Basi kabla hajaanza kusimulia Sinbad mbeba mizigo akamwambia Mkuu mimi nina mzigo wangu natakiwa niupeleke sehemu hivyo niruhusu niondoke.

Itinerary highlights

What's included, at a glance.

This is the ultimate wildlife adventure in South Africa.

There are only a few months of the year (July to October) during which you can see the ‘Big Seven’, which are the iconic Big Five on safari (rhino, elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo) plus the ocean’s southern right whales and great white sharks which can be spotted off of South Africa’s Cape.

Begin on the aptly named Whale Coast , a stretch of the Western Cape where mountains lead down to secluded beach coves, pleasant villages and the Atlantic Ocean. Here you’ll go cage diving with great white sharks in Hermanus and embark on a special nautical safari to get up close to the whales, before a three nights in Cape Town where you’ll be shown around the scenic city and beyond on privately guided tours. End with a classic safari in the exclusive Sabi Sands Game Reserve, where you’ll spot the Big Five and much more while based in a fabulous lodge or camp in this incredible wilderness.

safari 7 za sinbad

Ocean Eleven is an olde worlde, Cape Cod, colonial style guesthouse situated on the famous cliffs of Hermanus. The picturesque mountains beyond gently embrace the phenomenal, all encompassing vista of the bay.

The main house of Ocean Eleven was built with all the high ceilings, tall windows and teak floors that made colonial architecture so utterly elegant. All these features and thus the grace and style have been retained to this day.

Ocean Eleven boasts beautifully appointed rooms that have an all-embracing sea view over Walker Bay. Luxuries include 100% cotton percale linen and tea making facilities.

safari 7 za sinbad

Like its siblings of the Royal Portfolio properties (Royal Malewane in the Kruger and La Residence in Franschhoek), Birkenhead House exudes a comfortable chic that is majestically modern yet intimate. Its position on the cliffs of Hermanus looking over Walker Bay confirms it as one of the best places to stay along the Whale Cape.

With only eleven rooms, a fully-equipped spa and an excellent restaurant, the service here is both attentive and personal and a broad range of activities from aromatherapy to shark diving can be arranged.

The interiors are an adroit marriage between traditional French-style furniture offset by antiques, and more clean modern lines using a fresh white and beige palette interspersed with expert use of vibrant colours that complement the views streaming in, and which mostly draws the eyes.

safari 7 za sinbad

Perfectly poised on the headland between two bays and at the heart of what is considered one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world, the 2,500-hectare Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is well-positioned to help you enjoy both the area’s thrilling and more relaxing activities. Part of what makes Grootbos extra special is the property’s commitment to making a positive impact through various projects.

From horse-riding on wild Atlantic beaches and spotting whales and pods of dolphin cavorting in Walker Bay, to tasting regional wines and discovering the unique heritage of towns such as De Kelders and Hermanus, then learning about the intriguing fynbos flora and fauna, you won’t be short of things to do here on the Whale Coast and at Grootbos. For budding botanists, the reserve encompasses a vast swathe of the beautiful Cape Floristic Region, the smallest of earth’s six recognised floral kingdoms.

There are two fabulous places to stay here – the homely Garden Lodge and contemporary Forest Lodge – as well as two fabulous Private Villas , all of which admire incredible vistas to the sea and mountains.

safari 7 za sinbad

Thatch House is a beautiful boutique property that sits on the banks of the Hermanus Lagoon, looking out over the Cape Fold Mountains.

There are just four suites which gives the property an exclusive, intimate feel. The large, double volume suites – Waterfall, Flamingo, Lagoon, and Pincushion – are elegant and sophisticated and feature private terraces from which to gaze outover the lagoon. They all have an adjoining room with twin beds, making them perfect for families.

There is plenty to do on-site with two swimming pools, a chipping and putting green, Jacuzzi and floodlit tennis courts. Kids will have a wonderful time whizzing along the suspension bridges between the trees and exploring the tree house. You can also get out and discover the lagoon by kayak – boat cruises, tubing and water skiing can also be arranged.

There is the option to include all your meals here, and with locally sourced ingredients and a nose-to-tail and root-to seed philosophy, you won’t be left disappointed.

safari 7 za sinbad

You need only look up from your table, bed or book when staying at the smart cliffside hotel of Marine Hermanus to see whales breaching the Atlantic surf of Walker Bay.

The 42 suites, that surround a pretty internal courtyard and lovely groomed gardens, are decorated in a light palette of colours which feels smart, comfortable and clean. Built in 1902, the use of traditional furniture, heavy fabrics, antiques and chintz wallpaper really enhances the classic, early 20th-century seaside character here too. However the main feature at the hotel is its position on the Hermanus headland which gives it 360? views of the bays, the Overburg mountains and quite frankly one of the most magnificent seascapes in the southern hemisphere.

The in-house restaurant usually employs a very reputable chef making the food at the hotel consistently excellent. Hermanus is well known as the one of the planet’s best places to spot whales from the shoreline, its local town also carries a tangible European feel with its many cafés and arts culture.

safari 7 za sinbad

With views over the historic harbour, this modern small hotel of only eighteen rooms delivers a touch of seaside and convenience being at the heart of Hermanus town.

The impressive suites are tastefully decorated in modern style and offer spectacular views of the mountain cliffs or across the ocean below. Each comes with all the mod-cons, including a fully equipped kitchen.

Guests can relax on sun loungers by the hotel pool, and there is a designated children’s swimming area. The hotel also has an in-house restaurant with a modern à la carte menu, or you can pop out and visit neighbouring restaurants.

Hermanus town is renowned for some of the best land-based whale watching opportunities in Africa and the hotel is positioned with great viewpoints to capture this incredible scene.

Bicycle hire is available for guests who are keen to explore the local area by their own steam.

safari 7 za sinbad

Almost immediately south-east from the outskirts of Cape Town and following the Atlantic shoreline along the Western Cape, this is a protected collection of beautiful bays with crescents of pristine white beaches, wild surf, tranquil mountains that dramatically descend into the Atlantic, sleepy valleys, nature reserves, charming coves bustling with wildlife and pleasant villages brimming with local heritage.

Some of the world’s premier destinations for viewing nurseries of southern right whales, as well as other marine life, are located on this coast, such as Hermanus, Overburg and Walker Bay, and there are also the shivers of great white sharks that gather off Gansbaai.

safari 7 za sinbad

Today, you have a scheduled, shared whale watching boat tour. Your driver will collect you from your hotel and drive you to New Harbour to meet with your nautical guide and catamaran. While the focus of today's viewing is the Southern Right Whale, there will also be the opportunity to see Humpback and Bryde's whales, dolphins, seals and a large variety of marine birds, including the African penguin. Onboard the purpose-built catamaran, there're different viewing levels, offering spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities. This tour can be anything from one and a half hours to three hours, with the average time at sea being two hours. Seasick medication is recommended for those without sea-legs.

safari 7 za sinbad

Board your shark-chaser, the Predator II for the five mile voyage to Dyer Island. The island, together with Geyser Rock nearby, is home to 40 000 Cape Fur Seals, the Great White Shark’s favourite prey, and the channel which runs between the two is known as Shark Alley. This is where you will anchor – using a specially mixed chum to attract the sharks, you will soon have an opportunity to see them feeding at the surface, alongside the boat. The cage is then lowered and you will be able to witness these incredible hunters of the deep in your wetsuit, protected by galvanised steel mesh. All diving equipment is supplied and only snorkeling experience is required if you want to go down in the cage. A light lunch is served on the boat as well as refreshments and you will have the chance to see seals and whales in season as well as the sharks.

Accommodation in Cape Town

safari 7 za sinbad

  • Design by local artisans
  • Holistic spa
  • Two beautifully tiled pools
  • Seasonal produce & local wines
  • Private dining on request

This historic hotel in colourful Cape Town has just 19 rooms, offering an intimate escape from the neighbourhood’s buzzy streets. It’s all about local artisans here, with artworks, crafts and striking pieces of furniture that create a bold but beautiful maximalist aesthetic. Expect emerald greens and distinctive printed wallpapers, accented with gold trimmings.

The property is perfectly placed for exploring the restaurants and bars on popular Kloof Street, or for getting outdoors and atop Table Mountain, where views of the city are truly awe-inspiring. There’s plenty of pleasure to be found inside the hotel, too, though, with two prettily tiled swimming pools and a handful of loungers that invite you to laze around in the sun for at least a few hours.

Food here is served in Upper Union, where a carefully curated menu offers seasonal produce by way of small plates and larger dishes, and the cocktails are a highlight for locals and visitors alike.

The impact of your stay:

  • Built in the early 1800s and declared a national monument in 1984, Cape Cadogan underwent a thoughtful restoration to become a stylish city hotel. Retaining the original features, it stands as an iconic symbol of Cape Town, serving as a reminder of the city’s history and cultural heritage.
  • Revenue from Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel supports the More Community Foundation, with a strong emphasis on vital education in the local area. In the Cape Town region, they’ve funded the Injongo Educare Centre, catering to children from the Mfuleni area and providing an after-school care programme for children from neighbouring schools.
  • With every stay, a sustainability levy is directed to the More Community Foundation, which aids in overseeing their sustainability initiatives. These efforts include the elimination of single-use plastics, the establishment of effective recycling systems, and the monthly generation of a sustainability report. This report captures all relevant data and serves as a workshop tool to continuously enhance their environmental impact and reduce their carbon footprint.

The Grand Dame, heritage property of Cape Town, the Mount Nelson comes with bags of history and is perhaps the most famous hotel in the city. It’s set in large grounds and is made up of a number of different smaller buildings. Most rooms have been refurbished with a contemporary refresh, adding comfort and modern touches to the historic décor. The bar and restaurant have had a similar treatment making them a popular place to visit for Capetonians (a great sign for any hotel restaurant, particularly in the fickle and competitive Cape Town restaurant scene).

From their vermiculture project and on-site beehives, to their use of locally produced organic vegetables, the hotel puts a strong emphasis on having a positive impact on the environment and local community.

Rooms are very comfortable and spacious and are located in several buildings dotted throughout the large property and gardens. This makes it stand apart from other larger hotels in Cape Town as in this most outdoor of cities it’s great to have large, green gardens to take a stroll through and outdoor pools (and for the more active, there are also tennis courts).

Though The Mount Nelson is very much a location in itself, the large grounds sit just a short stroll away from downtown and also the Kloof Street Area, which is famous among locals for excellent new restaurants and boutiques. Afternoon Tea at the Nelson (or Nellie as it is affectionately known) is a Cape Town institution and well worth trying.

  • With each stay, a sustainability levy is directed to the More Community Foundation, which plays a key role in overseeing their sustainability initiatives. These efforts have successfully eradicated the use of single-use plastics, implemented effective recycling systems, and produced a monthly sustainability report. This report comprehensively captures all relevant data, enabling workshops to continually enhance and reduce their carbon footprint.

Situated in the heart of the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Grace is one of Cape Town’s most famous luxury hotels. In a playful touch, sumptuous chandeliers are adorned with unusual items (such as crockery and kitchenware in the Restaurant area). The 120 rooms and suites are spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated offering views out to Table Mountain, Signal Hill or the Marina.

Perched right on the edge of the South African shoreline, this boutique hotel is tucked away between the rugged cliffs and gentle waters of Hout Bay, providing you with a degree of isolation from the bustle of Cape Town yet remaining close enough to allow easy access to the area’s sights and activities.

safari 7 za sinbad

  • Your stay at Dulini Moya includes essential conservation fees aiding the preservation of the Kruger National Park, home to critically endangered species. The lodge actively contributes to the park’s conservation by maintaining an in-house anti-poaching team and participating in collaborative rhino dehorning initiatives. The systematic dehorning, similar to trimming fingernails, is a painless process that safeguards rhinos from poaching threats, as their horns grow back over time.
  • Your stay offers chances to directly engage in supported conservation efforts through research participation or visiting projects. Ongoing research covers leopards, elephants, and honey badgers. The lodge is also actively involved in a bee conservation initiative. During game drives, guides record sightings to monitor animal movement and numbers, sharing this data with Panthera, a local non-profit focused on big cat conservation.
  • In South Africa, gender inequality poses challenges to the education system. Up to 60% of rural African girls drop out due to limited access to sanitary wear, leading to social, economic, and political marginalisation. In response, Dulini Moya’s Project Dignity empowers girls from impoverished rural backgrounds to complete their education by providing a steady supply of washable and reusable sanitary products

Safari 7 is a self-guided tour of urban wildlife along the 7 subway line. The 7 Line is a physical, urban transect through New York City’s most diverse range of ecosystems. Affectionately called the International Express, the 7 line runs from Manhattan’s dense core, under the East River, and through a dispersed mixture of residences and parklands, terminating in downtown Flushing, Queens, the nation’s most ethnically diverse county.

Safari 7 circulates an ongoing series of podcasts and maps that explore the complexity, biodiversity, conflicts, and potentials of New York’s ecosystems. Safari 7 imagines train cars as eco-urban classrooms, and invites travelers to act as park rangers in their city.

7 Day Sumptuous Timbavati And Sabi Sand Safari

safari 7 za sinbad

Related regions :

The Ultimate Wedding & Honeymoon Package, this 7-day safari incorporates a safari experience in the famous Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve and the Timbavati Private Game Reserve; arguably the best wildlife destinations in Africa.

Your phenomenal Big 5 safari experience is complemented with world-class accommodations and hospitality.

Kings Camp welcomes you to the Greater Kruger National Park where you will experience true luxury, gourmet cuisine, open savannah plains, and open vehicle game drives within a 24710-acre reserve that is home to an abundance of wildlife including the famous Big 5 and white lions.

Leopard Hills is an award-winning lodge which borders the renowned Kruger National Park and offers exquisite accommodations, outstanding cuisine, and sensational game viewing, particularly of the majestic leopard.

With the highest concentration of lion and leopard in the world, these two reserves continue to feature as the top five reserves in Africa.

This tour is ideal for wildlife lovers and avid photographers looking for a truly rewarding safari experience.

Day 1 - 3: Timbavati Private Game Reserve

Today you will depart on a scheduled flight from Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport to the Timbavati Private Game Reserve where you will spend the next three days in ultimate luxury whilst exploring the African bushveld.

The mornings start with an early wake-up call and a fresh cup of brewed coffee or tea, before heading out into the bush with a highly skilled ranger and tracker for about 3 - 4 hours. Witness the bush come to life as animals awake and generally make their way to surrounding waterholes for a drink. Be sure to have your camera ready for some fantastic photographic opportunities.

After you return to camp, enjoy a hearty breakfast, followed by some free time to relax or venture out on an exciting bush walk with an armed ranger.  Discover the excitement and ancient secrets of the African wilderness as you walk amongst the vegetation and animals of the bush. This experience will be sure to awaken your senses.

In the late afternoon, you head out into the bush again for more up-close animal encounters and to witness the most spectacular red-sky sunset you will ever see. Be sure to be on the lookout for the reserve's famous white lion.

‍ Accommodation: Kings Camp

Day 4 - 6: Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

After one final early morning game drive in the Timbavati, you return to camp for breakfast and collect your belongings before heading to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.

After settling into your luxurious suite and a sumptuous lunch, you will gear up for your first of many adventures in the Sabi Sands. Darkness brings about a time of both danger and respite in the bush which allows you to possibly spot smaller carnivores like Genet or Civet not usually seen by day. This is also the time when most predators hunt so your evening game drive could potentially be the most exciting of all.

No dinner will ever be the same at Leopard Hills, from dining under the stars in the traditional boma to fine silver service dinners in the dining room, or out on the upper deck where a cool breeze is a welcome relief from the African heat. The perfect end to a wonderful safari experience; a private dinner on the deck of your suite is offered to couples wanting to spend time together in privacy.

Those with a passion for wildlife photography will be able to get various tips from their ranger on taking the perfect picture, while on their game drive or walking safari. The rangers are avid fans of photography and many of them have entered renowned international and local competitions.

‍ Accommodation: Leopard Hills

Day 7: Depart Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

Your final morning in the African bush includes one last opportunity to see wildlife before heading back to Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport where you will connect with your onward travel arrangements. You may leave Africa with a heavy heart but the experiences you have had remain etched in your memory forever.

Pascal is a travel angel! Highly recommend him.
We started planning for our safari trip contacting a bunch of different travel advisors but Pascal's service truly stood out to us as the best in the industry. He took care of planning everything from start to finish for our very last minute honeymoon trip (literally a month out and during the busiest safari season). He is extremely meticulous and very responsive to our 100 questions. He shared first hand experiences at each of the different lodges, personal pictures and gave us solid recommendations within our budget. He hopped on a call with us initially to explain all the differences to us first time safari goers, and continued to be very flexible and patient with us as we couldn't decide! We are very excited for our trip and cannot thank Pascal enough for being our first interaction on our upcoming trip.

Wonderful experience with Safari.com
Wonderful experience with Safari.com. My Safari Agent, Dolan, has 20+ years of experience in booking a memorable safari. He guided me in picking the right lodging and safari within my budget. He offered several options and answered all my questions. His response time was fast, regardless of the international time difference, and we were able to make quick decisions. Highly recommend.
