Followed by a trip
When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.
And finally, a review
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Want to discover one of the most beautiful regions of France, the Loire Valley, with its castles and vineyards... The easiest option is to rent a car to adapt your program to your desires. Here is our complete guide to renting a car in Tours ,
- rental places (train stations...)
- choice of car,
- choice of the car rental agency in Tours,
- find the best prices,
- driving tips,
Renting a car in Tours - introduction
- Tours is an excellent destination to discover the Loire Valley and its castles
- Your arrival in Tours can be confusing because there are 2 train stations - we explain everything in our tip 1
- Tours also has a small private airport with 2 rental agencies with very limited opening hours.
- You will find classic brands. The biggest agencies are Avis and Sixt.
- At the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps train station, the offices of the rental agencies are located just outside, on the square (see tip 16)
- And from this station, you can quickly get on the highway to leave the city.
- And returning the car is easy (see tip 20)
Take advantage of the offers on our preferred platform Discovercars
#1 to 3 - Choose your car rental agency in Tours (train station, airport...)
Tip 1 - know where to rent and what agencies are available (station, city, airport).
The offer of rental cars in Tours is quite confusing. Here's what you need to understand.
Tours has 2 train stations:
- The Tours train station is located in the city center
- The Saint-Pierre-des-Corps TGV (high speed train) station is located on the outskirts of the city
Trains from Paris arrive at the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps station. But frequent connections allow you to reach both stations in only 5 minutes by train.
The easiest way is to rent a car at the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps train station. The 2 main agencies are:
- Alamo/Enterprise/National
It seems to us that Avis and Sixt are the 2 biggest agencies in the city of Tours, overall. Good choice of cars.
Some agencies are also scattered in the city like Hertz.
And there are also 2 agencies at the small airport: Avis and Europcar, but they are only open on certain days.
And finally, there are also rental companies south of Tours, in a suburb called Chambray-lès-Tours: Avis, Sixt, Rent-a-car...
Whether it is on platforms such as Discovercars.com or directly with the rental companies, always check the pick-up location.
Tip 2 - Compare prices and conditions
We always compare prices immediately at Discovercars.com . It is one of the highest rated comparison sites in the market, and our favorite.
What we like:
- very good deals even with international brands
- a super easy to use platform that allows you to compare many brands
- many filters to find offers that match our needs: number of drivers, age, agencies...
- a very interesting insurance option that will cover you in case of damage to the exterior of the car - the reimbursement is very fast, we had the opportunity to test it after an impact on the windshield!
See their current car rental offers in Tours.
Tip 3 - Which rental agency to choose
There is no "best" rental agency. They all have advantages and disadvantages. To choose, we advise you to consider:
- Pick-up location (at the train station or in the city)
- availability of the type of car you need
- cancellation policy
- authorized mileage
- notes and opinions - but take with a pinch of salt - analyze negative comments. Is the agency really bad or is it people who didn't ask about the conditions beforehand (e.g. security deposit) or who didn't take out insurance?
On the Discovercars. com platform, each rental agency has a 10 point rating (given by real customers). You can use the filter to keep only the best.
Subscribe to our Newsletter
- Get away from it all with Region Lovers' beautiful destinations!
- Once a month

#4 to 7 - Choosing your rental car and extras
Tip 4 - what size car to choose.
We advise you to choose a car that:
- has a trunk big enough for your luggage, so that it is not visible if you are on a road trip
- is not too wide, as some villages and old town centers have narrow streets and we don't want you to stress
- is not too long if you don't like to do slots. French parking spaces seem very small to Americans, Canadians and Australians.
Power level, no particular advice, the roads around Tours and in the Loire valley are quite easy.
Tip 5 - What transmissions are available
Most cars for rent in France have a manual transmission. Some rental agencies have automatic cars, but few. We recommend that you book early. At Discovercars.com , you can use the "Automatic Transmission" filter on the left, if this is a must for you.
Tip 6 - Child Seat Rules in France
Children under 10 years of age must be seated in a special seat in the back of the car.
Tip 7 - GPS
The GPS options offered by car rental companies are often very expensive. We do not recommend them. Your best options:
Use your phone - but be careful! If you have a phone, keep in mind that roaming charges abroad can be very high. However, you can download a map in advance, when you are connected to the wifi, so you can navigate without spending money. Don't forget your phone charger and holder to keep it comfortable!
Bring your own GPS This way you know how it works and you can enter all the destinations in advance, which saves a lot of time.

#8 to 10 - Car rental in Tours: the price
A budget: how much does it cost to rent a car in france.
To give you an idea, Discovercars.com lists the following information:
- There are large variations throughout the year
- Average prices vary from 30 to 90 Euros per day
- The cheapest prices are usually for a trip at the end of the year
- The highest prices are from June to August
It is very easy to compare prices online on a platform. And if you're comparing between sites, don't forget to check for any hidden fees. You have to compare what is comparable with the same options and conditions.
Tip 8 - When to rent a car in Tours
As soon as you have chosen your dates, book the car! Tours and the Loire Valley are very popular destinations, especially during July and August. No last minute offers in summer. If you want to have a choice of cars and good prices, we advise you to rent your car as soon as possible.
Tip #9 - How to cut costs, find a cheap rental
First of all, let's be honest: you can't have it all, the ultra-low price, the best service in the world and the brand new car... There is always a balance between price, quality and service.
To reduce the cost of your car rental in France , we advise you to:
- Reserve a smaller car
- Choose a rental with no cancellation or with limited cancellation
- Return the car to where you picked it up
- Pay attention to the start and end times of the rental (usually charged in 24-hour increments).
- If you are renting for 6 days, check the price for 7 days - sometimes companies have a discount for one week rentals - but this is less and less the case
- Book with limited mileage
- Compare prices on Discovercars , they often have great deals.
Tip #10 - Factor in the cost of an extra driver
Decide in advance whether or not you will need more than one driver. It is better to compare the prices with a 2nd driver included, to have a real comparison. Some companies offer deals with an extra driver for free. On the Discovercars. com platform, if available, it can be selected on the filters.
#11 to 13 - Conditions to rent a car in Tours
Tips 11 - permits to rent a car in france.
To drive legally in France (on vacation / short trip), you can use a standard international driving license, i.e. with:
- a license number,
- a photograph,
- a validity date,
- and written in Latin letters.
The following permits are therefore valid: EU, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland...
But if you have any doubts, bring your international driving license. This gives you peace of mind.
Tips 12 - Age and years of driving
The legal age to drive alone in France is 18. However, most car rental agencies in France :
- require you to be at least 21 years old
- require that you have held a driver's license in your home country for one year or more
- may add fees if you are under 25 or over a certain age.
It is best to make sure you read all the fine print.
On the Discovercars. com platform, you can enter your age range to see the limitations and additional fees right from the start:
Tip #13 - Credit card capable of handling holdback
We'll look at the insurance issue later. But from now on, keep in mind that the agency will ask you for your credit card to hold a deposit (unless you have taken a no-deductible insurance).
This deposit is held on your card (until the car is returned undamaged), which limits your ability to pay (weekly or monthly limits). So make sure to:
- Use another credit card for the deposit fee,
- or contact your bank before you travel to change your limits,
- or purchase comprehensive insurance with a 0 deductible.
Is this a concern for you? See what is possible with the "security deposit" filter on the Discovercars.com platform:
#14 to 15 - Choosing your insurance
Tip #14 - what insurance should i take out.
The compulsory insurance in France is the civil liability insurance (RC - Third Party Liability) . It covers personal and property damage to cars and other people's property and even medical expenses. It is included in the price of the rental car.
But it is possible to take out additional insurance that limits your liability during the rental period and reduces the maximum amount you will have to pay in case of damage (sometimes down to 0). This is the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW ).
It's up to you to decide how much financial risk you're willing to take versus how much you're willing to increase the price of the rental.
Tip #15 - How to Buy Insurance
If you decide to take out additional "insurance" to reduce the cost in case of an accident, you can:
- Use your current insurance Some credit cards and auto insurance offer rental car coverage. But read all the fine print to understand what is and isn't covered, because it is often very narrow.
- Subscribe at the time of reservation When booking, you have the possibility to select the options. The offers are most of the time better than at the counter. On the agency sites, you get the dealer's insurance, but on the platforms, you get special insurance created by the platform. For example, on Discovercars. com, they have their own "Full Coverage Waiver" insurance option. We find it very advantageous and use it.
We tested Discovercars insurance after an impact to the windshield. Like all platform insurances, we had to pay the rental company ourselves for the damage repair (this is one of the reasons for their low price), but we filed all the paperwork directly afterwards and the reimbursement by Discovercars was full and fast. No worries!
- Subscribe at the counter to the car rental This is the most expensive option.
- Purchase travel insurance Purchase travel insurance that includes comprehensive car rental insurance from one of the traditional insurance companies.
#16 to 18 - Recovering the car
Tip 16 - access to the rental companies at the tours / saint-pierre-des-corps train station.
It is very easy to pick up your car from the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps train station. Just follow the signs showing a car with a key on top.
You then leave the station and find yourself on a large square. On the right you will find different stores with rental agencies.
Tip #17 - Check your vehicle at pickup
Although scams are not common, they do happen. For peace of mind, we advise you when you take over the car:
- Take a detailed tour of the car either with an agent or with the form. If they don't give you anything, take a look around anyway and go back to the counter if you notice anything.
- Take pictures of any problematic details (scratches, dents...). Even if they tell you it's too small to count.
Don't forget:
- roof the exterior of the car to detect dents and scratches.
- the roof - this is often forgotten, but it may be checked when you return.
- the underside of the bumper
- the back of the mirrors
- the condition of the tires
- the spare wheel
- the interior (especially the seats)
- Fuel level and mileage (which must match the record)
Tip #18 - Make sure the mandatory equipment is in the car
In France, the following equipment must be available in the car:
- Warning triangle
- Reflective vest or jacket for at least 1 person
- Spare tire (recommended - but not required)
A LITTLE MORE patience
All the photos, maps, information, good addresses to make your stay in the Loire Valley a success, will soon be gathered in a single ebook!
If you wish to be informed of the publication of our guide on the Loire , register:
#19 to 20 - Return the car
Tip #19 - refueling.
More and more agencies now have a system where you have to return the car with the same level of fuel (not full to full but same to same). It's very annoying, but it's more manageable for them. Therefore, you need to understand how much the car consumes and how many kilometers/miles you have left, if you don't want to waste money.
Tip #20 - Return the car
Each agency will tell you where to return the car. It is in the parking lots around the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps train station. There are signs.
If, like us, you like to have peace of mind, drop the car off during opening hours. This way, the controls are validated in front of you. If this is not possible, take pictures of the car before you drop it off.
Don't be stressed. If you've hired a reputable company and follow the rules, everything should go smoothly.
#21 to 25 - Driving in the Loire Valley
Tip #21 - understand traffic rules and conditions.
Here are the essential French rules of conduct:
- Right-hand traffic
- Seatbelt is mandatory for all
- If an intersection does not have a sign or ground sign, you yield the right of way to the person coming from your right (see Tip 23)
- Tolerated blood alcohol level of 0.05%.
- You are not allowed to turn right at a red light, as is possible in some countries
- The horn is only allowed in case of immediate danger (but the French like to forget this rule)
Tip #22 - Observe speed limits
The speed limits indicated in the red circle, normally:
- 30 to 50km/h in the city,
- 80km/h on roads between cities,
- 130km/h on highways
Be careful, there are a lot of radars in France.
Tip #23 - Know the French "Priority on the Right
Attention! This is a rule that confuses many people. Many intersections have a light, stop sign or yield sign. It's classic and easy. But in some French cities, many crossings may have no indication. We then apply priority to the vehicle coming from the road on the right (even if this road seems much less important).
Tip #24 - What to do if you damage the car
If you damage your rental car, start by contacting the car rental agency. Then it depends on the insurance option you choose:
- basic insurance: you will have to cover the damage up to your deductible.
- full coverage with the agency: check with them and the damage should be covered.
- Discovercars.com insurance: contact them and provide all the information (within 28 days of the car deposit). They will reimburse you for the fees and costs associated with the damage, if warranted.
- your own insurance company: contact them and provide all the information. They will reimburse you for the fees and costs associated with the damage, if they are justified.
Tip 25 - What to do in case of an accident
If people are injured or if there is a conflict, the emergency number in France is 112 :
The best order of action is
- contact the emergency services (only if there are injuries)
- contact the police (only if there are injuries or a conflict)
- contact your rental company.
But don't stress, take your time and enjoy the scenery!

It’s no secret that rental car prices have skyrocketed since travel has rebounded. With higher demand and lower supply after most car rental companies sold off their fleets during the pandemic, finding an affordable rental car has become one of the more challenging aspects of travel lately. Enter Turo, a car sharing service that’s an alternative way to rent a car.
On a recent extended family vacation, I found myself needing to rent a car 4 times. After plenty of research, I rented from a traditional rental car company (Hertz) twice and Turo for the other 2 rentals.
Over the course of my 2 Turo rentals, I feel like I got to experience a little bit of everything (good and bad) that the platform offers. I had 1 host that canceled on me, 1 that I never saw, and 1 that was extremely hands-on.
Except for the canceled reservation (which apparently is common), I enjoyed my experience with Turo, but it is not without its flaws.
Let’s take a look at Turo, my experience, and how to make your next rental better.
Turo is a peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace where owners can list personal cars and other people can rent them. Put simply, Turo is “the Airbnb of car rentals.”
The website is intuitive and easy to use and has an unparalleled variety of cars to choose from — a far cry from the standard airport rental car fleets.
The Turo platform has exploded in popularity recently and has become a serious disruptor in the rental car industry.
Not only are the prices good for renters, but hosts have also found this platform extremely lucrative, often renting multiple cars at a time.
How Do Turo Prices Compare to Rentals?
Prices are set by each car’s owner, so prices can vary greatly. That being said, more often than not you can find a better car for less money on Turo compared to a traditional rental car company.
Let’s run an example search for a week in June in Boston. Hertz had the best prices compared to other rental car companies, so I will use them as a base.
Hertz (1 week estimated total, cancellable rate, without insurance)
- Small sedan, Ford Focus or similar : $771.84
- Large sedan, Chevrolet Malibu or similar : $836.19
- Small SUV, Nissan Rogue or similar : $1,093.60
- Medium 5-passenger SUV, Chevrolet Equinox or similar : $1,275.32
Turo (1 week estimated total, cancellable rate, without insurance)
- Small sedan, Toyota Corolla Hybrid : $597
- Large sedan, Audi A6 : $720
- Small SUV, Tesla Model Y : $820
- Medium 5-passenger SUV, BMW X6 : $910
As you can see, not only can you save money by renting with Turo, you can often get a much nicer car as well. Plus, you can see pictures of the exact car you are renting, so there are no (well, fewer) surprises.
Of course, this isn’t considering perks from traditional rental car companies like National or Hertz where you can pick your own car or earn loyalty points on rentals. But simply comparing cash rates (without insurance), Turo wins.
Turo does not have a referral program for first-time renters, and Turo warns that third-party promo codes are unauthentic. However, occasionally, Turo will email members promo codes, so look for those.
While hosts often offer trip discounts for rentals that are 3+, 7+, or 30+ days long, if you want an additional discount, keep an on your Amex Offers .
Insurance is not included with your Turo rental , and that extra cost can add up.
There are many travel credit cards with car rental insurance , and some will even offer primary coverage. However, most do not offer coverage for ride-sharing companies like Turo.
The official Turo personal insurance requirements are pretty thorough. As a renter, you have a few options which vary based on your location:
- Premier Plan : 65% to 100% of the trip price with a minimum of $14 per day
- Standard Plan : 40% of the trip price with a minimum of $12 per day
- Minimum Plan : 18% of the trip price when the trip price is $250 or more with a minimum of $10 per day, or 25% of the trip price when the trip price is less than $250 with a minimum of $10 per day
For a real-world example, the Tesla Model Y listed above had 2 insurance options:
- Standard Plan : $47 per day
- Minimum Plan : $21 per day
Those extra insurance costs can drastically change the final price of your rental, so be sure to click all the way through the rental process before making your final decision.
As Turo becomes more and more popular, I wouldn’t be surprised to see premium travel cards start offering this type of insurance to differentiate their product.
My Experience
As I mentioned above, I rented a car using Turo twice during a recent trip: once in Boston and again in Honolulu.
The rental process is extremely easy. The only difference from a traditional rental company was the pickup and drop-off experience, which varies by the host (owner).
To book a car with Turo, you can use the Turo app ( iOS , Android ) or Turo.com to enter your rental location and dates, and then you can filter your options by price, car type, year, host rating, and more.
The process is quite simple and you will be presented with a list of results with photos of the cars, ratings, number of trips, and prices, as well as a map of where the car is located.
Once you find a car that fits your needs, simply select it, confirm the dates and pick-up and return location, and continue with the booking process.
At checkout, you will be presented with extras that the host may offer, such as extra miles, prepaid fuel, or delivery. This is also where you will select your desired insurance plan.
Once everything looks good, click Book this trip and your card will be charged immediately . In most situations, you can cancel for free up to 1 day before your rental.
I booked using my American Express Blue Sky ® Card because it was my only Amex that had a targeted Amex Offer to spend $150 and get $30 back . The charge was coded as transportation, so using a card that earns bonus points or cash-back on transit, such as the Blue Cash Preferred ® Card from American Express , is a good option.
One of the positives, but also negatives, about renting with Turo is that you are essentially at the mercy of individual hosts.
As is common with Airbnb, if a Turo host realizes that they have underpriced their car for a certain period (such as a holiday or big event), they can simply cancel the reservation and list their vehicle again at a higher rate.
This happened to me with my first rental in Boston.
I booked a Tesla Model 3 for 1 week over Christmas. It was the least expensive Tesla available during my trip, but within $20 of the next option. A few days after booking, the host reached out to me saying that he made a mistake with the price and wanted to see if I would be willing to pay more as an alternative to him canceling on me and relisting.
I politely told him that I wasn’t willing to pay extra. He responded, apologized, and said don’t worry, he would honor the price — only to cancel the reservation 2 hours later.
Of course, in order to book a similar car, it was now more expensive. So I got in touch with Turo support , which was surprisingly easy.
They initially offered me a credit of $115.83 as they said that was the maximum they could offer without supervisor approval. Since that wouldn’t cover the difference of the new rental, I asked for the issue to be escalated and the next day a Travel Credit of $185.21 was approved.
The only negative with the Turo support was that the final booking needed to be made via phone in order to add the Travel Credit, probably so I wouldn’t use it towards a cheaper car, I assume.
Overall, sometimes you get a good host, other times you may not be so lucky. This was not an ideal experience for my first rental, but Turo made it right.
Unlike a traditional rental car company, there is no fixed location to pick up your Turo rental.
Instead, each host creates their own policy which is highlighted in the listing. In most situations, the host will provide an address where you can pick up the car. However, many will provide the option to have the car dropped off (sometimes for a fee), which may be worth it, depending on your needs — like arriving at an airport.
For my 2 (completed) reservations, I had 2 very different experiences with hosts.
Remote Pickup
For my first reservation, I never saw or spoke with the host — which was admittedly odd for me, as I didn’t really know how the process was supposed to work.
The host simply gave me an address, which was a parking spot near a train station in Boston. I texted the host when I found the Tesla and he unlocked the car remotely for me. I found the key card in the console, took some pictures (which is recommended), and was on my way.
At the end of my reservation, I parked the car on the same street, took some pictures, and texted the host. That was the extent of my contact with him.
For my second reservation, it was the exact opposite experience, as the host was extremely hands-on.
The Tesla that I selected during our trip to Oahu had a pickup option, but it was far from our hotel in Waikiki, so I paid for the $30 delivery fee which was an option in the Extras section of the reservation. Yes, grabbing an Uber would have been a little bit cheaper, but we were on vacation and it wasn’t worth the extra hassle.
The host showed up at the agreed time (we chatted a lot via the Turo app), we took some pictures, he gave me a very complete overview of the car, and even upsold me another extra service (more on that below).
This car was immaculate and the host asked us to not eat or drink in the car, so taking plenty of close-up photos was necessary to avoid any potential damage issues in the future.
Charging a Tesla
For the first Tesla I rented in Boston, I simply charged it at public chargers or at my mom’s house during the week that I had it.
The charging infrastructure in the area was pretty good, so finding a charger was not really an issue. If I opted to use an official Tesla Supercharger, the host would be charged and then pass the charge along to me.
However, for my second Tesla rental, on Oahu, I rented the car for only 2 days so that we could explore the island, drive to the North Shore, and do some hiking. That meant that there was very little downtime to charge the car, if needed.
We were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki , which offers parking for $45 per night ($55 for valet), plus charging stations available for $2.20 per hour. So that meant I would need to first, be lucky enough to find an available charger, and second, pay for a few hours (at least) of charging. That would be at least an additional $55 per night.
So when the host offered to pick up the car each night and charge it for $45, it was a no-brainer. I simply texted him when I was returning to the hotel and he picked up the car, brought it home, washed it, charged it, and returned it to the hotel in the morning! All for $45, which saved me time and money.
Plus, with this arrangement, we realized we didn’t need the car on the morning of the final day, so he kept the car which saved us a night of parking/charging.
At the end of the trip, the host added the extra charge via the Turo app, and I accepted and paid.
6 Tips for Success With Turo
If you are researching rental car prices and are shocked at how much traditional car rental companies are charging, you may find yourself looking at Turo for the first time — as I did.
This relatively new platform can be an excellent option for someone who is looking to save some money or rent a vehicle not commonly found at your local airport car rental company. That being said, it is not perfect, but with the right expectations, it can be a great experience.
Just like you would read reviews of a host on Airbnb, reading the Turo host reviews can give you a good idea of the person you will be dealing with.
The review section will also show if the host has canceled reservations in the past. Too many cancellations can be a red flag.
While the base price of cars on Turo is often cheaper than traditional car rental companies, there are additional fees that you should factor in to get a true final price.
Charges like insurance and pickup/dropoff fees, which you otherwise aren’t used to paying, might end up costing you more than a rental company like Hertz.
If something goes wrong with your reservation, don’t be shy about using customer service.
I had an issue with my first rental that was going to leave me spending an extra $200 to get the same car. After a quick chat with Turo customer service, they took care of it!
Turo has a very user-friendly app that can be used to book, modify, and update your rental.
The app has a messaging feature that is a great way to get in touch with your host if you need anything. Plus, you can easily add photos of your rental to document the state of the car at the beginning and end of your rental.
Since you know exactly what type of car you will be getting when you rent with Turo, you can do research about the car if you are unfamiliar.
This was my first time driving a Tesla, so I familiarized myself with the basics before my rental. This saved me time on my vacation as I was able to jump in and drive off.
When you rent with Turo, you are using someone else’s car. While a tiny scratch may not be a big deal to the major car rental companies, it may be to certain owners.
Taking lots of pictures when you pick up and drop off the car can protect you in case a host wants to charge you for damage. Having proof and uploading directly to the Turo app could save you lots of headaches.
Overall, I really enjoyed my 2 rental experiences with Turo.
While far from perfect, being able to rent specialty vehicles at relatively reasonable prices was great for the times that I needed a car.
Moving forward, I will continue to search for airport rentals from companies like Hertz and National first, but will also compare prices with Turo. If I can get a similar car for less money (even with insurance and delivery), I would certainly rent from Turo again.

Tours car hire information
Cheap car hire in tours, kayak’s top tips for hiring a car in tours.
- When you get a car hire in Tours, you will get more flexibility with your journeys than if you opt for alternative modes of transport such as taxis, buses or trains. This is because you can take your Tours car hire to many locations at the click of your fingers and you don’t have to work your plans around public transport schedules. For example, if you want to drive to the riverside town of Saumur it takes about 50min in your car and you can leave whenever you want. Whereas if you’re completing the journey with public transport it will take over 1 hour and you’ll have to stick to the train timetable.
- Tours Val de Loire Airport (TUF) has lots of car hire companies for you to pick from, such as Avis and Europcar, so you will find it easy to get a vehicle for your trip. These two car hire agencies are also easy for you to find upon arrival. They are located in the car park that is directly in front of the terminal building. The offices are also open to conveniently account for flight arrival times too.
- When you get a car hire in Tours you will see that the town is very popular with both students and tourists. The centre can get very busy during term time and also the summer, with people crossing the road in locations that aren’t official pedestrian crossings. For this reason it’s important you stay alert when driving your Tours car hire through the town. Tours also has lots of cycle paths, with the Loire Valley Cycle Route going through it. Not all cyclists will be on the cycle paths though, so it’s important you check your mirrors before making a turn.
- When you get your Tours car hire you will find that driving in the centre comes with its difficulties. This is because the roads are narrow and busy during peak times, which can be challenging when you’re in a new car and unfamiliar surroundings. Rush hour is also a time to avoid being on the road, with traffic tending to be busier from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. One road that can get very busy during these times is Quai Paul Bert, so if possible you should try and find an alternative road to travel on.

Car thieves posing as rental staff steal multiple vehicles from Upstate NY airport, police say
- Published: Apr. 23, 2024, 5:08 p.m.
- Sunny Hernandez | [email protected]
Multiple travelers at an Upstate New York airport looking to drop off their rental car, handed the keys over to thieves posing as employees of the rental companies, police have reported.
According to 13WHAM , the Monroe County Sherriff’s Office said nine vehicles have been stolen from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport since the beginning of the year.
Eight of those stolen cars were rentals. Authorities said people posing as rental car employees approached customers asking for the keys to their rental cars as they were returning them.
One stolen vehicle belonged to an actual employee, parked in the rental lot. Eight of the cars have been recovered.
The most recent theft happened on March 16, 2024.
Deputies arrested four people in connection to these thefts, RochesterFirst reported. Of those arrested, Breanna Brummond, age 33; Nicholas Morales, age 32 and Esu Edwards, age 43 reportedly used these cars during larcenies and robberies in Rochester and Irondequoit.
The three suspects were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. A fourth person was arrested, but their identity and charges have yet to be released.
Andy Moore, the Airport Director, said they have not had any recent thefts since they implemented new security measures and will continue to work with MCSO and the car rental companies to prevent more thefts from happening.

15 injured in tram accident at Universal Studios
A group of amusement park visitors were injured Saturday evening in a Universal Studios tram accident near Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. PT Saturday and transferred 15 patients to hospitals with minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol said a tour was underway at the studio in Universal City and the tram was making a turn following the "Jurassic Park Cars" attraction.
"Due to unknown reasons, while negotiating the turn onto Avenue M, the last car of the tram collided with a metal guardrail on the right side of the roadway causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram," the agency said.
The injuries were evaluated as "minor to moderate," the highway patrol said. Neither drugs nor alcohol are being considered as factors.
A spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood confirmed the accident in a statement and said a tram collided with a guard rail while it was turning left.
"Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor," the statement said. "We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority."
Universal said the Studio Tour has resumed "with a modified route" and the park is "reinforcing our operational and safety protocols."
Universal Studios is owned by NBC News’ parent company, NBCUniversal.
According to the park’s website, the tram tour is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary Friday.
The Universal Studios Tour offers park visitors a chance to ride a tram through behind-the-scenes locations of some of the studio's famed films while tour guides impart some of the history of the lot.
Many of the locations are still used for filming, so the locations may change. A consistently popular attraction includes re-creations of scenes such as a "Jaws"-style shark attack.

Mustang Unleashed Tour is like a SEMA show just for the pony car
Ford's description of the Mustang Unleashed tour reads like a SEMA devoted exclusively to the pony car. It's just the kind of present an industry icon — one with perhaps the greatest aftermarket in the world — deserves for its 60th anniversary year. Even better, the present's being shared with Mustang owners and the public. A "festival-like atmosphere" at 12 stops throughout the year will include static walkarounds, customizing and tuning ideas in the Mustang Garage, demos of the Mustang's Remote Rev system and the burnout-producing line lock, and hot-lap ridealongs with professional drivers.
Six locations have been announced so far, three in April, two in May, one in June. Six more will be announced later. The initial schedule is:
- April 12-13: Formula Drift, Long Beach, California
- April 21: Fabulous Fords, Irwindale, California
- April 26-28: Psych Fest, Austin, Texas
- May 10-11: Formula Drift, Braselton, Georgia
- May 17-19: HyperFest, Alton, Virginia
- June 7-9: Backwoods, Ozark, Arkansas
Looks like the automaker's not sticking to the usual Mustang-focused crowd with this tour; the automaker's out to expand the Mustang user base with some of these dates. Austin Psych Fest is "a three-day lineup of psych rock, dream pop, and indie rock and under the stars and oak trees in the backyard at The Far Out Lounge." Backwoods is also all about the music, an EDM festival sure to have crowd of Mustangs in the grassy lots (this one's gonna be the wild joker in the bunch). One of the dates later in the year will be at ComplexCon in Las Vegas, which organizer Complex magazine calls the " Super Bowl of culture."
Not every location will offer every event; attendees are more likely to get hot laps at HyperFest, held at Virginia International Raceway, than in the fields at Backwoods.
Registration is open now for all owners of the 2024 Ford Mustang . It's necessary to enter a VIN before getting access to purchase a ticket, so we're not sure about the entry fee. Non-'Stang drivers or owners of earlier model years are on standby — apparently they have to show up to the event gates and hope there are tickets left.
