The 107 BEST Travel Instagram Captions (2024 List)

travel pictures comments

Picture yourself at the top of a mountain. A mountain you’ve traveled long and far to get to. The journey was challenging. But now, with the breathtaking horizon before you, it was all worth it. You snap (what you believe) are some of the best pictures of your life and call it a day.

Once back at your hotel room, you post your shots on Instagram and wait for lots of likes, comments, and engagement… However, these never arrive.

You get 1 or 2 dry likes from your mother and significant other – people who always seem to like everything you post.

Disappointed, you throw your phone on the bed, thinking, “people out there simply have no taste”.

BUT… what if the key to getting real Instagram engagement lies not just in the photo – but in combining great photos AND captions?

In this article, I’ll share the best travel Instagram captions you can use. These are based on years of experience my team and I have in building my Instagram profile to 100K+ followers. Through this process, I understand what works (and doesn’t).

What Makes Great Travel Instagram Captions?

It used to be that posting cool travel pictures on Instagram was enough. People would enjoy the content, like and comment, and sometimes… even share.

That is (usually) no longer the case.

Great travel Instagram captions alongside great photos and videos are now a must-have.

However, not just any Instagram caption will cut it. You need the right “Nomadic Narratives” to take your content to the next level.

Here are the best tips and tricks for creating these types of narratives.

Using Emojis Effectively

Nomadic Narratives rely on emojis to bring out the emotions.

Emojis can transform multiple words and phrases and boil them down to a single symbol. This symbol represents your best feelings as you explore new countries and touch down in different destinations.

However, a word of warning.

Do not go overboard with emojis. Too many and you’ll lose people. If your viewers need to take time to figure out what you’re saying, chances are you’ve gone overboard.

The right dosage of emojis is the first key to building Nomadic Narratives.

Leveraging Trending Topics

Nomadic Narratives are all about trending topics. These topics grab people’s interest and, most importantly, cause them to stop scrolling their Instagram feeds.

The question then becomes, “what does a trending topic look like?”

The short answer is that it’s a popular topic that’s talked about by a large group of people.

This could be a new destination opening up, the start of the summer travel season, or even a specific food that locals have just discovered.

What’s important is that you find a way to combine your images and videos with the trending topic in your caption.

After all, you want your Nomadic Narratives to be relevant to your content.

Here’s a quick example.

Let’s take the “start of summer” as a trending topic. If you’re posting a picture of yourself at the beach, you could have a caption that says:

Kicking off summer with some sun, sand and sea! 🌴 #NomadicNarratives #SummerStartsNow

The best way to stay on top of this is to watch out for current events and then use them as inspiration.

Incorporating Storytelling Elements

The ‘narrative’ part in Nomadic Narratives isn’t there by accident.

People use stories to share their experiences with others. Traveling is no different.

Your Instagram followers want to know the juicy details about your trip:

  • Did the trip go according to plan?
  • What were any unexpected incidents?
  • How did you deal with them?
  • What did you learn from them?
  • How will you plan better next time?

Addressing the above questions in the form of a story is critical. This applies to any type of content you create online. Nomadic Narratives are no different.

You can also consider the 5W’s and 1H or narrative. The 5Ws are Who, What, Where, When, and Why. The 1H is How.

Using as many of these elements means you’ll make your content more engaging and relatable for your audience.

Tailoring Your Nomadic Narratives To Fit Your Audience

coming up with great Nomadic Narratives for your adventures

Finally, consider that your Nomadic Narratives are specific to your audience. There’s no point in having specialized captions that your audience can’t relate to.

Here’s an example scenario:

  • you’re a travel agent
  • catering to middle-aged people
  • your audience wants to book a once-in-a-lifetime cruise around the Mediterranean.

Quite a specific target audience.

In this case, you can’t have Nomadic Narratives that say: “Hey, budget travelers, get ready for your backpacking adventure!”

This would not resonate with your audience (at all).

Instead, you want to have narratives like:

“Indulge in luxury travel with our exclusive cruise packages. Experience the world like never before with our top-notch amenities and personalized service.”

This shows you understand your audience’s wants and needs and can satisfy them.

This concept also applies to personal Instagram accounts. If you’re a 20-year-old traveling solo for the first time (and your audience resonates with this), don’t use captions that don’t align with your target audience.

A great caption might be:

Exploring the world one destination at a time on a shoestring budget! #travelonabudget

On the other hand, a bad one might be:

Jet-setting around the world in first class, living my best life. #blessed

There’s an obvious disconnect in the second example.

Writing travel Instagram captions to capture people’s emotions is a must.

Done right (in this world of endless scrolling), your captions take your followers on an amazing journey.

Combining captions from the right travel category above and using the Nomadic Narrative tips I gave you, you’ll be able to write compelling captions that leave your audience wanting more.

Travel Quotes by Famous People

Through inspirational quotes, Dave and I have been motivated to take chances, we’ve been inspired to travel,  and strive to live a better life. When we started our travel blog in 2008, we gathered travel quotes to share and were the original bloggers who shared daily inspiring quotes on Twitter more than 15 years ago. Whether you enjoy short quotes or longer ones you are going to enjoy these motivational quotes about traveling .

Favorite Travel Quotes

Inspiring travel quotes have certainly ignited our spirit of exploration and captured the essence of why we travel. For example,

  • “A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles,” by Tim Cahill reminds us that experiences and connections matter more than distances traveled.
  • Another stirring quote is “Life is short and the world is wide,” attributed to Simon Raven, emphasizing our limited time to explore a vast world.
  • The wisdom in St. Augustine’s words, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page,” encourages us to broaden our horizons through travel.
  • John Steinbeck’s famous saying, “People don’t take trips, trips take people,” reflects the transformative power of travel.
  • “Travel far, pay no fare… a book can take you anywhere,” by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, suggests that even in the absence of physical travel, we can journey through the pages of a good book.
  • “A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving” ~ Lao Tzu

Each of these travel quotes offers a unique perspective on the enriching experiences travel brings to life.

Feel free to pin, use as Instagram captions, download, and print these best travel quotes to put up these best travel quotes around your house for inspiration!

1. “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” ~ Saint Augustine

travel quotes The World is a book and those who do not travel read only one page by Saint Augustine

Let’s kick our list off with some of the more famous travel quotes by famous people. We’ll get to the more obscure as we go down the list.

This is definitely one of the best travel quotes of all time, but it certainly reads true. One of our favorite travel quotes is “The World is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.

When you travel, the whole world opens up. Travel has helped us to understand the meaning of life and it has helped us become better people. Each time we travel, we see the world with new eyes. Just like reading a book, when you travel, you experience more than only one page of life. Make your life a novel, not a page.

2. “Not all those who wander are lost” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

travel pictures comments

This is one of our favorite travel quotes because it gets us. Throughout our lives, people have thought that because we keep traveling and searching for new things to do, we are not focused.

They have often thought we were flaky or unfocused. But travel helped us find our purpose and put focus into our lives. The more we got lost in our travels, the richer our lives became.

Seriously people, not all those who wander are lost. That’s a statement and a quote.

So when you think that the travelers in your life are flighty remember, “not all who wander are lost “

3. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all” ~ Helen Keller

adventure travel quotes by Helen Keller - Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all

If Helen Keller can look at life as a great adventure, what excuse do the rest of us have? Take a chance and live life to the fullest. When we are at our most daring is when we feel the most fulfillment.

When we think of this travel quote, we live by it. Adventure is different for everyone, but we try to treat each day by doing something daring and adventurous, it keeps things exciting.

I wonder what she would think now knowing that she is quotes as having one of the most popular travel quotes in the world.

4. “Take only memories, leave only footprints” ~ Chief Seattle

Famous travel Quotes - Take only memories leave only footprints by Chief Seattle

Chief Seattle had many inspiring quotes, but this is probably the most famous of travel quotes, it is also a motto everyone should live by in life.

We need to give back to this world. People often feel they can take home a trophy, sneak a piece of stone from a historic site , or take something from nature.

Travel isn’t about taking, it is about absorbing the beauty of the world. So remember, sometimes only memories are all you need. They are your only private moments to enjoy. So try to take only memories.

5. “Travel is  fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.” ~ Mark Twain

Mark twain traveling Quotes

6. ” The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” ~ Marcel Proust

best travel quotes by marcel proust

When thinking about travel quotes, we often look to the most popular ones, but quote really make me think. Sure, we can set sail to different lands, but until you change your mind set, you’ll never really immerse in a voyage of discovery.

7. “Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” ~ Gustave Flaubert

Travel quotes and inspiration by Gustave Flaubert

Traveling quotes often mention the fact of how travel makes you humble and how life experiences are more important than accumulating things.

8. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do” ~ H. Jackson Brown Jr.

This doesn’t necessarily need to be related to travel quotes it can work for life quotes too. It can be scary to try something new, take a chance, and step out of your comfort zone. But when looking back on life, it’s the chances you didn’t take that you’ll regret.

9. Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.” ~ Hemmingway

quotes about travel - Be inspired by this list of the most inspiring quotes of all time

As a travel couple, this is one of those travel quotes that is close to our hearts. We love traveling together and couldn’t imagine doing it alone.

10. “Like all great travellers, I have seen more than I remember and remember more than I have seen.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

Benjamin Disraeli Inspirational quotes about travel

This is one of those travel quotes that sum up a traveler perfectly. Over the years, our memories of our travels change and our stories become larger than life. Not only do we forget the bad and remember only the good, but the senses stick with us.

11. “Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

best travel quotes Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

Before we started traveling in 2000, I only dreamed of writing for a living. But after our travels, I was so moved by many of our experiences I started writing stories to my friends and family.

When we first set off to begin our travel blog, a friend shared the works and travel quotes of Ibn Battuta with me it was through these early recommendations inspired me to become a storyteller.

No best travel quotes list would be complete without adventure quotes. Travel is an adventure and they go hand in hand. These are some of our favorite quotes about the adventure that we’ve collected over the years.

12. “If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it’s lethal” ~ Paul Coelho

Adventure travel quotes by Paul Coelho

Travel quotes about adventure are our favorite because we are always pushing our boundaries and when we’re feeling a little afraid or lazy, we always think of this quote. Plus, I like this much better than his other quote: “Travel is never a matter of money, but of courage.”

13. “Great things never came from comfort zones.” ~ Anonymous

Traveling Quotes about Adventure

It’s true! Of all the travel quotes in this list, I really feel that it rings true to life. Even if you are not traveling, you need to step out of your comfort zone.

Be it taking on a new project, opening a business, or enrolling in a course. When you do something that scares you a little, you can do something great.

14. “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” ~ Maya Angelou

Famous Quotes about travel by Maya Angelou

When looking for travel quotes about adventure travel, this one really stuck out by Maya Angelou. It wasn’t until we started to live a life less ordinary that we understood how much control we had over our lives and just how amazing we could make it.

15. “Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey” ~ Babs Hoffman

Babas Hoffman Inspirational travel quotes

This doesn’t only have to be one of those quotes on travel alone. Life itself has a lot of potholes. Whether you are traveling or at home working at your job, you should definitely enjoy the journey.

16. “Fear is only temporary. Regrets last forever.”

best travel quotes for motivation | fear is only temporary, regrets last forever

Are you wanting to travel the world but are afraid to take the next step? The travel quote above says it all. Fear is only temporary , but if you don’t follow your dream, you may regret it forever.

We are not saying to follow travel quotes like this blindly. Don’t put yourself in dangerous situations, but don’t let being afraid of the unknown consume you either.

17. “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Best Quotes About Traveling life begins at the end of your comfort zone

This is one of my favorite travel quotes on adventure travel. It’s scary to step out of your comfort zone, but if you do so with proper training and guidance, a whole new life will begin!

18. “Travel doesn’t become adventure until you leave yourself behind”

Well to me this quote means you have to leave your burdens, your stress, and your preconceived notions behind. To understand travel, you must be open to new possibilities and it will change your life.

19. “Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you. ~ David McCullough

Traveling Quote by David McCullough

This is one of those quotes about travel that has never rung truer than in today’s society. Everyone is traveling to show off and brag or catch a selfie rather than to have an experience. But its the experience that you’ll remember, not the social share.

20. “Jobs fill your pocket but adventures fill your soul.” ~ Jamie Lyn Beatty

It’s true, we all have to do our job and have our careers. And that is important we need to make money to be able to live. But it is also important to take time to smell the roses and let go of work when you are not in the office.

We have always looked at our lives this way, jobs fill your pocket so that you can spend your down time having a great adventure. Be it travel or at home, life begins outside the office.

I love funny travel quotes. Sometimes when we get stressed out or frustrated with travel, we need to sit back and laugh about the little things.

21. “Don’t worry about the world ending today, it’s already tomorrow in Australia.” ~ Charles M. Schulz

funny quotes charles m schulz

We all have worries every day and more than ever the state of the world is in question. But travel makes you forget your troubles and Charles Schulz couldn’t have said it better. It’s the funniest of travel quotes.

22. “I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate people than to travel with them.” ~ Mark Twain

We have always given the advice that if you want to test to see if you are compatible in your relationship, go and travel together for a while.

Mark Twain could not be more correct. If you can travel with someone you’ll be friends for life! So put these travel quotes to the test and travel with someone right now!

23.  “A Journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you can control it. ” ~ John Steinbeck

be inspired by theses funny traveling quotes | john steinbeck

When traveling, things are often out of our control and we have found that it is better to relax and let go. And that is true for our marriage as well. We can’t always be in control and that is half the fun!

24. “Drink Heavily with locals whenever possible.” ~ Anthony Bourdain

antony bordain travel quote | drink heavily

For those of you who are afraid to fly, I am afraid that you are not going to find the humor in this travel quote, but I find it quite cheeky.

27. “I always like to go to Washington D.C. It gives me a chance to visit my money.” ~ Bob Hope

bob hope funny travel quote

This one made me chuckle because we were just in Ottawa (Canada’s National Capital) and we made a point of saying “ Now we know where our taxes go, look at all the beautiful museums and buildings in this city! ”

And even though Bob Hope was talking about his home country of the USA, it certainly rings true anywhere. So, we put it in our best travel quotes list, because everyone can relate!

28. “Jet Lag is for Amateurs.” ~ Dick Clark

best travel quote | jet lag is for amateurs

While I think it’s a funny travel quote, I tend to disagree with Dick Clark. It seems that the more I travel, the worse jet lag gets. But then I suck it up and think of him and then I say “Deal with it Deb, Jet Lag is for amateurs.” See, travel quotes can be motivating!

29. “Travel is glamorous only in retrospect.” ~ Paul Theroux

Travel is glamorous only in retrospect by Paul Theroux

I love this travel quote so much because it is very true. When we come home from our travels, we always forget the tough times and difficult experiences.

We only remember the beautiful things about our travels and the bad stuff fades away. But let me tell you, we’ve had some very unglamorous travels in our lives.

30. “I wish I had never gone traveling.” Said no one ever.

travel quotes | I wish I had never gone traveling said no one ever

Traveling Wisdom through quotes.

Hi Dave and Deb,

I absolutely loved your article about the ultimate travel quotes! As someone who is always on the lookout for inspiration to travel, reading through these quotes made me feel excited and motivated to plan my next adventure. Who said so?

Great Words

Wonderful collection

I was hoping the pandemic will end up so I can free travel again for adventure. Thanks a lot for sharing your collection qoutes.

Thanks for the travel quotes. I’m going to save some and print them out. My favorite is like a lot of people here. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. This year has proven that. We can’t sit around all day and be happy. Let’s make it an adventure.

My choices for the best travel quotes are: Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all Travel makes one modest you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page

Great travel quotes, although I don’t get this one… The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. Does travel give you new eyes or do you have to have your eyes open before traveling? Hmm, things to think about.

These really are inspirational travel quotes. I love this one by Anthony Bourdain. “Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”

These are the best travel quotes I’ve seen! What a list! And thank you for the pictures. This phrase “Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” Really puts it all into perspective. When you travel (really travel, not as a tourist) you understand that you are not the center of the universe. And I agree travel really does make you richer. Thanks

Wow! What a list of inspirational travel quotes. I’m going to print these off to get motivated and start saving for travels. Here’s to traveling the world! My favourites are Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore But I agree with you, it should be “people”

Thanks for the inspiration with these travel quotes. I am looking forward to traveling again!

Those are amazing travel quotes, thanks for sharing! My favourite is “Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before” by the Dalai Lama. May I share your picture of it on my social media? Of course, I’d mention that it belongs to you. Thanks and have a great day?

These are beautiful words to live by. Experience life and adventure.

Loved it: “KEEP YOUR FACE ALWAYS TOWARD THE SUNSHINE – AND SHADOWS WILL FALL BEHIND YOU.”

Congrats on the article and keep it updated! Love the one of: “Travel…the best way to be lost and found at the same time.” Travel is a mix of feeling with sometimes the fear of get lose but feeling free at the same time.

JACKSON BROWN JR

Those are fantastic! My favourite is “I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE AIN’T NO SURER WAY TO FIND OUT WHETHER YOU LIKE PEOPLE OR HATE THEM THAN TO TRAVEL WITH THEM.” ~ MARK TWAIN” We have found this out first hand in our travels and there is no truer travel quote 😀

Didn’t see this one above but it’s one of my favorites and from a very well traveled Nat Geo photographer:

“Ibn Battuta never dwells on what drove him on.

Curiosity? Perhaps . . . More likely it was a quest for knowledge.

One never seduced by a foreign culture cannot appreciate the fetters of his own. Life, after all, is a journey – a voyage of discovery.

Why not take the high road?”

Thomas Abercrombie, National Geographic

Thanks for sharing, that’s a great message. I love finding new words of wisdom.

travel makes your mind opened wider than before dudes. so, let’s go to explore

Top 100 Travel Photos from Around the World

Posted on 24th February 2020 1st February 2022 Author Ben Farrell

In celebration of my new book, Capture the World: The Ultimate Guide to Evocative Travel Photography & Inspired Digital Storytelling , I’ve curated my top 100 travel photos from around the world.

Nothing opens the mind like travel. New places and cultures have a transformational power that expands our consciousness, pushing us deep into a place that’s both overwhelming yet grounding. Quantum physics teaches us that what we ‘see’ as reality is anything but . Not only is our perception merely an illusion but even this, we perceive through a cluttered and bias lens of past experience , likes, dislikes, and long-held beliefs. This static and rigid schema begins in childhood and solidifies as our ego expands and we begin to subconsciously filter out what we don’t consider valuable.

travel pictures comments

The problem here is we miss so much. We stop appreciating the raw, present experiences and instead edit, rehearse and re-run life in our head . Yet, travel has the power to break down this arrogant veil and get us seeing the world anew again. It makes us present and appreciative as well as imbues an understanding that our way of living is only one among many yet, we’re all connected as humans across cultures as a giant diverse web of collective consciousness .

For me, I think it’s important to capture these moments. To freeze time and light of a moment and make it immortal. Travel photography is powerful and serves as not just a reminder of our travels and the vastness of the globe but also inspires us to wander profoundly, travel deeply and surrender wholly… to take the Road Less Travelled. I did, and that has made all the difference.

This collection spans countries, continents, and cultures. So, strap yourself in for a visual journey taking in the top photos from around the world. IN PHOTOS: Into the wild with Japan’s snow monkeys

NOT CAGED. As you step into the park, you might be surprised to find monkeys casually walking right beside you and just hanging out on the railings.

Jacqueline Hernandez/Rappler

MANILA, Philippines – A visit to Japan wouldn’t be complete without seeing the famous snow monkeys chilling in hot springs.

If you’re someone who loves adventure and enjoys being around wildlife, then this park is perfect for you. Here, the monkeys have the freedom to roam around without any barriers separating them from the visitors. However, if you’re nervous around wild animals, this might not be your ideal spot.

travel pictures comments

Situated at the foot of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park in Yamanouchi, Nagano Prefecture, the Jigokudani Monkey Park (also known as the Snow Monkey Park) is home to a special troop of Japanese macaques. Established in 1964, the park serves as a conservation area where these monkeys can live freely in their natural habitat.

Getting there

The park is quite far from Tokyo, about a 4-hour car ride away. However, if you’re taking public transport, your best option is to catch the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo Station to Nagano Station, which only takes around 1.5 hours. From there, an Express bus will take you directly to Kanbayashi Onsen, where the park is located. The bus ride will last approximately 45 minutes.

travel pictures comments

To reach the park hassle-free, you can also consider joining a group tour. This way, you won’t need to worry about catching the right train or bus. While it’s possible to visit in a day, I suggest making it part of a longer trip. You can even combine it with a visit to the nearby Shiga Kōgen Ski Area to make the most of your time.

travel pictures comments

The best time to see the monkeys bathing in the hot springs is during the winter months. Given their wild nature, it’s worth mentioning that their presence isn’t guaranteed during your visit. I suggest checking their live camera before your visit to see if they’re around that day.

Another good thing about the park is that it’s open every day of the year. However, the opening hours vary depending on the season. In the Green Season, from April to October, the park welcomes visitors from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. During the Winter Season, from November to March, it’s open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Walking to the park

Make sure you have sturdy hiking shoes suitable for the season to avoid accidents. To reach the park, you’ll need to hike about 1.6 km or 1 mile on a small trail. I went last April and found the trail to be quite slippery due to snow covering it, and there are no barriers along the cliff edges.

At the beginning of the trail, there’s a small information center and souvenir shop called Snow Monkey Resorts Info & Gift Shop. You can check it out, but note that there’s another souvenir shop at the top.

travel pictures comments

You’re looking at a hike of about 30 to 40 minutes each way, depending on your pace. It’s a really nice and peaceful walk, with a lot of tall evergreen trees everywhere you look.

travel pictures comments

Before you reach the final stretch of the trail, you’ll come across the charming small hot spring village of Kanbayashi Onsen. When you get to the last part of the trail, visitors have to climb up a staircase to enter the park.

travel pictures comments

In this area, there’s a small hut where you can purchase your tickets. The tickets cost JPY800, which is about P300 for adults, and JPY800 or around P150 for kids aged 6-17. Children under 5 years old get in for free.

Once you’re inside the park, you’ll notice some signs reminding visitors of a few rules to follow: such as not feeding or touching the monkeys, refraining from eating or drinking while in the park, keeping a safe distance from the monkeys (1 to 2 meters), and avoiding the use of selfie sticks or flash photography. To avoid any hassle, everyone must stick to these rules, especially with all those CCTV cameras around.

travel pictures comments

Don’t forget, this is the monkeys’ territory, so let’s be respectful guests. As you walk along the pathway, you might see some monkeys hanging around on the railings. The pathway will lead you to a man-made pool where the monkeys often gather.

It’s really fun to watch how the monkeys interact with each other, and you can get quite close to them. You’ll notice that the monkeys are practically experts at the art of ignoring humans, that they hardly pay any attention to us.

travel pictures comments

Several generations of monkeys have been born and raised near humans, which has made them quite comfortable around us. There are no barriers between visitors and monkeys, and because the park has a strict rule against feeding them, the monkeys are peaceful and behave naturally as they go about their daily routines.

Being able to observe the monkeys up close as they move around you with ease, and seeing them groom each other, dive in the water, search for food, take care of their young, and play around, is an experience you won’t forget anytime soon. – Rappler.com

Speaker Mike Johnson assails Trump’s felony trial in remarkable visit outside courthouse

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson has become the highest-level Republican to attend Donald Trump’s hush money trial, a signal of the former president’s grip on the GOP as the country heads toward the November election.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson assailed the hush money case against Donald Trump Tuesday as an illegitimate “sham,” becoming the highest-ranking Republican to show up at court, embrace the former president’s claims of political persecution and attack the U.S. system of justice.

It was a remarkable moment in modern American politics: The House speaker amplifying Trump’s defense and turning the Republican Party against the federal and state legal systems that are foundational to the U.S. government and a cornerstone of democracy.

Johnson, who is second in line for the presidency , called the court system “corrupt.”

Outside the New York courthouse, he decried “this ridiculous prosecution that is not about justice.” He said, “It’s all about politics.”

AP AUDIO: Speaker Mike Johnson’s appearance at Trump’s felony trial marks a remarkable moment in US politics

AP correspondent Julie Walker reports House Speaker Mike Johnson lends his support to Donald Trump at court today.

The speaker is leading a growing list of Republican lawmakers who are criticizing the American judicial system as they rally to Trump’s side, appearing at the courthouse to defend the party’s presumptive presidential nominee. Trump is accused of having arranged secret payments to a porn actress to hide negative stories during his successful 2016 campaign for president.

With Trump stuck in court and barred by a judge’s gag order from criticizing witnesses or certain elements of the case, Johnson and the lawmakers are taking it upon themselves to attack the proceedings, now in a fourth week of witness testimony. They’re using the trial as a de facto campaign stop as they work to return the former president to the White House.

(AP Photo/Jack Dura, File)

In portraying the case against Trump as politically motivated, the Republicans are also laying the groundwork to dismiss its significance should the jury convict, and for potential challenges to the fall election, a rematch with President Joe Biden, a Democrat.

Johnson was a chief architect of Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential results ahead of the Jan. 6, 2021, mob assault on the U.S. Capitol, and last week he called the hush money trial and the other election-year cases against Trump a “borderline criminal conspiracy.”

“It is election interference,” Johnson said Tuesday, insisting he was appearing on his own to back Trump, whom he called a friend. “And the American people are not going to let this stand.”

Unlike other Republicans showing up to show their support, Johnson did not enter the courtroom where Trump is on trial, but dashed back to Washington to open the House chamber for the day.

Later at the Capitol, Johnson repeated the Republican Party’s claims of the justice system being “weaponized” against Trump and said Americans are “losing faith” in it.

Also with Trump on Tuesday were U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum — both considered possible vice presidential candidates — as well as former GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, one of Trump’s current top surrogates.

U.S. Sens. JD Vance of Ohio and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama were among those who attended court on Monday .

Trump’s campaign has lined up allies in recent days to appear at the New York courthouse to attack witnesses and others whom Trump is barred by a judge’s gag order from criticizing himself.

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida said Monday that he appeared last week at the invitation of Trump senior advisor Susie Wiles. The campaign has said others volunteered to come to New York.

“The Democrats are using the court system to go after and prosecute, criminally, a political opponent — that’s a crime,” Scott said over the weekend on Fox News. “They’re just thugs trying to stop Trump from being able to run for president.”

In the short term, the Republicans’ presence at the courthouse and comments critical of the process have let Trump and his allies amplify their message without risking another explicit violation of the gag order. Trump’s attorneys have challenged the gag order as unconstitutional, but an appeals court upheld it on Tuesday.

Johnson specifically attacked the credibility of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and fixer who began his second day of testimony in the former president’s hush money trial. And others, too.

He criticized Cohen as “a man who is clearly on a mission for personal revenge,” said lead prosecutor Matthew Colangelo “recently received over $10,000 in payments from the Democratic National Committee” and said the daughter of Judge Juan M. Merchan has made “millions of dollars” doing online fundraising for Democrats.

Colangelo, who joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in 2022 and previously worked in the U.S. Justice Department in the Biden administration, did paid “political consulting” work for the DNC in 2018, according to federal campaign finance records.

The Republican speaker, who is wholly dependent on support from Trump to keep the gavel, has aimed to strengthen their alliance, particularly as Johnson has come under fire from his own caucus in the House, including a failed effort at his removal by a fellow Trump backer, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.

Johnson made an appearance with the former president at his Mar-a-Lago club last month to announce new House legislation to require proof of citizenship for voting , echoing Trump’s baseless claims that Democrats are abetting immigrants entering the U.S. illegally to swing elections — another potential route for Republican challenges to the 2024 election.

There isn’t any indication that noncitizens vote in significant numbers in federal elections or that they will in the future.

And Johnson joined Trump on stage for the Republican National Committee’s gala at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month, praising the presumptive presidential nominee and saying House Republicans fully expect to ride Trump’s coattails to their own re-elections to keep the majority hold on the chamber.

Johnson has been using the pulpit of the speaker’s office in Washington to attack the U.S. judicial system, criticizing the courts as biased against the former president, claiming the case is politically motivated by Democrats and insisting Trump has done nothing wrong.

The speaker has demurred when asked if the 2020 election was legitimate, and in a departure from the tradition of trust and adherence in U.S. election systems, Johnson and other Republicans have hedged when asked if they will accept the election results of 2024.

California Governor Praises Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Amid "Technical Issue" with Foundation

"They're a celebrated organization that does great work in the state of California," Gov. Gavin Newsom said, noting that they are "in full compliance."

preview for 5 Causes Meghan Markle Champions

During a press conference yesterday , Newsom said "there's been unbelievable amount of attention that has been placed on the Archewell Foundation." He continued, "I'm here at a behavioral health site, a mental health site; Archewell Foundation, run by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, they do extraordinary work, particularly [with] women and girls, but notably around mental health."

Newsom added, "I just want folks to know, not only are they in compliance, it was a technical paperwork issue that was wildly over-hyped and with respect I hope people who ran those headlines run this headline: It was a very typical, technical issue around paperwork that persists for so many others as well. They're in full compliance and they're a celebrated organization that does great work in the state of California. So I wanted to clarify that, because that's important, and I just thought there was a little bit of a pilling-on that was deeply unfair to that charity."

In a statement, an Archewell Foundation spokesperson said, "We have diligently investigated the situation and can confirm that The Archewell Foundation remains fully compliant and in good standing. Due payments were made promptly and in accordance with the IRS's processes and procedures. Furthermore, all necessary paperwork had been filed by the Foundation without error or wrongdoing."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched the Archewell Foundation in 2020, and their motto is "Show Up, Do Good"—their website reads, "We believe in the power of community as a transformative solution for our collective wellbeing."

Ukraine war latest: Ukraine 'destroys Russian Black Sea minesweeper'

Ukraine's navy says it has destroyed a Russian Black Sea fleet minesweeper. Meanwhile, an attack on a residential area in Kharkiv left six civilians injured - with Ukraine saying it is investigating the bombing as a potential war crime.

Russian forces likely intend to launch the second phase of their offensive following their anticipated seizure of Vovchansk, three miles from the Russian border, according to the latest analysis from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said yesterday that Russian forces advanced between five and 10 kilometres in the northern Kharkiv region before Ukrainian forces stopped Russian advances.

The ISW says Russian forces are currently prioritising the seizure of Vovchansk because it is likely one of the remaining tactical objectives of the first phase, noting it is the largest settlement immediately on the border that would provide Russian forces with a staging ground to prepare for and launch the second phase.

The Russian objectives of the second phase are not yet clear, the ISW says. It could be to expand the "buffer zone" further in width along the border, or to advance closer to Kharkiv city.

Russian forces have also recently intensified efforts to seize the operationally significant town of Chasiv Yar, the ISW says, seeking to exploit the pressure on stretched Ukrainian forces.

The number of people killed in Russian strikes on a Kharkiv recreation area has risen from five to six, with an employee of the resort still unaccounted for.

At least 27 people were injured in the two airstrikes, which came about 20 minutes apart, according to an update from the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office on Telegram.

The missing employee was fishing by a reservoir when the attack happened, the update said.

Two police officers are among the injured, it added.

The UK's defence secretary has confirmed the military aid that has been "rushed" to Ukraine.

Grant Shapps said the "world cannot wait" as he urged nations to "step up" and support Kyiv's fight against Russia.

Among the items sent by the UK are 80 defence missiles, one million rounds of ammunition and 20 Viking amphibious protected vehicles.

Mr Shapps' tweet comes after he urged allies to give permission to Ukraine to use the weapons they have supplied against targets in Russian-annexed Crimea.

"We have been very, very clear with the world and helpful to Ukraine - for example, providing permissions for our weapons to be used throughout the whole of Ukraine ... that includes Crimea, which was taken by Putin in 2014," he told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg:

"Now, we do not get into how we would allow targeting with our weapons to be used outside of that. But we do provide our weapons to Ukraine in order for them to defend their country."

Pressed on Volodymyr Zelensky's calls for weapons to be available for strikes inside Russia, Mr Shapps said: "I can't go into the specifics of those private conversations about how the weapons are precisely used."

Finland will propose a law that would see it turn back migrants to Russia without processing their asylum applications - despite this potentially breaching its international human rights commitments.

Finland shut its border with Russia last year to stop a growing number of arrivals from countries including Syria and Somalia.

It accused Moscow of weaponising migration against Finland and the European Union, an assertion the Kremlin denies.

"As this phenomenon is in Russia's hands - who comes, where from and when, to Finland's border - we cannot permit it," Prime Minister Petteri Orpo told reporters.

"Therefore we have to augment our legislation."

The bill would allow border authorities to turn back asylum seekers who cross from Russia, with or without using force. But it would not apply to children and disabled people.

The proposal will go to parliament next week, where it will be submitted to the constitutional committee for review. It will need five-sixths of votes cast in parliament to pass - the high bar required for constitutional matters - and success is not certain.

The General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces have published their daily operational update...

It says "intense" fighting is ongoing along almost the entire frontline, with 78 "combat clashes" already today, compared to 110 for the entirety of yesterday.

The Russian forces became increasingly active on the Kharkiv front, with seven clashes reported so far today.

The situation in Kharkiv is "dynamic", it says, with Russian troops trying to push back the Ukrainian units near Vovchansk, Starytsia and Lyptsi.

Russia said on Saturday its forces had captured the village of Starytsia, bringing the total number of villages it has taken in the Kharkiv region to 13.

Russia has been pushing ahead with a ground offensive in recent days that opened a new front in northeastern Ukraine's Kharkiv region and put further pressure on Kyiv's overstretched military.

Russian forces have also increased their activity on the Siversk front and are attempting to break through Ukrainian defences in Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske and Rozdolivka, the update says.

Oleksandr Usyk defeated British boxing star Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world on Saturday night.

But Fury says the outcome was down to the Ukraine war.

He disputed his loss after the match, saying: "I believe I won that fight. I think he won a few rounds but I won the majority of them.

"His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war. Make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion."

In response, Ukrainian Usyk said he was "ready for rematch," but later added: "I don't think about rematch now, I want to rest."

After today's attacks President Volodymyr Zelenskyy again called on Western allies to supply Kyiv with additional air defence systems to protect Kharkiv and other cities.

He said there were reports "every hour" of fresh attacks.

"Missiles, bombs, artillery are the only things that allow Russia to continue its aggression," he said on Telegram.

"The world can stop Russian terror - and to do so, the lack of political will among leaders must be overcome."

"Two Patriots for Kharkiv will make a fundamental difference," he said, referring to Patriot missile defence systems.

Air defence systems for other cities and sufficient support for soldiers on the front line would ensure Russia's defeat, the president added.

This morning, Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said the delay in giving aid to Ukraine gave Russia a window of opportunity for its new offensive.

Five people have died in strikes on two villages in the Kupiansk district in Kharkiv, local officials say.

It brings the number of people killed in the Kharkiv region today to 10, after five people died in strikes on a recreation area in a northern suburb of the city of Kharkiv.

Local governor Oleh Syniehubov said Russian forces shelled two villages with a self-propelled multiple rocket launcher.

At least nine people were injured in the attacks.

We're getting photos of the aftermath of strikes on a recreation area just outside Kharkiv which killed five people and left at least 16 injured.

The pictures show a lakeside resort, where shortly before the attacks local residents were "resting, enjoying a normal way of life", according to a local police inspector (see our 11.54 post).

Parademics and police tend to the wounded, but were also caught up in the second strike, which came about 20 minutes after the first.

These are known as "double tap" strikes, which kill or injure emergency workers at the scene of strike impacts.

Here are the latest photos from the scene...

Meta unveils travel mode for using Quest headsets during flights like Vision Pro

Avatar for Zac Hall

Update: Three weeks later, Meta has announced the feature alongside a new partnership with an airline. Original coverage from April 18 below…

Today I learned two things. First, apparently Meta Quest headsets don’t work on planes? I guess Apple knew to prioritize that feature for Vision Pro. And second, support is reportedly on the way. Add this to the list of ways competition from Vision Pro is making Meta Quest 3 a better product.

For April, Meta released software update v64 that makes Quest 3 passthrough more like Vision Pro, users say. Motion blur is more noticeable, but still clarity is increased. Meta has also added support for viewing spatial videos captured from iPhone 15 Pro.

Now Meta may be planning to introduce flight support as soon as v65 next month. Per @Lunayian on X ( via Nicholas Sutrich ), several code strings reference travel mode for use on a plane.

Early NUX render to introduce "Flight Mode" I found in Meta Quest OS v65 pic.twitter.com/oq2GzCiaZu — Luna (@Lunayian) April 18, 2024

Apple pushes watching movies and TV shows during flights as a key use case for Apple Vision Pro. It’s one of the first things you see at the top of Apple’s website currently.

Surely Meta has taken notice and prioritized travel mode as it positions Meta Quest 3 as a dramatically cheaper solution to Vision Pro with many of the same capabilities.

The most impactful change, however, would be around multitasking. Quest headsets are limited to three app windows at a time right now. Apple Vision Pro has plenty of other limitations, but there’s virtually no limit to how many windows can be placed around a room and used together.

  • Zuckerberg says Meta Quest 3 is better than Apple Vision Pro
  • Apple Vision Pro is already making the Meta Quest 3 better
  • Vision Pro latency by far the best on passthrough; lags behind Meta on angular motion
  • Meta confirms spatial video playback coming to Quest one day before Vision Pro launch

Hip-hop bling is the thing at a luminous new jewelry exhibit

“Ice Cold” celebrates the cultural impact and brilliant style of rappers from Run-DMC to the Notorious B.I.G.

travel pictures comments

H ip-hop jewelry has gone by many names over the past 50 years . “Bling-bling” crystallized into “ice,” which melted into “drip” as rappers went from adorning their necks with gold chains and knuckles with four-finger rings to decking out their teeth and wrists in diamonds. One-upping your opponent in a rap battle couldn’t be done with lyrical prowess alone. You also had to look fly. As inner-city rappers sought global respect for their street poetry as a reputable art form throughout the ’80s and ’90s, so too did up-and-coming immigrant jewelers who found a commonality in their hustle to attain the American Dream.

At New York City’s American Museum of Natural History, 66 culturally priceless heirlooms are now on display as part of “Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry.” Sean M. Decatur, the museum’s president, told The Washington Post “Ice Cold” was a “natural fit” for the Meister Gallery inside the Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals, which has previously hosted three jewelry-themed exhibits. To him, the gems “tell an interesting broader cultural story.”

“When you are from a people who come from a history where the right to express one’s identity was constantly being questioned, challenged and diminished, it takes on special meaning to present yourself in a particular way that is so deeply tied into one’s own understanding of self,” Decatur said of the pieces that reflect Black and Latino diasporic experiences.

Old-school fans will recognize Public Enemy’s ’80s leather medallion featuring its logo of a Black man caught in the crosshairs of a gun sight to raise awareness about police brutality. Aficionados will spot the legendary yellow gold Jesus piece that the Notorious B.I.G. rapped about in his 1997 hit “Hypnotize.” Onlookers can “lean back” and admire Fat Joe’s 14-karat white gold and diamond Terror Squad logo necklace to learn about how hip-hop crews grew into music collectives by the early ’00s.

“Ice Cold” is an extension of hip-hop journalist Vikki Tobak’s 2022 coffee-table book of the same name, which features more than 300 pages of classic photos and heartfelt essays showcasing what “stuntin’” really means to rappers. The author, who worked as director of publicity and marketing at Payday Records in the ’90s, felt it was important for fans and critics alike to see physical representations of hip-hop’s undeniable presence up close.

“The fact that it’s inside of this museum that’s dedicated to the history of mankind, I really saw the magnitude of placing this kind of work in that kind of context and putting all these new eyes on it,” Tobak said.

W ith cases named after songs such as “Money, Power & Respect” and “U See Us,” the curator emphasized that the jewels don’t necessarily signify decadence. “Ice Cold” shows a kaleidoscopic spectrum of stories — from the time when making it was “all a dream” to memorializing a fallen friend.

“Artists have fully stepped into their power,” Tobak said. “They really understand that what they wear is often just as important as their music. ‘U See Us,’ is named after the Nipsey [Hussle] song, and it’s meant to speak to how all eyes now are on hip-hop for everything — style, fashion, music, politics even.”

The Style section

Tobak, whose family immigrated from Kazakhstan to Detroit in the ’70s, thinks “Ice Cold” is especially timely as the gatekeepers of couture fashion houses and legacy jewelers have not only welcomed tastemakers such as A$AP Ferg and Tyler, the Creator into the fold, but have also taken inspiration from classic hip-hop chain styles.

“You think about the way that hip-hop has been embraced by the luxury world just in the past 10 years and what it means for jewelry,” Tobak said. “Certain link styles you’re starting to see in mainstream culture. I think we needed this past 10 years to tell that additional layer.”

A$AP Ferg’s finery

F erg, a founding member of the A$AP Mob hip-hop collective, used to walk past Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue on his way home to Harlem from the High School of Art and Design. “When you don’t have the money to actually buy something, you don’t feel comfortable walking through these stores,” he said. As a teenager, then known as Darold Ferguson Jr., he designed crystal-studded pendants that got his friends robbed due to how realistic they looked. In 2018, Ferg made history as Tiffany’s first hip-hop brand ambassador.

At “Ice Cold,” the “Plain Jane” rapper’s 18-karat white gold and diamond Tiffany T bracelet glistens next to a more sentimental piece — a custom IF & Co. “Yamborghini” necklace. Inspired by the Lamborghini logo, the Ben Baller -designed pendant is made of 14-karat white gold with 65 carats of white VVS diamonds and a custom Hermes link diamond chain to honor the late Mob member A$AP Yams. Ferg said designing and buying chains is “just another extension of your soul.”

“Whenever I buy jewelry, it has a purpose,” Ferg said. “[We’re] not just spending mad bread on things. We’re mimicking our forefathers. You think about Egypt, the gods, King Tut, Mansa Musa — the richest man in the world — Black man. We’re just mimicking who we are. We’re kings and queens.”

Roc-A-Fella Records logo pendant

W hen Jay-Z raps “got the hottest chick in the game wearin’ my chain,” Roc Nation senior vice president Lenny “Lenny S” Santiago flashes back to the moment he snapped a photo of Beyoncé sporting her husband’s Roc-A-Fella necklace. The 14-karat rose gold and diamond pendant, made by the often name-dropped Jacob “the Jeweler” Arabo, depicts the record label’s iconic logo — a vinyl record with a bottle of champagne and a cursive letter R.

“It represents what Roc was,” Santiago said. “They were getting money, they were buying jewelry, they were popping champagne. That logo became so famous because of what was built. So, forget about what the actual emblem is. It’s what it represents . And it represented independence. When you look at it, you think of the whole Roc-A-Fella to Roc Nation empire.”

Jam Master Jay’s Adidas pendant

B ack in 1986, when kids wanted to sport Run-DMC’s signature Kangol hats and tracksuits, Bronx native Santiago said he was more intrigued by the group’s ability to broker hip-hop’s first endorsement deal with Adidas. His sentiment comes full circle at “Ice Cold,” where Jam Master Jay’s 14-karat yellow gold chain with a black enamel Adidas pendant is featured in the exhibit’s entryway case.

Today, he admires how hip-hop artists have used their business acumen to take the B-boy from the streets to the C-suite, with high-profile collaborations between the likes of Pharrell Williams and Louis Vuitton.

“Nobody would have thought [of] that in the ’70s and ’80s when rappers were just wearing thick gold rope chains,” Santiago said.

Nicki Minaj’s Barbie pendant

I ndian jeweler Ashna Mehta created Minaj’s 2022 18-karat white gold Barbie pendant encrusted in 54.47 carats of diamonds and bright pink enamel. She said via email the exhibit recognizes “how the tradition of adornment is alive and well in modern times.” The heiress to the Indian-Belgian jewelry company Rosy Blue grew up in New York and Dubai, where she said hip-hop’s irresistible style was fully embraced across cultures.

“The pieces are not just accessories,” Mehta said. “They are historical artifacts of our time. As a woman in this industry, creating for another woman who has carved her path in such a male-dominated field is profoundly meaningful. It’s more than just adornment. It’s a celebration of feminine strength, resilience and leadership.”

Pendants with pizazz

D esigner Alex Moss believes his craftsmanship sets a new standard for sophistication. The Toronto native of Armenian descent thinks “Ice Cold” makes a statement that hip-hop jewelry is “art at the highest level.”

“It’s in the same room they’ve had exhibits for Van Cleef, for Cartier, for Harry Winston,” Moss said. “The times are changing. It’s not about 100-year-old jewelry anymore. This is today’s jewelry.”

“Ice Cold” features some of Moss’s most notable pieces, such as A$AP Rocky’s 14-karat gold EXO grenade pendant clock, Drake’s 18K white gold “Crown Jewel of Toronto” pendant with yellow and blue diamonds and Burmese rubies and the bellhop pendant for Tyler, the Creator. The $500,000 14-karat gold pendant and chain has 186 carats in diamonds, 60 carats in sapphires and more than 23,000 handset stones.

“After I put that one out, I think everyone pretty much woke up and said, ‘Who is this kid?’” Moss said.

Pharrell Williams’s grillz

U nlike Moss, who entered the jewelry industry in 2016 without any contacts, 27-year-old grill maker Elan Pinhasov grew up in the family business — Gabby Elan Jewelry. His father, Gabriel, immigrated from Israel in 1990, and over the years, he used his dental training to design more comfortable, custom mouthpieces for the likes of Ol’ Dirty Bastard from the Wu-Tang Clan, Dua Lipa, J Balvin and, most recently, Rihanna . But one particular customer can’t get enough of Gabby Elan designs. “Ice Cold” features two blinged-out grillz owned by Pharrell — a 14-karat white gold set with ruby pavé surrounded by white pavé diamonds from 2006 that Pinhasov estimates cost Williams about $10,000, and a 22-karat yellow gold set with yellow natural pavé diamonds from 2021 for $40,000.

“The [yellow diamond] set I think was originally intended for the Met Gala,” Pinhasov said, noting that the artist wanted bigger stones than those placed in the initial design. “So we have this set [at the exhibit] as kind of like a prototype, and the set that he currently has, has diamonds that are twice the size.”

Pinhasov said his father spent decades making a name for himself in the heart of Brooklyn at Albee Square Mall, formerly a hip-hop hot spot for jewels and rap battles. But the young designer encouraged him to move the business to the Diamond District in October 2018 to keep up with the competition. Having spent summers, weekends and even after-school hours selling gems since 2013, Pinhasov doesn’t see the flashy ornaments as a fading trend anytime soon.

“You can wear the most expensive watch, you can wear the most expensive shoe, any piece of jewelry, but everyone’s first impression is looking at someone’s face,” Pinhasov said. “If they smile and see a magnificent set of grillz, it sticks your attention to that forever.”

“Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry” runs through Jan. 5, 2025. American Museum of Natural History, 200 Central Park West, New York. Tickets for nonresidents from $16 to $28. www.amnh.org .
