Everything you need to know before Pink's concerts in Vancouver this weekend

Update on Dec. 5:

Pink has rescheduled the two shows for Sept. 6 and 7, 2024. See the full update HERE .

Update on Oct. 19:

On Thursday, Oct. 19, Pink postponed both of her Vancouver concerts due to a respiratory infection. The shows will be rescheduled to a future date. See the full update HERE .

Original story:

This weekend will be busy for Vancouver stadiums, with two concerts at Rogers Arena and the BC Lions playing at BC Place.

Pink announced her arena tour in February earlier this year on the same day she dropped her ninth studio album  TRUSTFALL . The tour kicked off in Sacramento, California, this month and Vancouver is one of two Canadian stops (the other is Montreal, Quebec).

The "So What" singer is set to perform at Rogers Arena on Oct. 20 and 21. However, just two shows into the tour, Pink postponed both Tacoma concerts, citing "family medical issues" as the reason in an announcement on Instagram  on Monday (Oct. 16).

Vancouver is the next stop after Tacoma for Pink, and the news has likely left local fans wondering if the Vancouver shows will be postponed as well.

In the event the Vancouver shows go on as scheduled, concert-goers may want to keep this guide handy ahead of the busy weekend.

Tickets are still available for Pink's Vancouver shows on Friday and Saturday , with prices starting at just over $300 and floor tickets going for $495.

Getting there

Rogers Arena is located near the Expo Line’s Stadium–Chinatown Station and a brief walk from Canada Line’s Yaletown–Roundhouse Station.

Both SkyTrain lines will be operating their regular service and there will not be a special schedule or train to assist the concert crowd rush before or after the show.

Hullo Ferries will run special late-night sailings from its downtown Vancouver terminal at the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (1055 Canada Pl) back to Nanaimo at 11:30 p.m. on both Oct. 20 and 21 following the BC Lions football game and Pink concerts.

There are several ways to get to the Vancouver terminal from BC Place; each takes about 20 minutes, according to Google.

  • SkyTrain: take the Expo Line from Stadium-Chinatown Station to Burrard Station then walk about 10 minutes to the ferry terminal
  • Bus: hop on the 5, 246, or 19 bus then walk around 15 minutes to the ferry terminal
  • Walk: getting to the ferry terminal by foot will take approximately 30 minutes
  • Taxi or Uber/Lyft: it is a 5-12 minute drive on average from Rogers Arena to the Hullo terminal

Hullo Ferries General tickets cost $39.99 for a one-way trip and $75 for a round-trip. Tickets can be purchased  online .

Parking near Rogers Arena may be tight on Friday (Oct. 20) due to the BC Lions game at neighbouring stadium BC Place. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., just half an hour after the football game, meaning that nearby parking lots will likely be full.

Inside Rogers Arena

Entry

Make sure your ticket is ready to scan upon entry. Electronic tickets should be downloaded to your mobile device and screenshots of ticket barcodes will not be accepted.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. with special guests Grouplove and KidCutUp opening the show.

Bag policy and prohibited items

Purses, backpacks, and bags larger than 35 by 35 by 15 cm will not be allowed inside Rogers Arena. Walk-through metal detectors are also in place at each gate.

Glass or metal water bottles are also prohibited, with the exception of empty plastic water bottles which can be refilled at water fountains inside.

Rogers Arena is a cashless venue.

Pink is master of ceremonies at Toronto stop of Summer Carnival tour Back to video

Pink isn’t F***ng Perfect — also the name of one of her well-known hits — but she’s pretty darn close.

The 43-year-old singer, who possesses some of the best pipes in the business, kicked off the North American leg of her Summer Carnival stadium tour on Monday night at Toronto’s Rogers Centre bringing plenty of pop-and-circumstance to entertain the 50,000 assembled fans at the sold-out show.

Pink is touring in support of her 2023 album, Trustfall, but left the new material until later in her two-hour concert, preferring instead to kick off her set with such celebratory hits as Get the Party Started — descending from the rafters on a giant pair of lips — and Raise Your Glass before moving on to other well-known songs like Who Knew, Just Like A Pill, Try and What About Us.

(Full disclosure: An unexpected case of heat exhaustion on a very humid summer night took me down at the end of opener Brandi Carlile’s set so I watched the first quarter of Pink’s show from the first aid room where a big bag of ice on the back of neck brought me back to life.)

Pink, meanwhile, was definitely in the mood for supersized fun as she performed on an enormous stage dominated by those pair of lips — Blow Me (One Last Kiss) later featured dancers dressed up as lips with legs marching along the T-shaped catwalk — and several huge video screens.

The first new song of the night, Turbulence, saw Pink and one of her male dancers twirl around silk sheets performing some of the impressive aerial gymnastics she’s become known for.

Let’s put it this way, the girl was working hard.

“I hope you enjoyed my makeup for the first three songs — I’m sure I was super cute,” joked Pink, with a nod to the sweat she was working up, before she settled down to play the piano for a cover of Bob Dylan’s To Make You Feel My Love and later covered Sade’s No Ordinary Love, doing a modern dance with her dancers.

Her own song highlights included Just Give Me A Reason, F***ing Perfect, Just Like Fire (with plenty of firebursts on stage) which segued into Pat Benatar’s Heartbreaker, Please Don’t Leave Me, When I Get There (after she made a dig at controversial country singer Jason Aldean telling the audience they were loved even if they were surrounded by terrible people who gave off “Jason Aldean vibes. Yes, I said it. I went there”), I Am Here (despite it having to be restarted after a guitarist mistake), Irrelevant, and Trustfall which featured trampolining dancers.

Pink, who did indeed don many shades of pink outfits throughout the night, from a pale pink bodysuit and matching long skirt to a bright fuchsia feathered jacket, was also happy to get a gift bag backstage from Roots saying it was well-suited to her style: “It was full of sweat pants.”

Recent tour reviews

When I first bought the tickets they seemed expensive but having attended the show I think they were worth every penny.

I felt that Pink is an amazing entertainer who engaged with the audience and also showed appreciation for the other performers. Not only this but she has ( as evidenced by the video clips) done lots of ambassadorship things for worthy causes.

I felt she can across as a very warm caring person of incredible talent and I enjoyed the whole event.

Would definitely like to see her in concert again. Truly spectacular.

I had seen P!nk live at Madison Square Garden in NYC once before when she had started using the silks onstage, so I knew her shows were impressive. But nothing prepared me for last night. Not only does she entertain with a well-choreographed show, she’s humble, she’s funny and the show brims with passion. This is a well-rehearsed production, yet she still makes it feel spontaneous. There are lots of fast rock-out songs with pyrotechnics but also quiet moments where her voice shines during the ballads. Highlights for me were the nod to Gwen Stefani/No Doubt blend of Just a Girl with her own Funhouse and her flying all around the arena like Tinkerbell during So What. What a phenomenal show. What a phenomenal performance. P!nk sure gives you your money’s worth. I tend to avoid big stadium concerts, but for P!nk I’ll gladly make an exception. Go see her! You won’t regret it.

This tour date was my second time seeing P!NK on the Beautiful Trauma tour. (I got to travel to Charlottesville for a date on the tour in 2019.) When the Charlotte, NC, date was announced for this March, I had hoped to be able to go because it's near my birthday this time. This date was just as awesome. (I have listened to P!NK's albums since her first album was released when I was an assistant manager in a music store.)

P!NK is personal, on point, and gives audience participation a new meaning. She's working hard to keep her body prepped to do everything she does on stage, and as a female in her age group as well as a lifelong singer and musician's spouse, I applaud her voice and her choices in everything she puts together for her concert tour dates. If you were hesitant to go to the tour date because you hear her music and do not go to concerts, then I recommend you try to go to at least one tour date. You will not be disappointed!
