The original company was founded in 1970 under the name Captain Chris Cruises, and was the first company operating cruises to and from Famagusta to the relatively unknown Ayia Napa, then just a small fishing village. The vessel now in operation is the Aphrodite II which is fully up to specification with current EU Maritime law.

What is the departure location and what time should we get there.

Our Lazy Day Cruise with Aphrodite II departs officially from Ayia Napa Harbor at 10:15. Please see location on Google Maps below. We advise that you arrive at your departure location at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. For Ayia Napa Harbor, click HERE to see location.

Can i book the transfer service when making my reservation?

Yes of course. If you wish to book our transfer service for your cruise please assure to add the 'Extra' option that applies to you.

The prices are for a two-way transfer and are as follow:

• From Protaras Area: 8€ for adults & 5€ for children
• From Ayia Napa Area: 5€ for adults & 3€ for children

Is there an age restriction for the trip?

No, our Lazy Day Cruise with Aphrodite II has no age restriction, we have had passengers of all ages on board.

Does this trip include any food and drinks?

Yes, your ticket on the Lazy Day Cruise with Aprodite II includes a roast chicken lunch meal. Drinks are not included, however can be purchased on board from our fully stocked bar.

What should i bring on board?

Items you might need include sun crème, sunglasses, bathing suit, phone/camera, hat, towel, and some cash. Snorkel gear and noodle floats are provided however, you can bring your own. Please remember that anything you decide to bring on board is at your own responsibility.

Can i bring my own food and drinks?

For your safety and enjoyment, we kindly request that no outside food or drinks be brought on board.

Can i cancel my reservation?

If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact us via email at [email protected] . Please note that cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your cruise date will not be refunded. In the event of a no-show, tickets will also not be refunded.

What if the trip gets cancelled?

In the unlikely event of bad weather or force majeure, we reserve the right to cancel the trip. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or an option to reschedule for another date.

Entry & Eviction

We do not allow anyone on board who are obviously under the influence of alcohol or any other substance altering their consciousness. We reserve the right to refuse entry or evict any individual not complying with our health and safety procedures or engaging in any unsociable behaviour.

The cruise departs from Ayia Napa harbour at 10:15 and returns at 15:00. Boarding is from 09:00 – 10:00. We can arrange transfers for you at an extra cost if required. AYIA NAPA – €5 adults & €3 kids. PROTARAS – €8 adults & €5 kids.

The Lazy Day Cruise offers you the chance to relax and see all the bays and beaches of the east coast of Cyprus. Fabulous views from the sea of Ayia Napa & Protaras, taking in the sea Caves of Ayia Napa, Palace caves of Cape Greco, with swimming stops in the Fabulous BLUE LAGOON & KONNOS BAY. You also get super photo opportunities when viewing the famous Lovers bridge, Green Bay, Protaras, & Fig Tree Bay. We then view the ghost town of Famagusta, where we give you a brief history of the events of 1974 which left to the resort being bombed and abandoned. Our Roast lunch which is included is then served in the downstairs lounge and of course, we also have a vegetarian option. With an open sea return and final swim stop, we then return back to Ayia Napa harbour to complete your super relaxing day The Aphrodite 2 is a triple-deck vessel with a passenger carry capacity of 150pax, offering the top sun deck, main deck, interior lounge, tables and bar, with the washrooms in the lower deck.

About Aphrodite Cruise

Named after the Goddess of Beauty in ancient Greek tales, cruises under Aphrodite line possess an irresistible charm and magnificent appearance that could mesmerize even the most picky tourists. Starting to operate in the ending of 2013, the cruise has begun to climb the list of the most luxurious and popular ships in Halong Bay, and become the choice of many travelers when they expect an unforgettable vacations in this world heritage.

Aphrodite Cruise line consist of two ships, which were constructed in medium size with only 17 cabins per boat (equivalent to the capacity of 34 passengers). There are 2 main kinds of cabins on this boat, including Suite and Luxury cabin, but each type is also divided into sub-kinds, with Standard and Balcony for Luxury Cabins, or Standard and Terrace Suite cabin. First apparent feature of all cabins on Aphrodite cruises is elegant design, with warm-colored wood-paneled walls and precise interior which follow ancient Vietnamese theme. Each cabin is equipped with modern amenities on international standards, such as private bathroom, LCD TV, air-conditioner and a minibars, and other essential items which ensure high comfort and satisfaction for every guests staying on board.

Cruise itinerary

Get ready to get on the shuttle bus at around 8 am and prepare yourself for a 4-hour car trip to the Bay. Along the way, guests will be exposed to some of the most typical landscape of the Red River Delta with stretching paddy fields and rolling low hills from a faraway distance.

The bus arrives at Tuan Chau Island pier at noon, around 12:30. Tranfer to the charming Aphrodite Junk. Enjoy the welcome drink once you set foot on the junk and the hospitable crew will then help you check in.

Lunch will be served at the sea-view restaurant on the top floor while the cruise starts drifting into the crystal blue water.

A brief introduction of the main activities during the day will be delivered by a friendly local tour guide while the junk heads to Sung Sot Cave - one of the most well-known caves in the Bay. Spend 1.5  hour exploring the cave.

Get back to Aphrodite Junk for relaxing till dinner time. Do not miss the spectacular sunset stretching away to the distant horizon when you are aboard.

Then comes the top deck sunset happy hour, which is definitely a great chance to make friends with other fellow travelers.

Enjoy the sumptuous dinner with various fresh local specialties in the fine dining room. Private dining option is available on advance request.

When the dark comes, let’s go socializing at our Top Deck Bar or take the time to just chill out in your own room or on the top deck. Squid fishing is also an interesting activity offered on board.

Wake up early to enjoy the gentle sunrise and start the morning with a traditional Taichi class on sundeck instructed by an experienced staff.

Buffet breakfast will be served at the restaurant with tea, coffee, cakes and a number of Vietnamese light dishes.

Then you will have the chance to visit Luon Cave for kayaking, OR visit Titop Island for swimming and hiking.

Brunch will also be served while the cruise is on the way back to the main land.

After arriving at the port, guests will be transferred to the shuttle back to get back to Hanoi. The trip ends at around 4:30 PM.

The shuttle bus picks guests up at hotels (located in the Old Quarter) at around 8 am and heads to Ha Long Bay. The car trip takes approximately 4 hours and guests arrive at Tuan Chau Island pier at around 12:30. Then guests are transferred to a private tender to get to the Aphrodite Junk. Guests can enjoy the welcome drink while our friendly staff processes the check-in. Lunch with various local specialties is served at the sea-view restaurant on the top floor.

Our expert local guide will give out brief introduction of the journey and main activities guests will do during their trip while the cruise heads to Sung Sot Cave - one of the most famous caves of the Bay. After spending about 1 hour on site, guests will get back to Aphrodite Junk for relaxing till dinner while the Junk continues cruising to the anchoring place for overnight stay. The cruise then hosts a sunset happy hour for all guests to have fun at the end of the first day.

Delicious dinner with both Vietnamese and international cuisines is served in set menu, including fresh local seafood. There is a wide range of activities for guests to enjoy after dinner such as squid fishing, watching movies, drinking at bar or just purely relaxing.

Early risers will not only have the chance to admire the magnificent sunrise at the Bay but also to take part in the traditional Taichi class to refresh themselves and get ready for a full activities day. After having buffet breakfast at the cruise’s restaurant, guests will be transferred to a day trip boat.

Lunch on day boat and afterwards come back to the cruise to have lunch while enjoying the endless charm of the Bay. We will be heading to Cua Van fishing village by sampan or kayaking, with crystal water and secluded beaches at the furthest side of Halong Bay. Later in the afternoon come back to the main boat with free time for relaxation.

Take a break after a long day full of activities before having the excellent dinner at the sea-view restaurant. The last night on board can become memorable with many exciting activities offered on board.

Grab the last chance to enjoy the beautiful sunrise at the bay and do not miss the Tai chi class on the sundeck to get energized. Continental breakfast with addition of some Vietnamese light dishes is served at cruise’s restaurant. Our expert tour guide will then accompany guests to visit Titop Beach for hiking.

Return to check out at the Aphrodite Junk as the cruise travels back to the pier. Brunch is served on the way. The shuttle bus will be waiting for guests at the pier to transfer them back to Hanoi. The trip ends at guests’ hotel at around 4:30 PM.

• The cancellation decision is made by Management Board of Halong Bay on the day of the trip in case of bad weather conditions. In such case, we will make alternative travel arrangement for you on request or offer refund in accordance with the cruise policy.

Dear Ms. Laurie, Thank you so much for your contacting us and and I am so sorry as none of our bus could arrive to Hanoi before 14.35PM as it is 4 hours transfer from Halong to Hanoi and the cruise only return to the pier at around noon time 11.30 - 12.00 thus I am afraid we can not arrange this kind of service for you. Aphrodite I Cruises is a family boat created in 2008 by captain Andreas Mallouris who was raised in the area of Cape Greco. Having as father the last lighthouse keeper of the peninsula meant that his knowledge about the area is great. With a combined experience in maritime tourism and the boating industry he has been travelling more than 25 years in the area of Famagusta.

Our boat is designed to allow you to fully explore and experience this impressive and enchanting place while being very close to the hot spots of the Cape Greco area. The captain and staff are highly trained in both safety and first aid for the crew and passengers. It is certified by the relevant authorities for a capacity of up to 100 people and exceeds the highest safety standards and comfort of passengers, with modern high end equipment.

I sailed on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas. These were my 8 favorite amenities on the world's largest cruise ship.

• Royal Caribbean invited me to spend three complimentary nights on its new Icon of the Seas  in January.
• My eight favorite amenities included the waterpark and jazz bar.
• I've yet to see most of the amenities on my list on other cruise ships.

There's a reason Royal Caribbean's new mega-cruise ship is only operating seven-night sailings .

The 1,196-foot-long, 20-deck Icon of the Seas is packed with bars, restaurants, and things to do. Any shorter of an itinerary, and you might not have time to experience all it has to offer.

If you're a frequent cruiser — especially with Royal Caribbean — amenities like the mini-golf course and water playground may not seem exciting.

But of all the activities the new world's largest cruise ship has to offer, my eight favorites are, for the most part, ones I've yet to see on another vessel.

Take a look at what made the cut.

1. The six-slide waterpark

It wouldn't be a roundup of Icon of the Seas' best amenities without a mention of its waterpark.

Plenty of family-friendly cruise ships have waterslides, but few have six — or even one that requires a multi-person raft.

However, if you don't like the feeling of your stomach dropping, I'd advise skipping the 46-foot-tall drop slide.

2. The adult-only suspended infinity pool

The 7,600-guest Icon of the Seas has seven pools and nine hot tubs. As a kid-fearing adult, I loved the grown-ups-only suspended infinity pool.

I spent my time there perched at one of its in-water loungers, contently splashing my legs around the water, wondering if I actually hated cruises.

While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat.

3. The Crown’s Edge thrill 'ride'

There's no need to grab coffee before harnessing up for the part-zipling, part-agility Crown's Edge course. You'll be jolted awake when the floor drops from beneath your feet, leaving you dangling 154 feet above the ocean before the zipline kicks in.

Unfortunately, it comes with two costs: $49 and a spike of anxiety.

4. The 'Wizard of Oz' and 'Aqua Action!' shows

If you hate cruise shows, Icon of the Seas could make you change your mind.

The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals.

For something less traditional, the semi-circle AquaDome theater hosts a compelling multi-disciplinary swim, dive, and aerial show reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil.

It's the first show-at-sea I've seen with a waterfall and nine-foot-tall robotic arms, and so far, it's one of my favorites.

5. The live jazz bar

Ya like jazz? So do I.

Icon of the Seas has plenty of live music venues — including rowdy karaoke and dueling pianos bars, if that counts. But if you're a jazz fan or looking for a peaceful nightcap, none of these options will top the live music at Lou's Jazz 'n Blues.

6. The customizable Mediterranean-style wrap at the five-stall food hall

The mega-ship's food hall wasn't nearly as diverse or exciting as the one on Norwegian Prima .

But compared to the rest of my mediocre meals on Icon of the Seas — including dinner at a specialty restaurant — my complimentary pork pita wrap from the food hall's Mediterranean-inspired stall was admittedly pretty decent.

The Cava -like meal was balanced, succulent, and filling. Ending it with a strawberry nutella crepe from one of the vendors didn't hurt either.

7. The Pearl Café with sweeping ocean views

Everyone takes a picture inside the Pearl . But few people know that the best part about the glittering structure isn't what's inside it — it's what's behind it: the Pearl Café.

Admittedly, the food wasn't standout.

But it's 2024. In this era, we don't dine for food. We dine for vibes . And the Pearl Café was definitely "serving" (even with its mediocre sandwiches).

At first glance, I had snubbed the dining and lounge area as a rip-off of a generic airport coffee shop. But during my three days on Icon, I returned to the centrally located space more often than expected. It turns out it's a great place to get some work done.

8. The lounging pods that tower above passerbys

Speaking of vibes, if you're looking for a secluded place to drink (as in, not the swim-up pool bar), few will top the Overlook Pods, perched just behind the AquaDome.

If you want to feel like you're drinking in a nest atop a tree, bring your coffee-infused cocktail from nearby Rye and Bean to one of the elevated pods. .

Just don't drink too much. What goes up must come down. And to get down from the pods, you'll have to take the stairs.

Hades 2 is still in the early stages of testing, but the game looks good. Like, really good.

On Wednesday, developer Supergiant Games released part of the game as a technical test that gave fans their first look at the sequel to Hades , 2020’s popular action roguelike, since it was announced in 2022. The limited release only covers the first section of the game, but it already gave players an in-depth idea of what to expect — spoilers, it looks very sexy.

Sure, new hero Melinoë’s black magic-inspired gameplay looks great and all, but there’s a lot more to see. Every new and recurring character just looks so dang good . The developers showed off returning characters from Hades , like Aphrodite and Hypnos, who got full-on redesigns, and then revealed new characters, like the blacksmith Hephaestus , who have inspired their fair share of thirst.

If there was any takeaway from that technical test, it’s that the cast will be a huge draw for both new and old fans. Given this, we at Polygon have rounded up every character we’ve seen in the game so far. At this point, we’re basing this list off of who we’ve seen during the technical test, but we’ll update this post as we hear about more characters in the game.

Aphrodite, the goddess of love, returns to Hades 2 . This time around, she’s leveled up her outfit by simply taking it off. I think the look works for her!

Apollo, the god of light, makes an absolutely shiny return. His entire look makes him seem a bit more regal and godlike than in Hades .

Arachne might be an itsy-bitsy spider, but her specialized armor will give Melinoë the support she needs when fighting through baddies.

If you’re in a tight spot and a green arrow suddenly comes to your aid, then you’ve been lucky enough to bump into Artemis. Her beastlike but confident look makes for a perfect design. Her design hasn’t changed a whole lot from the original, but her pelts look a bit more stylish now.

Charon, the shopkeeper, might not be chatty, but he is relatable. I also long to be a faceless being draped in gorgeous fabrics. This is the one design that doesn’t look as good as it did in the first game, but maybe it’ll get replaced as development continues.

Grand-mommy? Demeter is the grandmother of Melinoë and an icon in Greek mythology. This time around, she’s leaning into the warrior look rather than her aged sage visage in the original. Whatever she’s doing to maintain her health, it’s working.

Whenever Melinoë dies, Dora the shade will be there to greet her at home. The cheeky little ghost will be a welcome friend during tough times.

In the statues I’ve seen, artists tend to portray Hecate in a very classical and stereotypically feminine way. That’s why I love this design; it’s dark, commanding, and shows us that she’s a force to be reckoned with. More dark magicians that look like this, please!

Mount Olympus who? Hephaestus might have been kicked out of the realm of the gods, but we can see he’s maintained his godly good looks. Out of all the new characters, he’s specifically drummed up a lot of excitement .

Hestia’s flames burn bright, but we still don’t have a great look at her yet. It’s possible that this character design is a placeholder since it looks similar to Charon’s, and we know that Hestia generally appears as an old woman in Greek myths. Regardless, I’m curious to see how this character shapes up.

Out of all the redesigns we’ve seen so far, I like Hypnos’ the most. In Hades , he had a very implike expression that made him seem a bit quirky. Now we get to seem him cuddled up with gorgeous long locks, and he looks like a straight-up angel.

Melinoë is the princess of the Underworld and our beloved new protagonist. I think the internet collectively gasped when Supergiant Games first revealed her because, like everybody else on this list, she looks amazing and like she can kick serious ass. So far, we’ve seen two designs for her, including one section that shows her as a child.

I do not care if Moros is literally titled “Doom Incarnate”; I would welcome him into my home any day of the week and chase him down relentlessly.

Nemesis is one of the handful of characters you can meet at the base camp. She doesn’t seem thrilled to talk to Melinoë, but maybe she (and therefore you) can win this muscle mommy over in time.

I think my high school English teacher failed to convey just how hot Odysseus could be. Cute, strong, and approachable, he’s a great pal to have around the base camp.

I think Poseidon looked great in Hades , but his art in Hades 2 has a bit more personality to it. He effuses the sort of effortless confidence I’d associate with a shampoo commercial.

Fans are already theorizing that Schelemeus and Skelly from Hades have some sort of secret connection because of their designs and roles in each game. It’s too early to say yet, but I appreciate the quirky drill sergeant vibes this guy brings to Hades 2 .

All hail Selene, the new moon mommy of Hades 2 . She looks great, but she’ll also offer Melinoë an assortment of hexes to aid her fight. This is a standout design from the technical test, and her elegance honestly reminds me of Alucard from the Castlevania anime a bit.

Can I say that daddy’s home? Zeus, the king of the Olympians and father of Mount Olympus, returns to offer his aid in the fight. He looks pretty similar to his first design, except this time he’s got a sick new golden chest plate with abs.
