo who has been successfully pursuing her career on our national stage since 2012, has everything to seduce: poise, charm, coquetry but also compassion and gentleness. Etienne Dupuis' Sancho is a magnificent role of a heavenly coward with a compassionate soul. Don Quixote dies in Sancho's arms, as well as in the armchair where the hidalgo is first found when the curtain rises, with a shady pen and tormented soul, writing his picaresque tale.

Kylian Mbappe leaves PSG as their greatest talent – but not universally loved

In the end, Kylian Mbappe ’s farewell to the Parc des Princes echoed his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

There was one more goal, another trophy and one step closer to another record — the first player in French football history to win the top-flight Golden Boot in six consecutive seasons.

There was a tifo put together by the club’s ultras in the Auteuil stand before kick-off to honour his legacy — an image of his trademark celebration, arms folded. There was also a banner, stating: “Child of the Parisian banlieue, you became a PSG legend.”

But this game was not a full celebration of his seven years in Paris. Yes, there were songs lauding him, but also a few boos and whistles before kick-off when his name was read out. The night would end with a trophy lift but also in a defeat to Toulouse, only PSG’s second loss of the campaign. Luis Enrique labelled it their worst performance of the season.

Considering the impact Mbappe has made on PSG, his send-off was underwhelming. The main focus of the evening was on the title win rather than Mbappe’s goodbye. PSG celebrated their 12th Ligue 1 triumph, an achievement that brings clear daylight at the summit of French football, now two clear of Marseille and Saint-Etienne. It was also the club’s 50th major trophy. It was greeted with a glitzy party, orchestrated by celebrated Parisian composer Thomas Roussel. 

Mbappe’s announcement — made in a four-minute video on Friday via his social media channels — was just too short notice for much else. There was no concurrent statement or post from the club. They were caught by surprise.

But Mbappe could not depart PSG without clarification before the club’s final home game of the season. The weeks of innuendos about his future could not drag on beyond that. He has not revealed his destination, which all in Paris expect to be Real Madrid, but he did confirm that, this time, it really was goodbye.

How he would be received by the Parc des Princes, for the final time, was always going to be a point of focus. Would supporters cheer him? On the face of it, not hailing the club’s greatest goalscorer might seem outlandish, but this is PSG and this is Mbappe, and the last seven years of off-field drama were hardly likely to have no impact.

H is goodbye video had hints of that; Mbappe thanked nearly everyone at the club, including all of his former coaches. There was no reference, though, to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, nor former sporting director Antero Henrique.

This past season alone will have contributed to that. After informing the club that he wished to leave at the end of his contract, instead of triggering an option to extend it by a further year, he was told by PSG that he had to extend his deal or be sold. He was then unceremoniously dumped into the ‘bomb squad’ , the group of transfer-listed undesirables, and omitted from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. 

It was just the latest episode of the Mbappe-PSG soap opera. In 2022, he seemed set to sign for Real Madrid but did a late U-turn and signed a lucrative contract. A year previously, the summer was dominated by speculation about his future. So much of his spell at the club has, to an extent, felt like one very long goodbye. That can be tiresome.

Mbappe may well have been aware of that. On Friday, after his announcement video, Mbappe attended a barbecue with the club’s ultras at the Parc des Princes. From the outside, it looked like an act of goodwill before his departure. Last season, Mbappe was part of a team that was heckled as they received their medals for the Ligue 1 title, but he avoided the worst of it and his relationship has been rebuilt over time.

Throughout this season, he has not been heckled by the ultras, despite the off-field speculation. On Sunday, there were some loud whistles before kick-off but after full time, during the trophy lift, he was afforded a triple name call from matchday announcer Michel Montana. There was also the tifo after the warm-up. Mbappe went over to greet the ultras and watched as the tifo was raised in front of him. It was accompanied by Mbappe chants.

That was fitting because, despite everything, PSG will still remember him as their best-ever Parisian. He was born in Bondy, on the outskirts of Paris, and returned to the capital to break a whole host of records for the club, all before his 26th birthday.

His goal against Toulouse took him to 256 for the club, extending his position as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. For PSG, he also has the most goals in Europe, the most hat-tricks, the most ‘doubles’ and the most goals in a single game (five). He has helped France win the World Cup, scored in successive World Cup finals, including one hat-trick, has won the tournament’s Golden Boot, and has gone on to become the national team captain. 

That is his sporting legacy and fans will remember him for all of that, too. His goal on Sunday was a prime example, with a burst of incomprehensible pace, combined with sublime control and an ice-cool finish — but he also played in an era at PSG that won’t be remembered as favourably.

It has been a time of politics, player power and, fundamentally, unfulfilled ambitions for the club in the Champions League. It is a period that ended with disillusionment, a sentiment defined by fan protests last summer, which is now beginning to dissipate as the club pivot away from superstar players towards a new era and a new identity.

Over time, Mbappe will surely be remembered more fondly, as arguably their best-ever talent and a club icon. 

Right now, though, PSG and their supporters are impatient to usher in a new chapter.

Fans will look back with fondness at his greatness but, as Sunday illustrated, memories of the off-the-field noise will linger. The sentiment that greeted his farewell is not entirely affectionate d espite all that has been achieved.
