My wife and I were on the Dome Car We both had the Beef Short Ribs. The meal was excellent. The service was excellent. The scenery was very good. Read more Written May 10, 2024
  • C6177FCvanessaf 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A MUST 10/10 Experience! Such a wonderful experience. My partner and I went on the Vista Dome ride, elegant and luxurious. When arriving at the station you can relax with some drinks while waiting to board the train. I was amazed at how clean the station and train were. The bathrooms were very clean and everything was nicely put together. We were served a multiple-course gourmet meal and welcomed with sparkling wine on board. The food was delicious, the salmon and beef short rib was very favorable. Max, Sara, and Jorge were very nice and attentive the whole time. They made sure we were having fun, and that we had what we needed promptly. Everything was perfect, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Read more Written April 24, 2024
  • swatkins98 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Loved the wine train We took the legacy tour, and Marina and Jorge were excellent hosts! I highly recommend and would love to ride with this whole crew again! Our conductor was also such a personable guy and fun to chat with in between stops. The food was delicious and definitely welcome after tasting so many wines throughout the day. The stop at Charles Krug was beautiful, and our host, Sam, was very polite and personable. It was fascinating to hear the winery’s history in addition to tasting their wines. I was pleasantly surprised to taste a Malbec while there! I did not love the stop at V. Sattui. I don't think our host there does many of the tours since he kept referring to our group as "children." After hearing that a half dozen times, I just wanted the tasting to be over. I almost felt that way when he started the tour by bragging that weddings were for brides with a minimum 5 carats. Yes, beautiful grounds but I could do without the pretentiousness. Overall, it was still a fun experience! We loved the ride and sightseeing! The first stop at the Napa sign was fun even if we couldn’t get off the train since Jorge kept us busy with the wine train tastings. Read more Written April 20, 2024
  • abbye932 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Such a great day in Napa! We had heard great things, and the experience lived up to expectation. We opted for the Legacy (full day) experience. The dining cars had just been refurbished, and were warm and inviting while remaining true to the age of the train. Our server and Maitre'd were engaging, energetic, and clearly took great pride in creating a memorable day for guests. We started with a sparking wine toast and brunch on the way to our first stop. We then stopped at the iconic Napa Valley sign for photos and a wine tasting on board the open air car. Then proceeded to 2 vineyards, Charles Krug and V. Stattui. At each of those stops we were granted a tour of the grounds and tastings. As we traveled we were served a delicious lunch, a cheese course, and a decadent dessert on the way back. The whole day felt luxurious while remaining approachable and fun. Read more Written April 10, 2024
  • rtdugan 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Make space in your budget to do this We rode the tasting on the rails last night and had a blast. We are both wine and train nerds so this experience was a perfect combo. We got to enjoy the winery views for the first half and then as the sun set, got to enjoy all the details of the Pullman car. The food was delicious. My husband is a foodie and I eat like a toddler and we both enjoyed the food. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful but also gave us space to just “be”. Note about the price: It is worth the price. We decided this would be our one big splurge on the trip and we wouldn’t buy as much wine on our trip to afford it. We are glad we spent the money. I highly recommend it if your budget will allow. Read more Written April 7, 2024

  • Gr82BT_TX 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles It's a MUST! when in Napa What a wonderful experience. If you're planning a trip to Napa, this is a must! We did the "Legacy" tour. The food throughout the day is chef's kiss! The stops/tours of the diff. wineries and tastings was most beautiful, educational and enjoyable. The staff were all more than wonderful. • mattmL5799AB 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Best Birthday Experiance! We did the wine train for my wife's birthday and we both loved our experience! The food was gourmet and excellent. the staff was so engaging and fun and gave lots of great details about the different wineries and the area that we went through. We started with a late breakfast of eggs benedict over round hash browns and a wonderful little salad. Maria, our train host, gave us a lot of unique facts about the places we were seeing out the window as we ate our brunch. We then stopped at the Napa Valley Sign and Jorge explained the different wines we were having during the wine tasting. Then we sat down for lunch as we watched the valley go by. Both the vegetarian lunch option my wife had as well as my pork tenderloin were beyond tasty. The two vineyards we went to were unique and the tastings were fun! Finally, as we went back down the valley we were served a rich dessert and had a dance lesson from Jorge. This experience was top notch! It is a six hour experience that is well worth the money. Additionally we have nothing but good things to say about the staff as Maria and Jorge shined and were very lovely! Read more Written April 1, 2024
  • 883vickim 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Wonderful vegan lunch Took the legacy tour with a friend. I am vegan and the train chefs made me a beautiful vegan four course menu. Loved the train and the beautiful carriages. Enjoyed the welcome drink - although would have preferred the sparkling wine to have been from California. Staff on train were warm and friendly. Ended up making friends on the train as the day went on, then ended up having a dance in the end dance carriage on the way home! Only downside was the wine tasting on the train, think they were sub par wines and we were served some with dregs of the bottle in the glass. But otherwise was fab. Read more Written March 4, 2024
  • R9022WYcharlesw 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Views, Vino and Voila! The Napa area had been experiencing a lot of rain. The vines were barren but the Mustard greens were in full bloom, the hills were green. The views were gorgeous. Napa did not disappoint us. Being able to relax and have tremendous views without traffic and driving was extremely nice. The food and wine on the train were very good. The music was engaging. We danced in the club car. We visited two super wineries. The staff were great, we especially appreciated Miguel and Marina. Read more Written February 10, 2024
  • Departure09050783575 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Not worth the cost We were very disappointed in the wine experience - stingy and oversold pours and superficial wine tasting experiences at the hosting wineries. Very overpriced. The train experience was amazing and the food excellent but didn’t warrant the cost of $1500 CDN for two by any stretch. The hype didn’t help and we left very disappointed. • luzmebius19 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Thanks I went to celebrate my birthday, I didn't like the accommodation on the train, I felt excluded, we were at the end of the train very close to the toilets, but we tried not to pay much attention to the accommodation. and almost all the food was served cold. Thanks to the waitress she was very professional. Read more Written January 30, 2024
  • MMRawlins91 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles First Time Wine Train We recently visited the wine train on a quick girls weekend to Napa and Sonoma. The train is beautiful and the service was great. The food was good, about what you would expect from an upscale kitchen located on a train. It would have been nice to have known about the lounge cars and the open air window car prior to arriving back into Napa - we would have liked to have had the opportunity to get a picture while the train was running past the beautiful estates outside of town. A quick FYI, although I did not expect a completely smooth ride because of the age of the cars, the swaying can be moderate to significant in a few locations. Someone who suffers from severe motion sickness might want to take somethig prior to boarding. :) Read more Written January 30, 2024
  • KulturewithKatrina 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A dream come true! Get your Bougie on! My friend and I participated in the wine train on Jan 15th in honor of my birthday. We did the Legacy Experience with Nick as our host and Jai as our server. They did a fabulous job keeping us up to date on the itinerary, timelines, courses, and lovely entertainment! I highly recommend them for the Legacy Experience. And, it was everything I dreamed it would be! The food, the wine, the landscape, the people. And the wine knowledge of everyone involved was fascinating and impressive. The best of the best touched the whole experience. Pros: - Intimate VIP Experience - Nice bathrooms on board - Beautiful cars - Fine dining of the food prepared in the onboard kitchen - Personalized tours at each of the wineries - Staff was very attentive to other persons that needed more accessible paths, without singling them out. Cons: - I couldn't stay longer :) - More wineries please! Read more Written January 29, 2024
  • Leslie A. Y 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Fun afternoon on the wine train This was our first ride on the train, and we took the lunch ride with a stop at Grgich Hills winery. THe service and food on the train was really good - nice options and great tasting. Glad we were able to break up the ride by getting off the train and touring the winery,. It is not the best winery in Napa, but met the goal. I think the half day ride is plenty, but others may enjoy being on the train all day. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and learned a great deal about Napa and wine making while on the train. Read more Written January 29, 2024
