WATCH: Euro Tour stars conduct hilarious ‘Angry Golfers Anonymous’ meeting in new video

A screenshot from the new "Angry Golfers" European Tour video.

@EuropeanTour

The European Tour has one of the funniest creative teams around. They regularly post viral videos of Tour stars that run the gamut of concepts, from this post-Ryder Cup video of Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari waking up in bed together after the victory, to this star-studded spoof Zoom call from earlier this year.

Beyond a stellar creative team, the key to the videos’ success are the European Tour players themselves, who are a funny, talented bunch. Now they’re at it again.

For this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship , they created a video that took under 24 hours to garner a million views on Twitter. The conceit for the skit is an “Angry Golfers” group therapy session, a play on Alcohol Anonymous and anger management meetings, featuring several big-name pros.

Tommy Fleetwood leads the session, addressing each golfer one at a time and going over their anger problems on the course, and the steps they’ve taken to get better.

“Hi, I’m Tyrrell, and I’m an angry golfer,” Tyrrell Hatton says nervously as the video begins. Fleetwood introduces Hatton as a new member of the group who has made serious progress with his anger issues. Then the scene changes to Hatton on a putting green missing a putt and beginning an outburst before Fleetwood appears to intervene.

“Remember when you’re feeling glum…” Fleetwood begins, leading Hatton to transform his clenched fist into a thumbs-up and finish the sentence “pop up your thumb.”

Popular pro Eddie Pepperell makes an appearance too, and Fleetwood asks if he has anything to share, or if he’s “saving all his wisdom for Twitter.”

“I’ve not actually found anything that works for me yet. When I’m struggling, I usually revert to my vices,” Pepperell responds, before a clip plays of Pepperell eating chocolate in bed while typing away on his phone. “Take that keyboard warrior, f— you, troll, you’re not gonna get in my head.”

And that’s just the beginning. The video also features appearances by Matt Wallace, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter. You can check out the full thing below.

There are truly three things we can count on in this crazy world: Death, taxes, and the European Tour creating funny content. Thank goodness for the last one, am I right?

In recent years, we've been treated to instant classics like " Chase the Ace ," " The Awkward Reporter ," and a fantastic mock Zoom call . But this may be the best effort yet.

RELATED: Watch a fake TV reporter prank a bunch of Euro Tour stars

A collection of the Euro Tour's biggest stars (Tommy Fleetwood, Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Tyrell Hatton, Eddie Pepperell, and Matt Wallace) got together to attend an anger management therapy group. Not surprisingly, hilarity ensues. Check it out:

Of course, what makes all these videos so great is the fact these guys don't take themselves so seriously. And boy, are they cool with making fun of themselves. In particular, Tyrrell Hatton acknowledging he's a hot head on the course, Matt Wallace referring to his checkered past dealing with caddies and Ian Poulter playing up his reputation as a vain Ryder Cup villain.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2021/1/210121-poulter.png

And then Martin Kaymer drops a perfect cameo as the guy who is too nice to be part of this group. There are some great lines and some genuinely good acting. Just look at Hatton's face here!

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2021/1/210121-hatton.png

Give that man a BAFTA! Anway, add it all up and it's content gold. And at the end, Stenson can be heard saying, "That'll do, guys. Slow golfers are in next." We can only hope, that's the Euro Tour's next video project.

Eminem Cancels European Tour Due To Exhaustion

european tour anger management

Citing exhaustion complicated by other medical issues, Eminem has canceled his European tour dates.

The shows are not expected to be rescheduled, according to a statement released by his record label late Tuesday (August 16).

Eminem was due to headline the European leg of the Anger Management 3 tour, which begins September 1 in Hamburg, Germany, and wraps up September 17 in Meath, Ireland.

([article id="1507037"]Click for photos from the Anger Management Tour.[/article])

The rapper's spokesperson had no more information on Em's medical status or whether the tour would continue on with 50 Cent as headliner. 50 and G-Unit headlined some concerts this summer on off nights from Anger Management (see [article id="1505307"]"50 Cent To Keep Rapping On Anger Management's Off Days"[/article]).

On Wednesday, Em's onstage hype man Proof said if Slim Shady isn't going to Europe, neither are D12. The collective instead plans to hit the studio to work on its next project, which may be a double album and should be out next year, he said.

"My homie is a little tired, man," Proof said of Eminem. "He feels exhausted out here. It's crazy. ... We actually been running for the last seven years, but nobody sees it that way."

In an interview backstage at a recent tour stop, Eminem said he put a lot of effort into planning the tour (see [article id="1506087"]"Eminem: 'I'm Not Retiring' "[/article]). "We spent a lot of money, we really anteed up the stakes this time," he said. "We know that people are coming to not just see us get onstage and rap, they're coming to see a show."

It's been a bit of a rough ride, however, for the third installment of Anger Management. A tour bus crashed during the first week and seriously injured Eminem's DJ (see [article id="1505729"]"Anger Management Tour Bus Crashes; Stat Quo, Eminem's DJ Among Those Injured"[/article]). And last week, Young Buck and Lloyd Banks were arrested for gun possession after a New York show (see [article id="1507266"]"Young Buck, Lloyd Banks Arrested For Gun Possession"[/article]).

"I'm trying to tell you, man, this was the bananas boat, but we made it through it," Proof said. "It was a lot more drama on this tour than ever."

Eminem - The Anger Management Tour

Where to watch

Eminem - the anger management tour.

Directed by D.J. Viola

The inaugural Anger Management Tour was founded and started in the fall 2000 by Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, and after the release of The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem. Originally targeted at both rap and rock fans, the first "Anger Management" outing took place in 2000. It had two separate legs. The second tour took place in the summer of 2002. Eminem told LAUNCH, "It's basically the same thing that it was the last Anger Management Tour without Limp Bizkit...Papa Roach are still cool though."[citation needed] The third tour took place in the summer of 2005. 50 Cent missed the tour's first two stops because of a scheduling conflict; he was tied up shooting his film debut. Ludacris filled in on those dates. The European part of the tour was cut short due to the exhaustion of tour founder Eminem and his addiction to sleeping pills.

Anger Management Tour

The Anger Management Tour was a rap and rock music tour, founded and started in the fall of 2000 by Limp Bizkit , Papa Roach and, after the release of The Marshall Mathers LP , Eminem .

The first "Anger Management" outing took place in 2000. In the process of starting the large tour, Eminem wanted to include Nine Inch Nails into the list of artists, but Marilyn Manson joining the tour raised issues between him and Trent Reznor and so decided not to ask Reznor to join the tour. [ citation needed ] Eminem named the tour, saying "It's the perfect name for a tour like this, because most of the music featured in the tour is about anger, frustration, and the bullshit of our lives and the fans loving every minute of it. It's the blend of hardcore rap, industrial metal, and alternative metal that gives it the anger management feel, literally." [ citation needed ]

The tour began two days after the release of Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water on October 19, 2000. On the first leg Limp Bizkit and Eminem co-headlined with support from D12, Papa Roach and Xzibit. They played through November 21, 2000. Three dates were cancelled on October 24 (which got rescheduled for December 11), November 3 and 15 - in lieu of either Fred Durst 's voice or what other issues occurred during the tour.

The second leg occurred from November 24 till December 19, 2000 with support from DMX , Godsmack and Sinnistar in tow. Limp Bizkit finished the leg as headliners as it was the only Anger Management tour where Eminem did not finish, and instead, Limp Bizkit headlined over him. In this leg, three further dates were cancelled on November 26 and December 13 and 14. Rapper DMX missed four shows on the tour including a stop on December 17, where there was an issue and had to cancel his performance.

The other acts continued the tour and on December 19, 2000, during the final show at Limp Bizkit's hometown in Jacksonville , Florida, DMX came out to perform an acapella sing-along to one of Limp Bizkit's songs during their set. Finally, at the end of the night, DMX gave a prayer to the audience, saying he will do better for the Lord and himself. During the concert at some point during Limp's set some fans stormed Limp Bizkit's tour bus and took all the band members clothes. Despite this, the tour ended on a high-note for Limp Bizkit, who were leading the charge of the Nu Metal wave at the time and had enjoyed great and tremendous success during this era.

The tour was supported by the acts' then-recent album releases which included Infest by Papa Roach and finally, Xzibit's soon-to-be released major label debut, Restless in December of that year. Both Eminem and Limp Bizkit had album releases they were supporting on this tour that had sold over a million copies in their first week.

Anger Management 2001 took place in Europe with Eminem headlining the first leg in February with support from OutKast, Xzibit and D12. Guest artists like Dr. Dre , Dido and Marilyn Manson appeared at select dates.

Limp Bizkit and Godsmack would finish the second leg during May and June 2001.

Eminem would headline future editions going forward.

The second tour took place in the summer of 2002. Eminem said "It's basically the same thing that it was the last Anger Management Tour without Limp Bizkit... Papa Roach are still cool though." Headlined by Eminem with support from Papa Roach, Ludacris, Xzibit, X-Ecutioners and Bionic Jive. The tour ran from July 18 to September 8, lasting 32 dates.

Anger Management 2003 took place in Japan and Europe with support from 50 Cent, Cypress Hill, D12, Xzibit and Obie Trice. During a stop in Milton Keynes, UK, fans grew restless and agitated at the prolonged 'stage changeovers' between artists and threw bottles of liquid (alcohol, water, and urine) at the stage. [ citation needed ] It was the last rock inclusion of the tour with Cypress Hill playing a mix of rap rock along with their hip hop tracks during their run of the tour.

The third tour took place in the summer of 2005. 50 Cent missed the tour's first two stops because of a scheduling conflict; he was tied up shooting his film debut. Ludacris filled in on those dates. [ citation needed ]
