Social Distortion Summer Tour

Social Distortion with more than 30 years as a band is on an extensive tour of North America where they will perform in Vancouver on July 5 and 6 at the Commodore Ballroom. The punk rock band hasn’t released new material since their last album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes in 2011.

The punk rock band Social Distortion had their start in Fullerton, California in 1978. The group’s unique blend of punk, rockabilly, and blues has influenced many other punk and alternative rock bands.

Mike Ness (vocals/guitar), Mark Mason (bass), and Casey Royer (drums) were the original members of Social Distortion. The band debuted in December of 1978 and gained immediate success among the local punk crowd. The band’s first release was a single in 1981 called “Mainliner/Playpen,” and two years later, in 1983, they issued their self-titled first album.

After several band changes, Mike Ness is the only original member still performing with Social Distortion. Many of the band’s albums have done well, including “Prison Bound” (1988), “Social Distortion” (1990), and “White Light, White Heat, White Trash” (1996). Themes of loss, dependency, and eventual rebirth are common in their music.

Their self-titled 1990 album has “Story of My Life,” one of their most well-known tracks. The song has become a mainstay of Social Distortion’s live gigs because to its memorable guitar riff and sing-along chorus. Some of the band’s other well-known tracks are “Ball and Chain,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Bad Luck.”

Live performances are another area of acclaim for Social Distortion. Mike Ness is well-known for his engaging personality and captivating performances. Over the years, the band has performed on the Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, and Coachella, among many others.

Social Distortion has maintained its punk rock sound despite their widespread popularity. The band has always been outspoken on political and social concerns, and their music typically reflects their blue-collar roots. Social Distortion has maintained the DIY spirit of punk music at a time when many punk bands have grown more commercial and popular.

The punk rock and alternative music scenes owe a great deal to Social Distortion. Their songs, which generally deal with sorrow, addiction, and redemption, blend punk, rockabilly, and blues. Social Distortion has been an inspiration to innumerable bands and artists with their high-energy live performances and dedication to punk rock ideals.

Social Distortion have announced dates for a Summer 2023 North American tour. The legendary punk band will be hitting the road with support from The Bell Rays.

The outing kicks off June 30th in Canby, Oregon, and is scheduled through an August 9th show in Tucson, Arizona. Tickets are available here .

It’s been a dozen years since Social Distortion released their last album, 2011’s Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes , but Social D recently revealed that they finished pre-production on a new album, with plans for a 2024 release.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Social D’s debut album, Mommy’s Little Monster . The band has been going strong since 1979, with frontman Mike Ness as its constant member.

It seems that fans of Melbourne’s Closure In Moscow just can’t get enough. Days after wrapping up their Supreme Turbo Facilitator Tour (selling out all but one of the shows) the popular five piece have announced their Singularity Tour featuring headline dates in all capital cities.

The tour marks the beginning of what plans to be a super massive travel cycle for Closure In Moscow as they head across to the U.S on the Warped Tour playing all 44 shows.
