Hay Day: Sanctuary; Where is it, how do you get it and what does it do?

When it comes to the long game, Hay Day has a lot to offer to players who have been around for a long time. Often, you might get curious about what is coming next or you might see something on someone else's farm and wonder what it is.

How to unlock the Sanctuary in Hay Day

Then, getting to the town is easy. Once in the town, you will need to get your reputation up. You will do this by gaining reputation points, from filling orders from town visitors. These visitors can be found in the service buildings they want to visit. You can earn more points per visitor through upgrading service buildings, however, you only need to get to level 3 to unlock the Sanctuary.

What does Hay Day Sanctuary let you do?

These puzzle pieces can be found in mystery boxes, special events, derbies, or through completing boats that are marked with a puzzle piece. If you find a puzzle piece, it will go directly to the logbook to be displayed. These puzzles do have a sequence to them - the first animal of each type must be unlocked before a puzzle piece is given for the second animal of that type. Baby animals are unlocked after their adult versions are too.

Town visitors will want to see specific animals at the end of their stay at a player’s town - if they get to see the animal they are looking for, they will leave an extra gift next to the book stand. These gifts can be coins, vouchers, supplies or diamonds. You can end up getting a lot of extra XP and gifts if you get your sanctuary up and running quickly.

Sanctuary decorations

Sanctuary decorations are decorations found in the Sanctuary tab.

They come as rewards for unlocking sanctuary animals in the town . Each unlocked animal unlocks two different decorations. The two items are given for free once, when players unlock the animal. It is up to the player to place them down. Players then have to spend coins or vouchers to buy more items.

Sanctuary decorations are unlocked at reputation level 3.

Hay Day Guide: The Working Farm Animals

Hay Day farming is a tough job requiring time and patience to complete all the work and keep the farm animals in line. Below we talk about the different working animals you can get for your farm by playing Hay Day .

There are an assortment of different working farm animals and a few animals just hanging around eating and having fun.

The working animals you keep in handy pens, which you buy using coins as you increase in levels. The non-working animals you buy using vouchers that are available as you go up in levels playing Hay Day .

• Unlock at level 1
• Feed chickens Chicken Feed made of wheat and corn
• Kept in Chicken Coop
• Produces eggs
• Twenty minutes to produce
• 1-6 chickens cost 10 coins
• 7-12 chickens 140 coins
• 13-18 270 coins
• Unlock cows at level 5 on Hay Day
• 1 hour production time
• Feed using Cow Feed
• Produces tasty milk you can sell every hour playing Hay Day
• Keep up to five cows in Cow Pasture
• Use milk to make cream, butter and cheese to sell
• Feed cats using milk
• 1-5 cows costs 300 each

The farm animals described above are the working animals on your farm available as you progress through the game. These animals are the production crew on the farm and provide the majority of the goods and products you sell.

Puzzle pieces are a type of in-game currency that is used to unlock animals in your sanctuary. Each animal in your log book has a puzzle, you will need to collect all puzzle pieces for a specific animal to unlock it. Each puzzle contains 36 puzzle pieces that will require unlocking before being able to get the animal.

When the animal is unlocked you will need to purchase the correct shelter to store your animals in. If you have the correct shelter then you will be able to place your animal into your sanctuary.

Having more animals in your sanctuary can help you to get more XP and rewards as visitors from your town visit them. Visitors will request to see specific animals by visiting your logbook stand.

The animals in the sanctuary include elephants, giraffes, hippos, and zebras.

How to get puzzle pieces on Hay Day

There are a number of different methods how you can obtain puzzle pieces on Hay Day. We have tried and tested all of the different methods below which has resulted in us being able to collect a good amount of puzzle pieces.

The different methods how to get puzzle pieces on Hay Day are through:

Puzzle boats

Puzzle boats are a unique type of boat that can show up on your dock. Completing the shipment order will result in you obtaining a puzzle piece when the order is fully completed.

Puzzle boats are identified by a puzzle piece being present on the deck. They are completely random and can come at any point to your farm. There are also special events that can increase the chances of you getting a puzzle boat.

Puzzle pieces can be obtained in the valley on Hay Day. They can either be given out as random rewards or exchanged for tokens in the Valley store.

This method is completely random as the store in the valley may show different rewards for different players at the same time. If you need puzzle pieces then you should save your tokens for when they are available in the shop.

The Wheel of Fortune

Puzzle pieces can sometimes be present on the Wheel of Fortune on Hay Day. This is where you have the chance to spin the wheel to win a random reward from the board.

If you have the farm pass or excess diamonds you can get extra spins on the Wheel. The wheel will turn up on a daily basis with different rewards that can be won.

Derby Rewards

Puzzle pieces can sometimes be obtained through the horseshoe rewards in the derby. These rewards are given out after you reach derby threshold points by completing tasks in derbies.

The rewards are completely random and will refresh with each derby that you take place in.

Mystery Boxes

Puzzle pieces can be found in mystery boxes and crates that can appear on your farm. These boxes can appear randomly on your farm, other players farms, and in your town.

Some mystery boxes can be unlocked for free whilst some will require diamonds to unlock. If you are searching for a specific puzzle piece then we would recommend using diamonds to open it if you have plenty. For anything else do not use diamonds as the rewards in mystery boxes are completely random.

“Sanctuary on a wet day” Review of Hleb Nasushny

A lovely cafe with a bakery attached. The food tastes as good as it looks. Pleasant and very helpful staff and excellent service especially for a non-Russian speaker like me. A very relaxed atmosphere let me while away three quarters of an hour and only more locations to bag made me leave. One to definitely revisit

Not often, but time to time I visit this cafe and last time I was surprised to see working staff not smile and not so friendly anymore!!! They did not say a word of welcome when we entered inside to, just looked blankly at us. Tables, chairs and benches were dirty a bit. Young staff with a MOURNING expression on their faces. What are they doing in the service business?.. Seems like they spend a time for nothing!.. Or is it a problem with management competence?!. And after that I really didn't want to stay in this place. Food was quite good, simple and fresh cooked. Hummus was good, salads we had were good as well...

Loved the macaroons here recommend all to try them . Located In the center of Moscow city its pretty easy to locate this place.

Was next to our hotel and had amazing service. We wondered in there, new to Russia and the waiter greeted us in such a friendly manner and revealed he could speak perfect English. He provided us with an English menu and was so nice! The food was fantastic. Fresh pastries, a breakfast and lunch menu. And all at insanely reasonable prices! Highly recommended. I hope the waiter reads this and remembers the two English girls he gave the love hearts to on international woman's day! You were amazing!

Was looking for some lunch while my wife was sleeping in the hotel. Found this little gem and decided to give it a try.. Haven't looked back since! The food is outstanding and the service is wonderful! Fresh homemade bread and cakes along with some of the best made coffee I've ever had! Breakfast is just as incredible! If in Moscow, go there!! PS. When my wife woke up, I took her there for a second lunch.. Very happy!

Day trip to Yasnaya Polyana from Moscow: transport, sights, tips, advices

Main Sights

Of course the main sight here is the Yasnaya Polyana estate itself. Located within the estate are the house where Tolstoy lived plus the auxiliary buildings of the estate which now contain exhibits dedicated to the work of peasants in running the estate.

The natural surroundings of the estate are also a highlight and don't forget to visit Tolstoy's simple grave on the territory of the estate.

During the low season from November until April, it is possible to visit the main house by yourself and take an audio guide (Russian, English, French or German). However from April until November you can only join a Russian group excursion.

Excursions around Yasnaya Polyana are held about every hour - tickets are bought at the ticket office next to the main gates. Excursions start there as well.

During the excursion, you will visit the central part of the estate, the Tolstoy House, and the exhibition in the Kuzminsky House.

Some exciting activities are offered by the museum including horse riding, carriage rides or sleigh rides, and tea drinking at the Coachmen's house with an interactive tour of a traditional Russian peasant's hut. In summer, excursions on bikes around places connected with Tolstoy are also organised. Activities should be booked in advance by email.

There is a little cafe called Prishpekt located just opposite the main gates where you can buy tea, pies and some hot dishes. Two kilometres from the Yasnaya Polyana estate, there is a restaurant and cafe and places where you can spend the night.

Visiting Tula

Three to five hours is enough to see all the sights and museums of the estate. So you should have time to go back to Tula and have a quick look around before heading back to Moscow. You could also make the trip into a weekend trip by spending the night and next day in Tula, which is worth a day-trip in itself as the city has a nice Kremlin and is associated in Russia with samovars, weapons and the Russian equivalent of gingerbread known as a 'pryanik'. Suggested Timetable

Here is our suggested timetable for making the most of a day-trip to Yasnaya Polyana. All train and bus times are approximate as the exact time may change.

There are a few souvenirs shops near the car park for the estate where you can buy standard Russian souvenirs such as Russian dolls and some local ones dedicated to the estate, Tolstoy and his work.
