Tankard are one of those bands where the name says it all. They’re few and far between. The Cure? Arctic Monkeys? The Stone Roses? Each of them say nothing about the music and the themes therein but with Tankard, it’s a pretty easy guess what you’ll find these Frankfurt based Thrash metallers singing about ten times out of ten. That’s right. Socio-economic division and the societal dangers that come from… Yeah, it’s beer. Beer and the imbibing of it. It’s just as well that’s what they’re about as well cos rising as they did to become one of the “big four” of Teutonic Thrash Metal, and if there was ever a group of bands in need of some light to go with all that shade, it was them. However, just because Tankard are a (relatively) light hearted band, that absolutely doesn’t mean that they’re not to be taken very seriously. With thirty three years of experience (the current line up itself has played together for a very respectable fifteen years) they’re an absolutely monstrous live act, every ounce of passion, heart and soul being left on stage with every crushing riff and blastbeat. It’s a truly astonishing site, one that proves that heavy metal bands can still be utterly brutal without being pointlessly dark and brooding. Quite the opposite, this is celebration metal, and it comes highly recommended.

About tankard.

Tankard is a thrash metal band from Frankfurt am Main, Germany, founded in 1982. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard is often considered one of the "Big Teutonic 4" of Teutonic thrash metal. They released their first record in 1986 and continue to write and record in the same vein: fast metal songs in honour of alcohol. Christmas at Home with The Tankard

Had dinner here last night. Top class meal in a restaurant that felt comfortable and safe in difficult times for management. Well done everyone.

Just had a fabulous meal with family & kids at The Tankard & once again it was really good.Seafood Mornay was so tasty & fish tasted very fresh. Crab & avocado dish was also gorgeous. Staff were very attentive & Guinness top notch. Ate in bar next to fire which was very cosy. Couldn't recommend enough, have never had a bad meal here.

Huge thanks to Enda O Sullivan and his team. Excellent meal 5* Top class safety measures all in place and felt we were in extremely safe hands. Best i have seen in Kerry, Cork and Clare. Food was divine as always! Service fantastic. Scenery amazing. Thanks so much. Can't wait to go back.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to the wonderful management and staff of this outstanding restaurant, for a most wonderful evening. We had a lovely relaxing evening in the newly decorated restaurant, with fabulous views over Tralee bay . Our food was absolutely outstanding , and the service was superb. Thank you all for a most memorable evening.
