Admin

Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalees like to travel alone or in groups. KSRTC is responsible for taking the public to the jungles, bald hills, waterfalls, historical sites, and sea views as per the wishes of the travelers. KSRTC launched its first budget tour in 2021 on Kerala’s birthday. The Chalakudy-Malakappara journey was the first.

Although on a trial basis, KSRTC decided to organize trips from various depots to tourist destinations after the success of the trip. KSRTC is conducting budget tour packages in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Forests.

There are currently nine major tourism packages of KSRTC in the state. These include Malakappara, Nelliampathi, Wayanad, Jungle Safari, Monrothuruthu, Munnar, Vagamon, Sagararani, and Alappuzha packages from various depots. In addition, KSRTC operates tour package services from some depots to nearby dams, beaches, and elephant farms.

There are also two- and three-day tour packages that depart from 6 am and return in the evening. The Malakkappara service was the highest revenue earner for KSRTC in terms of tour packages. Munnar, Kothamangalam Jungle Safari, and Nelliampathi are close behind. During the Women’s Travel Week held from March 8 to 13 on the occasion of Women’s Day, KSRTC made 100 trips with only 4500 women traveling. Palakkad, Kannur, Malappuram, and Kozhikode districts had the highest number of women participants.

The KSRTC budget tour package generated revenue of Rs 1,96,62,872 from various services during the four months. In 763 trips, 36,749 passengers arrived at various destinations.

Budget tour packages are regularly updated on KSRTC’s Verified Official Facebook page at  https://www.facebook.com/KeralaStateRoadTransportCorporation . KSRTC hopes to offer more tour packages during the holiday months of April and May.

Kerala Trip: Best Time To Visit Kerala

Blessed with balmy weather throughout the year, an excursion to Kerala—snuggled in the southern part of India—can be a great choice, anytime. However, the winter season, falling between October and March, can be concluded as a perfect duration for a tour to Kerala. Let’s look at the below season-wise segregation to decide on the perfect time for a Kerala vacation. Elevate your experience with our thoughtfully curated Kerala trip packages , ensuring your journey is seamless and filled with memorable moments.

Summer (April - June)

With hot weather and evening showers adding humidity to the environment, the summer season cannot be recommended for a visit to Kerala . The temperature hovering between 32 degrees and 36-degree Celsius, makes it one of the hottest periods of the region.

However, this can be a great time for a budget vacation, and a tour to beautiful hill stations such as Idukki, Munnar, Palakkad, and Wayanad.

Monsoon (July - September)

Cherish the arrival of the monsoon with a visit to Kerala when the temperature ranges from 19 degrees to 30-degree celsius. With rampant showers, the period of monsoon let tourists enjoy the view of cascading waters and a lush green environment. So, this can be a great time to waking up to enchanting views and having a rejuvenating time while availing services of some of the best Ayurveda centres based here.

Set off for a tour with our Kerala tour package from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore ; and choose to visit Ayurvedic centres, like Kalari Kovilakom in Kollengode, Somatheeram Ayurvedic Beach Resort in Kovalam and other famous centres for best experiences.

Winter (October - March)

And, here comes the best season to visit the southern part of India with the onset of delightful winters. As the temperature hovers between 18 degrees and 29-degree Celsius and the sunshine mildly, here settles perfect weather for Kerala sightseeing . Do visit places, like Kovalam, Thekkady, Alleppey, Munnar, and Kumarakom; enjoy houseboating and a lot more for a wonderful experience in Kerala.

But, bear in mind that this period is the peak season for Kerala Holidays . And hence, it is advised to book our exclusive Kerala trip packages in advance.

Kerala Tourism: How to Reach?

Housing three international airports, the Calicut International Airport in the north, the Kochi International Airport in the centre, and the Trivandrum International Airport in the south; Kerala has very good air connectivity. A convenient option for both international and domestic travelers, the place can be easily accessed via boarding a flight to Kerala. However, Indian citizens can also board a flight from numerous domestic airports that connect Kerala with other states. Post arrival at the airport, one can choose to hop on a train or a taxi to reach their specific destination. Kerala package with flight option is available on our website to make traveling to Kerala easier for travelers.

Crammed with around 200 railway stations, there are frequent train services that can be availed to reach Kerala. Major railway stations of the state are Kovalam, Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kottayam, and more. One can board a train from prominent Indian cities like Coimbatore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata to Kerala. And later, hire a cab or an auto to reach their desired venue.

Being well-connected to neighbour states through roadways, it has three major highways: NH 17, NH 47, and NH 49 that make it easy for travelers to visit Kerala. Besides hiring a cab or opting for a road tour, one can also board a private or government bus from major cities of India to reach Kerala.

Choose to travel via sea, on a Kerala trip plan and have a luxurious experience. Connected with Lakshadweep, the state has a busy port from where one can find transport to get to their destination. However, traveling en route sea can be time consuming and expensive.

With our Kerala tour packages from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Banglore , and ample transportation options, getting around in Kerala is not a tough task. From public transport to private buses, tempo travelers, and taxis, tourists have numerous options at their disposal for a hassle-free trip.

Plan and enjoy a holiday like no other. Choose from a plethora of destinations. Check out the link below to find a list of our Tour Packages and get set to go today.

I usually remain out of town because of my work. And, this is the first time in seven years that I got a chance to take my wife on a romantic tour. However, still had just 4 days with me, so I chose Kerala as our destination. I got in touch with TravelTriangle representatives, and booked a perfect Kerala tour package that let us covered most of the tourist hotspots; and that too within my budget. Tips To Consider For Kerala Tour

Here are a few tips that one must consider while traveling to Kerala:

For an unparalleled experience, one can choose to enjoy a sojourn in the midst of a tea plantation.

Wildlife enthusiasts can also choose to spend some time or a day in a cavern amidst the lush jungles of Wayanad.

South Indian food is mostly spicy and prepared with coconut. If one is allergic to them or not able to consume them, they are advised to carry their own food.

If one is fond of snacks, make sure to pack their bags with fried bananas, fried rice pancakes, and other snack items before homebound.

Though alcohol is restricted to a certain amount for consumption, wine or whiskey can still be bought from the government stores in Kerala.

People are advised to pay courtesy to regional customs and wear decent clothes.

Spear yourself the torture of mosquito bites by carrying mosquito repellent cream.

Pack a pair of comfortable shoes and also a pair of flip-flops.

Do carry ID proofs and at least two copies of it and carry a personal kit of first aid.

Pack hand sanitiser, sunscreen, and lip balm and also carry a map of the area you are planning to go to.

If you are heading for a remote area for camping or similar activity, make sure to keep flashlights, matchboxes, and candles.

Do not forget to carry ponchos, an umbrella, and a raincoat, if you are planning to travel during the monsoon season.

With no electrical power and mobile networking, a sojourn in the midst of surreal backwaters in Alleppey is a complete cut-off from the outer world.

The government of Kerala has formed a tourism regulatory authority in order to boost the arrival of both foreign and domestic tourists.

The formation of a tourism regulatory authority is also supposed to prohibit any unhealthy practice.

Thanks to its proximity to the equator, the region experiences tropical weather conditions. Hence, one has to be prepared in advance to sweat a lot.

Jog Falls: Jog Falls, a major attraction in Karnataka, is located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka. Also known by alternative names of Gerusoppe Falls, Gersoppa Falls, and Jogada Gundi, it is one of the highest waterfalls in India. During monsoons, one can see a breathtaking view of the falls with rainbows coming every now and then. It is one of nature's splendid masterpieces and is situated in the dense evergreen forests. The effect of these striking falls is enhanced by the wild and beautiful region around it which is covered with plenty of abundant vegetation. This waterfall drops directly down without streaming on the rocks.

Varadahalli: Varadahalli is covered with rain forests and the ashram is located at a very beautiful place. Varadahalli is situated 6 km from Sagar, in the Shimoga district. Amidst the Western Ghats is the place where Agastya Rishi and Ved Vyas went to meditate and perform his Sadhana. Ved Vyas put the Durgambha idol there near a cave where he meditated daily. Sridhar Swamiji attained Moksha at the very place and in his memory his disciples built a Samadhi there.

Varadamoola: River Varadaa , a tributary of Tungabhadra originate from here. Located at a distance of about 8 km from Sagara town in Shimoga district, this place is popular for temple of Goddess Varadadevi and also few ancient shrines with rich history and traditions. Pushkarini or small water bodies located within the temple premises reflect ancient purity of culture, devotion and prayer. Generally it's not over crowded and it's advisable to visit the place in early morning to enjoy the beauty of pristine western ghats.

Ikkeri: Ikkeri is a historical village in Karnataka. It is located at a distance of about 6 km to the south of the Sagara town in the Shimoga district. It was the erstwhile capital of the Keladi Nayakas. The word Ikkeri means 'Two Streets' in the Kannada language.

Keladi: The town was once ruled by Nayakas, a part of the Vijayanagara empire. One such amazing piece of art is the Keladi Rameshwara temple. The temple is an extraordinary example of the marvelous Dravidian style of architecture. Chowdappa Nayaka who had built the temple, strategically placed every brick and tile to give rise to this awe-inspiring piece of work.

Aparna Sajinath

Offering three exclusive tour packages to Goa, Mumbai and a religious trip to Ayodhya, Varanasi and Prayagraj, a first-of-its-kind private train service has been launched for visitors from Kerala. The private train tour package has been introduced by Kochi-based Princy World Travels in association with the Indian Railways' 'Bharat Gaurav Yatra' initiative.

It is a government-approved joint venture with the Chennai-centric S.R.M.P.R. Group, which has ownership of these trains. Taking inspiration from the concept of chartered flight, this innovative venture offers a cost-effective alternative for the common man to explore places. With free travel insurance provided, the trains are well equipped with about 60 staff on board and a live CCTV and GPS tracking system is present.

Hygienic restrooms, ala carte dining, tailored bedding, on-board food trollies and Wi-Fi services are also available. A well-trained medical team made up of paramedical staff and a 24-hour emergency response team will be on board, remarked Princy Rails tour partner Miju C. Moidu. An infotainment app for tourists is in the works and will soon be accessible, with boarding available at major Kerala stations. Reservations can be made via the dedicated portal of Princy World Travels.

The inaugural journey of this package is scheduled for June 4, departing from Thiruvananthapuram to Madgaon. Dr. Devika Menon, Director of Princy World Travel Pvt. Ltd., confirmed that the trips to the other two destinations will also commence in June itself, and there will be one train each to all three destinations every month.
