• In the 1700s, it was the main port for goods and by the 1800s the world’s leading exporter of cotton.
• River Street’s famous cobblestones are from around the world, including Madeira Island, Spain, Canada, France and the British Isles. Originally used as ship ballast stones, they became affordable building material.
• River Street is considered one of the most haunted places in Savannah. With a dark history of slavery and burial grounds, many people claim the souls live on.
• Remnants of Savannah’s dark past can still be discovered on River Street, with many structures that held enslaved people still standing today.
• Savannah hosted the Olympic yachting events for the Atlanta games in 1996. The famous cauldron is still there today and was once lit by the original flame from Olympia, Greece!
• In 1977, $7 million was spent renovating the old warehouses to make the riverfront we can today enjoy.

After booking confirmation, we will send you a text message with detailed instructions for your chosen pickup location.

Tickets are non-refundable unless your tour is cancelled by Hilton Head Dolphin Tours, but you may reschedule your tour with at least 24 HOURS notice prior to the scheduled departure time. You may also request a voucher to use at a later date if cancellation is made prior to 24 hours of your departure time. We will NOT honor rescheduling or vouchers within 24 hours of your departure time.

Cancellation due to weather is at our Captain’s discretion only! 

We will contact you on the phone number provided on the day of your tour if there are any weather concerns/cancellations. The Captain keeps a diligent eye on the weather and will inform you in ample time to get you rescheduled. Weather cancellations are 100% refundable if rescheduling is not possible. Isolated/pop-up thunderstorms are a way of life here in the summer months and they may delay us for a few minutes or miss us entirely, so please show up unless you hear from us.

The Spirit makes 23 knots providing a fast, stable ride without the worries of driving and parking in Savannah’s historic district.

We would like to go over a few tips to help your arrival to Harbour Town Yacht Basin go as smooth as possible.

The Vagabond Cruise fleet is located within the Sea Pines Resort, which is a resort community located on the south side of Hilton Head Island. There is a $9.00 (cash only) entry fee per vehicle that is required to guests entering the resort for a daily pass.

Parking is very limited in Harbour Town. As you enter Harbour Town you will find two large parking lots on your left side of Lighthouse Rd. broken up by a playground. You will also notice while entering Harbour Town a large overflow gravel parking lot on your right side. These are your best options for parking when you arrive.

BOARDING - We begin boarding 30-minutes prior to departure time. If your tickets have been purchased online and you are fully paid, you may go directly to your cruise vessel ( Spirit of Harbour Town ) on the pier for boarding if you have a mobile or printed version of your boarding pass pulled up.

-CHECK-IN - You only need to check-in at our reservation office before boarding if you need to turn in vouchers to us or if you are not paid in full yet. Also feel free to stop in and ask our Passenger Service Crew any questions you have prior to boarding, we would be happy to assist.

Cancellations & Refunds

Reservation changes, cancellations & refunds.

Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 2 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.

All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.

The Spirit of Harbour Town is one-of-a-kind and Hilton Head Island’s only heated & air-conditioned luxury yacht. The lower cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 74 passengers, and its open-air upper level can comfortably seat 44 passengers. The Spirit of Harbour Town is licensed and Coast Guard approved to carry 148 passengers.

The Spirit is best known for its award winning Sunset Dinner Cruise , Hilton Head’s only on-board dinner cruise. It features a full crew, waitstaff, full bar, galley, restrooms, and fabulous views of Lowcountry. The dinner, prepared by a contracted private chef, consists of three courses, from seafood to traditional southern country cooking, multiple meat options for the entree and a fully stocked bar.

During the summer The Spirit also offers sunset cruises to Hilton Head’s popular Tuesday night fireworks display at Shelter Cove Harbour .  See dolphins and other wildlife while you gaze upon Hilton Head’s scenic shoreline.

The Spirit also schedules a cruise to the historic and beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia . The cruise is narrated with facts of the sights you will see.  Upon arrival, you will have over four hours for sightseeing or to shop, take a  tour, and find a restaurant for lunch.
