Google maps has tried to kill me before. It constantly will tell me to ignore a safe bike path and send me on a no shoulder high speed highway. About all it seems to do is just add time to driving directions. Maybe the routes are just poorly mapped here, but I will take the time to manually study maps and plan my route instead.

How accurate are the Google Maps travel time estimates for public
It's pretty accurate for travel time once you're actually on the train, but doesn't take into account waiting for a train. I usually pad it by 5-10 min for this. It's great at train times. It gets inaccurate with walking times. Sometimes it seems to expect me to jog everywhere. Other times it vastly overestimates how long it takes.
