Formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, US, Firehouse are a glam metal band that came into popularity in the late 80s and early 90s, taking their cues from the likes of Bon Jovi, Poison and Def Leppard.

Clad in leather and with long permed hair, FireHouse were the quintessential glam metal band, arriving towards the tail end of the scene that came into popularity in the 80s. Having developed their sound and cemented their lineup, the band caught the attention of Epic Records in 1989, who signed them to their label for their debut release. Released in 1990, their self-titled debut found significant critical acclaim, beating the likes of Nirvana and Alice in Chains to the title of 'Best New Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band' at the American Music Awards in 1991. The album was a huge success, selling over two million copies and was certified double-Platinum. With several high-charting singles, the band also managed to make waves in the Canadian, Singaporean and Japanese charts, with the album certified Gold in these countries.

They followed their debut with 1992's "Hold Your Fire," which whilst not as successful, it still managed to be certified Gold, helped by the top ten hit single, the rock ballad, "When I Look Into Your Eyes." Their third album, "FireHouse 3" was released in 1995, featuring the top 20 ballad, "I Live My Life For You." However, with changing tastes moving towards the grunge/alternative rock scene, FireHouse's popularity began to wane as the decade went on, being unable match the heights of their debut. They continued to release albums moving to a more middle-of-the-road sound, such as the band Boston, finding interest on the adult contemporary radio.

They released five further albums to limited success, as well as the "Bring 'Em Out Live" CD/DVD in 1999, recorded in Japan. Despite not finding much success in their home country, FireHouse have enjoyed continuing popularity in a number of Asian countries, with their album sales remaining consistently high and their live performances popular. In India, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and many other countries, FireHouse have found legions of fans and have embarked on extensive tours in this region.

Live reviews

North Carolina band Firehouse remain champions of a fast fading genre, glam metal. There is very little theatrics involved in metal these days and the large hair and bizarre outfits that worked in their 90s heydays have diminished leaving the band to evolve with the times.

The new music is notably more reserved with less emphasis on the glamour and the face decorations of time past although there is a nice eccentricity still present in the live show. Three out of four musicians onstage have been present since the very beginning and this helps out hugely when it comes to live performance as there is an unspoken rapport and great consistency to the show. They do not deny the popularity of their very first album playing a good chunk of its tracks including 'All She Wrote' 'Shake & Tumble' and finishing on the gargantuan 'Don't Treat Me Bad'. It is an evocative and energetic live show with that ever present emphasis on not taking things too seriously and allowing the music to speak for itself.

I want my money back!!! I was extremely disappointed when I saw that the group on stage was not Firehouse, it was “Firehouse the band”, a whole different band with no music relation at all from the 80’s hard rock band I was advertised I was going to see. It was a waste of time and money and my wife was not happy either which it made it worse.

If you are a decent and respectful music connection platform please help me recover my $58.70 or at least $50 I spent on these tickets or you will lose one eager so far disappointed follower.

Firehouse is another great band from the 90's hair band era. They had several top 40 hits such as "Don't Treat Me Bad", "Love of a Lifetime", "All She Wrote", and "When I Look Into Your Eyes".

They have only gotten better with age. They connect with their crowd and bring you right into the show with them. Just after the first few songs, they will have you dancing, singing and screaming for more.

They are definitely worth checking out and they will not disappoint you. Every time I have been to one of their shows, a good time was had by all.

Seen Firehouse in Herrin Illinois they were awesome sounded just like I remembered from my teenage days when we listened to them over and over again between all 4 of the bands that played they were my 2nd favorite there right after Tom Keifer, but even 2nd I would love to see them again because they rocked that show!

About firehouse.

FireHouse is an American glam metal band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1989. The band reached stardom during the early 1990s with hit singles like "Reach For The Sky","Don't Treat Me Bad" and "All She Wrote", as well as their signature power ballads "I Live My Life for You", "Love of a Lifetime" and "When I Look Into Your Eyes" . At the 1992 American Music Awards, FireHouse won the award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock New Artist. They were chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains. As the 1990s progressed, the band remained very popular in Asia, mainly in countries like Japan, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore. They also maintained popularity in South America and Europe. FireHouse continued to release new material throughout the late 1990s and into the early 2000s, most of which has successfully charted in Japan. The band has also continued to tour internationally as of 2007, having participated twice in the annual Rock Never Stops Tour with other bands of the 1980s. FireHouse is estimated to have sold over 7 million albums worldwide since their debut. Originally composed of vocalist C. J. Snare, guitarist Bill Leverty, drummer Michael Foster, and bassist Perry Richardson, the band has maintained its original members with the exception of Richardson, who departed in 2000. Richardson was replaced three times before current bassist Allen McKenzie was given the position in 2004.

CJ Snare Firehouse

C.J. Snare, the lead vocalist and a founding member of Firehouse, has died. He was 64.

The band shared the news of Snare’s passing on Sunday (April 7) in a statement on the official Firehouse Facebook page.

“Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll,” the message began. “It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of Firehouse.”

“We are all in complete shock with CJ’s untimely passing,” the group wrote on Saturday, highlighting Snare’s vocal talent and noting he’d been on the road with FireHouse “non-stop the past 34 years.”

Gone But Not Forgotten: Musicians We Lost in 2024

After signing with Epic Records in 1989, Firehouse had two top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the early ’90s with power ballads “Love of a Lifetime” in 1991 and “When I Look Into Your Eyes” in 1992.

Firehouse’s statement on Snare’s death ended with condolences “to the entire Snare family, Katherine Little, friends, and all our beloved fans all over the world. ‘Reach for the Sky’ CJ! You will be forever missed by family, friends, fans and your band mates. You’re singing with the angels now.”

Photo tour of the new Firehouse Restaurant, now open in Sound Beach

The new Firehouse Restaurant and Bar in Sound Beach honors the life of fallen FDNY firefighter Joey DiBernardo.

“His favorite place in the whole world [was the firehouse],” the elder Joseph DiBernardo, a retired FDNY deputy chief, told Greater Long Island .

In tribute to Joey DiBernardo — who died 12 years ago today, Nov. 22, from the lingering effects of injuries suffered during a 2005 “Black Sunday” fire in The Bronx — his family has combined two of his passions with The Firehouse Restaurant & Bar in Sound Beach.

[Keep scrolling for photos.]

The family opened the restaurant earlier this month at 30 New York Ave., which previously housed The Hartlin Inn , a landmark bar and grill that closed in 2021 after being in business for more than a quarter of a century.

Joseph DiBernardo and wife Barbara of Miller Beach decided to buy the nearly 90-year-old building after The Hartlin Inn shuttered during the pandemic, with plans to open a new restaurant in what had long been a popular draw in Sound Beach.

“My wife and I used to go to The Hartlin a couple of times a week,” he said. “We used to go there after Joey’s passing.”

The younger DiBernardo, who started out as a volunteer with the Setauket Fire Department in 1989, joined the New York City Fire Department as a fire dispatcher in 1993.

Two years later, he became a probationary city firefighter, following in the footsteps of his father, who retired in 2001 after more than three decades with the FDNY.

He was working for Rescue Co. 3 in The Bronx in January 2005 on what became known as “Black Sunday” — when three members of The Bravest died in fires in The Bronx and Brooklyn on a single day.

DiBernardo was severely burned and fractured both feet, among other serious injuries, after he and three other trapped firefighters jumped out of a burning building on East 178th Street. Lt. Curtis Meyran of Battalion 26 and Lt. John Bellew of Ladder 27 died after leaping from the building, while Firefighter Jeff Cool and DiBernardo survived with massive injuries that kept them hospitalized for weeks .

firehouse on tour

At the time, the FDNY did not equip firefighters with personal safety ropes that could have helped them escape the burning building, a policy reversed after the 2005 fire.

DiBernardo succumbed at age 40 on Nov. 22, 2011 — “from injuries in the fire,” his father said — and his family established the Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Memorial Foundation to raise money for personal safety equipment and training for fire departments.

It’s one part of DiBernardo’s legacy, with another coming in the form of The Firehouse Restaurant & Bar.

After more than two years of major renovations — which included building an extension for wheelchair-accessible bathrooms that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act — the family began welcoming patrons in April.

The menu features burgers, pasta, fish and sandwiches, along with some firehouse favorites. There is also a full bar with signature cocktails.

Warrant, FireHouse concert in Watertown still on after rock singer’s death

The show must go on.

Warrant and FireHouse are still set to perform at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena on May 11, despite the recent death of FireHouse singer C.J. Snare . The rock concert is the 26th show presented by the Disabled Persons Action Organization (DPAO) in Watertown.

Snare, the voice of ‘90s power ballads like “Love of a Lifetime,” “When I Look Into Your Eyes” and “I Live My Life for You,” died April 5 at age 64. He had left the rock/metal band six months ago to recover from abdominal surgery and was planning to return to performing before his death.

“We’re sad to learn of the passing of CJ Snare, the original lead vocalist, and a founding member of the musical group FireHouse,” the band said in a statement. “We were looking forward to CJ rejoining the band after recovering from surgery last fall. Unfortunately, due to CJ’s untimely passing, that won’t be possible.”

FireHouse said Nate Peck , a 2023 contestant on “American Idol,” will be handling vocals for the band. Peck, a golden ticket recipient from season 21 of the singing competition, has been singing with the band with Snare’s blessing over the past six months, the statement added.

“CJ left an indelible mark on the music industry with his soaring vocals and the FireHouse music he helped craft,” the band said. “Reach for the Sky CJ! Your memory and your music will live on forever.”

Warrant, a glam metal band best known for the songs “Heaven” and “Cherry Pie,” is similarly carrying on the band’s legacy without its previous frontman, Jani Lane, who died in 2011. Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon and vocalist Robert Mason lead the current lineup.

The Watertown concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena. Doors open at 5 p.m., music starts at 7.

Tickets are on sale at dpaoconcerts.com , through the DPAO Concerts office (315-782-0044; 1291 Faichney Dr. Door D), or at area Kinney Drugs locations. Prices are $45 for general admission and $75 for Pit standing room.

Proceeds from the event go towards the DPAO Agency, which works to provide services for developmentally disabled children and adults in Jefferson and Lewis County. The DPAO says it currently provides services to 600 families, assisting with the stress of caring for their disabled loved ones.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
