I have used Mango Tours several times during my travels to the Philippines. In fact, it is a lot cheaper for you to reserve your local tours in different islands when you land. Booking them from the states can sometimes cost you more $$!! If you are unsure of where to go, and have not made prior reservations, I suggest paying a visit to Mango Tours. Their agents are very knowledgeable, and can get you deeper discounts because they can build packages that are local and have real time information. If you decide to go to Boracay Island, the best time to go especially if you are traveling on a budget is during the Month of March (super hot though because it's summertime). Go one week before Easter week (April), and it even gets cheaper because all the locals are busy planning for the holy event, Easter. I was able to book a trip to Boracay Island with Mango Tours for about $200 USD for a 4 night stay, with a 4 star accommodation including round trip air from Manila. You can also include your meals which is extra, but it still very inexpensive. Until then, Cheers & Mabuhay! ~ :p
We were trying to rebook my mom's flight back from SFO to MNL. Her original return date was the 2nd week of June, and we wanted her to extend until September because of the covid situation in the Philippines. They were quick to reply via email and the price for rebooking was insane so they suggested to just buy a one way ticket instead (pic shown). I was about to agree with the price but my mother vehemently said no as it was too expensive. I then tried calling PAL directly if they could give me a better price, or maybe I was just looking for someone to vent my frustrations for these prices. PAL customer service eventually answered and with no fuss, I was able to rebook my mother's return flight from June to September with NO additional cost!!!! I was told that this is a one time courtesy rebooking/flight change and if I have to rebook again, then I would have to pay. I received the e-ticket as soon as I got off the phone. I received the price quote from Mango tours yesterday and called PAL the following day. I haven't received any follow up email from mango tours regarding any price changes. So imagine if I agreed to pay almost $1k for a ticket only to find out that there is no out of pocket cost for a one time rebooking? We thought that travel agencies give you a better price for airfare and travel packages than going directly to hotels and airlines. Better check with your airline directly to avoid paying non existent fees. I could not believe the audacity of this travel agency to charge ridiculously insane prices with the current covid situation in the Philippines. Shame on you, mango tours!
