“Great Customer Service”

Ella Dunn, Employee #643199, greeted me with such enthusiasm it made my day, that was nice. There is an UGG hoodie sweater that I LOVE! Hanging on the wall! I don't think you understand, I have the same hoodie that I purchased prior to falling ill with COVID-19, several years ago & unable to work. An UGG hoodie was not a priorty BUT did I mention I LOVE the UGG hoodie sweater. Currently, there are only certain type of material that does not hurt my skin. I can be in this hoodie 24/7.LOL Prior to me having to think if I could/should purchase this expensive wonderful hoodie because it's SO EXPENSIVE but worth it, LIKE $100 EXPENSIVE but it's on sale! But It's not my size, it's too small Ella went to her computer to see if she could order it online. No luck! She could have left it there. Instead, Ella went above and beyond by looking to see which other stores had that hoodie in my size. Ella found my size, Ella reached out to the store and asked if it would be possible to have that item transferred to her store for a customer to purchase. They said YES! 😊 I am SOOOOOOO HAPPY! THANK YOU ELLA!

“Terrible customer service!”

I ordered online 2 pair of shoes and made payments through Klarna! Because the shoes was delivered but not to the correct home, they didn't want reimburse me my money or resend the shoes! Do not trust Journeys! Go personally to the store and buy the product! Don't do online purchases! The house they delivered was green and my house is blue! I paid them so it's not about the money! But I guess Journeys needs it more than me!

Horrible experience with this Journeys.com -- I am beyond annoyed and frustrated. I feel taken advantage of during the holidays. I'm out $300+ and no merchandise. They have just lost a 10+ year longstanding customer and they could care less. Basically, my order arrived with box ripped open, retaped 3 missing items -- went to store next day in hopes they could help but was redirected to online. Called customer service online and was told that I have to wait 12 days for a fedex investigation to be done - the rep hung up on me when she was "commenting the account" - I called back extremely upset and she happened to answer the phone again - I was very unpleasant at this point - On the phone for 2 hours complaining to no avail. Basically, I have to wait 12 days to find out their investigation results! THIS IS RIDICULOUS -- Why wouldn't they call fedex with me on the phone? There is no picture of the delivery, there is no signature! Why would they send a package that is over $300 with no signature? I am beyond frustrated. Suddenly their error is my fault. I am the customer. It's not my fault that the package arrived with missing items. I called back because my husband thought this was unacceptable I asked for supervisor 2 twice and was hung up on once -- the third call -- I was told that their phone lines are not working well. I smell BULL! For some reason they just do not care. This si my money and I am out $300+ during xmas -- this is not fair or just. After waiting a few minutes on the that the call, finally got me on the phone with a supervisor named Melvina Milligan, who barely listened - she was located in TN and was working from home. Of course she could care less - how could you be professional and care about your job and offer ANY "customer service" when you are sitting in your PJs at home eating bon bons? The casual disinterest in her communication alone is reason enough to fire her. The complete disregard and and disconcern for the situation was shocking and made me even more agitated. I was and am beyond frustrated - how could a supervisor allow for a company such as fedex get3 away with ripping a customer off by $300+ and not offere a solution? I asked made multiple suggestions: resent me the items and require a signature upon delivery to ensure the items arrive, credit my account so that I can get the items in the store, credit my account and let me get it somewhere else, this woman would to agree to anything. My concern is that these items are popular and they will probably sell out - they are uggs and xmas gifts for my kids. The worst part is that all items are low in stock and the 12 day investigation doesn't end until 12/20/22 - All I want is a refund and to never ever deal with these people. I asked this woman for the name of the president of the company and she didn't know - I asked her for an email address and again for a corporate number and all she kept giving me was the phone number that I had originally called. She clearly has no clue. All she kept saying was we have to wait for the Fedex investigation which takes 12 days. She then suggested that I call Fedex myself -- I was so mad at that point that I told her that I would be posting this experience all over social media -- I am beyond aggravated. I also commit to NEVER giving Journeys another cent. My company will no longer purchase gifts from Journeys -- Zumiez will now earn my business. This is an absolute disgrace. I will be posting this everywhere.

What happens if i purchased the wrong size in store and they dont have the correct size in store,new with receipt can they order the correct size.

Hi Mary! So sorry for the delayed reply. There are a few different options in this case. 1) For the quickest option, the store can help you return the wrong size and place a Special Order for the correct size, which can either be shipped to your home or the store's address for pick up within 4 - 7 business days. 2) Alternatively, you may reorder the correct size via our website and then return the current order in the original manufacturer box to the store with your confirmation email. 3) Another option would be to request a prepaid FedEx label through our website with the following link (for web orders only) to exchange through our warehouse for the correct size. However, all warehouse returns and exchanges by mail can take 2 - 4 weeks to process from the date we receive the return package. shoes can be found At Journeys in Ala Moana. This is my go to store to buy them. I got two pairs of Converse today. One white high top and the other is the a black high top with embroidered hearts. We were greeted by Maddy and assisted by her from start to finish. She was quick and very friendly. Even though it took us a good 15-20 to decide, we didn't feel rushed by her. She recommended the Journeys socks for its good quality. We value this kind of quality service. Maddy offered a personal touch with her amazing customer service experience with us! She also shared some of the stickers! Thank you, Maddy! We hope you blossom further in your career! Come visit Journeys for your next Converse shoes! They also sell other brands such as backpacks from Converse, Fjallraven Kanken, shoez from New Balance ASICs, Fila, and boots and Crocs too. Hopefully you'll have Maddy as your sales associate on your next visit :)

we went. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice journey kids were. The manager Mel helped my daughter, and she must try it on like 6 different shoes. She was so patient and kind to my daughter. She even told me about 10% off if I signed up for their point system. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone.

She was so friendly to me and my sons. We were able to find what we needed in store and she helped me sign up for emails which gave me a $10 off coupon which was so nice. The manager was also there and was friendly as well. Bella is a stellar employee and I hope Journeys see this. We've shopped there before and have always been happy with them. :)

wanted it back on the card (which was my husbands) I came back another day with the credit card and was told they wouldn't give me a full refund because the package with the laces had been opened. Even though I'd put all the packaging back together neatly. If the packaging had been a problem, why didn't the first person tell me that? Its on $8 but what a hassle! The workers there are not on the same page and requiring the credit card to be in person when you have the receipt and only want the credit back on the original card is ridiculous

the young lady thought we'd buy anything hence the "no rush" demeanor on her part. She eventually came over to assist us. Everything that I wanted for myself was unavailable in this store because they didn't have a Women's Size 10. That frustrated me so badly that I started not to purchase anything, however, I did find and purchase my youngest a pair of embroidered Chuck Taylor Converse. My husband was eyeing some New Balance sneakers that he ended up getting. For myself and my oldest daughter I had to settle which I absolutely despise. I had to settle for buying 2 pairs of Chucks in store, a black and white pair and an all black pair. I also had to place an order for the 2 pairs of Chucks that they didn't have in the store to purchase. Now I have to anxiously check my porch for the delivery so that the packages won't get stolen because I live on a high traffic street with a bus line stopping smack dab in front of my house. In all the value of the shoes came up to well over $400+ dollars. It took a 2nd clerk to come out to assist us because the young lady that started with us took off to help someone else instead of finishing up with us. #RudeMuch? I'll give this store 3 Stars for the lack of inventory for larger sized feet especially for a woman like me who is spending the money for what she wants for herself, her children, and her husband, the fact that I had to order shoes when I could've bought them directly from the store, and the fact that it took so long to process our transaction. By the time we were done, PG Mall was closing.

He proceeds to start pulling shoes for my friend and tells the girl that was helping us to get all of those shoes for her, the girl proceeded to say "but that's not what she's looking for" and he replied with "oh I don't care what she wants it matters what I want for her" mind you we don't know this person and we felt really uncomfortable and he proceeded to try to talk to us like if he was an acquaintance of ours. Asking me why I was quiet and looked annoyed which I told him not to bug me, we were very disappointed with how he was with us and the other employees there and left the store to buy shoes that the vans store next door. Not sure why he's in charge of anything with a personality like that.

Moving up the line from customer service to supervisor to manager, Melvina, she says the something. Your warehouse sent the wrong shoes! After over an hour on the phone, she says I will refund $30. WOW $30 for your mistake, now the shoes don't match the dress for prom. I even told her overnight the correct boots and I would pay half the price of the correct ones, so she has boots that go with her dress for prom. Nope $30 ONLY - good to know that if Journeys warehouse ships the wrong shoes the only thing, they will do is $30 refund after spending over one hour with the manager and going through all the recording, speaking to customer service, supervisor, and senior manager. $30 is the best they can do, oh wait they can give you the website banner code for $10 off a $50 purchase. THANKS JOURNEY! Guess you lost a customer.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a pair of Converse sneakers 3 months ago. They have been lightly worn. Recently I noticed the rubber sole pulling away from the canvas part of the shoe. Obviously defective gluing. I no longer had the receipt but I had my credit card record showing the purchase and the original box the shoes came in. When I took the shoes back to the store for an exchange I was told they were worn and couldn’t be put back on the shelf if returned! That didn’t make any sense. The shoes were obviously defective. Is that Journeys policy to sell defective shoes? And of course the shoes were worn. Only by wearing them did the defect appear. I was told the only thing I could do was to talk to the district manager. She has never returned my calls. I’ve worn Converse for the last 20 years and never have I had this problem. I just wanted an exchange. I will never shop at Journeys again.

Terrible customer experience, never received my exchange

Terrible customer experience. I tried to do an exchange and 8 weeks later i have received nothing. They made me CALL them to tell them the tracking number of the exchange and i was told three different times over the phone and via chat my exchange was processing. I was just told 8 weeks later that the exchange never went through, that i was given a refund, and that I should review their exchange policy. Terrible experience. Wasted so much of my time. Will never purchase from here again.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Someone stole my package from my door step and they refused to send out another package or refund me my money. FedEx delivered the package several days early (so I was not expecting it) and just left the package on the front steps for people to steal. Journeys is awful and I will not be ordering from them again.

Order kids floral vans

Order kids floral vans, received a pair of new balance shoes. Contacted Journey and they were of no help asking me to return the shoes first before fixing the error. They dinally offer to set up fed-ex pick up to my surprise they are going to charge me to return the iteam they sent by accident . Total dissapointment, they dont offer any type of solution even after i stated i work 2 jobs.

Very satisfied

Positive experience. I bought my pair of boots online on a Monday morning, to have the UPS guy knocking at my door on Tuesday at 830am with my purchase in hands. Quick and everything came perfectly: right size, right colour, just as you would expect. I also contacted their costumer service on their page to check for my tracking number, and the service was quick and efficient as well.

The customer service is terrible

I did a refund for some shoes I bought & my refund amount was LESS than my actual order. I contacted customer service 3 times just for them to tell me there was nothing they can do. Customer service agents don't even know what they're talking about either. One agent told me they don't refund tax & another said they do refund tax but they don't refund shipping; however, I calculated the numbers and the numbers do not match. Although it's a little difference, it's the principle. They steal from their customers so don't ever shop here

Worst ever online shopping experience

This is the worst ever online shopping experience I had. I would rate negative stars if I could. I don’t even know how this shoe company still exists! Defective shoes and unbelievably cumbersome return/refund process. The sole purpose of having a customer service team is to create problems for customers. I spent $20 to ship the defective shoes back and they insisted not receiving them. Do not waste your time and money on this store!

Delivered to the wrong address

My $100 shoes were delivered to the wrong house, the picture taken proves that but Journeys would not reimburse me and told me I have to contact Fed Ex. I filed a claim with Fed Ex and am waiting for their investigation to conclude. Journeys has horrible customer service! They should replace my shoes or reimburse me and then file a claim with Fed Ex themselves!!!! I will never buy from Journeys again!

Do not purchase anything you do not…

Do not purchase anything you do not physically have in your hands. I went into our local store, ordered and paid for a pair of shoes for ship to home through the associate at the store. The company cancelled my order the next day by e-mail. It has been 3 weeks, several e-mails and phone calls, and I have not received my refund. I will never do business with a company that blatantly steals money from unwitting customers. Never again.

This is absolutely the worst company in…

This is absolutely the worst company in the world NEVER order shoes from them ever again unless you want to get your package in over a month!!! You will be on hold for over an hour just to ask a simple question their customer service people are very rude and unhelpful at the same time. Worse experience of my life with them. DO NOT ORDER!!!!!!! Please take my word you will regret it, you’ll thank me later. THE WORSE COMPANY!!!! Customer service doesn’t even deserve a 1 they are a 0/5.

Ordered size 6, received 8. Twice. Rough customer service

Ordered a pair of shoes in a woman size 6, received man 6. Got in touch with the customer service who helped me return the shoes and supposedly sent me another pair in the right size: I received the same thing. Called them back, and had to argue very intensely to get them to take them back, get a return label and a refund. They didn’t want to hear what the problem was. First and last time for me!

These people are careless…

These people are ridiculously careless when it comes to customer service. I ordered an item and accidentally chose the wrong shipping address and emailed them within 2 minutes of placing the order to change it. Over the next 2 days I sent 3 seperate emails about the issue and they still managed to send it to the wrong address. Now I will never get my item and have lost my money as well. Great job Journeys, take a hint and get better staff.

Terrible Customers Service

Entire purchasing process was terrible. Charged twice for shoes and they claim 7-10 business days to return. Why would you charge me once the shoes are delivered if you already charged me when I placed my order? Customer service unknowledgeable and overall unhelpful. Will not be purchasing from them againand will be telling everyone I know to do the same

Completely lying about delivery date and holding my money hostage.

I placed an online order. Order details and email said "Delivery: 3-5 Business Days". It is day 8 and my order has still not even shipped. They would not let me cancel and said that I have to wait to receive the order and then take it in person to a Journey's store to receive a refund. Terrible experience.

Worst customer service ever

Bought vans shoes for our 10 year old. He wore them 2 days. Soles are literally ripping off the shoe. Journeys says this is 'normal wear and tear', and they cannot exchange them. He wore them for 2 days! Shameless profiteering at this store, no regard for their own customers. I am embarrassed that I ever thought to shop there.

Not reliable

They canceled my order and did not even send me an email. So I had to reach out to them asking where my order was. They said it was canceled due to being "out of stock" but it is available in all their stores nearby, so it was definitely possible to complete my order if they had any level of customer service. All they had to say was "We really do apologize for this matter".

Absolutely horrible customer service it’s been three weeks since I ordered from there still haven’t received my order. They just tell me to deal with the shipper. FedEx tells me the contact the seller. This is so annoying I will not recommend them or will order there again myself! By the time your order arrives seasons have changed and it’s no longer needed 😅

The Skydance Media chief executive first made overtures last summer to Paramount’s nonexecutive chair, Shari Redstone, then spent months negotiating and renegotiating a deal acceptable to Redstone, Paramount’s board and the company’s shareholders.

Now that he’s clinched the company through a complicated, multipronged transaction valued at more than $8 billion, the real work begins. Ellison is set to become the company’s chief executive, while former NBCUniversal Chief Executive Jeff Shell will be president (Shell left his old job after acknowledging an “inappropriate relationship” with a colleague).

The legacy media and entertainment company has major challenges Ellison will need to address quickly to get Paramount back on the right footing, once the deal closes during the first half of next year.

Like many entertainment companies, Paramount is facing a decline in theatrical box office revenue as audiences haven’t returned to movie theaters with the same frequency as before the COVID-19 pandemic. Add to that Paramount’s particular woes with its money-losing streaming business as well as its heavy investment in cable networks that face challenges from cord cutting and declining advertising dollars, and it’s clear there is a lot for Ellison and his investors to fix.

“There really are amazing assets in this company,” said Jessica Reif Ehrlich, senior media and entertainment analyst at Bank of America Securities. “They just haven’t been managed well.”

For example, Paramount Pictures’ historic Melrose Avenue studio is valuable, as is Paramount’s broadcast network CBS. Some of the company’s cable networks, which include Nickelodeon, BET and MTV, have prized content and recognizable names. But they’re shells of what they used to be, Reif Ehrlich said.

“Every part of the business is under siege at this moment,” she said. “They really do need to resolve what they will be and have a clear point of view and way to achieve that as soon as possible.”

Paramount’s heavy debt load

First and foremost is paying down Paramount’s debt. Part of the company’s balance sheet problem will be addressed with a $1.5-billion cash infusion from Skydance and RedBird Capital Partners.

Getting Paramount on solid financial footing is key to its future success.

“This is very much about the fact that David Ellison and Skydance have had a 15-year relationship with Paramount,” RedBird Capital founder Gerry Cardinale said in an interview. “So it made it a lot easier to look at a strategic recapitalization, as opposed to just doing a deal.”

Paramount’s three current co-CEOs have already embarked on a $500-million cost-cutting plan that will continue as the Skydance transaction unspools. That plan involves evaluating the sale of certain Paramount assets, potentially including BET, as well as an unspecified number of layoffs. During an investor presentation Monday, Skydance executives said they had identified as much as $2 billion in “cost efficiencies” that would help increase cash flow.

Kenneth Leon, research director at CFRA Research, sounded cautiously optimistic about the plan in a note to investors.

“We think the new company has major opportunities for content production and distribution, but the challenges of competing in today’s disruptive movies and entertainment industry remain,” he wrote.

Cable networks: Asset and liability

It’s no secret that linear television revenue is declining as more customers cut the cord and abandon their traditional cable and satellite packages. But though the financial returns are diminishing, the cable networks are still making money for Paramount. That makes them an important asset to keep managing — strategically.

Last year, Paramount’s TV media segment, which includes CBS and the cable networks, brought in about $20 billion, or 68% of the company’s total revenue, according to its annual report. But that was about an 8% decrease compared with 2022.

Things were slightly better in the first fiscal quarter of 2024, when TV media brought in $5.2 billion in revenue, an increase of 0.7% compared with the same period a year ago.

“The linear business declining is not necessarily a bad story for Paramount,” said Laurent Yoon, senior analyst at Bernstein. “It’s already reflected in the stock price, and it’s not Paramount’s problem alone. There’s not much they can do. They just have to manage the decline.”

During Monday’s investor call, Skydance and RedBird executives touted the value and reach of CBS, noting that the network was a “driver” for the company.

The studio: A new shine on the crown jewel?

As one of Hollywood’s first studios, 112-year-old Paramount Pictures is the crown jewel of the company. That’s certainly how Sumner Redstone, Shari’s late father, saw it.

It has churned out such landmark films as “The Godfather,” “Chinatown” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” while moving into the modern age with franchises like “Top Gun” and “Star Trek.” But the company’s studio business has been a mixed bag of late.

Paramount’s filmed entertainment segment, which includes Paramount Pictures, its animation arm, Nickelodeon Studios and Miramax, brought in about $3 billion in revenue last year, down 20% from the previous year, according to regulatory filings. For the three-month period ending March 31, Paramount’s filmed entertainment sector revenue totaled $605 million, up about 3% from last year.

In some respects, the studio is being hit by the same external forces battering the rest of the entertainment industry — the 2024 box office receipts are not reaching the levels they did last year and fall far short of pre-pandemic levels. But the studio’s creative strategy needs to be rethought, as well as film budgets, said Reif Ehrlich of Bank of America.

Rethinking the studio strategy means leaning into franchises, Shell said in an interview.

“In Hollywood, you really make money when you have big franchises and are able to monetize them, and they really have not done that very effectively at Paramount,” Shell said. “For example, there’s no ‘Top Gun’ theme park ride anywhere in the world.”

If the studio’s finances were optimized — meaning if it cut back on expenses — it could be a $3-billion to $4-billion business with a potential for a 10% to 15% margin, said Yoon of Bernstein.

“Paramount obviously has a great heritage when it comes to moviemaking,” he said. “It feels like they should do better, but they’re not. But it does have the potential to stabilize.”

Ellison also said the Skydance deal would bolster the combined company’s animation capabilities, allowing Paramount to expand its family entertainment business.

Paramount+: The struggles of streaming profitability

The foray into the streaming business has been a costly one for Paramount. The company was late to join the so-called streaming wars, lagging behind competitors Netflix and even Disney, and then spent heavily on the service.

Even so, the company is struggling to add subscribers, leading to about $2 billion in losses for Paramount+ since launch. In the first fiscal quarter of 2024, however, the company’s streaming division reported revenue of nearly $1.88 billion , up 24% compared with a year earlier. The segment’s quarterly loss was $287 million.

Ellison laid out a plan Monday for tech upgrades to the Paramount+ service , including improved ad technology and a better algorithmic recommendation engine that could help reduce subscriber churn and increase users’ time on the platform.

One option currently being explored by the company is a joint venture for the streaming service, Paramount executives have said. Having a partner could help Paramount turn a profit in streaming, Yoon said.

Such a partnership would not be unprecedented. In May, Warner Bros. Discovery and the Walt Disney Co. said they would join together to offer a new streaming bundle this summer that would allow subscribers to access Max, Disney+ and Hulu in the same deal. Separately, Disney, Warner Bros. and Fox are preparing to launch a streaming venture for sports.

“It’s generally believed at this point that Paramount+ could be profitable in 2025, but ‘profitable’ is relative,” Yoon said. “Is it a dollar or is it a billion? They need to make sure the margin increases.”

When asked about how he would manufacture these ephemeral pieces from the collection, Vaccarello told Vogue, “Don’t even ask me about production—I can’t tell you.” This being the first instance the delicate outfits have been spotted on the red carpet speaks to Hadid’s risk-taking style. Even if she is the only person who ever wears one of these sheer Saint Laurent looks out in the world (let’s see if she can make it to the end of the night without any snags) the fact that Vaccarello was readily willing to make one for her speaks to Hadid’s immense power in the fashion industry.

And if this is Hadid’s wardrobe for her first official day of events in Cannes? We can only imagine what’s to come.

Journeys says its normal wear and tear so no exchange allowed. 2 days and fallong apart = normal? Even my 10 year old knows this is pure corporate greed. Stay away from these crooks.
