This Kwik Trip super fan made it her 2021 goal to visit Wisconsin's 457 Kwik Trips. She did it.

If you have big goals for the new year, you might want to look to Cassandra Berger for inspiration.

In 2021, the Onalaska woman smashed one of the most Midwestern goals ever.

She visited all 457 Kwik Trips that existed in Wisconsin as of Jan. 1, 2021.

"I love all things Kwik Trip," she said.

A few years ago, Berger started making "random, silly" videos about the beloved convenience store chain and posted them on Facebook. Kwik Trip took notice and would sometimes share them on its page, she said.

In 2020, Berger contacted the company with an idea for a commercial. Kwik Trip got back to her and asked if she would ever want to be in one of their upcoming commercials, she said. Berger ended up being in one later that year.

About a month after filming, she reached out to the company again, this time with the idea to create a persona called "KT Girl" with the mission to visit every Wisconsin Kwik Trip in 2021.

She broke the state down into sections. When she would get a free day, she'd map out a route, then hit the road.

She'd typically visit between 10 and 20 at a crack. The most she went to in a single day was 52.

Berger said the best part of her stops was chatting with employees and customers to find out what they loved about Kwik Trip and their favorite products. Sometimes, she'd also get snacks or gasoline.

Creating videos about her adventures

Berger documents her adventures in a YouTube series in partnership with the company called "KT Bound with Cassandra: A story of love, adventure, & a regional gas station."

Her favorite is one she did with Kwik Trip president and CEO Don Zietlow at a grand opening in Omro.

Berger has also created one of her getting her first tattoo — a "KT" on her ring finger; a competition featuring her friends to see who could make the best charcuterie board using Kwik Trip foods; a shopping trip with her nephews that was followed up with a taste-testing of their purchases; and more.

She films the videos on her iPhone and edits the footage in iMovie. Then Kwik Trip adds an animated intro and outro, she said. Berger is a "paid influencer." Her payments? Kwik Trip apparel, gas gift cards and more.

"It's been a really great opportunity and I'm so grateful for Kwik Trip for trusting me with these videos," she said. "It's just been an awesome experience."

Hitting her goal

To keep track of every store she visited, Berger snapped a Polaroid picture at each and also kept an Excel spreadsheet.

She hit store No. 457 in mid-December. When new locations opened during 2021, she said she did her best to get to those as well.

"It's always great to accomplish a goal, but now I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm sad it's over,' " she said. "I had so much fun traveling around Wisconsin. I didn't know all of the beautiful areas, especially up in northern Wisconsin."

Berger, who's the head women's lacrosse coach for the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, was born and raised in Iowa.

Kwik Trip has been her "go to" gas station for a while, she said, but her love for it reached a new level while she was attending the University of Dubuque in Iowa for both her undergraduate and masters degrees. There, it's called Kwik Star.

So why does she love it so much? The snacks, the doughnuts, the "Hot Spot" food, the variety and how easy it is to find one.

"It's a one-stop shop," she said. "You can get everything you need."

Berger said she is always thinking about what she could do next with Kwik Trip and plans to continue making videos about them.

"My love for Kwik Trip doesn't stop here," she said.

A Wisconsin woman embarked on quite the journey last year. Her goal was to visit every single Kwik Trip in the state – all 457 of them.

ONALASKA, Wis. - A Wisconsin woman embarked on quite the journey last year. Her goal was to visit every single Kwik Trip in the state – all 457 of them.

When you think of Wisconsin, you might think of the Milwaukee Brewers, or maybe beer or cheese, but some people put Kwik Trip in that same category. A La Crosse area woman says she is the store's number one fan.

Cassandra Berger is energetic and eccentric, and her love for Kwik Trip runs deep.

"I will drive out of the way or the extra 10 minutes if there is a Kwik Trip," said Berger.

Berger says the obsession with the gas station and convenience store started while in college.

"Oh my gosh, I could go on and on!" said Berger. "I don't know about you. I feel extremely comfortable knowing that, OK, if there is a Kwik Trip coming up, then I'm good. That's where I'm going to go."

The 27-year-old Onalaska resident told the media team at Kwik Trip of her love for their store and pitched an idea.

"The goal was to hit all of Wisconsin's Kwik Trips between January 1st of last year to December 31st, so I had a year to hit 457 Kwik Trips," said Berger. "Then someone had the idea of KT Girl and I was like, 'That's it! KT Girl takes on Wisconsin.' Like, it all kind of fell into place."

She's considered a paid influencer by Kwik Trip.

"I'm single. I don't have a family. I just have a couple dogs," said Berger. "This is my time to do something like this."

She even enlisted the help of her friend for a photo shoot inside a Kwik Trip.

"She had booked with me a 30-minute session, was supposed to be 35 pics, but I think I sent her 100 and some," said Tatum Miller.

Miller said while they were shooting, they had plenty of funny looks sent their way.

"Like, who does that?" said Miller. "Like, who becomes a fan of a gas station and then turns it into something cool? I don't know how you do that, but she did," said Miller.

Berger says her journey was exhausting.

"Like, my obsession doesn't stop, right?" said Berger. "I am going to continue to share my love for Kwik Trip with people 'cause that's just how I am."

Berger is originally from northeast Iowa, and in Iowa, Kwik Trip is called Kwik Star. Eventually, she'd like to take on hitting up every Kwik Star in her home state.
