Great experience with Blue Bay

What a great & extremely helpful company. We booked 10 days at Eriyadu Resort in the Maldives. They were always happy to answer any questions & the booking process was very easy. Particular thanks to Deborah Eardley. The resort & holiday was amazing & exceeded our expectations - we would definitely go back & would not hesitate to use Blue Bay Travel again. Excellant service, nothing was too much trouble

Booking a full package three centre/hotel tour of Bali with several changes of dates must of been a little arduous, but Tamzen did a great job to accommodate our changes and we feel elated we can now look forward to an Wedding Anniversary trip of a lifetime. 5 🌟's

Mexico 🇲🇽 Dreams

Hi all. I was interested in a special holiday for 2025. I made an inquiry with Kerry Miller who I found to be very knowledgeable on Mexico. This helped me to decide on the perfect location of cancun. Nicola Szymanowski above and beyond service!

Nicola answered our call back for a quote. She was professional, courteous and friendly and said she would call back when she had the info. She did this within minutes. Any questions we had were answered, and a very good quote was put forward which I am happy to say we took up. Nicola also booked our plane seats at the time do all we have to so is look forward to our holiday. We have used Blue Bay many times and they always give a great service, but Nicola Szymanowski went above and beyond in my eyes, even replying to my emails after she should have finished work after 10pm.

Cannot fault Izzie from start to finish. She was clear and concise in all our conversations explaining exactly what we needed to know …. and we got a great deal on our cruise

Whole thing was handled superbly and what a breath of fresh air it is to speak to someone so helpful. Thailand Multicentre Holiday

I just booked a holiday with Blue Bay…

I just booked a holiday with Blue Bay Travel, with an extremely helpful Jade Ashworth. The prices had changed for Eriyadu Island because the airlines had increased from the website prices, which was slightly frustrating. However, by changing the date and then getting direct flights (instead of lengthy layovers), we were actually able to get a better price. Thanks very much for all your help!

Great experience

Great experience from start to finish Jolie went above and beyond. She advised us on things we needed to know and sorted airport assistance keeping us informed at every stage. Would highly recommend she is an asset to the company.

Unbelievable Service

From the first phone call to book I spoke to and booked with Kerry the last 2 days I have had queries. Natasha handled my call from start to finish she was so professional and polite as she was dealing with a fossil when it comes to computers. Nothing was any problem she stayed on the line while I went on the links she sent me never felt rushed cannot thank her enough. Following day I had more problems with filling forms in I spoke to Chloe who was just as helpful and professional in dealing with my query. Excellent service, friendly staff who really care

I recently booked a holiday with Blue Bay, initially as it was a great deal with lots of cool features included, but I have to highlight just how pleasant it was to deal with the Blue Bay staff. Each person I dealt with was very friendly, took the time to really understand my questions and offered great advice and took effort to follow up where needed. I initially dealt with Lynda, and I had a few questions and options to go through with my initial booking, and Lynda was very patient and helpful, explained things well and worked hard to find the best options for me, and she was kind enough to answer some general questions I had about the location which she knew from experience. After the booking, I had some follow-up questions which Debbie handled. Debbie was also very friendly, took the time to understand my requests and then went to great effort to deal with the resort and come up with some solutions for me. I've dealt with a lot of travel-related customer service over the years but Blue Bay really stands out for this level of personal service they provide. It's especially remarkable considering how good their holiday deals are - normally I would have expected things like customer service to suffer in order for the company to be able to offer such great value deals, but my experience with Blue Bay has been more positive than any travel company I have ever worked with. The staff there are genuinely keen to make our holiday as good as possible, and the friendly, personal approach and effort were hugely appreciated. I highly recommend Blue Bay.

Lynda was fab

Lynda was friendly, experienced and quick. The call was answered quickly and I felt at ease. Lynda answered my many questions accurately and quickly and was very helpful.

Not what it was...

I've booked with this company 3 times in the past and thought it was a safe bet this year too. Not quite sure what has happened apart from lazy/ disinterested so called agents who don't even ask any questions to understand what you're looking for - robotic customer service is the best way of describing it. And that's if you manage to get through to someone, even when using their callback service! You can't even use the website search functionality as anything beyond 2 - 4 people in 1 room prompts you to get in touch! I did share my feedback and was connected with an agent who then didn't bother responding to emails and actually helped me miss a potential holiday of interest because of lack of responding to my messages. Thanks but no thanks - think I'll stick to DIY holiday booking from now on....

Great personalised service

I tried to book the holiday as it was a good deal however after getting the booking reference and calling Bluebay Travel the holidays had all gone straightaway and the system had crashed. After a time Bluebay called me back as a holiday had become available on the date we needed which was great and we booked it. Great service thank you to Nina at Bluebay.

Brilliant experience

From seeing the holiday in my emails to contacting David Coulter everything from start to finish was exceptional. The holiday went perfect from extra space seats to transfers to and from hotel was excellent. Any enquiries I had were dealt with quickly. Highly recommend this company. Excellent Service from Kevin Hall

The Personal Travel Consultant, Kevin Hall, was excellent, he answered all of our questions, was very knowledgeable about the resort and he price matched the website price including a promo code discount. He was also able to help us with room and transfer options which were not available on the website. Based on our booking experience we have high hopes for our holiday!

BBT - highly recommend

Spoke with Kerry on the weekend, told her I had no idea what I was doing to book a holiday. I gave her my budget, destinations I wanted to go etc. I had no idea what dates but needed it to tie in with a birthday, and she got back to me today, within an hour of her getting back to me, I’d put a deposit down and booked a holiday. I’m very impressed! This is only my 2nd time abroad, my first time being 14 years ago. I am very excited!!!! 😍 I will definitely use Kerry and BBT to book again. Maldives w/Blue Bay Travel

We just came back from a trip to the Maldives brokered by Leighton at Blue Bay Travel. I can't recommend this company enough. No frills, no hard sales but excellent customer service & follow up from start to finish. We had a fantastic holiday and as BBT indicated, there were no hidden extras, no surprise bills or service charges at the end of our week long All-Inclusive trip to Eryiadu Island. I can't imagine a better experience and I'm looking forward to working with them again. In the meantime I'm telling everyone I know to take a look Blue Bay Travel

Perfect from Start to Finish

Perfect from Start to Finish I was recommended this company by my Uncle and so glad I was. It was extremely tricky trying to decide where to go for our Honeymoon but after giving Kevin our wants and budget within a few hours he came up with the perfect place. Kevin was extremely helpful and able to answer every question we had (quite a few sorry Kevin!). Would definitely recommend this company to anyone not sure about where to go on holiday. Haven't travelled yet but expect it to be great :)

I do not appreciate being misled !!!

On Sept 12 at 15.43 I was called and advised that our Maldives outbound flight had been moved from Gatwick to Heathrow which was not a problem so I agreed to this amendment, had I been told that this new itinerary would involve a 4 hour stopover between flights I would have said NO !!! As a result of being misled I have now spent a great deal of time trying to resolve this problem including waiting for 34 minutes on the phone today to talk to their non existent customer service department as we are due to fly in 13 days time !!! The lack of customer support really lets this organisation down so if you book with them expect nothing but aggravation in return !!!!

From picking up the phone to the end of my booking, Stephanie was attentive, empathetic and more than helpful when I was booking our holiday. Everything I requested she endeavoured to fulfil. I suffer from travel sickness and she even put in my request for a front seat on out tour around Sri Lanka. I sincerely hope that this wish is adhered to as my holiday could be ruined otherwise.

I booked our holiday to Mauritius for 06/10/21 on 30/09/20 Received an email with subject title Errata on Friday 17/09/21 with less than 3 weeks to go, saying holiday is cancelled due to an operational change and I will be contacted within 14 days regarding issue of refund. No phone call, just this email with no explanation. Yet, I can go on Blue Bay website and the very same holiday we booked with exactly the same flights and hotel is available to book with one difference…the price is much much higher. Surely this is against ABTA code of conduct? I have yet to receive a reply to my email questioning the operational change and yet to receive any contact regarding our refund. Update…reassured by Lucinda from Customer Relations that our holiday was not cancelled due to pricing issues and refund arranged very promptly by Lucinda. Also, Lucinda has taken feedback on board that a telephone call rather than an email would have provided better customer care and service

I am pleased that we were able to establish that your booking was definitely not cancelled due to pricing issues, as the cost of your holiday would have been secured with the relevant hotel and airline, at the time of booking. We are very sorry that our customer service levels were not to our normal high standards on this occasion, as they have been impacted by numerous airline schedule changes, amendments to the travel traffic light system, as well as changes to COVID entry regulations from 01st October. Please be assured that following our call we will be looking at ways to improve some aspects of our communication. Holiday Cancellation due to Covid

I have had to deal with Blue Bay Travel many times during theast 18 months desperately trying to rearrange my honeymoon. Every time I spoke to any member of the team they were helpful, sympathetic, professional and informative. Unfortunately on this occassion we had to cancel due to the red list but the process to recieve a full refund is in place and Karen explained it fully to me. Can I also mention Imogen and there are many others whos names I have forgotten but I have found everyone extremely supportive in what must be their busiest and stressful times. Well done to all and I shall definitely be using you again and recommending to my friends and family.

Excellant service, nothing was too much trouble

Mexico 🇲🇽 Dreams

Nicola Szymanowski above and beyond service!

Nicola answered our call back for a quote. She was professional, courteous and friendly and said she would call back when she had the info. She did this within minutes. Any questions we had were answered, and a very good quote was put forward which I am happy to say we took up. Nicola also booked our plane seats at the time do all we have to so is look forward to our holiday. We have used Blue Bay many times and they always give a great service, but Nicola Szymanowski went above and beyond in my eyes, even replying to my emails after she should have finished work after 10pm.

Cannot fault Izzie from start to finish. She was clear and concise in all our conversations explaining exactly what we needed to know …. and we got a great deal on our cruise

Thailand Multicentre Holiday

I just booked a holiday with Blue Bay Travel, with an extremely helpful Jade Ashworth. The prices had changed for Eriyadu Island because the airlines had increased from the website prices, which was slightly frustrating. However, by changing the date and then getting direct flights (instead of lengthy layovers), we were actually able to get a better price. Thanks very much for all your help!

Great experience

Great experience from start to finish Jolie went above and beyond. She advised us on things we needed to know and sorted airport assistance keeping us informed at every stage. Would highly recommend she is an asset to the company.

Unbelievable Service

From the first phone call to book I spoke to and booked with Kerry the last 2 days I have had queries. Natasha handled my call from start to finish she was so professional and polite as she was dealing with a fossil when it comes to computers. Nothing was any problem she stayed on the line while I went on the links she sent me never felt rushed cannot thank her enough. Following day I had more problems with filling forms in I spoke to Chloe who was just as helpful and professional in dealing with my query. Excellent service, friendly staff who really care

I recently booked a holiday with Blue Bay, initially as it was a great deal with lots of cool features included, but I have to highlight just how pleasant it was to deal with the Blue Bay staff. Each person I dealt with was very friendly, took the time to really understand my questions and offered great advice and took effort to follow up where needed. I initially dealt with Lynda, and I had a few questions and options to go through with my initial booking, and Lynda was very patient and helpful, explained things well and worked hard to find the best options for me, and she was kind enough to answer some general questions I had about the location which she knew from experience. After the booking, I had some follow-up questions which Debbie handled. Debbie was also very friendly, took the time to understand my requests and then went to great effort to deal with the resort and come up with some solutions for me. I've dealt with a lot of travel-related customer service over the years but Blue Bay really stands out for this level of personal service they provide. It's especially remarkable considering how good their holiday deals are - normally I would have expected things like customer service to suffer in order for the company to be able to offer such great value deals, but my experience with Blue Bay has been more positive than any travel company I have ever worked with. The staff there are genuinely keen to make our holiday as good as possible, and the friendly, personal approach and effort were hugely appreciated. I highly recommend Blue Bay.

Lynda was fab

Lynda was friendly, experienced and quick. The call was answered quickly and I felt at ease. Lynda answered my many questions accurately and quickly and was very helpful.

Gemma was totally amazing

Gemma was totally amazing, she was so helpful and patient with my booking. I was booking for 4 of us, and at each stage had to keep checking with the other 3 people. We are now very excited to be going to Tobago.

Excellent service, friendly staff who really care

I recently booked a holiday with Blue Bay, initially as it was a great deal with lots of cool features included, but I have to highlight just how pleasant it was to deal with the Blue Bay staff. Each person I dealt with was very friendly, took the time to really understand my questions and offered great advice and took effort to follow up where needed. I initially dealt with Lynda, and I had a few questions and options to go through with my initial booking, and Lynda was very patient and helpful, explained things well and worked hard to find the best options for me, and she was kind enough to answer some general questions I had about the location which she knew from experience. After the booking, I had some follow-up questions which Debbie handled. Debbie was also very friendly, took the time to understand my requests and then went to great effort to deal with the resort and come up with some solutions for me. I've dealt with a lot of travel-related customer service over the years but Blue Bay really stands out for this level of personal service they provide. It's especially remarkable considering how good their holiday deals are - normally I would have expected things like customer service to suffer in order for the company to be able to offer such great value deals, but my experience with Blue Bay has been more positive than any travel company I have ever worked with. The staff there are genuinely keen to make our holiday as good as possible, and the friendly, personal approach and effort were hugely appreciated. I highly recommend Blue Bay.

Lynda was fab

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
