Captain Matt worked incredibly hard to put us on the fish and even harder to make sure we all had a fun time. When one spot wasn’t working out how he liked we would pack up and move to the next spot till we found a hot bite. Yes but no glass! We have a separate cooler just for your personal drinks and snacks.

What Forms Of Payment Do You Take and When Is Payment Due?

A reservation fee of $200 is due at the time of reservation to reserve your private charter.  You may pay with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover.  The balance due will be charged to your card on the day of your trip.

What Happens If It Is Raining? Will We Still Go Fishing?

If it rains, charters will still go out fishing. However, if there is excessive fog, wind, or lightning, the trip will not go. As always, it is at the discretion of the captain if your charter is canceled. If canceled you will be refunded your reservation fee or Destin Inshore Fishing Company will reschedule your charter if possible.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

Customer must cancel at least 72 hours prior to their arrival date to receive a full refund of their reservation fee.

What Fish Are In Season Right Now?

Depends on the time of year but red snapper is our most caught fish throughout the entire year. Go here to see a full fishing report (month to month) on which fish you can catch during your trip.

What Can I Bring On The Boat During My Fishing Trip?

Hats, sunscreen(no spray cans please), camera, towel, windbreaker, coat, small soft cooler and just in case if you forget anything our marina has everything in stock for you to get when you arrive. Typically most people bring to much :).

What Do We Do With The Fish That We Catch?

Our captains will clean and dress the fish for you after each trip.  You can take the fish home with you or to the nearest restaurant (Bryans Boardwalk Grill, Brotulas, or any restaurant on the harbor).

How Far Will We Go Out? Will We See Land?

What Time Does The Fishing Trip Start?

Your boat departs on time so be sure you try to arrive at least 10 minutes before your charter time.  Keep in mind of the traffic around Destin can get busy so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park and walk down to the boat docks on time.

Is There A Bathroom On The Boat?

Yes, on all five boats. A bathroom is onboard the Done Deal , Cape Horn 31T , Slay Ride , Slay Ride 2 and the Blue Seas fishing charters.

Do I Have to Purchase a Fishing License?

No. Fishing licenses are provided with your fishing charter trip.

We have a few different options for fishing charters and the number of people on the boat depends which one you choose.

Party Boat Fishing

Shared Fishing Charter

Shared fishing charters will have between 8-25 passengers on the boat. This is the perfect fishing trip at a great value if you want an option in-between the party boat with 65 people and the private charter.  

Private Fishing Charter

Private charters are available on several of our fishing boats to accommodate any size group large or small.

What is the Cost of Deep Sea Fishing?

All fishing trips include your fishing license, rod and reel, bait, and cleaning and bagging your fish afterwards.

What Should I Bring on my Fishing Trip?

We suggest bringing a 6-pack cooler with food, drinks (including plenty of water), a hand towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Alcoholic beverages are allowed but please no glass. First timers may want to take some non-drowsy motion sickness medication. 

Bananas are considered bad luck on a fishing boat so please leave those at home!

What if the Weather is Bad?

The captain reviews the weather and surf conditions daily leading up to your fishing trip. If he determines that the weather is unsafe or too rough/unpleasant for fishing then he will cancel the trip. In this situation you will be offered a chance to reschedule or a full refund will be provided if your travel plans don’t allow it.

We recommend planning your fishing trip early in your vacation so there is time to reschedule in the unlikely event of weather cancellations. 

How much should I tip my Crew?

An additional way to thank your crew is by writing a review of your experience and mentioning the names of anyone who made your trip especially enjoyable. There is a QR code onboard to leave a Google review or you can leave reviews on our Facebook page and Trip Advisor as well as Fishing Booker or Tripshock if you booked through them. 

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We have a 72 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made more than 72 hours prior to departure will be refunded minus a 8% processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made within 72 hours of departure for any reason, including missing the boat or no-shows. Be sure to allow plenty of extra time for traffic delays and parking.

This trip is designed to do some long-range bottom fishing and offshore trolling. If you would like to customize your trip to specifically target a certain species such as swordfish or deep dropping instead of regular bottom fishing and trolling, we can arrange this as well. Trip departure time will vary depending on what species you would like to target.

36 or 48 Hour – Multi-Day

They call this the sportsman’s “dream trip”. Whatever your request might be, Swordfish, Marlins, or Tuna, these multiday trips will give Captain Chris enough range to stretch his legs and make your request come to life. We can do a mix of a variety types of fishing and target a wide range of species. Types of fishing can include trolling, bottom fishing, deep dropping and Sword fishing. We will often fish around the oil rigs on these trips 100+ miles offshore. Fishing is a complete bonus out here. Departure times will vary depending on what types of fishing and species you request to target.

What’s included? What should you bring?

We will provide all licenses, tackle, bait, ice, fuel, and fish cleaning. Exclusions not provided are food/drink, personal items, and gratuity for the crew. 20% gratuity is customary and greatly appreciated.

We recommend you bring any food and drinks you would like while on board for the duration of the trip. Please bring a cooler with all of your food and drinks inside. We have a grill, flat top skillet, and microwave on board that you are welcome to use to prepare any meals. Suggestions for food are listed below. For personal items we recommend bringing a towel, change of clothes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen etc.

Food Suggestions: Pre-made sub sandwiches, breakfast burritos, wraps, precut fruit/veggies, slim jims, beef jerky, cheese sticks, variety packs of chips/crackers/cookies etc. For the grill or flat top skillet, hot dogs, sausages, steaks, hamburgers, kabobs.

Drink Suggestions: WATER!!! Vitamin water, Gatorade, Powerade, etc. Cokes, beer, liquor… (we just ask you don’t bring any glass bottles if possible).
