Get to see a lot of historic buildings. (Churches and palaces galore)
Enjoyable trip, nicely organized with good facilities. (Busses, hotels, breakfasts). Most of the guides were informative and helpful. A couple of minor issues with the tour, that are correctable. The Grinzing dinning evening needs to be extended and the visit to the Diamond Museum doesn’t really fit into the clientele that we’re with my group. The last two tour guides in France and England appeared to be struggling with their English presentation. Perhaps a better organizing between keeping English and Spanish travellers with their own. I found that we had well passed a feature artifact by the time the Spanish explanation was finnished. So twice the amount of time needed to announce the tour without enough time blocked in. While in Budapest the earpieces provided failed if you were 10 meters away. So although informative, the guides time and travellers experience is compromised. Other wise I got to see what I wanted at a fair price.

Spectacular experience with brilliant tour director
Haggis Adventures

This is a fantastic company. Tour guide brilliant. Would recommend. Plan to do another tour with HAGGIS ADVENTURES
The destinations and the guide were excellent! Dusty is an excellent guide and did an amazing job of keeping us informed and on time. The only area I would say needs to be changed is the size of the bus seats. When driving around for 5 days the seats are small and not as comfortable as other tours.

Travel vs time at locations was a bit travel heavy but it was a good trip, saw alot.
well organized, good people

The guide and bus driver: Tom and Yiordan were amazing people. The schedule was my problem. I don’t mind the early hours to leave a location. It was the arriving late to a destination that bothered me. We stopped along the way in places that could have been shortened or not stopped at all! For example, the museum, parks, etc. That way we could have seen more of Belfast, Glasgow, and other big cities. etc. It’s seemed that we always arrived late and nothing to do! Also many of the otels were too far center and OLD without working lifts, etc.
Nothing grand about this tour, in no particular order, no meet and greet with others or group leader, major discussion about paying crazy gratuity to guide and driver within an hour of departure, driving way to fast and in my opinion in a dangerous way for the duration of the drivers term even making passengers vomit. The whole trip was one big rush rush rush with only 3 hotels of any quality the rest total rubbish some even without lifts, Only one supplied evening dinner was of quality but was spoiled by the operator as we didn’t arrive until after 8 pm to eat. I could go on but simply say it was rubbish and not recommended to anyone you are friends with.

Loved the trip! Our guide was amazing!
Excellent guide and driver. Itinerary was good. Hotel experiences were a bit uneven.

While the travel and hotels was well organized, I was disappointed that I was not told before hand that it was a bilingual tour. There was very little English commentary throughout. Would only suggest this tour if you want to go around places and are happy to do self reading.
Jose the tourist guide was excellent, the hotels except for the last one were very good, the landscape and scenery was amazing, very recommended
Overland Ireland - Small Gr…

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The tour was well organized, informative and fun. The small group size was definitely a plus. It allowed the group to interact well. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend this tour.
The tour offered good value for money. It delivered on the promised itinerary and provided a good insight to the culture and history of Ireland.
MacBackpackers

This tour is exactly what's advertised - a 5 day introduction to the wonders of the Scottish highlands. Our guide Neil was exceptional, and I loved his storytelling, humor, and music playlist. More importantly, the tour was curated very well. There were multiple options we could choose from each day, based on what the group's interests were. We chose more hiking-focused activities. Isle of Skye, and the highlands in general is magical, and Macbackpackers is the perfect tour operator is you are a young dude or dudette. On Skye, Neil took us to some amazing hidden-gem trails - will definitely return on a longer trip! It was a balanced itinerary, with very diverse experiences (eg- Swimming in loch ness, lots of waterfalls, dancing in Oban was amazing). Finally, the group was easy going, and it was very easy to get along and become friends.
Amazing tour! Our guide Neil was funny and engaging, lovely experience. Would highly, highly recommend for Scotland!

Best tour guide, best driver
My Mom and I absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide Alex was so kind and thoughtful. He took very good care of us! Our bus driver Craig was also amazing. My Mom is 88 and Craig was so good to make sure she got down the bus stairs safely! Scotland and England are beautiful countries filled with rich history!

Great accommodation and food in Portree Comfortable bus seats, particularly the smaller bus, Thoroughly enjoyed having Connor as our guide, a great storyteller, friendly. Stunning scenery, we were lucky with weather
The trip was awesome! Our guide, Alistair, was kind and super knowledgeable! We were able to see/experience a little bit of everything and appreciate the rich history and beauty of the Highlands. I definitely recommend this trip to anyone curious about Scotland.

I can't say enough wonderful things about our Contiki trip manager, Rianna, who truly deserves the title of Tour Guide of the Year! Her empathy, kindness, and dedication to our group were evident every single day. She has this unique ability to connect with each person and make everyone feel comfortable, no matter the situation. Her patience is unmatched, and her enthusiasm is contagious – I’ve genuinely never seen someone so happy to push through every challenge just to make our experience unforgettable. What truly sets her apart is how she approaches each day with a smile, even if she may be facing her challenges or adversities. She brings a warm aura and an uplifting presence to the group, making everyone feel at home, no matter how far from home we actually are. Regardless of the personality or demands of any traveler – even the most challenging among us – she greets and helps everyone with grace, kindness, and an unparalleled level of support. She constantly goes above and beyond, always anticipating our needs and creating special moments that made this trip feel both personal and one-of-a-kind. Her unwavering commitment, compassion, and resilience transformed every day into something extraordinary. She is truly an inspiration as both a guide and as a person in general. I am so grateful to have met her and experienced her talent as a guide. When i mentioned my next travel plan she went above and beyond to recommend two great places & showed me photos and videos of them. Thank you for an unforgettable experience Ri. You made my first big solo adventure one I’m not sure I can ever beat!
Dem was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge of every place we went really helped to solidify the experience and I learnt a lot through her fun stories and ways of explaining things. She became more than our trip manager she became our friend and our person if we needed anything she was always willing to help

Stephen B was our tour guide and he was excellent. The only thing that might have been better was I would have liked to hear more of his stories and anecdotes as he was very entertaining.
Guides were excellent. 8 day tour should have remained with one guide/group. Was not expecting a split tour. Check in was confusing as not advised properly of guide/bus that we were travelling with. Travelled with other couple and both were told different guide names of which were both wrong.

The best tour ever! Had an absolute ball, the perfect amount of time to be on a tour, saw so much and meet so many awesome people! Would definitely recommend to anyone :)
I had a wonderful time on my tour, largely due to the incredible guidance of Jude and driver Ioannis. They made a fantastic team and without them the trip wouldn’t have been the same. Jude went above and beyond, organising informal group events for us, recommending places/food/attractions, helping us when we got into sticky situations. She was such a positive energy and shared anything and everything we could have wanted or needed to know and was really passionate about the travel and the history she was getting to share with us. Ioannis was equally passionate and helpful, providing us with advice on which places to visit, humour to get us through the long bus trips, and expert driving skills making us all feel comfortable whenever we had a long drive day.

United kingdom.
Regal. Charming. Scenic.
Comprised of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the United Kingdom definitely has dozens of reasons worth leaving home for. Mountains, valleys, hills and dales, forests and gardens, oh and no less than 25 UNESCO World Heritage sites scattered throughout, are but a few. You will find a slew of cathedrals, castles, palaces and country houses spanning history. Centuries of inspiring the world, influencing the arts, and forming natural beauty have developed this land into one great nation.
Destination Must-See's
A world in a city is a common way to describe the metropolis of London, the capital of England. A cultural melting pot of over 230 nationalities, London is the financial, political and cultural capital of the UK. It is booming with activity and bursting with sightseeing treasures. You’ll find historic highlights from the haunting Tower of London to the ornate Buckingham Palace and more modern attractions such as the world-famous Harrods department store and the towering London Eye.
The capital city and second most populous in Scotland, Edinburgh has been recognized for its historic and cultural attractions. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK after London. Great shopping, historic architecture and great Scottish whisky are just part of its allure. Its greatest draw is Edinburgh Castle. This sprawling medieval castle and fortress sits atop Castle Rock in the city center, dominating Edinburgh’s skyline.
Giant’s Causeway:
At the foot of the basalt cliffs on the coast of Northern Ireland’s County of Antrim lies the stunning Giant’s Causeway. Travelers flock to this UNESCO World Heritage site to experience the 40,000 massive dark columns rising from the sea. The natural phenomena has sparked legends of giants and magic, but its unique geology points to volcanic activity from over 50 million years ago. The Giant’s Causeway is a beautiful sight and the experience of a lifetime.
Cornwall, a region located on a peninsula in southwest England, is comprised of many different towns and villages that feature beautiful beaches and picturesque coastlines. Bordered by the Celtic Sea and the English Channel, one of its most popular towns is St. Ives. This seaside port town just north of Penzance on the coast of the Celtic Sea is known as the art center of West Cornwall and has a sub-tropical feel and beautiful beaches.
Destination Must-Do's
England’s Lake District:
Lose yourself in the natural beauty of this mountainous region in northwest England dotted with tranquil lakes. One of the picturesque villages in the region is Grasmere, once home of and inspiration to the romantic poet William Wordsworth. Perhaps you will take a sail on one of the lakes and take in the peaceful backdrop of lush green mountains, serene shorelines and pristine calm waters dotted with tiny islands.
Stonehenge:
Walk in the footsteps of so many before you when visiting prehistoric Stonehenge. This mysterious rock formation dates back to the Stone Age and remains one of the world’s most famous sites. Standing in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, Stonehenge is perhaps the most important prehistoric monument in England. The experience of seeing this timeless monument is not to be missed – it will surely be a highlight of your visit.
This large, deep freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extends approximately 23 miles southwest of the city of Inverness. Loch Ness is best known for the alleged sightings of the Loch Ness monster. While Loch Ness is not the largest Scottish loch by surface area, it is the largest by volume, with its deepest point at 755 feet. Along the shore, you will find the ruins of Urquhart Castle. This once mighty site rests on the headwaters of Loch Ness and dates back as far as the 13th century.
Prepare to step back in time in the English countryside. The Cotswolds are roughly 25 miles across and 90 miles long, stretching from Stratford-upon-Avon to Bath. The region is known for its small towns and villages with homes made from golden colored Cotswold stone and grass roofs that sit among lush greenery and rolling hills. Stratford-upon-Avon is perhaps its most famous town. Lying along the River Avon, it’s famed for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare, one of the world’s great playwrights. Be sure to make a trip to see the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Expert Advice
Think “go to the right.” It is their natural flow of traffic even when it comes to walking. It is important to not only look both ways when crossing the street, but also when on an escalator, stand to the right. When walking down the street, stay alert and follow the flow – to the right.
Expect to be offered tea, a lot. The British love their tea and not only during afternoon tea, any time for any reason. But you should know there is a “proper” way to drink it. The rules are – sit up straight, do not blow on it, take small sips with your pinky down, and put the cup on the saucer between sips. Now you are prepared to sip away.
Bring a raincoat and umbrella, as it rains one out of three days in the UK. It does vary from region to region, but generally speaking, they are important items to have on hand at all times.
