Tourism in murcia, terra natura murcia, a zoo without bars, in the city, terra natura murcia is a leisure park that has a zoo with animals from the african savannah and the iberian peninsula, and an aquatic park aqua natura suitable for all ages., a new generation park zoo.

Terra Natura is a new generation animal park where its main feature is the so-called "zoo immersion". It is a new concept of zoo in which you can observe and make contact with animals in spaces designed to recreate the habitat of each species through barriers invisible to humans.

Terra Natura introduces you to the African Savannah and has more than 300 animals of 50 species.

Lions and giraffes, rhinoceroses... and even the friendly otters. More than 300 animals of 50 different species

During the tour, visitors will be able to see faithful and impressive recreations of habitats of different species such as: the imposing lions, the friendly suricates, the white rhinocero or the giraffes, and the Iberian Peninsula, such as: the Iberian wolf, the fun and friendly otters or the grizzly bear.

The park also proposes different educational offerings and outdoor activities, designed to enjoy nature as a family and have fun with the little ones.

Aqua Natura. Murcia doesn't have a beach, but it does have an ocean

In the summer months it also has a water park, Aqua Natura, which complements the visit to the animal park with fun attractions and water-related activities. The "Fun Cube", the "Slow River", the "Splash Park" and the Pool for children under 3 years ensure fun for all ages.

The park reinforces its recreational offering with catering services and the possibility of a night safari.

Terra Natura es un zoológico de la ciudad de Murcia que acoge hasta 500 animales de 40 especies . El parque, que forma parte de un complejo de ocio mucho más grande (con un parque acuático, restaurantes y otros servicios), cuenta con 165.000 metros cuadrados perfectamente acondicionados para que la experiencia sea lo más satisfactoria posible.

Hipopótamos, leones, lémures, osos pardos, linces europeos, lobos ibéricos, jirafas y muchas otras especies se reparten en los dos ambientes principales en los que se organiza el parque. Por lo que podemos disfrutar, de este modo, de la fauna más exótica mientras conocemos a fondo las especies españolas.

Su oferta educativa, las actividades de aventura, los diversos espectáculos y su cuidada arquitectura completan el atractivo de Terra Natura para convertirlo en un destino ineludible de la ciudad de Murcia. 

Divididos según su procedencia y necesidades, los animales de Terra Natura Murcia reciben cuidados especiales y una alimentación específica. Un grupo de expertos se encarga del bienestar de las diferentes especies del zoológico y enseñan a los visitantes las actividades que se realizan en el parque cada día.

Los animales de Terra Natura se organizan en áreas como la Sabana Africana o la Península Ibérica. También conviven en el recinto especies marinas y aves rapaces, que participan en actividades interactivas con los visitantes del parque.

Sabana Africana

Podemos encontrar, entre las diversas especies, hiena manchada, damalisco, cebra, león africano, eland, hipopótamo, tortuga leopardo, ornix cimitarra, leopardo, lémur, suricato, rinoceronte, cercopiteco, y un largo etcétera de animales exóticos.

Península Ibérica

A pesar de que no las conozcas o no haberlas visto en primera persona nunca, la fauna española tiene especies increíbles. Esta zona contiene lobos ibéricos, gamos, ciervos, jabalíes, nutrias, linces, osos y jinetas, entre otros muchos.

Aves Rapaces

Especialmente llamativa es la actividad de vuelo que realizan las águilas junto a otras aves rapaces del zoológico. Los monitores y especialistas te explicarán las características más impresionantes de estos animales.

Aves Exóticas

Pásate por el espectáculo de aves exóticas y queda fascinado con ellas. ¡No te arrepentirás!

Terra Natura Murcia, además del zoológico, contiene en sus instalaciones el Poni Club , donde se celebran eventos especiales durante todo el año ¡e incluso competiciones! Además de esto, realizan actividades en fechas puntuales como el día del libro, San Patricio y ofrecen la posibilidad de celebrar fiestas de cumpleaños.

Además, la actividad de Safari Nocturno   en Halloween te ofrece la posibilidad de acceder al parque cuando ya ha cerrado sus puertas al público. Reserva con antelación y no te pierdas esta oportunidad tan especial para conocer este lado de Terra Natura.

En la temporada de verano, organizan escuelas y campamentos para los más pequeños de la familia. Para los días más calurosos, el recinto cuenta con un parque acuático: Aqua Natura. ¡No te lo puedes perder!

El parque abre todos los días del año excepto el 25 de diciembre y el 1 de enero en el siguiente horario: 

• Abierto desde las 11:00 horas del 23 de junio al 8 de septiembre de 2023.
• Abierto desde las 10:00 horas el resto del año.

El parque Terra Natura está ubicado en Murcia, concretamente en la Calle Regidor Cayetano Gago de Espinardo. El acceso puede realizarse en vehículo propio y en transporte público . En función de la autovía desde la que vengas, tendrás que tomar una salida u otra; desde la A-7, será la 136 dirección Universidad de Murcia y desde la A-30, dirección Murcia Centro.

Las instalaciones del parque cuentan con numerosos servicios para que no te falte nada durante la visita. Habilitado rigurosamente con acceso para personas con algún tipo de discapacidad y con servicio médico cualificado para casos de emergencias o accidentes. Además, si viajas con niños, dispone de alquiler de carritos para que los más pequeños puedan disfrutar también de la visita.

También cuenta con servicio de restauración y diversos menús que podrás comprar incluso junto a la entrada. Si prefieres llevar tu comida de casa, también existe una zona de picnic habilitada. Terra Natura dispone de cajeros automáticos dentro del recinto y oficina de objetos perdidos.

El parque Terra Natura está perfectamente comunicado y puedes llegar a él tanto en coche como en transporte público. En coche , dependiendo de la autovía desde la que vengas, tendrás que tomar una salida u otra. Desde la A-7 , será la 136 dirección Universidad de Murcia y desde la A-30 , dirección Murcia Centro. También existen numerosas líneas de autobús que circulan regularmente, como son la L31, la 39A o la 39C . En tranvía podrás coger la línea 1 que llega hasta las instalaciones de Terra Natura Murcia.

El zoológico acoge hasta 500 animales pertenecientes a 400 especies diferentes . Centrándose en actividades que hasta el momento no se ofrecían en la comunidad, el parque ha presentado talleres, animaciones y jornadas que encajarán a la perfección con el espacio de Terra Natura.

La temporada ya comenzó el pasado 15 de junio con “la noche de las velas”, pero esto no ha hecho más que empezar. Os lo contamos todo.

ACTIVIDADES TERRA NATURA 2018

Escuela de verano: Va a ser una de las grandes apuestas del parque para este verano. Durará desde el 25 de junio y hasta el 5 de septiembre , acogiendo a los peques para que puedan tener un verano diferente. Una combinación única de zoológico, parque acuático y actividades diurnas para que los niños socialicen y aprendan. Robótica animal, musicoterapia, zumba, inteligencia emocional, yoga, defensa personal...

Noche de las mil velas: Cinco mil velas decoraron el parque durante la noche del pasado 15 de junio, para ambientar una noche única: cuatro grupos de música, talleres de farolillos, pintacaras y uno ludoteca para los más peques hasta la 1:30 de la mañana.

Colas de sirena: ¿Quierez sentirte una auténtica sirena por un día? Este año, en Terra Natura, podrás. Niños y mayores podrán vestirse con una cola de sirena, maquillarse, y hacerse un foto para recordarlo siempre. ¡Incluso podrás nadar con ella! En junio, julio y agosto de miércoles a domingo a las 16:00 horas de la tarde.

Dormir con lobos: ¡Acampemos en el parque! Con esta actividad, los niños de 6 a 14 años podrán dormir en el parque rodeados de animales. Es una actividad que sin duda les encantará: incluye safari nocturno, talleres, baile, juegos, tiendas de campaña, desayuno y un baño en el parque acuático. Siempre con monitores y socorristas que garanticen su seguridad. La agenda es: 29 junio, 13 julio, 27 julio, 17 agosto y 31 agosto (de las 20:00 horas del viernes a las 12:30 del sábado).

Safaris nocturnos: El parque también pone a disponibilidad de todos la posibilidad de hacer safaris nocturnos. Descubre los naimales por la noche, sus costumbres, en un ambiente mágico y diferente al habitual. Con show de aves rapaces y la opción de elegir guía y cena. Empiezan a partir de las 20:00 horas.

Animaciones: También hay novedades en las visitas diarias, ya que se podrán ver animaciones alrededor del mundo acuático. Serán sobre la vida pirata, la vuelta almundo, la vida hawaiana y el mundo de los exploradores.

¡Nueva atracción!: en el parque acuático, se ha construido una nueva zona de agua para los más pequeños: un splash park con chorros de agua.

Terra Natura celebra el nacimiento de un Marabú

Un nacimiento siempre es una buena noticia. Pero lo es todavía más si la criatura procede de una especie altamente protegida, como sucede con el Marabú recién nacido esta semana en Terra Natura de Murcia. Hasta ahora sólo se han producido tres nacimientos de este animal en todo el continente ...

Un nacimiento siempre es una buena noticia. Pero lo es todavía más si la criatura procede de una especie altamente protegida, como sucede con el Marabú recién nacido esta semana en Terra Natura de Murcia. Hasta ahora sólo se han producido tres nacimientos de este animal en todo el continente europeo, lo que convierte este momento en todo un hito.

Estas aves, familia de las ciegüeñas, proceden de África y pueden llegar a alcanzar los dos metros de envergadura y hasta nueve kilos de peso. Sólo se reproducen si encuentran una pareja estable , con la que permanecen el resto de su vida. Además, necesitan encontrarse en un hábitat cómodo donde se hallen completamente asentados. De este modo, Terra Natura ha conseguido aunar todas las condiciones necesarias para que llegase hasta nosotros este pequeño Marabú.

La cría todavía tendrá que esperar tres meses para empezar a volar, así que por el momento don sus progenitores los encargados de hacerle llegar alimento y cuidados hasta el aviario.

Safari nocturno en Terra Natura (Murcia)

El Safari nocturno , o  Night Safari , de Terra Natura  Murcia es una oportunidad diferente para conocer y observar las zonas y lugares recónditos del zoológico a la luz de la luna. Un equipo de cuidadores de animales nos guiarán, se aprenderán curiosidades  sobre el comportamiento de las especies de la Península Ibérica y de África,  por la noche.

Esta actividad tendrá lugar los días viernes y sábados a las 20 horas. La duración es de 75 min. aprox. y el recorrido se realiza andando. Es recomendable llevar linternas.

  Precio 9€ por persona (Adultos y Niños)

It's a fascinating zone of animals that use poisons to catch prey or camouflage to avoid predators eating them. This Mediterranean climate zone of Terra Natura Zoo is ideal for allowing native animals to roam freely. Fallow deer and mountain sheep cross paths with you in this close proximity zone. Educational Interaction

• Timings: From 2.30 PM on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.

Take an active part in an educational interaction with some of the world's most beautiful and unusual animals and birds like macaws, meerkats, rainbow loris, trumpeter horn, American kestrel, and many more. It is presented by zookeepers who take care of various birds and animals. Small gatherings of visitors are suggested in these interactions.

Discovery Elephant

• Timings: From 2.15 PM on Friday & Sunday.
• Duration: 30 minutes.

The zookeepers will take you on a tour of the elephant shelter and stables. This interaction allows you to learn about the everyday schedule and work methods of people who work with Asian Elephants. Adults and children accompanying adults will have a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Discovery Rhinos

• Timings:  From 2:45 PM on Saturdays.

Visit the safe zone where one of Terra Natura's most endangered species is protected. You'll discover rhino monitoring techniques and daily routines.

Fairy & Elves School

• Timings: From 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
• Duration: 45 minutes.

At the Fairies and Elves in the Terra Natura Zoo,  youngsters transform into these fantastic characters who protect our animals. They put on make-up and dress up as magical pixies or a friendly sprite. They can also participate in the thematic workshop. Parents should take advantage of the optional photography options for their children.

Night Safari

• Timings: From 10:00 PM to 11:30 PM till 2022-season end.
• Duration: 90 minutes.

Often these wild animals sleep throughout the day, resting in the sun until dusk when they become more energetic. You can go on a nighttime safari at Terra Natura Zoo in Spain and experience moments of silence and wonder in the wild with our nighttime creatures. Adults, as well as children, are welcome. A guided nighttime walking tour is available.

Burrito Experience

• Timings: In July & August from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, Monday, Tuesdays, & holidays.
• Duration: 10 minutes.

Donkeys at Terra Natura Zoo are brushed and taken care of in this section of the zoo.  Children are taught about these intelligent and inquisitive creatures. This section of the zoo is open to children aged 3 to 12. For the time being, it has been postponed.

Conservation Efforts At The Zoo

The goal is to keep population stability and expand the genetic pool in order to save the species and allow reintroductions in natural areas where the animals have vanished or are on the verge of extinction. Terra Natura Spain actively participates in the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums' (EAZA) extinction-threatened species conservation programs, which are implemented through various EEPs (European Endangered Species Programmes). Each animal has an EEP icon next to it, indicating that it is part of these important endangered and threatened species conservation programs.

Animals In Danger Of Extinction

Terra Natura Zoo in Spain has made assisting in the conservation of endangered animal species a top priority. Deforestation has put many species on the verge of extinction.

Among the animals threatened with extinction but protected by the zoo are the leopard, jaguar, Sumatran tiger, Asian lion, Asiatic elephant, Indian rhinoceros, Indian Gaur bison, Indian Barasingha deer, and Asiatic wild dog.

The elephant is the world's largest land mammal, and its most distinguishing feature is its long trunk. Terra Natura Zoo is protected by a consistent diet and a pleasant, comfortable environment.

The jaguar is a fascinating nocturnal predator of the Meso-American Mayan world, with two distinct color patterns. They are safe in this zoo because they are cared for 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a specialized team of caregivers, biologists, and veterinarians.

In addition to rhinos, other animal species that share the same ecological niche as rhinos must be protected. Terra Natura Spain supports the conservation of the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and the Kaziranga National Park in eastern India, where Indian rhinos raise their young. It operates In collaboration with IRV 2020.

In order to ensure tigers' survival, we must eliminate threats such as habitat loss, diseases, a lack of prey, poaching, and competition with humans in the area. The sustainable and responsible management of raw materials such as wood and palm oil is critical in the fight for survival. Terra Natura Zoo avoids consuming palm oil-protected wood, medications, or jewelry made from endangered-animal parts to ensure the long lives and births of tigers.

Well Being Of Animals At The Terra Natura Zoo

Terra Natura Zoo's philosophy is to prioritize animals’ physical and emotional well-being, both individually and as a species, by better understanding their natural habitat, care, needs, and threats.

Environmental enrichment improves natural behaviors while reducing stereotypes through a dynamic process. By bringing together several different species in the same meadow for their enjoyment and relaxation, the zoo aims to provide the best and most suitable environment for its animals. 

The zoo has a well-equipped clinic for disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention when it comes to veterinary care. The clinic has areas for hospitalization, neonatal care, and a quarantine facility for newly arrived animals. 

The animal kitchen team at the zoo is in charge of providing various nutritions to the animals. Before the caregivers begin their daily routine, they get up early to prepare and distribute meals throughout the park.
