Is Having Insurance for Visit Visa in UAE Mandatory?

60 Days Visit Visa in UAE

It is not mandatory to have insurance when traveling to UAE. Still, getting insurance when processing the uae visit visa by arabiers is prudent because you never know what might happen. You mage get sick while in UAE, and the insurance will cover the treatment expenses.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country that features a variety of landscapes, contributing to the country's high level of tourism. These landscapes range from magnificent deserts to the mesmerizing Arabian Sea.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ajman make up the federation of the seven Arab Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. Deserts, pristine beaches, towering skyscrapers, and opulent resorts are some of the things that make this place famous.

In addition, the migratory birds that stop off on its beaches draw in birdwatchers from all over the world. Due to the weather in the UAE, tourists are more likely to suffer from heat strokes or heat exhaustion, which could lead to unexpected medical costs.

Almost all people who travel to the UAE will experience weather like this. In addition, participating in activities such as water sports or desert safari can put you in danger of being involved in an accident.

Where Can I Get Travel Health Insurance for UAE?

When buying a travel insurance policy, keep the following in mind:, will my uae travel medical insurance cover all my activities, travel insurance to uae packages, points to remember, key benefits of travel insurance for uae.

Is Having Insurance for Visit Visa in UAE Mandatory?

You may wonder why we recommend getting insurance when traveling to UAE, and here we will explain the benefits of travel insurance for the UAE.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is renowned for its tourism and hospitality, which brings visitors from all over the world. If you're considering visiting this place, you are designated for a thrilling adventure.

To ensure your time in the UAE is as stress-free as possible, purchase appropriate travel insurance before you arrive. The following are some of the most important advantages of purchasing a travel insurance plan in the UAE:

  • Medical Emergencies & Accidents
  • Trip disruption
  • Personal belongings loss coverage
  • Emergency evacuation or repatriation of mortal remains coverage
  • Hijack coverage
  • 24x7 assistance
  • Covid-19 Coverage Advantages

Aside from this, the specifics of your benefits package can be adjusted according to the plan. Add-ons like coverage for pre-existing conditions, coverage for loss of personal items, coverage for participation in adventure sports, coverage for pre-existing diseases, and coverage for house burglary insurance may be available under some plans.

Is Healthcare Expensive in the UAE for Tourists?

The healthcare system in the UAE is so highly regarded hence you won't have to worry about getting adequate treatment if you become ill or are injured while traveling to UAE .

However, with the exception of UAE citizens, there is a cost associated with receiving medical care. Individuals who do not have any kind of health insurance face extremely significant medical bills.

Remember that the additional cost of the insurance policy is only a fraction of what you may have to pay if you require medical care, so if you are considering whether or not to purchase travel health insurance, keep in mind this fact.

It is easy to get travel insurance to Dubai and the UAE. You need to contact a travel insurance company based in your home country or an online comparison marketplace such as Insubuy.

At Insubuy, you will also have the opportunity to compare several insurance policies and select the plan that best meets your requirements.

  • Get it in advance. Once you have booked your trip, purchasing travel insurance ought to be one of the first things you do, especially if your deposits are non-refundable and you are going to a country like the United Arab Emirates, which has a reputation for having expensive lodging options. If you are required to cancel, you will be eligible to receive some or all of your money back.
  • Conduct research and make a comparison of the various policies online.
  • Pay close attention to reading the entire policy, including any small print that may be present. If you do need to file a claim, being aware of the specifics of your coverage will prevent you from being surprised by the amount of money you are required to pay

Is Having Insurance for Visit Visa in UAE Mandatory?

That is entirely dependent on the activities that you have planned. Generally speaking, travel insurance does not cover high-risk activities because they are not considered low-risk. In addition, there are a lot of high-risk, exciting activities that you can participate in anywhere in the UAE, including Dubai. Still, they might not be covered by your insurance.

Skydiving, dune bashing, scuba diving, car racing, (indoor) skiing, and other extreme sports might not be covered under a standard travel health insurance policy, for instance.

If you intend to participate in activities of this nature, you should inquire with your insurance providers about the possibility of purchasing additional coverage for these endeavors.

A higher premium must be paid for an insurance plan to receive protection for high-risk pursuits, and even then, certain dangerous pursuits might not be covered.

  • In an emergency, treatment received outside of the authorized network is only eligible for reimbursement up to the network tariff in effect. Our website contains a comprehensive list of authorized networks in its entirety.
  • The maximum age allowed for coverage under the policy is 75 years.
  • If the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities deny the applicant a visa or refuse the applicant entry into the UAE, the policy will be automatically canceled.

Everything you need to know about Schengen Travel Insurance

What does a schengen insurance policy usually cover .

A Schengen insurance policy is a specific type of travel insurance designed to fulfil the visa requirements for individuals travelling to the Schengen Area. The Schengen Area comprises 26 European countries that have abolished passport control at their mutual borders, allowing for easier travel within the region. A Schengen insurance policy typically covers the following:

1. Medical expenses: Coverage for emergency medical expenses, including hospitalisation, surgery, and outpatient treatment. As Schengen visa regulations require, the policy usually covers a minimum amount, such as €30,000.

2. Emergency evacuation and repatriation : Coverage for the cost of emergency evacuation and repatriation to your home country in case of a medical emergency.

3. Repatriation of mortal remains: Coverage for the cost of repatriating the insured person's remains in the unfortunate event of death during the trip.

4. Travel assistance services : Access to 24/7 emergency assistance services, including a helpline for medical advice, travel assistance, and coordination of medical services.

5. Coverage for multiple Schengen countries : The policy should cover the entire itinerary if you plan to visit multiple Schengen countries.

6. Minimum coverage amount : Schengen insurance policies must meet minimum coverage amounts as specified by the Schengen visa requirements. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the minimum coverage is €30,000.

7. Emergency dental treatment : Coverage for emergency dental treatment due to an accident.

It's important to carefully review the terms and conditions of the Schengen insurance policy to ensure that it meets the specific requirements of the Schengen visa application. Additionally, check if the policy covers additional features or optional add-ons that may benefit your travel needs.

When considering a Schengen insurance policy, opt for a reputable and globally recognised insurance provider like Allianz Travel that offers comprehensive coverage for individuals travelling to the Schengen Area. You can benefit from a range of features designed to meet the specific requirements of Schengen visa applications. Schengen travel insurance from Allianz Travel includes coverage for medical expenses, emergency evacuation, repatriation, travel assistance services, personal liability, and more.

All Outbound travel insurance products from Allianz Travel UAE are schengen-compliant meaning all products meets the Schengen visa requirements. The Extra and Gold products however go beyond the basic Schenge coverages to offer maximum peace of mind.

Does my Schengen travel insurance need to cover all Schengen are countries?

Yes, your Schengen travel insurance should typically cover all Schengen Area countries you plan to visit. When you apply for a Schengen visa, one of the visa requirements is proof of travel insurance that meets specific criteria. The insurance coverage is expected to be valid for your stay in the Schengen Area and should include coverage for medical emergencies and repatriation.

Key points regarding Schengen travel insurance coverage for multiple countries:

1. Coverage for the entire itinerary : The insurance policy should cover the entire duration of your stay in the Schengen Area, from entry to exit.

2. Minimum coverage amount: The insurance coverage must meet the minimum amount specified by the Schengen visa requirements. As of our last knowledge update in January 2022, the minimum coverage amount is €30,000.

3. Coverage for all countries : The policy should explicitly mention coverage for all Schengen Area countries you plan to visit. When purchasing the insurance, it's important to list the countries you intend to travel to.

4. Insurance certificate : The provider typically issues a certificate or confirmation letter specifying the coverage details, including the countries covered. This certificate is submitted as part of your Schengen visa application.

When obtaining Schengen travel insurance, communicate your travel itinerary and ensure the policy explicitly mentions coverage for all the Schengen space. This is crucial for meeting the visa requirements and ensuring adequate travel coverage within the Schengen Area. Always check the latest visa requirements and guidelines from the consulate or embassy of the country you are applying to, as they may be subject to change.

When obtaining Schengen travel insurance that covers all your needs across multiple countries, Allianz Travel emerges as a reliable choice. Allianz Travel offers comprehensive Schengen insurance coverage that aligns with the specific criteria set by Schengen visa requirements. • 1. Pre-existing medical conditions : Many Schengen travel insurance policies exclude coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. Any medical condition you had before purchasing the insurance may not be covered.
  • 2. Medical treatment not deemed necessary : Expenses for medical treatments not considered necessary by the attending physician or that can be postponed until your return to your home country may be excluded.

Here are some points to remember regarding age and Schengen travel insurance:

1. Age categories : Some insurance providers categorise age groups differently, offering specific policies for adults, seniors, and children. The terms and conditions, as well as coverage options, may differ based on these categories.

In general, travel insurance policies have different refund policies, and it's essential to review the specific terms outlined in your policy documentation or contact your insurance provider for clarification. Here are some factors to consider:

Do I need Schengen travel insurance as a passport-holding UAE resident?

The need to apply for a Schengen visa if you want to visit the Schengen space does NOT depend on your country of residence but on your nationality.

For example: if you are an American citizen living in the UAE, you do not need to apply to a Schengen visa before your trip. You will get a visa on arrival. However, if your are an Indian citizen living in the UAE, you will need to apply for a Schengen visa before your trip.

Therefore, you need to check what the requirements are for your nationality - if you plan to travel with friends, you may not need to follow the same steps even if you are travelling together on the same dates.

If you need a Schengen visa, then the visa requirements are the same for all when it comes to travel insurance:

1. Mandatory requirement : Schengen visa regulations typically mandate that applicants provide proof of travel insurance coverage as part of the visa application.

2. Minimum coverage requirements : The insurance coverage should meet specific requirements, including a minimum amount (commonly €30,000) and coverage for your intended stay in the Schengen Area.

3. Insurance certificate : You must submit an insurance certificate or confirmation letter from the insurance provider along with your visa application. This document should clearly outline the coverage details, including the coverage amount, coverage period, and countries covered.

4. Coverage for medical emergencies : The insurance should cover medical emergencies and repatriation, ensuring you have financial coverage in case of unexpected medical expenses during your stay in the Schengen Area.

Failure to provide the required travel insurance or submitting insurance that does not meet the specified criteria may result in rejection of your Schengen visa application.

Before securing Schengen travel insurance, it's advisable to carefully review the consulate or embassy requirements of the Schengen country you plan to visit. Allianz Travel's commitment to compliance, comprehensive coverage, and clear documentation makes them a trusted choice for meeting Schengen travel insurance requirements.

Do I need COVID protection for my Schengen travel insurance?

COVID-19 travel insurance depends on each country - therefore there is not any specific requirement that covers all Schengen space countries. You need to check the particular country or countries you are planning to visit.

Once you have checked what the COVID-19 requirements are for the country of destination, you can then check what the insurance provider covers - if somehting is unclear to oyu, do not hesitate to contact the travel insurance company who will be able to help you.

Remember that travel regulations and insurance coverage related to COVID-19 may evolve, so it's essential to stay informed and check for any updates or changes in requirements before your trip.

Given the evolving nature of travel regulations and COVID-19 coverage. Allianz Travel's proactive approach, comprehensive coverage, and customer-focused communication make them reliable for addressing your COVID-19-related travel insurance needs.

If your loved ones are planning a trip to the UAE, here's a reminder: Tourists can apply for a family group visit visa, which is free of cost for children.

Under the scheme, children under the age of 18 can be granted a visa for free while usual charges apply to their parents.

“The application for this visa should be submitted along with either father’s or mother’s application,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide.

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

Industry experts said several visitors had been opting for this entry permit.

“A family group visit visa is more convenient and cost-effective for families, given that there is no visa fee for children under the age of 18,” Subair said, adding that there are no restrictions on the number of children who can apply for the permit.

The free visa is also applicable even to children who are travelling with just one parent, he explained. It is available for a 30- or 60-day stay, which can be extended within the country.

With the festive season just around the corner, several family group visit visas are being issued every day — particularly to Indians who wish to celebrate Diwali in Dubai, said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

This visa, however, is not new. It was introduced two years ago and has since been a popular option for visitors from around the world.

How to apply

  • A family will have to submit copies of their passports and photos — all at once — to a travel agency.
  • Fees are paid. Note that though the visa is free for children, travel agent service charges and insurance fees will apply.
  • The agency then processes the application.
  • The visa is usually issued in a day or two.
  • Visa fee for parents, along with the service charge for children, may vary depending on the travel agency.
  • A 30-day visa for a parent ranges from Dh350 to Dh500.
  • Service charge and insurance for a child range between Dh80 and Dh120.
  • A 60-day visa will cost Dh500 to Dh650, while the service charge, including insurance, may vary from Dh130 to Dh170.

Requirements

  • Passport copy
  • Passport-sized photograph

Extension policy

Experts say the family visa can be extended without exiting the country, “however, a full visa fee has to be paid for children. The extension within the country is not free for children", said Subair.

“Visitors can extend the family visa for up to 120 days without exiting the country,” he added.
