The 41-year-old Mandopop singer first hinted of a world tour in May with a teaser image captioned with the hashtag #roadtojj20 across his social media accounts.

He had revealed some of locations for the upcoming tour two weeks ago — Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, North America, Europe, and Australia.

Concert promoter UnUsUaL Entertainment on Tuesday said that after his concert in Singapore, Lin will perform at the Taipei Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium on 3 December and at Kuala Lumpur's Bukit Jalil Stadium on 18 December.

Fans in North America, Europe and Australia will have to wait till 2023 for Lin's tour.

"I didn't expect that in a blink of an eye, I was already preparing for my 20th anniversary tour concert!" said the singer in a press release by the concert promoter.

"I feel that this journey has been a dream come true for me so far, so I hope to also make this concert a dream journey for the fans! Get ready and be dazzled on November 4 and 5," he added.

Tickets to JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour are priced from $148 to $348, excluding the booking fee of $4. They will be available for sale from 29 July from 6.00pm and can be booked online at ticketmaster.sg, and at all SingPost outlets.

JJ Lin announces world tour concert dates, starting from Singapore in November

Mandopop star JJ Lin’s fans can now look forward to the end of the year with more excitement – the Singaporean singer has announced the first dates for his JJ20 world tour. 

Presumably celebrating the 20 years since his debut as an artiste back in 2003, the 41-year-old shared the dates and venues in an Instagram post on Monday (Jul 25) evening. 

The tour will start with two concerts at Singapore’s National Stadium on Nov 4 and 5. Following that, he’ll perform at Taoyuan City, Taiwan on Dec 3 and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Dec 18. 

Lin also teased further concerts in the post, saying: “Look out, North America, Europe and Australia, I’ll be coming soon in 2023!” 

Tickets to the concerts will be available from Jul 29 on TicketMaster , with prices starting from S$148.

When Lin posted a teaser to the world tour on social media on May 3 without any details on concert dates and venues, he received enthusiastic responses from fans. Many of them left comments asking the singer to stop by places ranging from New York, Toronto, Paris and, of course, Singapore.

His last onstage appearance was with Gentle Bones for the latter’s charity concert that was held at the Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands on Jul 22, where he was part of the audience. 

The duo had collaborated on the English-language single At Least I Had You, which was released last November. 

Lin’s last in-person concert in Singapore, on the other hand, was also that same month, when he performed to a 2,000-strong live audience for After The Rain: A Live Charity Special over two nights on Nov 27 and 28.

Singaporean Mandopop singer-songwriter  JJ Lin has announced several key details for his upcoming concerts in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan as part of his ‘JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour’.

Per an Instagram announcement, Lin will kick off his world tour in Singapore’s National Stadium for a two-night stint on November 4 and 5. He then heads to Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium in Taoyuan City, Taiwan on December 3 before holding a concert in Malaysia’s Bukit Jalil Nation Stadium on December 18.

Lin also said in his Instagram post announcing the dates that his North America, Europe and Australia concerts will be announced soon, with the tour dates to be set sometime in 2023.

Ticketing details for the newly announced ‘JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour’ concerts have yet to be released.

Lin  first teased the upcoming tour in May , later confirming that the tour will include stops in Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, North America, Europe and Australia .

The world tour is slated to be a celebration of Lin’s 20-year career thus far, and will include some of the Mandopop star’s most popular hits. Lin is tipped to bring out favourites spanning his discography, from his 2003 debut album ‘Music Voyager’ to his most recent album, ‘Drifter / Like You Do’.

Lin last toured the world during his  ‘Sanctuary World Tour’ , which started in 2018. In November last year, he performed  a two-day concert at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands for charity, with proceeds being donated to The Community Chest of Singapore.

Lin had also released the single ‘After The Rain’ for the benefit concert, which was titled the same. In a press statement, he shared that he hoped to “share a message of positivity” through the concert, noting that “Covid-19 has had a significant impact on many people, both physically and mentally.”

Last year, Lin also collaborated with fellow Singaporean singer-songwriter Gentle Bones  on the single  ‘At Least I Had You’ . The duo were announced as  Singapore’s top-streamed local artists  on Spotify in 2021 just after the release of ‘At Least I Had You’, with Lin taking the top spot while Gentle Bones ranked second.

JJ Lin to hold his first world tour in three years

SINGAPORE - Home-grown singer JJ Lin has whetted fans' appetite after he shared a poster of his upcoming concert tour on social media on Tuesday (July 12).

The 41-year-old wrote: "It's official. We have a world tour to announce. Here's a first look at the JJ Lin World Tour concert poster."

He referred to the likely stops on his tour when he wrote: "Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, North America, Europe and Australia... Are you ready?"

He added that more details will be released soon.

Some of Lin's fans in mainland China reacted to the news with both happiness and sadness, as they noted that China was not mentioned. This was possibly due to the country's strict Covid-19 restrictions.

Lin dropped hints of his tour in May when he posted on social media a poster with the words "JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour 2022 coming soon", without further elaboration.

He made his debut in 2003 with the studio album Music Voyager and has since launched 14 albums, with his latest album Drifter • Like You Do, released in October 2020.

His last major in-person gighere was the Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour show at Singapore's National Stadium in December 2019.

He held the Sanctuary Finale Virtual Concert in July 2021 and two After The Rain charity live specials at Marina Bay Sands in November 2021.

Role Model ‘No Place Like Tour’ world tour 2024-2025 will run between November 10, 2024, and April 7, 2025, in venues across the UK and Europe in 2024 and Australia, New Zealand, and North America in 2025, respectively. America’s Cup nationwide tour: Hawke’s Bay schoolkids and young sailors get a glimpse of coveted silverware

As excitement continues to build for the 37th America’s Cup , a cohort of lucky Hawke’s Bay students and budding sailors got a glimpse of some very special silverware before it heads off to be claimed by the Kiwis again ... hopefully.

The coveted Auld Mug made a quick pit stop in Hawke’s Bay this week for its 4500km journey around the country as part of the Toyota Kiwi Cup Tour.

Touted as the oldest international sporting trophy in the world, the grand silver icon will travel to 40 destinations before joining racers at the event currently being held off the Catalonian coast.

Port Ahuriri School in Napier was the first to welcome the cup on Wednesday with a waiata and haka before students learned of its illustrious history and the special significance it holds for New Zealand.

Sarah Wiblin, general manager of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, said the America’s Cup was a symbol of sailing success and Kiwi success.

“It clearly demonstrates how our Island nation at the bottom of the world has the ability to take on the biggest opponents across the globe and win,” she said.

“Emirates Team New Zealand is proof little can beat big. We thought that’s a story worth sharing.”

Students took photos with the 1.1-metre-tall cup and wrote messages of support on a sail that will be transported to Barcelona ahead of the Kiwis’ America’s Cup defence.

There was also a post box made out of the top of an AC75 mast for messages to be posted for the team.

After a stop at Hawke’s Bay Toyota, the cup also made its way to the Napier Sailing Club, where some of the young sailors who will represent Napier at the Toyota Kiwi Cup Regatta were able to see it.

A volunteer driving the cup on its journey said the squadron was impressed to meet older fans who still had their yellow support jerseys from 1995.

They also met one gentleman who had collected all NZ Post-issued stamps related to the America’s Cup.

“Their passion and support is great.”

There’s hope the NZ team can continue to gain momentum as their overseas campaign progresses.

The Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series is currently taking place. A lightning strike during Team New Zealand’s race against Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli brought an early end to proceedings on day five with the Kiwis taking their first loss of the round-robins.

The Auld Mug will continue to travel across New Zealand in the coming weeks, with dates and locations available at kiwi cup.co.nz/tour.

Scheffler will be the main man for Team USA on the back of one of the most dominant seasons in history, racking up eight wins, including Olympic gold, after sealing a four-shot win in the season-ending event in Atlanta.

The victory took Scheffler’s earnings close to $80m in 2024 alone and, close to $140m all-time, which puts him second all-time on the money list behind only Woods despite

only joining the PGA Tour in 2020.

Scheffler’s year was the greatest since Woods won eight times in 2006, including six in a row and two majors.

Having been witness to the stunning emergence of the 28-year-old Texan, Scott, who played with Woods in his prime, said it was hard not to put him in the same category given the gap Scheffler has seemingly created from his peers.

“I think that’s fair. I think all the stats back that up. I think that the results back it up,” Scott said.

“It’s been pretty incredible, from really starting at Bay Hill, I guess. I think it is on par with those great years of Tiger’s.

“I think it’s very hard today for anyone to separate themselves as much as Scottie has. I don’t think we’ve seen that in a long time. I think it’s harder to do it today.”

While he couldn’t catch Scheffler in Atlanta, Scott thrived in the final events of the season, finishing second at the BMW Championship and then fourth at the Tour Championship.

He’s jumped from 64th in the world just five events ago and into the top 20, having finished second at the Scottish Open and 10th at the British Open.

Scott said he did a “bunch of stuff” to try to get back on the winner’s list, even changing to the ball Scheffler uses.

“I’m observing all the time everything he does. I switched to his golf ball this year. I did a bunch of stuff just to see what’s going on,” he said.

Scott did enough to lock in a Presidents Cup berth and was bullish about what he, and the International team, could now do at Royal Montreal.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

“It’s interesting, I was kind of struggling on the points list for most of the year, and then the last couple months really solidified my position on the team, and all of a sudden I feel like I’m a good player again and I’m looking forward to going up there and winning some points.

“I really like the way this team is going to be shaping up here when it’s announced in a couple days.

“I think our team is deeper than we’ve seen for a while, I mean, as far as world ranking goes. Not that that’s the be all and end all, but it’s something. Usually, our bottom players drift out a little in the world ranking, and it’s a lot tighter this year.

“I feel like we’re putting together a formidable side.”
