You Can Actually Visit The CSI: Miami Headquarters Building

Do you think you know everything there is to know about " CSI: Miami ?" All right, hotshot, which famous actor was almost cast in the role of Horatio Caine before it went to David Caruso? 

If you answered, "Don Johnson," then you're correct. Johnson would've been a natural pick for the lead of the procedural series, especially seeing as how he used to star in another series based out of Florida — " Miami Vice ." Anyone who knew that also likely knows that the show doesn't primarily film in The Sunshine State. Certain scenes definitely come out of Miami, but they're primarily overhead shots of famous locales. For the most part, the show's based out of Southern California, so anyone hoping to do a "CSI: Miami" location tour would do best until they plan to head to the South Bay of Los Angeles. 

One place certainly worth visiting is the building to show uses to film headquarters. It's actually pretty easy to get to and check out if you know where to look.

The CSI: Miami headquarters building is actually an FAA Credit Union Building in Hawthorne, CA

You can search high and low for the "CSI: Miami" headquarters building in Miami, Florida, and you'll still come up empty-handed. That's because, like many television productions, filming doesn't actually occur on location where the show is set. It takes place predominantly around Southern California, particularly in areas like Long Beach and Manhattan Beach. If you want to find the iconic headquarters the cast spends a good chunk of time in, you'll want to head over to the city of Hawthorne. According to the Credit Union Times , "The headquarters of the $229 million FAA First Federal Credit Union recently played a role in the hit television program 'CSI: Miami' after the credit union allowed the program to film some of its episodes in the 35,000 square-foot space."

It's easy to see why a film production would want to utilize such a building. It has an incredibly unique architecture that stands out in the mind. Plus, sunny California looks awfully similar to Florida for most of the year, so it's not like most people would be able to tell the difference that the scene actually shot on the other side of the country. 

"CSI: Miami" isn't the building's only claim to fame. It was also used as the location for The Newport Group building in "The O.C."

Arts on Tour offers tiered ticket pricing. Individuals can purchase tickets with a Season Subscription, a Mini-Season Subscription, or on an Individual ticket basis.

2023-2024 Season Subscription

• Adult $211 (ages 18 - 62)
• Senior $185 (ages 63 and older)
• Youth $155 (ages 17 and under)

Season Subscriptions offer the highest discounts for patrons, and provides individuals with tickets to all performances throughout the season. In addition to the discounted pricing, ticket sales open for Season Subscriptions prior to those for the Mini-Season and Individual tiers, which provides for better seating options. Individuals with Season Subscriptions automatically have the same seats reserved for the next Arts on Tour season.

Mini-Season Subscription

Mini-Season Subscriptions allow individuals to customize their Arts on Tour experience by selecting between 4 - 6 performances they would like to attend. The Mini-Season tier provides a 15% discount (off Individual Adult ticket price) on all tickets purchased within this subscription and patrons are offered early access to purchase tickets, prior to them going on sale to the general public.

Individual tickets will go on sale to the general public shortly after Season Subscriptions and Mini-Season Subscriptions are made available. Individual ticket prices will vary among performances.

Dependent on availability, groups of 15 or more individuals are able to receive an 18% discount off Individual Adult ticket price. The Group discount may not be combined with any other discount or subscription. For Group sales inquiries and information please contact the CSI Box Office at 208-732-6588 .

*Note that ticket availability is limited for all tiers and pricing options.

Purchase Tickets

Tickets for the Arts on Tour can be purchased online, in person, or over the phone.

To purchase tickets online, visit tickets.csi.edu and log into or create an account.

To purchase tickets in person, visit the CSI Box Office located on the College of Southern Idaho’s Twin Falls campus at 315 Falls Avenue in the Fine Arts Center.

The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and one hour prior to Arts on Tour performances.

To purchase tickets over the phone, call the CSI Box Office at 208-732-6588 .

Phone lines for the Box Office are open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and all messages received are returned within two business days.

CSI: THE EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

Calling all crime scene investigator wannabes!

At CSI: The Experience you'll go through a series of steps that will get you thinking like a real investigator. See how science and critical thinking combine as you piece together the clues in one of three crime scene mysteries. There are a total of three murders and 15 suspects, so you'll really get your mind going.

Don't let the thought of science intimidate you. The attraction takes you through a series of steps to make it a fun and educational experience. You'll tap into everything from DNA and fingerprint analysis to forensic anthropology. 

If you're a true fan of "CSI" and see crime scene investigating as your true calling, this is one attraction not to be missed.

Taylor Building

The Taylor Administration building is named after CSI's first President James L. Taylor. You can see a bronze bust of 'Doc' Taylor as you come in the main southwest entrance. 

The CSI Student Union Building (SUB) , on the north side of the Taylor Administration Building, adds 30,000 square feet of student and community space to the campus. One of the departments housed in the SUB is Student Government. It is administered by the Associated Students of CSI which is controlled by a student senate elected from the student body. Other services include Admissions, Enrollment Services, and Student Counseling Services.

New library research guide: islamophobia and anti-arab racism.

The College of Staten Island Library has recently published the research guide, " On Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Racism ," written and compiled by Prof. Ashley Dirzis, Adjunct Librarian. This guide contains links to various organizations combatting Islamophobia and Ani-Arab racism, ways to report instances of bias and racism, and resources on how to request religious exemptions and accommodations. In addition to this, the guide lists physical books, eBooks, and documentaries about Islamophobia and Anti-Arab racism, all of which CSI students, faculty, and staff can access through their library logins .

Chris Pratt  is mourning his friend and longtime stuntman, Tony McFarr, who recently died unexpectedly at the age of 47. 

Speaking with ET's Kevin Frazier from the premiere of  The Garfield Movie  -- which releases in theaters on May 24 -- the 44-year-old actor opened up about his stunt double's death and emphasized why it is so important that stunt performers are finally getting their due credit after decades of hard work. 

"Man, Tony was as tough as they come," Pratt shared of his double from  Jurassic World.  "It's funny that it came that -- that news and his tragic passing came around the same time that [the movie]  The Fall Guy came out."

The Ryan Gosling -led film stars the La La Land actor as a stuntman tasked with saving the day after the actor he acts as a body double for -- played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson -- goes missing. Gosling and the film's crew members have described the movie as a "love letter to stunt workers."

"I think the stuntmen are having a real moment right now being honored and he deserves to be honored for his contribution and all stuntmen do for what they do," Pratt told ET. "They're the toughest dudes, they're the coolest dudes on set by far."

Over the weekend, Pratt  shared a tribute  to McFarr on his Instagram. "We did several movies together. We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set," Pratt wrote in an Instagram Story. "I'll never forget his toughness." 

"He was always a gentleman and professional," Pratt continued. "He'll be missed. My prayers go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter." 

McFarr died on Monday in his home in Florida. His death was confirmed by his mother, Donna, who first shared the news with  TMZ , saying her son was "active and healthy" and the death was "unexpected." His cause of death has not been released yet. 

In a statement to ET, the Orange County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that they have the case. "An exam has already taken place and cause/manner of death is pending toxicology results," the office said.

McFarr and Pratt first worked together on  Jurassic World  in 2015. The stuntman went on to double for Pratt in  Passengers ,  Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom , and, most recently,  Guardians of the Galaxy  2. Outside of his projects with Pratt, McFarr worked on  Bones ,  Homeland ,  Teen Wolf ,  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1 ,  Captain America: Civil War ,  The Accountant  and  Allegiant.

In a post shared from the set of  GOTG 2 back in 2016, Pratt introduced his fans to his stunt double and friend. 

"Here's me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set,"  the father of three  captioned the post. "Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you buddy! Happy wrap!"

Luxury Dormitories: Dolphin Cove Student Housing

Luxury residence halls, Dolphin Cove, have increased the College’s national and international desirability. More than 400 students can now live on campus in private bedrooms, with shared living space, study rooms, and laundry facilities. We offer these configurations: 4 bedrooms/2 bath, 3 bedrooms/2 bath, and 2 bedrooms/1 bath.
