The bus used was very old and broke in the middle of the highway, we had to wait 1 hour for another bus. The guide had no idea what she was doing, didn’t know anything about wines or the wineries we visited. The wineries per se were ok. But in the way back the driver put the bus music in maximum volume. We asked to change and nothing happened. I have videos showing how bad it was. Would NEVER schedule ANYTHING with them ever again. Read more Written May 29, 2022
  • marcelofagundes 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Terrible experience at the Winery Tour Terrible experience with their winery tour in Michigan. Their tour guide simply put the bus music on the maximum volume on the whole trip back (2h). Not even my noise canceling headset stoped it to be extremely loud. She made the bus to become a party for all the drunk people in the tour. She apparently has ZERO experiencing being a tour guide and is very disrespectful. Nevertheless, their bus broke at the beginning of the trip and made us lose 1.5h of the tour! Don’t waste time with this company!!! Read more Written May 29, 2022
  • krisjH5583WX 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Worst trip with SA/Unsafe & Obnoxious River Tubing Let me start by saying that good or bad I never leave reviews, but I couldn't pretend like what happened on Saturday's trip was acceptable, let alone safe. First let me start with went well...the experience itself, the time my friend and I had on the Delaware River and at the brewery was fun. It was my friends first time River tubing, it was her first time with Sourced Adventures and her first time participating in any sort of water activity and she was incredibly excited when I told her about this trip. I made the mistake of assuring her that I had taken multiple trips with Sourced Adventures and it was always well organized, fun and most importantly completely safe. She was apprehensive due to Covid but I assured her that SA had extensive safety protocols such as mandated mask wearing and social distancing on the bus. Unfortunately by the end of the trip, I found myself apologizing profusely as SA made me out to be an outright liar to a first time customer. What went wrong? Well first there were two large extremely loud, obnoxious groups sitting in front of and behind us. In the front you have the music blasting, maskless, dancing in the aisle, drunk tourist. Behind us you have the maskless group of drunk frat boys who spent the trip visibley drunk and screaming. Three of which had to be searched for after the brewery stop. On the way to the brewery they were allowed to blast music and scream. My friend and I actually went to speak to the female guide who seemed to be in charge. Who seemed super apologetic and sincere, when we begged that we just watch a movie on the way back to New York without music. She said yes and said that during the 45 minutes to the brewery she typically allows the guest to decide, but in fact she was in agreement about having a quiet ride home. When we got back on the bus, it all went out the window, she put on a movie without sound or subtitles and allowed them to continue to blast music via their speaker. Then several of the tourist in the front literally began Irish step dancing up and down the aisle drunk, and maskless and knocking into my friend who was sitting in aisle seat. While the drunk group in the back pounded on the ceiling of the bus, screaming. This went on for the entire trip back to New York. So much so, that we decided to get off in midtown which is significantly further from our homes just to get off the bus. Us and another 5 girls were equally as fustrated, and like us, took pictures. See attached. Many people who boarded with us at Delancey also exited early. My ears ringing and head pounding. I can't say how disappointing this was and how none of the safety protocols we're enforced. I get having fun, but that was complete failure to maintain any sort of control. The male tour guide made zero efforts to back the female, it seemed like she was alone on delivering information any trying to maintain any sort of "control." They really shouldn't be allowed to drink on the bus, period. You're opening not only to the likely that people won't social distance, not wearing mask but a higher likelyhood that people will become non-compliant. All that it seemed like they allowed the tourist who will never come back to run the bus, as opposed to a frequent customer who was planned to go on another trip next month (well, I was no im longer going). If wanted to be trapped at a drunken frat party I'd go back to undergrad. Do better! Read more Written August 10, 2021

  • Travelingover50 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Just do it! We took the Long Island wine tour with sourced adventure. Our guide was hilarious and friendly. The motor coach we took out of the city to Long Island was super comfortable, roomy seats, air conditioning, trays, cup holders, charging ports and storage for bags! We visited 3 wineries and they were all lovely and ready to meet us. Our guide did a great job keeping tabs on people and making sure people were also eating. There were food pairings at one winery, lunch included at another , and food trucks available at the third. It was well organized and kept on schedule for the most part. We did miss our train home because .,, well, you can’t predict accidents and traffic! Read more Written August 10, 2019
  • StephanieMarie828 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Overall Great with a few Missteps Unfortunately we had to deal with the collapse of WOW air just days before we were set to leave for Iceland. While we were grateful for the airline credit they offered us, and it certainly helped to offset the cost of purchasing new airline tickets, they didn't do much in the way of helping us procure those tickets. Had we waited until hearing from them we surely would have lost out on getting new airline tickets. We also booked 2 additional tours through them plus a day trip to the the Blue Lagoon. Since this was our first time going to Iceland it was nice to have a one stop shop kind of experience, however I can't help but feel if I had booked everything on my own I would have spent half as much. They booked us in Hotel Cabin which while it was clean and well maintained was far off from the city center and the bus tours pretty much hating dropping us off there because of the street layout. The rooms were incredibly tiny and lacked common hotel amenities without incurring an up charge. Luckily for us, we were only there 4 nights, we didn't spend much time in the room and the beds were comfortable for sleep. The Bus Tours were great - BusTravel Iceland did a phenomenal job getting to all the sights efficiently and making the most out of our visit. Due to the 4 hour time difference there was no way to reach Sourced Adventures if something went wrong at our tour start times. Overall, the staff at Sourced Adventure were helpful and accommodating and answered all my questions as they arose. They were calm and courteous even when I'm sure they were handling the most stressful days of their careers. If we were to go back to Iceland, i would definitely feel more confident in booking things without a third party service. Read more Written April 11, 2019
  • Claire P 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fun and easy trip to snowboard at Hunter! Jesse, our guide, was awesome! My sister and I had such a great time going to Hunter Mountain to enjoy some snowboarding. The transportation there and back was seamless, they offered coffee and bagels in the morning, beer on the way back (all free), and had all the necessary passes for your depending on your package. Thank you so much for a memorable day and a huge shout out to our guide Jesse who was extremely nice, efficient, helpful, and overall had such a fun and positive energy to him. • Joshua G 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great customer service, fun staff! We did the Daylong snow tubing adventure. Jesse was our guide and he was amazing- fun, funny, and super willing to chat with the bus and talk us through issues at the location. Snow tubing was fun but someone got hurt and they closed half the hill, Sourced was gracious enough to give us a free drink to make up for it! The beer garden was beautiful and the staff there was SO NICE and sweet. The cookie cider was delicious. All in all a great day! We love Jesse! Read more Written February 27, 2019

Highly recommend! NFWT was responsive over email, leading up to the trip, making every little change I needed and answering every concern. And on the day of, the driver was an absolute gem. Showed up on time, bus looked great, clean, had a working bathroom, had ice and waters, and Bluetooth… He was so friendly and helpful, getting us set up at each winery, patiently taking group photos for us, texting me when we were 15 minutes away from leaving each, and then coming inside to check on us if I didn’t respond, (drinking and socializing, so you know how it gets.) We got the lux option with lunches, and they were all good and served to us at a good time. We visited Raphael ‘s, which was an extra cost, but honestly so worth it if you have a crew who likes beautiful, ambience, and good wine. We also did Pellegrini ‘s and a private area for our group. It wasn’t as pretty and the service wasn’t as good as Raphael ‘s, but had some great wines. We are super happy with our experience with NFWT, and I was nervous because we were hosting an older crowd who is used to nice things. I will definitely use them again. Kasey M.

Before booking, I had spoken with Michael on the phone, who was amazing. I was unfamiliar with the wineries over in North Fork, and he was extremely informative and helpful. We visited ospreys, Pellegrini with the lunch delivery and duck walk. Tommy was our driver, and he was fantastic. He was so kind. He took many pictures of us (on a bachelorette party, so many pictures are a must!), and was in constant communication with me throughout the trip. We even met Michael at Pellegrini‘s and he was so kind, making sure we were enjoying ourselves. We were recommended NFWT through some of the guests on the trip. And they certainly delivered. I hope to use their services again – it was a memorable trip and experience! Kathy C.

Had a great experience with this company… Had a great experience with this company for my sister’s bachelorette party. They were quick to email me back and very thorough with information especially since so many wineries have restrictions due to Covid. Our driver Darrell was awesome. He made sure we were comfortable, knew how to work the music, and took tons of pictures of the group for us. You could tell he really knew the area and each winery well. He was really flexible too when we changed up the pick up location day of. Thanks Daryll! Nina S. October 7, 2022 This was an excellent experience all around... This was an excellent experience all around. Our bride-to-be was thrilled, and our driver took excellent care of us along the way. NFWT was on time, friendly, and responsive. I would recommend them to anyone! Bachelorette Party from Bellmore October 7, 2022 Wow!! Another amazing trip... Wow!! Another amazing trip. This was our second time using the North Fork team for our wine trip and they KILLED IT!!! We had 60 people, two buses, visited two wineries and a brewery everything went off without a hitch. Mike and his team are a pleasure to work with. Our drivers Rob and Dennis were professional and friendly and took great care of us. No question I will be booking next years trip with North Fork. We might need THREE buses after this amazing trip! (The 2 Vineyards where Laurel Lake and Pellegrini. The brewery was Jamesport Brewery) 2019 KDOC/TMEDIA Wine Tour- NYC October 10, 2021 Michael + team was able to tailor a 2 day… Michael + team was able to tailor a 2 day offsite trip exactly to our needs. He sent 2 coach buses for our team of 75. We visited Raphael‘s, where we had an executive lunch, group presentations with AV, and structured wine tasting, before doing a second, more casual, tasting with catered small treats at Laurel Lake.  Communication was seamless, and both wineries were absolutely wonderful. The next day, he sent the same buses for our trip home, with snack packs and wine bottles ready to go as takeaways for our guests. Our team had an amazing time. Highly recommend – – professional, family service! SquareSpace -NYC October 14, 2021 We used North Fork Wine Tours  for my friends bachelorette party… We used North Fork Wine Tours  for my friends bachelorette party and things could not have gone more perfectly! I was planning the event while working overseas this summer and I cannot express how easy they made the process for me. The fact that they specifically had wine tour options for a bachelorette parties which included food made them perfect for one stop shop. We also had an incredible driver, Nick, the day of. I would highly recommend! Stacy D/ Greenport October 7, 2020   "My family and I had a wonderful experience with Mike and team at NFWT!! We had planned a wine tour originally this summer and had to cancel last minute due to a family emergency. Mike could not have been more accommodating and understanding. Our family is so grateful to you for that! Once we were able to reschedule and head out to the wine tour – we made up for lost time and had a perfect day for my dad‘s 60th birthday celebration with Brett as our driver! We love the day so much we are hoping to make this an annual family outing!!" Ashley T. From New York, New York September 10, 2020   Our Fleet

Duck Walk Vineyards

By far our most requested and most popular vineyard stop. Duck Walk Vineyards is one of the most well known names in quality wine on Long Island, NY. Encompassing 140 scenic acres and producing some 5,000 cases of awarding-winning wine each year, Duck Walk Vineyards has become a staple on one of the most famed growing regions in the country. From Vidal Ice Wine made with grapes actually frozen on the vine, to the renowned Blueberry Port crafted from wild Maine blueberries, their wines are crafted to be distinctive and exceptional.

Pindar Vineyards

Another one of our absolute favorites, and one of Long Island's most popular vineyard destinations! Pindar Vineyards encompasses more than 500 scenic acres. They grow 17 varieties of grapes, crafting them into some 23 varietals and proprietary blends. Pindar produces 70,000 cases of wine a year, making them the largest vineyard on Long Island! But at heart, they are still a family business with a personal touch in every aspect of the process. Pindar also puts an emphasis on striving to create more impactful wines with less impact on the environment.

Hawk Ridge Winery (CT)

One of our popular non-Long Island destinations. Hawk Ridge Winery, part of Hidden Breeze Farm, is located in Watertown, Connecticut, a peaceful farm setting, in which to enjoy friends, family, and fantastic wine. Hidden Breeze Farm has been in existence since January, 2012. They decided to name our winery after the abundance of red tail hawks on the property. Hawk Ridge is dog friendly on the lawn and in the tent area. You may bring your own food it just can’t be serving style/in serving trays/or from an outside caterer. Ideal destination for tours leaving from New Jersey.

Long Island Spirits

A great vineyard alternative to add some diversity to your tour! Long Island Spirits was established in 2007 as the first distillery on Long Island since the 1800's and became the 100th Distillery in the United States of America. Surrounded by centuries old of potato, corn and rye farms, the distillery is located on the bucolic North Fork of Long Island, in the heart of the acclaimed wine region. Long Island Spirits is proud of its sustainable distillery practices and the innovative fermenting, distilling and blending techniques it has pioneered.

Jason's Vineyard

Jason’s Vineyard was planted in 1996 using only the finest clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Jason's Vineyard also purchases the grape varietals of Sauvignon Blanc, Seyvel Blanc, Cayuga and Riesling. Jason's pioneered the dense spacing of vines on the North Fork. This technique, not seen prior to Jason's Vineyard, is more closely planted than many other local vineyards. The six feet between rows and three feet between adjacent vines are Bordeaux measurements. A lovely and relaxing vineyard destination.

Jamesport Vineyards

Jamesport Vineyards is a father-son collaboration that began in 1986 making it one of the North Fork’s oldest vineyards. The tasting room has increased to accommodate an ever growing number of visitors. The great lawn out back provides the perfect setting for the Jamesport weekends where people gather to enjoy great wine, light fare and summer jazz concerts. Other event spaces throughout the property provide the perfect setting for weddings, private parties and small gatherings. A fun and lively vineyard destination!

Get the travel guide, become an insider, the north fork.

The North Fork, or as the locals call it “NOFO,” is one of the largest and most preserved agricultural regions in New York State. Known for farm stands offering seasonal produce, local honey, baked goods, and flowers, it should come as no surprise that this rich soil is also used to grow spectacular vines that set the foundation for incredible wines. Here’s a comprehensive trip itinerary making stops at a few of our favorite vineyards (They also happen to be accessible utilizing the  Long Island Rail Road  and car-share services like Uber and Lyft).

New York on two wheels: What to know about the Five Boro Bike Tour

May 5 marks the 46th Five Boro Bike Tour in the city. Less than a year after the New York City Marathon became a five-borough course, the city’s cyclists decided to do their own version of the idea.

The first Five Boro Bike Tour took place in 1977, with only around 200-250 participants . Now, over 32,000 riders take part in what organizers say is more of a community than a competition.

What is the Five Boro Bike Tour?

The Five Boro Bike Tour is the cyclist’s annual opportunity to enjoy 40 miles of car-free roads in the city, including the chance to ride on city highways.

Bike New York, the nonprofit that manages the tour, says it’s the largest charitable bike ride in the world, with the proceeds funding free bike education programs.

When is the bike tour?

The tour starts on the morning of Sunday, May 5. The first waves start as early as 7:30 a.m. All cyclists will set off by 10:30 a.m.

The time it takes to complete the tour depends on your bicycle and experience level. Most cyclists report anywhere between three to five hours.

Where does the tour take riders?

Cyclists start the 40-mile, traffic-free route by gathering in Lower Manhattan and making their way up Sixth Avenue. The tour stretches through Central Park and Harlem before briefly crossing into the Bronx. It then makes its way along FDR Drive before going across the Queensboro Bridge into Long Island City. Next is a trip across the Pulaski Bridge into Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Then, the tour travels onto the BQE and the Gowanus Parkway, and then heads onto the lower level of the Verrazzano Bridge and into Staten Island.

Are there any major street closures to be aware of?

Yes, there are a number of closures in each of the five boroughs. A full list can be found here .

Can I still sign up?

Unfortunately, registration closed on April 12, but there are spots in each borough for spectators to cheer on and support cyclists along the route.

Cheer zones include Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Harlem, 138th Street and Third Ave in Mott Haven, off the exit of the Queensboro Bridge in Long Island City, near Seventh Street in Williamsburg and at the finish line at Fort Wadsworth.

I’m already signed up, but I don’t know where my start point is. What do I need to do?

Those registered should have received their wave assignment, including their start time and point of entry to the route, via email. They were emailed out between April 26 and April 29.

Also included in the email are the times and location riders can pick up their participation packet. It includes the racer ID plate and helmet cover required to take part in the tour.

Mother's Day on Long Island: 5 reasons to head east

Mother's Day, this Sunday, May 12, signals the peak of spring with the sun warming the grass and setting well past 7 p.m. On Long Island, an impromptu day trip out east could be just the way to celebrate, whether with scenic views, wine, or the bountiful seasonal produce that awaits. Grab your sunglasses (and your kids …), jump on the LIE, and beat the traffic.

Sit on the dock of the Bay in Sag Harbor

Overlooking Mill Creek and Noyak Bay, The Bell & Anchor celebrates Mother’s Day with a special brunch and dinner menus with a la carte options. Brunch choices include a classic eggs Benedict ($25) or lobster Benedict ($36), plus a house-smoked salmon plate ($24). Non-brunch dishes include appetizers like crispy portobello ($18) and burrata ($22), and entrees like pan-roasted salmon ($38), lobster garganelli pasta ($48) and roasted chicken breast ($36).

The Bell & Anchor, 3253 Noyac Rd., Sag Harbor, 631-725-3400, bellandanchor.com; Brunch: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Wiggle your toes in the sand in Montauk

The picturesque Navy Beach, located on 200 feet of Montauk sand overlooking Fort Pond Bay is one the East End’s best places to catch a sunset. This Sunday, there's a special three-course prix fixe menu ($55) for Mother's Day, with a complimentary glass of rosé for moms with their meal. Choose between clam and corn chowder, a Buddha bowl or Maine mussels and frites for starters, rigatoni ratatouille, Asian chicken salad or salmon for main courses. It's the chef’s choice for dessert.

Navy Beach, 16 Navy Rd., Montauk, 631-668-6868, navybeach.com , Open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.

Croteaux Vineyards is the only Long Island winery exclusively devoted to the perfectly pink wine. Seating at the Southold winery is first-come, first-served, and flights in the cozy pebbled garden — or on laid-back couches overlooking the vineyards — run $30 for six wines, bottles from $37 and glasses at $14. Bites include Moroccan olives, lobster roll sliders and fries.

Croteaux Vineyards, 1450 S. Harbor Rd., Southold, 631-765-6099, croteaux.com , Open daily noon to 6 p.m.

See Lieb Cellars’ newly renovated Tasting Room

In Cutchogue, the Lieb Tasting Room recently reopened under new ownership with an updated look featuring “natural materials, a modern color palette, and a blend of sleek and rustic fixtures,” said owner Renee Fondacaro. Founded in 1992, the 54-acre Lieb Cellars, known for Pinot Blanc, was purchased by its longtime winemaker, Russell Hearn, and his business partners. With a new menu, the space now features tufted leather banquettes, a private tasting area, bar and table seating. If it’s a nice day, head to the patio for picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Wine flights run $20-$30 and feature both of Hearn’s Lieb and Suhru wines, nibbles include build-your-own charcuterie boards (cheese, prosciutto, soppressatta, smoked trout).

Lieb Cellars Tasting Room, 13050 Oregon Rd., Cutchogue, 631-734-1100, liebcellars.com ; Open daily from noon to 6 p.m., reservations on Tock.

Have lobster for lunch at Meadowlark

On May 12, Macari’s Meadowlark, the wine bar that highlights the winery’s portfolio, is partnering with The Catered Fork to offer mom (and her entourage) a lobster roll and French fries alongside a half-glass of Macari Wines' sparkling rosé, Horses, and a half-glass of Macari's new release, 2023 Rosé. A special dessert from The Treatery completes the meal. Reservations available for parties up to 12, $65 a person.

Meadowlark, 24385 Main Rd., Cutchogue, meadowlarknorthfork.com, Open Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
