A Saturday night gig at Kentish Town Forum, London. This was the first time I have seen Amber Run and it won't be the last.

Great atmosphere at the gig, lots of singalongs and cheering (with encouragement from the band).

They are an indie-type rock band, 3 guitarists, keyboards and drummer but as well as some fast numbers their slower songs were so melodic with beautiful harmonies.

When I left I could hear people saying what a terrific gig it was and I couldn't agree more.

One word: Brilliant. The entire concert was phenomenal, from both openers to headline act. I've never been more blown away by the total talent present at a single concert. Both Meadowlark and Rhodes were bands I had never heard of before and I am so glad I had the wonderful opportunity to discover them. Then Amber Run came on and blew me away. Great showmen and singers, and just really great people. You can feel their gratitude and love for their fans with everything they do.

I've been to the show in Munich on 11/5/17, which was the last show they played on their first headline tour through Europe.

The guys were fantastic. Even though there were technical difficulties, which were definitely the venue's fault, the band created a beautiful atmosphere, chatting a lot with the audience and taking time. I really had the feeling like they were putting everything out there.

If they come to your city, make sure to go watch them, they're amazing!

Saw Amber Run at Dingwalls last night and the gig was brilliant. Opened the show with I Found which instantly got the crowd going and the gig never went downhill from there. The band looked genuinely humbled by the reaction of the audience. This was my fourth time of seeing them live and it was the best yet. Can't wait for the next next gig at La Scala in April so you'd do well to see these guys at a small venue. They are going to be big one day. Miss them at your peril.

Mark my words... Amber Run will be HUGE!!! An absolutely amazing show in every way shape and form. They are tremendous performers who clearly love what they do. Joe has such a powerful voice that it's truly hard to appreciate from a recording. Hearing him live was a privilege and an honor I will not soon forget! As soon as they come around again... I'll be there... Front and center!

Saw these guys play early on in the year at BotF festival, at this time I had no knowledge of who they were but afterwards, knew I had to see them again. so when I saw they were coming to Bristol I was overjoye and its safe to say they didn't disappointed. They are born performers and their unique sound carries so much emotion, can't wait to see them again!

I actually flew back from the Caribbean in order to be here for the show! It was exhilarating to see them live, phenomenal performers specifically the main singer, I actually think they should’ve done globe hall or something instead but only for intimacy and better acoustics! Phenomenal time getting to see them live, meant a lot to me!

Thunderbee’s profile image

Although we had to wait a little longer than expected for the band to start, they didn't disappoint. Just the right mixture of interaction with the audience and their song choice was perfect. Let's hope they don't leave it another 14 months before they come back again.

Last nights show was fabulous. The band we’re on top form from beginning to end. The guy from Stereo Honey joining for a song was great and a generous gesture. New drummer was also great. Can’t wait until next time around! Thanks guys x

Amber Run announce fourth studio album & 2023 Tour

' src=

British indie rock band Amber Run share plans to release their fourth studio album titled ‘How To Be Human’ on February 24th, 2023 via label TRIPEL along with a brand new 6-date UK tour culminating in London’s famous KOKO Venue in Camden. Presale tickets & physical album pre-orders can be purchased immediately via amber-run.com.

In addition to today’s exciting announcements, the indie-rock trio has released ‘The Hurt (Act III)’ – the final part of a trilogy of EPs that doubles as an expansive collection of songs that helped form the band’s upcoming album.

As far as album titles go, ‘How To Be Human’ might sound like a grand sentiment but, when you boil it down, it’s the purest conundrum of them all. How to be happy. How to be content. How to find peace within the world and, crucially, within yourself. They’re concerns that plague us all, and ones that were at the forefront of frontman Joe Keogh’s mind as Amber Run began to piece together their latest album. “You know those annoying emails you get that are like, ‘How to become a millionaire in one month’. ‘How to get abs in six seconds,” he chuckles. “I was like, I wish someone would just tell me how to get by and live on the centre line and how to just continue.”

The band will also be releasing the physical version of their ‘How To Be Human’ album around their newly announced tour dates on April 14th. They’ll be kicking off the tour at Newcastle University (April 13th) before crossing the Scottish border to play Glasgow’s ‘St. Luke’s’ (April 14th). The band will then return to where they formed in Nottingham to play ‘Rock City’ (April 15th), followed by pit stops in Manchester’s ‘Gorilla’ (April 18th) and Bristol’s ‘Thekla’ (April 19th) before closing their tour at London’s iconic KOKO venue on April 20th.

Three EPs – ‘The Search (Act I)’, ‘The Start (Act II)’ and ‘The Hurt (Act III)’ – have already been released, while the full LP will collate these offerings and complete them with new material. The band recently sold out their first Europe and North American tour dates, culminating in their biggest shows to date including London’s Roundhouse before signing to TRIPEL ahead of their forthcoming ‘How To Be Human’ album.

Amber Run are frontman/guitarist Joe Keogh, bassist Tomas Sperring and keyboard player Henry Wyeth.

Amber Run’s April 2023 Tour Dates (tickets) 13 – University (Newcastle, UK) 14 – St. Luke’s (Glasgow, UK) 15 – Rock City (Nottingham, UK) 18 – Gorilla (Manchester, UK) 19 – Thelka (Bristol, UK) 20 – KOKO (London, UK)

  • Hey! Thanks for having us. We’re a band called Amber Run, three best friends making music we love. Just as our first record was described, you can get a sense of the music we make if you imagine The Script, but a Primark version.
  • They’re all across the board. I think it’s fair to say Joe takes a lot of influence from folk music, Henry draws from Hip-Hop/R&B/Soul, and I’m a classic rock kinda guy.
  • It’s a bit of a post-coming-of-age story. I think there’s an era in a lot of people’s lives, post adolescence but pre mid-life, where you’ve been working at something for the whole of your twenties, but you start to question the journey and what’s next – what’s the purpose of it all. The title comes from receiving constant spam email guides titled How to become a millionaire in one month’ or ‘How to get abs in six seconds,” etc. Why is there not more of a focus on just How To Be Human?
  • Well the title track is kind of the mission statement, so a lot of the meaning is there. The Last Dance is a very intimate, personal love song
  • We approached this record slightly differently – written and recorded in the studio periodically over the course of a couple of years rather than all in one big chunk. I think we’ve all enjoyed that process immensely. Ben Allen is our wizard producer, adding all the beautiful ear candy and programming you hear, and Glyn Daniels has played drums on all of our releases after our first album – he is unmatched in his craft.
  • It’s better. More mature. And most importantly, filled with No.1 singles.
  • All over – I don’t want it to sound dull, but it’s relatable to everyday life in a personal sense. We write about our experiences – grief, loss, love, anguish.
  • We sure are – heading out on a UK tour this April, comprehensively listed here:
  • And we’re planning some shows a little further afield too. But that’s classified.
  • Touring and promoting the record, with some festivals sprinkled in. We’ll keep writing all along the way too.

Amber Run – The National Lottery’s United By Music Tour 2023

Amber Run are five young chaps, originally from Buckinghamshire, and formed towards the end of 2012.

The first thing they put online was a cover of Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek , which gave their burgeoning fan-base a glimpse of what to expect, with their four-part harmonies and expansive sound. The five-piece demonstrate their taste for space and melody.

They manage to strike a balance between stadium-sized rock and the intimacy and sentiment of folk music.

Do you ever feel like you don’t know what you’re doing in life? Sorry to get all deep here, but after listening to Amber Run’s newest album,  How To Be Human , you’ll understand the existential crisis we’ve put ourselves into. It’s okay. We’ll be fine (one day).

Made up of Joshua (Joe) Keogh, Tom Sperring, and Henry Wyeth, Amber Run has dominated our playlists since 2014 with their debut album, 5AM . We’ve seen them go through the ups and downs of life through their lyricism, with their newest project focusing on the changes that we make as we mature into the adults we’ve put the work into becoming.

Amber Run seems to have a track record of making music that makes our brain ask the deep stuff that keeps us up at 2AM, or maybe we’re just drawn to lyrics that make us think. Regardless of the reason, we can all agree that Amber Run’s music just makes us feel something, so there’s no surprise that we’ve had  How To Be Human  on repeat since its release! And if you’re wondering just how the trio conceived this gift of an album, we have all the details for you in our exclusive interview!

Your newest album, How To Be Human , seems like a needed manual that would have come in handy at 5AM or “for those moments when you all were lost.” What sparked the idea to tackle what could’ve been a massive undertaking with all the different ways to approach that question? It all came from being sat about when we were locked indoors and that listlessness started to kick in. This is by no means a definitive explanation for how to be human or anything like that, it’s our experiences, our feelings and the conclusions we came to. It’s more a journey we went on ourselves. What do you think is the most important quality that makes us human? The conclusion we came to – I think – is that all of us have doubts, all of us make mistakes, we all get scared and that’s fine. So if that’s what makes us human then you’ve got to learn to be able to forgive yourself, chase those things that excite you and try be nice while you’re doing it.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Amber Run (@amberrun)

You all had 3 EPs released before the album that touches on the same subjects that the album surrounds. What inspired you to release the projects this way and how did you decide what songs would be shared between EPs and the album? The three EPs were the journey that led us to a clearer understanding of the theme of the album. From realising that you aren’t happy with things, to chasing an opportunity that could lead to the start of something new, to the struggles that you’re likely to experience as you pursue change. It all culminates in the record. Now, picking the tracks for the album was a tricky one, but we settled with whoever won a big royal rumble got to pick them all. Just one big punch up. Interludes used to be a common occurrence, but it’s less seen now. What made you add those interludes to the album, and what do they bring to the story the album tells? We’ve always wanted to be an album act. We love albums, just locking in and following the artist’s journey for an hour or so, and some of our favourite tracks on albums are often the interludes between the key tracks. We had an opportunity to get back to that on this record and I’m really glad we did.

If each track on How To Be Human is a chapter in the manual and you only had the chance to learn a lesson from one song, which would it be and why? I mean if the album is a manual on how to be a human, then surely I have to pick the title track. It’s the only one that actively addresses that question and tells the audience our reading of it. Just go and do that thing you’ve been too nervous to do, and allow yourself to make mistakes. You may as well.

And, this project focuses on some heavier materials, especially the changes we undergo as we age! What’s one thing you’ve learned as an artist that would have helped you earlier in your career? One thing I wish I’d known earlier is that success is so, so relative. Whether you feel like you’ve achieved what you set out to do can almost always be read as a success or a failure. Don’t lose the long-term ambition obviously but if you’re not getting there as quick as you’d like just try give yourself a little pat on the back every now and then for those small wins. We’re so fucking fortunate to do what we do and I’ve become more conscious of that by trying to remember the relativity of success.

What song do you think your fans will connect to the most, and what do you hope they take away from this project? It’s always difficult to tell, you know. We’ve got some big upbeat ones like ‘The Beautiful Victorious’ and ‘How To Be Human’ which should be a proper moment when we get out on the road, but I know our fans love the slower ones. ‘The Last Dance’ might be my darkhorse for fan-favourite on the record.

Congratulations on your tour ! What track are you most excited to play live, and which has been the most challenging to translate to the stage? I always prefer to play some of our more energetic tunes, so ‘Hurt,’ ‘The Beautiful Victorious,’ and ‘How To Be Human’ are three of the main ones I’m most excited about. To be honest, though, I’m just excited to get back out on the road playing shows, it’s my favourite part of being in a band. I can’t wait.

An older single, ‘I Found,’ has been discovered by TikTok, which has brought a lot of old tracks back to life! What were your reactions when you caught wind of its viral success? That little puppy is the gift that just keeps on giving. Obviously it’s always great to reach a new audience and I guess somewhat affirming that – after what’s coming up to a decade – our music doesn’t sound dated for the next generation falling in love with music.

Till Lindemann of Rammstein announces 1st U.S. solo tour. Get tickets

Till Lindemann is leaving Rammstein behind in 2024.

Starting in September, the bombastic frontman will embark on his first solo U.S. tour with special guests Twin Temple and Aesthetic Perfection in support of his 2023 solo album “Zunge.”

Midway through the fall run, the 61-year-old drops into New York’s The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

While this will be Lindemann’s first solo stateside jaunt, it won’t be the first time he’s performed without Rammstein.

Most recently, he wrapped an international 2023-24 solo tour in Mexico, according to Set List FM . On that run, he regularly performed 19 songs — including two encores — per show.

While we can’t guarantee what he’ll bring to the stage on his forthcoming North American tour, we do know the best way to find out is live.

Ccan’t wait to see the lively Lindemann?

You’re in luck. Tickets can be snagged for all of his 2024 U.S. and Canada concerts and festival appearances as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 26, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

This September and October, Lindemann will lend his talents to a pair of heavy multi-day musical extravaganzas.

For a closer look, here are the dates, venues and fellow headliners at both festivals.

As noted above, Lindemann wrapped his 2023-24 in Mexico on Jan. 4.

Here’s what he performed that night, courtesy of Set List FM .

01.) “Zunge”

02.) “Schweiss”

04.) “Altes Fleisch”

05.) “Allesfresser”

06.) “Golden Shower”

07.) “Tanzlehrerin”

08.) “Ich weiß es nicht”

09.) “Sport frei”

10.) “Blut”

11.) “Praise Abort”

12.) “Platz Eins”

13.) “Fish On”

14.) “Gummi”

15.) “Steh auf”

16.) “Knebel”

17.) “Ich hasse Kinder”

18.) “Skills in Pills”

19.) “Entre dos tierras” (Héroes del Silencio cover)

On Nov. 3, 2023, Lindemann dropped his solo album “Zunge.”

Comprised of 11 tracks, the heavy rocker stretches his musical muscles and alternates between intimate quiet and chaotic, epic loud — the sound Rammstein is known for — with ease.

Highlights include the quirky “Sports Frei,” thumping “Altes Fleisch” and warbly anthem “Du hast kein Herz.”

Personally, we were most taken with the Ennio Morricone-esque “Tanzlehrerin” with its guitar licks, yearning vocals and gifted yet pained backing singer giving her all behind Lindemann.

Don’t sleep on the shockingly fun album closer “Selbst verliebt,” either. It’s an unexpected pop delicacy.

Want to hear for yourself?

You can listen to “Zunge” in its entirety here .

On Christmas 2023, Lindemann followed up the album release with the whirly, tongue trilling single “Entre dos tierras” en español.

It has our stamp of approval as well; the song is quite a bit of fun.

At all shows, Lindemann will be joined by a pair of opening acts.

To make sure you’re acquainted with their sounds, you can find each band’s most-streamed song on Spotify below.

Twin Temple: “Lucifer, My Love”

Aesthetic Perfection: “Spit It Out”

Lindemann was accused of sexual assault by a female fan last June over social media. She alleged he drugged her at a pre-show Rammstein VIP party in Lithuania and later approached her fox sex during intermission.

This led to backlash against Rammstein’s “VIP Experience;” fans believed Lindemann was using the ticket tier to bed fans.

After looking into the case, German prosectors dropped the case due to lack of evidence and testimony.

“The rapid termination of investigative proceedings by the Berlin state prosecutor’s office shows that there is insufficient evidence that our client allegedly committed sexual offen(s)es,” Lindemann’s lawyers said.

Rammstein drummer claimed Lindemann “has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble” and “things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don’t think are ok.”

If Lindemann’s brief jaunt isn’t coming to a venue near you, we have just the solution.

Here are five metal acts that might be headed to your city these next few months.

•  Limp Bizkit

American indie singer-songwriter d4vd has announced his first-ever run of Australian tour dates, with two intimate club shows booked in for this April.

  • READ MORE: Here are all the biggest concerts and tours coming to Australia in 2023

Dubbed ‘The Root Of It All’, the short tour will begin in Sydney on Monday April 3 –performing at Mary’s Underground – and wrap up at Melbourne’s Howler the following night, Tuesday April 4. It adds to a four-date US run that he announced last month, all shows on which have since sold out.

Tickets for the pair of Australian gigs will go on sale at 10am this Friday (February 24), with a Handsome Tours pre-sale running from the same time tomorrow (February 23) – see here for info on both sales.

The 2023 NME 100 artist rose to popularity with his debut single ‘Run Away’ , which was released in December of 2021. He followed it up with 16 standalone singles in 2022 – most notably with the hit ‘Romantic Homicide’ , which peaked at Number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since been certified Gold in the US and New Zealand (as well as Silver in the UK).

Its follow-up, ‘Here With Me’ , also did well on the charts – particularly in Switzerland, where it cracked the Top 10 and peaked at Number Seven. Last Friday, d4vd released his latest single ‘Poetic Vulgarity’ , which is expected to be part of his debut studio album to be released later this year.

d4vd’s 2023 Australian tour dates are:

APRIL Monday 3 – Warrang/Sydney, Mary’s Underground Tuesday 4 – Naarm/Melbourne, Howler

2024 RBC Heritage leaderboard: Scottie Scheffler nears fourth win in five starts with event to finish Monday

Weather prevented the final round from completing, but scheffler is well on his way to continuing his hot streak.

Scottie Scheffler's fourth victory in his last five tournaments will have to wait one more day. With the 2024 RBC Heritage experiencing more than a 2.5-hour weather delay Sunday, tournament action was unable to be completed before nightfall; it will instead leak into the work week. The final round at Harbour Town Golf Links will resume Monday at 8 a.m. ET with Scheffler holding a five-stroke lead at 20 under.

The world No. 1 is well clear of his nearest pursuer, Wyndham Clark, with three holes left in his tournament. Clark, meanwhile, is in the clubhouse at 15 under hoping for another runner-up check behind Scheffler. Others on the golf course like J.T. Poston, Patrick Cantlay and Sahith Theegala stand at that same number with holes to play.

Monday morning may only be a formality as Scheffler looks to be in control of just about everything -- like he has been the last two months.

Scheffler began Sunday in Hilton Head Island with one arm already slipped in the tartan jacket. Possessing a one-stroke lead, the Texan was crowned by many late Saturday evening despite the bevy of stars who had plans to upend him.

After knocking in a 6-foot par save on the 1st, Scheffler more or less turned those predictions into a reality. Chipping in for eagle on the par-5 2nd from long of the green (his 11th hole-out from off the green this season), Scheffler opened a three-stroke lead on the field and never looked back.

Charges were made by many, including a familiar foe in Clark, but none were that threatening. The reigning U.S. Open champion turned in 7-under 29 and tacked on another birdie on the 11th to get within one of Scheffler, but the pressure of perfection proved too much.

Hitting a tree with his second shot on No. 12, Clark's ball ricocheted out of bounds and led to a double bogey. Another dropped shot came on the following hole and all but secured another near miss from the U.S. Open champion.

Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg, Cantlay and Theegala all hovered on the first page of the leaderboard but never truly threatened. Instead, it was Patrick Rodgers who emerged as Scheffler's greatest threat thanks to an eagle-2 at the turn. A bogey a few holes later put an end to his Cinderella story.

Remaining in the wake of mistakes was a spotless Scheffler at 19 under, four ahead of the field. Turning in 3 under, the steadiest man in the game marched forward with a heavy diet of fairways and greens before a spell of thunderstorms halted his momentum on the par-4 12th.

Inclement weather was all that could stop Scheffler as the 27-year-old returned to the golf course more than two hours later and resumed his round without a hitch. While temperatures cooled and winds freshened, Scheffler was unaffected.

He picked off a birdie on the 13th to push his lead to five before a mud ball on the 15th led to his second finding the water on the par 5. It didn't matter as Scheffler launched a pitching wedge onto the surface, spinning it left and utilizing the slope to access the tucked pin. He avoided what would have been his first dropped shot since the 3rd hole on Thursday with an emphatic par save, and he will sleep easy Sunday night knowing five strokes separate him from the field and three holes separate him from victory.

Rick Gehman, Kyle Porter, Patrick McDonald and Greg DuCharme discuss Scottie Scheffler's hold on the RBC Heritage, Nelly Korda's fifth straight victory and Miles Russell finishing top 25 as a 15 year old. Follow & listen to The First Cut on  Apple Podcasts  and  Spotify .

Play called for evening

The final group is on the green on the par-5 15th meaning they will have three holes to play on Monday. Scottie Scheffler faces a par putt from 10 feet to maintain his five-stroke lead as he stands at 20 under.

Five clear with five to go!

The only thing that can stop him is the sunlight at this rate. Scottie Scheffler adds a birdie on 13 to get to 20 under and five clear of the crew at 15 under. Without the world No. 1 this tournament would be very, very good, but alas they are all fighting for first flight honors it appears.

Conditions are considerably harder for these guys. The wind has switched, it's about 10 degrees cooler and they are racing against the clock. Scottie Scheffler and Sepp Straka make par on No. 12 and head to the par-4 13th. Wyndham Clark posts the clubhouse lead at 15 under, four behind Scheffler.

Let's play ball!

Players are on the golf course and play is set to resume. Scottie Scheffler in the final pairing has about 7.5 holes remaining and one hour until sunset meaning this thing is probably going to leak into Monday unfortunately.

Play to resume at 7 p.m.

Coverage information, play to resume at 6 p.m. et.

The expectation is this thing will be finished today as the range is open and play is set to resume in 40 minutes at 6 p.m. ET. This will leave Scottie Scheffler a couple hours to complete just about seven holes as he left off in the middle of the 12th fairway with a four-stroke lead at 19 under.

Play suspended due to weather

The horn has sounded at 4:28 p.m. ET as a large weather system (with lightning) has engulfed Harbour Town. This comes as Scottie Scheffler stands in the 12th fairway with a four-stroke lead at 19 under over a number of pursuers up ahead of him on the golf course. Players are being brought back into the clubhouse as rules officials make an assessment on when play will return.

Rain comin' down hard

Scheffler turns in 33 with three-stroke lead.

Scheffler lets a chance slide by on the short ninth and will instead settle for a 3-under 33 on his front nine. It was highlighted by his eagle-3 on the par-5 2nd and Scheffler will head to the back side with a three-stroke edge.

Theegala thriving

Theegala cards four 3s in a row to end his front nine and get within four of Scottie Scheffler. Sahith spoke yesterday about how cool it is what Scheffler is currently doing and how it is a motivating factor for someone like him to get better. It's a great perspective and Theegala continues to get better and better, but it may not be enough this week as he is four behind with nine to go.
