Travel + Leisure / Marcus Millán

One of my most well-used travel accessories that I always have on hand is a portable charger. As a travel writer who works on the go, I need to make sure my phone and laptop stay charged up. Whether you encounter an airport with no charging stations, or the outlet for your airplane seat doesn’t work, a portable charger comes in handy without fail.

From a compact option that tops off your phone to a heartier model that charges your laptop or tablet, there’s a portable power bank for all types of travelers’ needs. With so many choices available, we’ve narrowed down your search by prioritizing features like portability, battery capacity, functionality, and power. Read on to find the best 15 portable chargers of 2024 to make sure you’re connected wherever your travels take you.

Best Overall

Anker 3-in-1 portable iphone charger.

It can charge two devices simultaneously.

The USB-C cord is not retractable.

Anker is always my go-to brand for a portable charger, and this 3-in-1 model is our top pick for its features and fast charging. We appreciate that it can charge an iPhone 15 Pro to full battery in approximately 50 minutes, and the device itself can be charged up within two hours. At full capacity, it has the ability to recharge most phones almost two times. I also love how the wall plug flips down for easy storage, and the built-in USB-C cord means you won’t lose it as a separate part. I also really like that the digital display indicates how much power the power bank has and the versatility to charge my phone, tablet, or laptop. You can also charge two devices at once. A built-in temperature monitor keeps the device from overheating, as well. This portable charger fits in my travel purse , carry-on backpack compartment, or even my pocket if needed.

The Details: 4.25 x 1.97 x 1.22 inches | 8.82 ounces | 10,000 mAh | Inputs: 2 USB-C | Outputs: 1 USB-C, 1 USB-C cable

Best With Built-in Cords

Charmast portable charger.

In addition to its four built-in cables, it has a sleek and slim profile and its own carrying pouch.

The device takes longer to charge than other models on this list.

No need to pack extra pesky cords with the Charmast Portable Charger. It comes with six outputs and three inputs built into the device, rendering it compatible with almost anything you’d need to top up. I love the fact that the cords all tuck into the bottom of the device, instead of dangling off. This means it can charge several devices at once and when you’re traveling, which is clutch. Everything from a Samsung or iPhone to a tablet or laptop can be refueled so you can stay connected. This portable charger can fill most phone batteries almost two times before it needs to be recharged itself, and the digital display shows how much battery remains. This power bank claims to charge in 1.5 to three hours, depending on how you charge it. With its lightweight and superthin design, it’ll fit in most pockets without taking up any space or adding heft to your bag.

The Details: 5.68 x 2.63 x 0.69 inches | 8.5 ounces | 10,000 mAh | Inputs: 1 micro USB, 1 USB-C, 1 USB-A cable | Outputs: 2 USB-C, 2 USB, 1 lightning cable,  1 micro USB cable

We appreciate its ability to charge your phone to 60 percent in just 30 minutes because when you’re traveling, you often don’t have any time to waste. Also impressive is the fact that it can charge most phones two to three times before needing a charge itself. It comes with its own travel pouch and can charge up to three devices at the same time. This is the type of charger you can put in your packable jacket pocket to refuel your phone while hiking, without missing a beat.

We love how powerful the IFIDOL Wireless Portable Charger is, offering up to 60 hours of extra video playtime. Compatible with the iPhone 12 and up, it can charge your phone up to 50 percent in about half an hour. The digital display shows not just the remaining power, but also charging statuses for both wireless and lightning charging. We appreciate having the flexibility between a USB-C cord for the fastest charge (22W) or wireless charging at the also quick 15W speed. As a bonus, it comes with a low-current mode for smaller items like airpods. At full capacity, it has the ability to charge most compatible iPhone models two times. The magnet is strong, so your phone won’t detach while you’re on the go, either. We love the built-in circuit and overcharging protection, too, making it safe to travel with.

The Details: 4.5 x 2.7 x 0.6 inches | 7.8 ounces | 16,000 mAh | Input: USB-C | Output: USB-C

Best With Stand

Aoguerbe magnetic power bank.

The kickstand folds up for compact storage.

It’s recommended to use it with a MagSafe phone case or without a case to get enough suction for better grip.

When you need to use a wireless charger but don’t want to stop watching that movie during your flight, the AOGUERBE Magnetic Power Bank has you covered with a built-in, sturdy kickstand. It will hold your phone up, vertically or horizontally, while refueling your device. It’s compatible with iPhone 12 models and up and can charge them up to 1.5 times at full capacity, which takes approximately two hours. We appreciate how this charger is lightweight and packable (the kickstand folds back seamlessly) and is small enough that it won’t block your camera while charging, so you can still use it while exploring. The built-in smart chip and temperature control ensures the charger won’t overcharge or short circuit your phone, while the digital display keeps you in the loop on battery levels.

The Details: 4.09 x 2.68 x 0.86 inches | 6.7 ounces | 10,000 mAh | Inputs: 1 USB-C, 1 lightning port | Outputs: 1 USB-C, 1 USB-A

Best for Tablets

Eggtronic laptop power bank.

It can charge your tablet up to four times.

Due to its powerful capacity, it’s larger and heavier than other power bank models on this list.

We love the powerhouse Eggtronic Laptop Power Bank for many reasons: it has the capacity to charge multiple devices twice as fast as standard models, and it boasts a relatively compact size and sleek design. This universally compatible power bank can refuel the battery on not just your smartphone or tablet, but also laptops, cameras, bluetooth devices, and more. The LCD display shows the current battery life so you can stay up to date on its capacity. This durable device is a great travel companion for anyone — from professionals who need to stay in touch on the road and want the freedom to work from anywhere to those exploring the great outdoors on a multi-day camping trip . When it’s time to recharge the power bank itself, it’ll only take about three hours, which is impressive for such a powerful device.

The Details: 6.75 x 4 x 0.63 inches | 1.35 pounds | 20,000 mAh | Input: 1 USB-C | Outputs: 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C

Best for Laptops

Anker laptop power bank.

It can fully charge a MacBook Air in two to three hours.

The priciest option on the list, it’s on the heavier side and might not be necessary if you don’t travel with a laptop often.

For travelers who are working en route to their destination and need to keep their laptop constantly charged, the Anker 747 Power Bank is our top choice. Compatible with a wide range of brands, including Dell and Apple, this power bank can refuel computer batteries in anywhere from two to three hours. Charge up to four devices at once, and enjoy the power bank’s long-lasting capacity, which can power an iPhone 13 Pro up to five times before needing to be charged itself. Paired with the included Anker 65W 515 wall charger, this power bank can reach 100 percent in two and a half hours (a standard 5W charger can take more than 17 hours). Built-in sensors offer advanced temperature control to make sure the device doesn’t overheat while the battery management system prevents overcharging.

It doesn’t come with a wall adapter for recharging the device.

For those who need to charge multiple devices at a time, the INIU Slim 10000mAh Charger can handle refueling three at once. The power bank comes with three built-in A-outputs as well as a built-in LED flashlight. This portable charger has the impressive ability to recharge an iPhone up to almost 80 percent in an hour. At full capacity, it can charge an iPhone 3.6 times, a Samsung S22 1.8 times, and smaller items like AirPods more than 13 times. We like that it comes with its own travel pouch and can easily fit in a small personal item or your pocket, thanks to its ultrathin profile. The USB-C is an in-and-out port, making it easier to charge the device, as well.

Best Fast Charging

Ohoviv portable charger.

It’s powerful and great for fast charging up to three devices at once.

Because of the high 33,800 mAh power rating, it can’t be taken on an airplane

For a speedy top up on your phone or other devices on the go, the OHOVIV Portable Charger is our top pick. We appreciate the ability to charge more than one device at a time, and that it can bump our iPhones up to a 50-percent charge in just half an hour. Since it takes both USB-C and USB-A cords, it’s compatible with most devices and brands, whether you have an iPad, smart watch, Samsung, or Google Pixel. With so much power, this portable charger can recharge your phone up to five times while on a road trip or out and about. The digital display keeps you in the loop with how much charge is left. Note that because of the high 33,800 mAh power rating, it can’t be taken on an airplane. It takes about six hours to charge the actual power bank device via USB-C connection and offers overheating, overcharging, and overcurrent protection.

The Details: 5.9 x 2.9 x 0.67 inches | 12.2 ounces | 33,800 mAh | Inputs: 2 USB-C | Outputs: 2 USB-A, 2 USB-C

This charger begins working as soon as it's connected to your magnet-safe case, providing a secure connection and easy-to-read display without any pesky wires. It can charge your iPhone two to three times, Samsung up to two times, and iPad or tablet 1.5 times to full capacity. Safety functions such as overheating and overcurrent protection are built in. Best for Android

Iwalk small usb c portable charger.

It’s lipstick-sized and superportable.

The battery life isn’t that impressive compared to other power banks on the list.

Specifically designed for Android users, this tiny portable charger easily fits in a crossbody bag or even your pocket. The iWALK charger is cordless as well, so you don’t need to get a cord or untangle wires when you want to use it; simply plug it directly into the USB-C port. Although there isn’t an LED display to show the percentage of battery left, there are indicator lights to track the power level. It’s designed to prevent overcharging, short-circuiting, and temperature control while in use, so you can have peace of mind if you need to step away. In general, it takes approximately 2.5 hours to recharge this portable device.

The Details: 3 x 1.8 x 1 inches | 6.3 ounces | 4,500 mAh | Input: USB-C | Output: USB-C

Best With AC Outlet

Sinkeu portable laptop phone charger.

It includes an actual plug as well as a cord for charging via an AC outlet or DC input.

There are no slots for a USB-C.

For a power bank with an actual built-in AC outlet, the SinKeu 65 Watt Portable Laptop Phone Charger is our top pick because of its portability and versatility. This power bank is fantastic for charging laptops, tablets, and other compatible devices including certain camera batteries (65 watts and under) that need a typical plug port. The 12-volt port is great for recharging speakers and other devices that require that output, while the 5-volt port is perfect for refueling your cell phone up to eight times before the power bank needs to be recharged itself. For compatible laptop models, it can provide a full charge twice, making this a great option for travelers with a wide array of devices. The included DC input (think: car cigarette lighter) makes it possible to recharge this power bank in your car, as well. To fully recharge, it takes approximately four hours.

The Details: 6.8 x 3.8 x 1.8 inches | 1.1 lbs | 24,000 mAh | Inputs: 2 USB-A, 110V AC outlet, 15V DC port | Outputs: 2 USB-A, 110V AC outlet, 12V DC port

Vrurc portable charger.

It has multiple ports in addition to its foldable AC plug.

It doesn’t feel as durable as other models on the list.

We love that the Vrurc Portable Charger not only comes with a wall plug, but it folds up for easy storage. The wall plug allows for pass-through charging and the variety of ports make it compatible with most devices. You can keep track of the remaining power with the easy-to-view digital display while the power pack’s compact size makes it easy to take along on your travels. We appreciate the textured surface of the charger for better grip, to help prevent dropping it, too. The device itself takes between five and six hours to charge, depending if you plug it straight into the wall or use the included cord.

The Details: 5.9 x 2.8 x 0.7 inches | 8 ounces | 10,000 mAh | Inputs: AC wall plug, USB-C port | Outputs: USB port, USB-C port, USB-C cable, micro cable, iPhone cable

Best Multi-pack

Miady usb portable charger.

The two-pack has multiple charging options.

The lightning cable is not included.

Sometimes it’s better to buy a pack of two. In this case, the Miady 2-pack Dual USB Portable Charger is our top choice for its versatility, value, and compact size. Its slim and lightweight design makes it great for travel or everyday use, and the grippy texture prevents slips and drops. At full capacity, it can charge an iPhone more than twice, a tablet more than 1.5 times, and Galaxy phone models almost twice before needing to be recharged itself. These portable chargers take approximately five hours to reach 100 percent. And since they come in a pair,  you can use a fully juiced charger to power up multiple devices while the other one is recharging.

The Details: 7.09 x 5.51 x 0.79 inches  | 7.68 ounces | 10,000 mAh | Inputs: 1 USB-C, 1 micro USB | Outputs: 2 USB-A , 1 USB-C

Best Budget

A addtop portable charger.

It charges devices fast and won’t break the bank.

It’s heavier than other models on the list.

The A Addtop Portable Charger offers fantastic value and bang for your buck. We love that it only takes 30 minutes to charge an iPhone up to 60 percent. The device itself takes approximately five hours to charge to full capacity, but can then provide five to six charges for your phone (depending on the model) and two charges for your iPad. It can also impressively charge up to four devices at once via multiple ports. The LCD display keeps you in the loop about remaining charge so it doesn’t get too low when you need to use it on the go.

The Details: 5.91 x 2.91 x 0.94 inches | 14.9 ounces | 26,800 mAh | Input: USB-C | Output: 3 USB-A, USB-C

Tips for Buying Portable Chargers

Consider charge potential and timing.

When shopping for a portable power bank, one of the main features to look out for is the capacity for fully charging your devices, especially your smartphone. If you have long travel days with little opportunity to plug your phone in and your backup charger can only offer half a charge to top it off, that may not work for you. Another thing to consider is how long it will take to recharge each of your important devices, as well as the length of time it will take to recharge the power bank itself. Most people can recharge a power bank overnight if it takes more than a couple of hours, but you need to look at your precise needs while on the go.

Decide how much capacity you need

All of the numbers referring to capacity in mAh and watt hours can be a little tricky to understand when deciding what you’ll need. The term mAh means “milliampere-hour” and measures the units of electric charge, or how much power it can hold. This will be the difference between being able to charge just one device at a time versus multiple, and/or charging your phone multiple times or even a laptop at all. If you just need to top off your phone and keep it from getting to zero percent, something below 5,000 mAh should do the trick. If you need to charge your phone constantly or have more than one device, something more than 10,000 mAh might be for you.

Since the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have rules for rechargeable batteries and power banks measured in the max watt hours allowed, you’ll need to know how to convert the mAh listed for the power bank or charger into watt hours to see if your device can come along with you. To do this, you’ll need to multiply milliamp hours by volts then divide by 1,000. So, if you take the Eggtronic Laptop Power Bank listed above, it’s 20,000mAh at 5V, making it equivalent to 100 watt hours.

The FAA and TSA state that any spare battery with more than 100 watt hours or 27,000mAh needs to have approval from the airline.

Look at the types and numbers of ports

One of the most important aspects of choosing a power bank is to make sure it will be compatible with your devices. The last thing you want is to purchase a back-up charger that’s only suitable for an iPhone when you have an Android. There are numerous options that offer more than one type of port. The most common inputs and outputs are USB-A and USB-C, as well as lightning ports (for Apple devices). Some models offer a wall plug or cigarette lighter adapter as well, perfect for those who need to charge a device from the car or have to charge something with a physical plug.

It’s important to note that regulations will have lightning ports outdated for future iPhones due to the European Union’s ruling that all smartphones need to have the USB-C charging port in common.

Frequently Asked Questions

A portable charger or power bank is a great back-up solution to ensure you don’t run out of battery on your devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. They provide an extra lithium-ion battery-powered source — or another source like the sun — that can connect to a wide array of devices, depending on their ports or magnetic charging capabilities. When connected, they transfer their stored energy to the electronic device plugged in. Typically, they are small enough to fit in your bag without taking up too much space, and some are even compact enough to fit in your pocket.

Yes, it’s possible to bring most portable chargers on an airplane, though there are restrictions to abide by: it’ll have to stay in your carry-on luggage that you’ll have with you in the cabin, as it can’t be in a checked bag. It also can’t possess more than 100Wh (watt-hours) or 27,000 mAh capacity. If your power bank has a larger capacity than this, you’ll need approval from the airline.

The Best Wireless Portable Chargers and Power Banks

Sarah Witman

By Sarah Witman

Sarah Witman is a writer focused on batteries and charging accessories. She has spent countless hours charging, discharging, and recharging batteries.

Most wireless power banks, including both Qi and MagSafe options, are finicky to use while on the go, and none of them will charge an iPhone or other fast-charging device at top speed. But the ESR HaloLock Kickstand MagSafe Battery Pack (2G505) comes closest to nailing both tasks, offering plenty of power and capacity to keep your phone charged throughout the day, while adding a strong magnet to lock it firmly in place while it’s charging and a kickstand to prop it up for easy viewing.

Everything we recommend

travel wireless charger

ESR Kickstand Wireless Power (HaloLock)

The best wireless power bank.

This power bank is MagSafe-compatible, can charge most phones up to three times, and includes a sturdy kickstand. It’s less powerful than many wired chargers but can still charge most phones at top speed.

Buying Options

May be out of stock

Anker 633 Magnetic Battery

A wireless power bank with two usb charging ports.

This model can charge most phones up to three times, and its MagSafe wireless charging pad, USB-C PD port, and USB-A port have a combined output of 18 W. Its kickstand is a bit flimsy but still handy.

You save $25 (38%)

Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand

A wireless power bank with two qi charging pads.

This power bank has a combined output of 20 W and can charge most phones up to three times. It’s hefty and lacks MagSafe, but it can wirelessly charge multiple devices and its stand is super sturdy.

The ESR HaloLock Kickstand MagSafe Battery Pack (2G505) is the best choice for charging an iPhone 15 or other compatible device wirelessly when you’re in transit—whether you’re commuting, traveling, or just need a portable boost of power. It works with any Qi and/or MagSafe device, offering up to 10 W wireless charging speeds.

The sturdy metal kickstand works in landscape or portrait orientation, making it useful as a desktop dock or as a source of backup power while you’re watching movies on your handset. It weighs just 7.8 ounces and has a compact, streamlined shape that makes it easy to slip into a pocket or small purse.

Its USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port supports up to 20 W charging, allowing you to charge most phones (or the power bank itself) at top speed, and its pass-through charging capabilities allow you to recharge the power bank while simultaneously charging a phone or other device. Its combined maximum output of up to 20 W is as high as any model we tested, and with a rated capacity of 10,000 mAh it can fully charge most phones up to three times.

If the ESR HaloLock is unavailable, or you’d prefer a USB-A port to charge a third device, get the Anker 633 Magnetic Battery (A1641) . It’s about as compact and lightweight as our top pick, has just as much battery life, and (though not quite as sturdy as the ESR’s stand) includes a similar built-in kickstand.

Its MagSafe wireless charging pad can pass up to 7.5 W to compatible devices, its USB-C PD port supports up to 20 W charging speeds, and it adds a USB-A port, which can be handy for charging an additional device at up to 18 W charging speeds. Like our top pick, it has pass-through charging capabilities, though its combined maximum output (18 W) is slightly lower.

If you want the option to wirelessly charge multiple devices—say, an iPhone and a set of AirPods—the Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand is your best bet.

Like our top pick, it has pass-through charging, enough capacity to charge most phones up to three times, and a total maximum output of up to 20 W. Its USB-C PD port has up to 18 W of charging (output) or recharging (input) power. Its main wireless charging pad supports up to 10 W charging, and the entire top surface pops up to become a phone stand that’s more stable than the built-in kickstands of most models we tested.

Its second wireless charging pad is smaller and supports up to 5 W charging—making it well-suited for a smaller accessory, such as an Apple Watch. And while the Qi wireless charging pads lack the magnetic alignment of MagSafe, so they can’t easily be used in transit, both have a sufficiently grippy texture to keep devices in place during stationary charging.

The only notable drawback is its size—at 10.3 ounces, it’s slightly heavier than our other picks.

The research

Why you should trust us, who this is for, how we picked and tested, our pick: esr halolock kickstand magsafe battery pack (2g505), also great: anker 633 magnetic battery (a1641), upgrade pick: satechi duo wireless charger power stand, other good wireless power banks, what to look forward to, the competition.

I’ve been a science writer for nearly a decade, covering a wide variety of topics from particle physics to satellite remote sensing. Since joining Wirecutter in 2017, I’ve reported on electric vehicle chargers , rechargeable AA and AAA batteries , surge protectors , and more.

This guide builds upon the reporting of Nick Guy, a writer who has reviewed mobile accessories since 2011.

All three picks together.

A portable charger allows you to carry a backup source of power with you at all times, rather than having to track down a wall outlet when you’re running out of juice. And if you have an iPhone, AirPods, an Apple Watch, or another device with Qi or MagSafe charging capabilities, a wireless power bank saves you the hassle of packing separate charging cables.

Perhaps the most practical way to use one is to keep it plugged in with your phone resting on top of it when you’re stationary (at home or in the office, say) and then take both devices with you when you’re ready to leave.

MagSafe power banks support wireless charging speeds up to 15 watts, which is the fastest wireless charging speed that iPhones and other compatible devices can achieve, while Qi and some non-certified MagSafe wireless charging accessories are limited to 7.5 W output. Our testing shows that MagSafe is faster than the fastest Qi charging, though not twice as fast. Neither is capable of attaining the 20 W needed to fast-charge most phones.

Qi2, a new standard supporting wireless charging speeds up to 15 W for both Apple and Android mobile devices, was announced in January 2023, but no Qi2-certified devices are available as of this writing.

All three picks collapsed, stacked on top of each other, next to an iPhone for size reference.

To find the best wireless power bank, we combined the criteria we’ve previously used for Qi wireless chargers and portable power banks , including the following:

  • Design: We considered how well the power bank was built, how it looked, how portable it was, and how effectively its surface or magnets held a phone in place. The thin coils inside the charger and phone transmit and receive power, respectively, when you place them next to each other, and if they’re misaligned, the connection may break and prevent your phone from charging.
  • Capacity: More power is always better, and we especially looked for power banks offering the most battery life (measured in milliamp-hours, or mAh) for the weight and price.
  • Charging ports: We considered each power bank’s number of ports as well as their capabilities. For models with at least one USB-A output port, we valued those with faster charging speeds (including 12 W and Quick Charge 3.0 ) more highly than those limited to 5 W or 10 W charging. We also preferred power banks with USB-C Power Delivery (PD) ports supporting at least 20 W power input and output.
  • Wireless charging speed: Our tests have shown that a charger’s output level has little impact on how quickly most phones charge—that is, you don’t get a much faster charge from a higher-wattage charger. So although we tested for charging speed, the difference in results wasn’t particularly important. We just wanted to make sure none of the models performed far below average speeds.
  • Safety-standard compliance: A charger certified by the Wireless Power Consortium has been tested in an authorized lab and found to be both safe and in compliance with the Qi standard. If a wireless charger isn’t certified, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unsafe or noncompliant, but (all other things being equal) we preferred it.
  • Maker reputation: We considered models only from companies that we knew from past experience had a good reputation for warranty coverage and customer support. Even if a charger is WPC-certified, there’s no guarantee it will never have a problem, and help should be available if you need it.
  • MagSafe: We gave preference to MagSafe-compatible battery packs, since they offer faster charging speeds and a more stable connection between the power bank and phone. Although only Apple products currently have built-in MagSafe compatibility, some protective cases can add MagSafe capabilities to Android phones as well.

We then tested both the wireless and wired charging capabilities of each model that met our criteria.

  • Wireless charging: We tested wireless charging output from each power bank by completely draining the battery of an iPhone in airplane mode, placing it on the charging pad, and then measuring the charge level after 30 minutes and one hour.
  • USB-A ports: We tested the maximum power draw from each port by plugging in an ammeter and a variable power load, and gradually increasing the power draw until the device overloaded and shut off.
  • USB-C ports: We used the Total Phase USB Power Delivery Analyzer and its Data Center Software to verify the advertised charging speeds of each USB-C port.

A close up of the ESR HaloLock

The ESR HaloLock Kickstand MagSafe Battery Pack (2G505) is the best power bank to wirelessly charge an iPhone 15 or other compatible device while traveling between home, school, work, and more. It has as much battery capacity as any model we tested, a MagSafe wireless charging pad, a fast-charging USB-C PD port, and a handy built-in kickstand—and it’s small enough to tuck in a pocket or small purse, too.

It wirelessly charges any Qi and/or MagSafe device. This power bank is capable of passing up to 10 W wirelessly. If you have a phone or other device that supports Qi charging, you can place it atop the wireless charging pad to top off the battery. If your device supports MagSafe charging, it’ll adhere firmly to the surface of the charging pad, so you can charge it wirelessly while on the go (it’s also less likely to get disconnected if bumped or jostled during stationary charging).

It has a sturdy built-in kickstand. This model’s metal kickstand blends in seamlessly with the back of the unit, and it can be easily flipped open to prop up your phone for video chatting or streaming (at either a landscape or portrait orientation). Unlike some kickstands we’ve used, this one feels robust and firmly fastened to the body of the unit.

It’s compact and lightweight. Weighing just 7.8 ounces, or less than half a pound, it won’t add much bulk to a purse or backpack. And its sleek, slim shape makes it easy to slip into a pocket.

It has great battery life. With a capacity rating of 10,000 mAh, it has the potential to fully charge a phone thrice over. That’s more than enough battery life to keep most phones going throughout the day, even with moderate to heavy use.

It has a fast-charging USB-C PD port. Not only does this power bank support pass-through charging, but its 20 W USB-C PD port is capable of fast-charging most phones (or recharging the power bank itself) at top speed. When the port and wireless charging pad are both in use, their individual charging speeds will drop slightly, offering a maximum total output of 20 W.

It’s made by a reputable brand. We’ve had generally good experiences with ESR’s products and customer support in the past, and the company backs this model with a one-year warranty.

Flaws but not dealbreakers

  • With a maximum output of 10 W from its wireless charging pad, it’s not quite as powerful as some models we tested. But it’s still on the higher end of wireless charging speeds, and since MagSafe allows you to charge while in transit, you won’t have to loiter next to a wall outlet while waiting for your phone to top up.
  • It isn’t WPC-certified, but none of our picks are (and we didn’t notice any safety or performance issues in our testing).

Close up of the Anker 633

The Anker 633 Magnetic Battery (A1641) is a similarly great option if our top pick is unavailable, or if you want more USB charging ports. In addition to a MagSafe wireless charging pad and USB-C PD port, it gives you a USB-A port to charge a third device. And its power, capacity, and overall design are on par with that of our favorite model.

It works with Qi and/or MagSafe devices. Like our top pick, you can use this power bank to wirelessly charge any phone or other device with Qi and/or MagSafe capabilities. If your device supports the latter, it’ll attach firmly to the main surface of the power bank, so you can toss both in a bag to charge while you’re out and about.

Its kickstand is flimsier than our top pick’s, but still handy. Though not quite as robust as that of our top pick (it seems a bit more likely to snap off unexpectedly), the metal kickstand on this power bank will keep your phone propped up during a Netflix binge or video call.

The Anker A1641 standing on its kickstand

It’s small and light. About the size of a standard deck of playing cards, this power bank fits easily in most pockets and even the mini-est of mini bags . It’s a hair lighter than our top pick (7.6 ounces) and has an equally slim, sleek shape.

It has plenty of power. This model’s MagSafe wireless charging pad can pass up to 7.5 W to compatible devices, which (though slower than our top pick, and somewhat sluggish compared with others we tested) is within our preferred range of wireless charging speeds. Plus, it offers even more power over USB (up to 20 W in or out of the USB-C PD port, and up to 18 W out of the USB-A port).

It can charge up to three devices at once. Since it supports pass-through charging, you can charge up to two devices (on the wireless charging pad and/or from the USB-A port) while recharging the power bank itself via USB-C. When charging three devices simultaneously, the available power is split between them, resulting in a combined maximum output of up to 18 W.

A close up of the charging ports on the Anker A1641.

It’ll keep your phone charged throughout the day. Like our top pick, this model has a capacity rating of 10,000 mAh, which is enough to fully charge most phones up to three times. Of course, if you use your phone a lot, or if you’re charging multiple devices simultaneously, the power bank will need to be recharged more frequently.

It’s made by a brand we trust. We’ve recommended numerous Anker products over the years and have found the customer support to be fast and reliable. Plus, the company backs this model with a two-year warranty, giving you plenty of time to use it and ensure you don’t have a dud.

A close up of the Satechi Duo

If you regularly carry more than one device with wireless charging capabilities, get the Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand . It combines most of the features we prize in our other picks with the added versatility of our favorite multi-device wireless charging stands . It also has one of the most topple-proof phone stands of the power banks we tested, and it’s one of just a few with two wireless charging pads. But on the downside, it’s a few ounces heavier than most competitors and lacks MagSafe.

Its pop-up phone stand is the sturdiest we’ve tested. The entire top surface of the power bank, which contains the main wireless charging pad, can be folded upright into a phone stand, revealing a second wireless charging pad beneath it. The rest of the power bank forms a stable base for the propped-up phone, and four rubber dots on the bottom keep it from skidding across the tabletop.

It works with all Qi-compatible devices. Since it’s not MagSafe compatible, this power bank can’t be used for charging while on the go. However, once you get to your destination, it’s easy to set a device on top of the main Qi wireless charging pad. Three rubber dots help keep a phone or other device in place while it’s charging wirelessly, and when it’s propped up, a rubber ledge offers even more support.

The secondary charging pad, located in the base, has a grippy texture and shallow grooves around the edges to keep a small accessory—such as an Apple Watch or set of AirPods—from sliding out of place.

The Satechi Duo sitting with the kickstand erected.

It’s on the heavier side but still highly portable. Weighing 10.3 ounces, this model is slightly bulkier than our other picks, but its rounded edges and slim shape still make it relatively easy to stow in a bag.

It’s powerful and can charge up to three devices simultaneously. The Satechi Duo has two wireless charging pads (the main one supports up to 10 W charging speeds, and the other up to 5 W) as well as a USB-C PD port that can charge a third device or the power bank itself at up to 18 W. It has pass-through charging capabilities and a total maximum output of 20 W.

It has enough juice for several commutes or a weekend trip.

Satechi is a reputable brand that has been around since 2005. This particular model is backed by a one-year warranty, and we’ve generally found the company’s customer support to be fast and reliable.

If our top pick is unavailable and you don’t mind a slightly pricier model with a flimsier kickstand: Get the Baseus PPCXZ10 . Like our top pick, it has a MagSafe wireless charging pad and USB-C PD in/out port with pass-through charging capabilities. Also like that model, it weighs less than half a pound (7.5 ounces) and has enough capacity (rated for 10,000 mAh) to charge most phones up to three times. Plus, its warranty is twice as long (two years).

However, the Baseus model’s combined maximum output (up to 15 W) falls short of what we saw with our top pick. It also costs more ($50 at this writing), and the kickstand (the size and shape of which are not unlike a toothpick) seems like it could easily snap off.

If you want something lighter and cheaper than our top pick that doubles as a wallet, and don’t mind that it has half the capacity and no kickstand: Get the Mophie Snap+ Juice Pack Mini Wallet . Like the ESR HaloLock, this power bank has a MagSafe wireless charging pad and USB-C PD in/out port with pass-through charging capabilities. It’s one of the lightest models we tested (4.9 ounces) and costs just $18 at this writing. It also has a fabric exterior that’s extra comfortable to hold and a small slot in the back to hold a few credit cards (its stretchy material keeps cards snugly in place, but I still wouldn’t trust it to hold cash or anything irreplaceable).

On the downside, it has half the capacity of our picks (rated for just 5,000 mAh), and it’s less powerful (it maxed out at 12 W in our testing). Plus, it lacks a kickstand.

If you prefer a power bank with a fabric exterior and tripod mount, and you don’t mind that it’s heavier and pricier than our top pick: Get the Mophie Snap+ Powerstation Stand . Much like our top pick, it has a rated capacity of 10,000 mAh, a combined max output of 20 W, a MagSafe wireless charging pad, a USB-C PD in/out port, pass-through charging capabilities, and a built-in kickstand. Plus, it adds a tripod connector and a comfy fabric exterior. However, it weighs more than the ESR model (9.3 ounces) and costs more ($60) at this writing.

If you want something lighter than our top pick with a super-sturdy kickstand, and don’t mind that it has half the capacity and costs a bit more : Get the Mophie Snap+ Juice Pack Mini Stand . Weighing just 6.5 ounces, it has a MagSafe wireless charging pad with a maximum output of 15 W, and a USB-C port with up to 12 W output and up to 20 W input. Its aluminum kickstand is as tall and wide as the unit itself so it’s especially sturdy, and it has a small rubber lip on the bottom to make it even more skidproof. However, it costs a few bucks more than our top pick ($60 at this writing) and has a lower capacity (5,000 mAh, or enough to fully charge most smartphones at least once).

If you want a MagSafe power bank with more power than our upgrade pick , and you don’t mind that it’s heavier and pricier: Get the OtterBox 77-89452 . Like the Satechi Duo, this power bank has a rated capacity of 10,000 mAh, two wireless charging pads, a USB-C PD in/out port, pass-through charging capabilities, and a built-in kickstand. It’s also twice as powerful, with a combined maximum output of 40 W, and it adds the benefit of MagSafe on its wireless charging pads. Still, it’s one of the bulkiest and most expensive models we tested, weighing 12.2 ounces and costing $150 at this writing.

A slew of new products with Qi2 charging capabilities were announced in late 2023 and at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2024. Qi2 uses rings of magnets to ensure easy alignment between phone and charger, but unlike MagSafe it’s not exclusively compatible with Apple products. It also allows any compatible device to charge at up to 15 W, which is twice as fast as the original Qi specifications.

We plan to test the following models against our current picks this spring, along with other Qi2-compatible power banks that are likely to launch later in the year:

  • Anker MagGo Power Bank (6.6K) and Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K)
  • Belkin BoostCharge Pro Magnetic PowerBank
  • Hyper HyperJuice 10,000mAh Qi2 Power Bank
  • InfinaCore P3 Pro
  • Mophie Snap+ Powerstation Mini Stand

This is not a comprehensive list of models we’ve tested. We have removed discontinued models and those that no longer meet our criteria.

Qi chargers

The Anker PowerCore 10K Wireless costs about the same as our top pick and performed similarly in our testing, but it doesn’t have a kickstand, MagSafe compatibility, or any other noteworthy features.

The Einova Power Bar has more wireless charging pads, safety and performance certifications, and included accessories than any of our picks. But it also offers less capacity for the size and price compared with those models, it lacks MagSafe compatibility, and it doesn’t have a kickstand.

The Lenovo GO Wireless Power Bank lacks MagSafe compatibility, and it has a flawed built-in cable design that makes it nearly unbearable to use.

The OtterBox 78-52163 offers less power for the size and/or price compared with otherwise similar models, and it’s not MagSafe compatible.

The RapidX MyPort comes with a desktop dock, but it’s not as convenient or reliable as the built-in kickstands of most models we tested, and it’s not MagSafe compatible.

The STM PowerKick performed fine in our testing, but it lacks MagSafe compatibility, and its most noteworthy feature (a suction-cup attachment system) only works reliably with bare phones or some case materials.

The following models offer ample capacity for the size and price, but they’re not MagSafe compatible, and they lack a kickstand:

  • Mophie Powerstation Wireless XL with PD (fabric)
  • OtterBox 78-80642
  • OtterBox 78-80690

MagSafe chargers

The Anker 621 Magnetic Battery (A1610) , Anker 622 Magnetic Battery (A1611) , and Anker 622 Magnetic Battery (A1614) , are lighter and cheaper than our picks, but they have half the capacity and no additional features.

The Baseus PPCXW06 is lighter and cheaper than our picks, but it has a lower rated capacity and no additional features.

The Baseus PPCXM10T has a handy built-in cable, but it’s relatively short, and otherwise comparable models offer more power for the size and/or price.

The ESR HaloLock Power Bank with Wallet (2G513) offers less power for the size and/or price compared with similar models. Also, the kickstand seems more likely to snap off than others we tested (and if it does, you also lose the attached card holder).

The OtterBox Multi-Mount Power Bank with MagSafe (15W) 77-89445 comes with a desk stand, car vent mount, and wall charger. However, the power bank itself isn't exceptional, and we think most people would be better off buying each of these devices individually if they need them.

The Scosche GoBat MS 5K (PBQ5MS-SP) is lighter and cheaper than our picks, but it has half the capacity and no additional features.

The Zens Magnetic Dual Powerbank supports wireless charging to a second device, but it has a smaller battery capacity and is more expensive than otherwise comparable models.

The following models offer less battery life for the size and/or price compared with otherwise comparable models, and they lack any other standout traits or features:

  • Apple MagSafe Battery Pack
  • Belkin BPD001
  • Belkin BPD002
  • Belkin BPD004
  • Hyper HyperJuice Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack
  • Mophie Snap+ Juice Pack Mini
  • Mophie Powerstation 10K Stand with MagSafe
  • OtterBox 78-81175

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe in black on a wooden surface

1. Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

This three-in-one charging pad from Belkin is my current favorite wireless charger. It offers 15W MagSafe charging for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, as well as fast charging for the Apple Watch 7 and regular wireless charging in an AirPods-sized recess, meaning all my Apple mobile devices could charge simultaneously from a single charging brick. That brick comes included too, so I didn't have to go rooting around in a cupboard for one with the correct wattage.

The only thing holding this charger back from perfection is its price, which is quite high. Also, the use of MagSafe and the Apple Watch charging cradle means this isn't a great pick for Android users, although as you'll see from other entries on this list, you've still got some good choices.

Apple MagSafe charger on an iPhone 12

2. Apple MagSafe charger

As an iPhone 14 owner, Apple's MagSafe charger made wireless charging ridiculously easy for me. The magnets built into the charger and the back of the phone mean the two easily snap together and start the charging process.

You can charge at up to 15W on most iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 models if you have a 20W charging plug at the other end, which fortunately I do. However, if you own an iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 13 mini, then that's limited to 12W. That's still faster than basic Qi wireless charging though, and it remains just as convenient no matter which model you own.

Although my AirPods don't have magnets in the back, I was still able to charge them fine with the MagSafe puck. It will be even easier if you own a newer pair of AirPods Pro though, which now comes with a MagSafe-ready charging case. If you're a diehard Apple fan, this is probably the wireless charger for you.

The best wireless charger value

The Otterbox Wireless Charging Pad

3. Otterbox Wireless Charging Pad

The Otterbox wireless charger isn't much to look at, but it offers everything you could want from a universal charging pad. It's well-priced and comes with a compatible plug that'll deliver the maximum available power to your device.

About the only complaint we can make is that the design's kind of plain, but that's just the way Otterbox designs its products. It's compact, features a convenient light to indicate charging status and a rubberized square in the center of the pad to avoid items sliding around. The lengthy included cable makes sure you can place the pad almost anywhere you could want it too.

The best wireless charging stand

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1) with cardboard boxes

4. Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1)

Even if you're not moving house , this three-in-one charger from Anker provides a flexible way to charge your devices whether you're at home or out and about.

The pocket-sized charger comes with a fold-out stand for your phone so you can charge it vertically or horizontally. And it's not just an iPhone this time around, since this charger's Qi2 compatibility means it should work with future phones from non-Apple brands.

However the compact design of the MagGo stand means it can't charge your phone in a flat position when you want to charge your earbuds or another device on the standard charging pad beneath. Plus having an Apple Watch perched on the fold-away cradle makes the space a little cramped too. But these are small prices to pay for a charger than works just as well on your hotel room nightstand as it does on your desk at home.

The best wireless charging power bank

The Otterbox Otterspot wireless charging base and charging bank, on an orange fabric background

5. OtterBox Otterspot Wireless Charger

None of the other best wireless chargers on this list are designed to be portable. The OtterSpot is though.

The basic package includes a standard wireless charging pad, plus a portable battery pack that also acts as a wireless charger. These stack together to stay powered on, but the battery portion was easy to slip into a bag when I wanted some wireless power on the go.

The system is quite expensive, particularly if you want to add more batteries to increase the size of the stack. But this is one of the best wireless chargers to get if you're often on the move, have many devices you want to keep charged at once, or like me just can't decide where best to put your chargers.

The best premium wireless charger

The Nomad Stand One wireless charger

6. Nomad Stand One

With a solid metal and glass body, the Nomad Stand One stayed solid wherever I put it, even when pulling a MagSafe-equipped iPhone off of it. Coming in either black or white, and with a matching integrated USB-C cable, it proved a great-looking addition to my desk.

Boy, do you pay for the privilege though. This is one of the most expensive chargers on this list, and only really works with iPhone 12 models and later. Also, that price doesn't include a charging brick, which is annoying since you need a 20W or more charger to get the full 15W speed. I'd find it hard to recommend to users who aren't taken with the design, or who have more modest budgets.

If you prefer a flat charging pad with the same gorgeous build quality, then there's the Nomad Base One for you to look at as well. And if you want a spot for your Apple Watch to charge as well as your phone, then you can upgrade to the Base One Max .

The best basic wireless charging pad

7. totallee wireless charger.

If you want a charger with few frills but still want it to look good, I think you'll be quite pleased with this Totallee charging pad. Its incredibly slim build meant I could take it and put it almost anywhere, and its textured black fabric surface let it fit into any room or spot I placed it.

The only major complaints I have is that there's no supplied charger, and there's a 10W maximum output which means I couldn't charge some phones (notably my iPhone) as fast as they are capable of. However, I can forgive these considering the price, which is fairly low.

The best wireless charger for iPhone and Apple Watch

Otterbox 2 in 1 charging station

8. Otterbox 2-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe

If space on your desk is at a premium, this handsome charger from Otterbox gives you the most compact footprint we've come across for a 2-in-1 charger. With its silver and white finish, it'll match well with your other Apple gear, while the magnetic charging surfaces will keep your Apple Watch and iPhone secure as they power up. I particularly appreciated the 90 degrees of motion that the iPhone charger has, which lets you hold the phone at a specific angle (good for watching stuff while powering up), or charge non-magnetic accessories like a pair of AirPods by tilting it into its flat position.

I am not as much of a fan of the Apple Watch charger though. It's placed behind the iPhone charger, which hides the smartwatch and may make it hard to get to without removing the phone or going in over the top of the charger. Also, there doesn't seem to be support for the Apple Watch 7's faster charging standard, which may bother users who need a quick refuel before their next workout.

The most versatile wireless charger

A Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2 wireless charger on a wooden table

9. Pitaka MagEZ Slider 2

It's fun just to play with the MagEZ Slider2, since the spinning mechanism that allows the stand to face any direction makes a satisfying clicking sound as it moves. But lock the stand in place and you've got a cleverly designed charging stand that's ideal for users wanting to power up their phone and several accessories in a limited amount of space.

The main iPhone charging section only powers your phone at 7.5W rather than the full 15W, but it's also a removable 4,000 mAh power bank in case you need a little extra juice on the move. The rear charging panel has a magnetically adjustable stand to help you charge your earbuds in the optimum position, plus there's another USB-C output for charging other devices. Keep in mind though that the "Power Dongle" accessory that you need to charge your Apple Watch is not sold with the standard version of the charger. If you need a space for your Apple wearable on the Slider2, make sure you buy the more expensive version that comes with it included.

The best alternative wireless chargers

We've tested more than just the handful of chargers above, so we're going to spotlight some other good options here.

The Ugreen 2-in-1 Qi2 Magnetic Foldable Charging Station is an incredibly neat package, able to fold down into a small cube-shaped charging pad or open up into a proper stand with space for charging your wireless earbuds or something similar. There's also an extra USB-C output on the side for charging another item. Plus, this is a Qi2 charger, making it future-proof through compatibility with the newest wireless charging standard.

Ugreen 2-in-1 Qi2 Magnetic Foldable Charging Station

If you want a complete kit that splits the difference between a travel charger and a home charger, the UAG Srge 3-in-1 travel/desktop charger and case is an expensive, but well-featured option. It offers an adjustable MagSafe charging stand, an Apple Watch charging cradle, plus a second flat charging pad for a third item. But in the box you also get a braided USB-C cable, a charging brick with four interchangeable pin sets, and a bag to keep them all in. There's not much else you could ask for, even if you're paying a lot for the privilege.

UAG Srge 3-in-1 travel/desktop charger and case

Which company's wireless charger is best?

It's hard to pick one company as the ultimate in wireless charging, but of the brands represented on this list, we recommend Belkin, Otterbox and Nomad as our favorite wireless charger makers. But there are plenty of good ones out there!

Which 3-in-1 wireless charger is best?

The top 3-in-1 wireless charger on our list is the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe. In fact, we like it so much it's our overall top pick! It may not be the top choice if you aren't an iPhone user though, since it does utilize Apple's proprietary MagSafe connection.

What is the fastest wireless charger?

This is going to depend on what device you're using. If it's an iPhone 12 or newer for example, then it'll be any device that uses MagSafe and provides 15W of charging. Other phone makers have their own standards, and often the only compatible chargers are the ones they sell themselves.

In terms of generic chargers, the fastest speed you'll get is the Qi standard of 7.5W. This isn't particularly speedy, but it'll work with any wirelessly chargeable smartphone, or other devices like wireless earbuds at slower speeds.

Is 10W or 15W better for wireless charging?

When it comes to smartphone charging, the general rule is the more watts, the faster your phone charges. Therefore 15W (the highest available form of the near-universal Qi charging standard) will power up your phone quicker. However, your phone may not support 15W wireless charging, meaning you're better off with 10W, which your device may well still support. It's good to check your phone's specs before committing to one charger or another so you're getting the best possible speeds.

How to choose the best wireless charger for you

To make sure you get the best wireless charger for your needs, you'll need to check what kind of wireless charging your phone supports. Most new wirelessly-chargeable phones are Qi-compatible, which lets them work with a wide range of products at either 7.5W or 10W of power. iPhones since the iPhone 12, as you might expect, have their own MagSafe standard that offers 15W of power when used with compatible accessories. Other companies like Samsung and OnePlus have their own wireless fast charging tech too, but you're less likely to find support for those in third-party products.

There's also Qi2 to contend with now. This newer standard combines MagSafe and Qi technologies together, allowing for faster charging with magnetic fastening as an option. No phones other than iPhones support this by default yet, but we expect other companies to start adopting it on their devices soon.

You'll also want to pay attention to whether a charger and charging cable are included in the box. If there is one included, look for a charger that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 technology, as these will ensure you get the maximum available speeds.

If you want to be able to charge multiple devices at once, there are some 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 chargers available that can juice your phone, earbuds and smartwatch all at once, but you're going to pay more for these accessories.

  • creachadair Thank you for a very helpful breakdown. One potential caution to other readers: I tried to purchase the Choetech Dual Wireless Charger recommended here. The recommendation is good on the merits, but the company itself is a little sketchy. They confirmed my order and charged me for the product, but never sent it. They were completely unresponsive to all support requests over a period of several weeks. I tried to cancel the order, to no avail. I eventually had to file a dispute with my credit card company. So if you are looking for a wireless charger, you may be better off steering toward a more responsive company. Reply
  • Pance Honestly a bit confused. The title states Best for IPhone AND Android. However, you in fact did the readers a biased disservice by ONLY focusing on IPhone, I kept reading to see when would honestly highlight Samsung and you didn't. In fact, if it wasn't good for IPhone you deemed it not good at all. Furthermore, in your beginning paragraph AND in the summary you again ONLY highlighted IPhone.... SMH PLEASE DO BETTER for your readers. Reply

Wireless charging isn’t nearly as cool as it sounds. It's not exactly wireless—a cord runs from an outlet to the charging pad—and it won't charge your smartphone faster than plugging it in with a good ol’ cord. Still, I'm always disappointed when I test a smartphone that doesn't support it. I've gotten used to plopping my phone down on a pad every night, and fishing for a cable in the dark feels like a chore. It's pure convenience more than anything else.

After testing more than 100 products over the past few years, my colleague Simon Hill and I have sorted the good from the bad ( there are certainly bad ones ) and have identified the best wireless chargers. There are so many styles, shapes, and build materials that you have options, including stands, pads, wireless battery packs, and models that even double as headphone stands.

A Note on Charging Speed and Compatibility

You’ll see “ Compatible with iPhones and Android phones ” under each slide, and that means the charger has a standard charging speed of 7.5 watts for iPhones or 10 watts for Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy phones). If it charges faster or slower, we'll indicate it. We've tested these with multiple devices, but there's always a chance your phone will charge slowly or won’t work because the case is too thick or its charging coil doesn't align well with the charger.

The Best Wireless Chargers (and Cheapest!)

Anker’s pad and stand prove you don't need to spend much for wireless charging. They're both made from plastic with a rubbery finish on the bottom to prevent slips and slides, though it's not too grippy. A tiny LED lights up blue when it’s charging and flashes to indicate there’s a problem. We prefer stands over pads, because you can easily see your phone notifications, but Anker’s pad is so cheap you could grab a few to scatter around your home. Both come with a 4-foot MicroUSB cable, but you have to supply the power adapter. That’s not a big surprise at this price. Most importantly, they'll charge your phone every bit as capably as many other options in this guide.

Compatible with iPhones and Android phones.

The Best Pad

If you have an iPhone with MagSafe , you should get the Base One Max , which is officially certified to dish out the maximum 15 watts needed for fast charging on iPhones. If not, the standard Base here (which still has MagSafe support) will recharge MagSafe and non-MagSafe iPhones at 7.5 watts and Android phones up to 15 watts. There's an integrated 2-meter USB-C cable in the box but no power adapter (I like this Nomad 20-watt one ).

The pad itself has a metal chassis with piano-black glass surrounding the wireless charging pad. It's hefty, so it won't slide around on a desk.

Compatible with iPhones, fast 15-W charging for Android phones.

Best Qi2 Charger

It is early days for the new Qi2 standard , but in a nutshell, it adds MagSafe-style magnetic charging and promises a 15-watt charging rate. Few phones beyond Apple’s MagSafe lineup (iPhone 12 and later) work with the magnets today, but Qi2 is backward compatible. You can put any Qi-certified phone on a Qi2 charger, though it may not charge at the maximum 15-watt rate. This doesn't necessarily work the other way, as we found with the first Qi2 Android phone, the HMD Skyline , which cannot charge with most older Qi chargers. This simple pad from Anker sticks well, has a durable aluminum casing that stays relatively cool, and has a 5-foot USB-C cable permanently attached.

Fast 15-W charging for Qi2-certified Android phones and MagSafe iPhones.

A Great MagSafe Stand

Practical and good-looking, this wireless charging stand is Qi2 certified . It’s a weighty mix of metal and glass in black or white, with padding in all the right places. You can pick up or place your phone one-handed, and the stand doesn’t slide around or topple easily. It has a ring of powerful magnets to hold your MagSafe iPhone or Qi2-certified Android phone in portrait or landscape orientation (handy for StandBy mode ) and can charge at up to 15 watts. You get a nice braided cable in the box (USB-C to USB-C) but will need a 20-watt charger , which is a bit cheeky at this price.

smartphone with iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless charger

Best Car Charger

Don't fiddle with cables again, even in the car. This versatile car mount from iOttie comes in two flavors, a suction cup for the dashboard/windshield or a CD/vent mount that clips into place. Adjust the height of the feet so your phone is always in the sweet spot for charging. The arms close around your phone automatically when it hits the trigger on the back of the mount, so you can place your device one-handed. (A release bar extends on either side so you can take your phone out again.) The mount has a MicroUSB port to plug in the supplied cable; just stick the other end in your car’s power socket. It handily includes a second USB-A port you can use to charge another phone. Read our Best Car Phone Mounts and Chargers guide for more recommendations.

★ MagSafe alternatives: Got an iPhone with MagSafe? The iOttie Velox Wireless Charging Car Mount ($47) is a minimalist option that slots into an air vent and has strong magnets to keep your iPhone securely in place. We also really like Peak Design's MagSafe Vent Mount ($100) , which stays securely in place and comes with a USB-C cable. It's just too expensive.

Nimble Apollo Wireless Charger

An Eco-Friendly Charger

The silicone surface of this wireless charger easily accumulates dust and lint, but that might not matter to you if you're shopping for the most eco-friendly charger. It's made of recycled silicone, the texture of which helps keep phones from sliding off the surface. The rest of it is made with postconsumer plastic and alloy, and even the packaging is plastic-free. Better yet, if you have an iPhone 12 or newer with MagSafe, the magnets inside the Apollo will keep your iPhone aligned perfectly for more efficient charging, even if they're not as strong as normal MagSafe wireless chargers. It also comes with a 20-watt charging adapter and cable, which is great value.

White phone stand propping up a bright pink mobile phone

Best for the Nightstand (and Pixel Phones)

Chances are you don't want too many LEDs in your face when you're sleeping. The LED on the second-gen Pixel Stand briefly lights up when you place a phone on it and disappears quickly. This charger is best paired with a Google Pixel smartphone because it enables extra perks, like turning your Pixel into a sunrise alarm clock that sees the screen glowing orange right before your alarm starts to ring, mimicking the sunrise. You can also convert your phone into a digital photo frame with Google Photos albums populating the screen, and have it trigger Bedtime Mode, which turns on Do Not Disturb and makes your screen gray to help you put your phone down . There's a built-in fan to keep your device cool as it fast-charges; it's audible in a quiet room, but you can turn the fan off in your Pixel's settings to keep it silent. It comes with a cable and adapter.

This charger still works great with other smartphones, you just won't be able to access many of those Pixel features. The biggest downside? Charging only works in portrait orientation. Oh, and it's overpriced. The good news is that the first-gen Pixel Stand is still available for much less; you can recharge your phone in landscape and portrait orientation, and I daresay it looks more interesting .

Compatible with iPhones, fast 23-W (Pixel 6 Pro, 7 Pro, and 8 Pro), 21-W (Pixel 6, 7, and 8), and 15-W charging for Android phones.

Anker MagGo Qi2 Travel 3in1 charger

Best Qi2 and MagSafe Charger for Travel

Many chargers bill themselves as ideal travel companions, but Anker’s MagGo 3-in-1 is perhaps the most compact I’ve tested when folded flat. Despite its size, this travel charger can charge up your iPhone or Qi2-certified phone at up to 15 watts, has a second pad for AirPods or other wireless earbuds, and sports a fold-out Apple Watch charger. The box includes both a USB-C cable (around 5-foot) and a wall adapter. Only MagSafe iPhones and Qi2-certified Android phones have the magnets needed to use this as a stand, but I had no trouble charging an older Android phone by angling it back (Qi2 is backward compatible).

★ An alternative: Mophie's 3-in-1 Travel Charger With MagSafe ($150) is another nice option that folds up to be super compact, and it includes a fabric case, along with the cable and charging adapter. It will fast-charge iPhones at 15 watts, and this updated model includes fast-charging support for the Apple Watch.

Black stand with 2 extending arms to hold devices

A 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger

Ah, the holy Apple trinity. If you have an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods (or honestly, any kind of earbuds with a wireless charging case), you'll love this T-shaped Belkin stand. It's a Qi2 and MagSafe charger, so it'll suspend your magnet-enabled iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, or iPhone 15 as if it's floating in midair (and charge it at the fastest 15-watt speed). The Apple Watch will stick to its little puck, which can fast-charge the Apple Watch Series 7 or newer (not the SE), and you can recharge your earbuds at the base. It's excellent. Belkin has a pad version if you'd like, but it takes up more room and isn't as fun as the tree (what I call the stand). Find more options in our Best Apple 3-in-1 Wireless Chargers guide.

Devices charging on the Courant Mag 3 charging pad

A Stylish 2-in-1 Charger

Courant makes some of the prettiest wireless chargers out there, and my new favorite is the Mag:3 Classics/Essentials. I tried it in leather, but you can also save some cash with the linen version. There are two chargers here, but you can't fit two phones side by side. It's instead meant to be for one smartphone and one wireless earbuds case. I've used it with the iPhone 15 and AirPods Pro with no issues—the left charger is MagSafe-compatible and the right side is a Qi charger, and they both work with non-Apple products too. I've tested it with a Pixel phone using a MagSafe case and Google's wireless earbuds and it all juiced up accordingly. I love that there's room to add your tchotchkes. It's my dedicated sunglasses spot.

It comes with a cable and power adapter. There's an additional 10-watt USB-C port to charge another low-power device nearby too.

Compatible with iPhones and Android phones

A Slim Folding Stand

Adoption of the Qi2 standard (offering MagSafe-style magnetic alignment for wireless charging) is proving slower than expected, but this nifty folding charger from Peak Design could be the perfect bridge. It is a slim, aluminum, hinged Qi2 wireless charging stand that folds flat, but Peak Design also offers magnetic cases for the top Samsung, Google, and Apple phones. I tested with the Pixel 8 case ($50) , and it let me stick my Pixel 8 on the stand in portrait or landscape orientation. It charges phones at up to 15 watts and comes with a 6.6-foot USB-C cable and three adhesive clips to keep it neat.

You need a 20-watt power adapter (I like this teeny tiny Anker charger at $14 ). Peak Design has a whole ecosystem of magnetic accessories , including a stand wallet, a tripod for mobile photography, and wall, bike, and car mounts. They are pricey, but everything I have tried is top quality and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Square wooden wireless phone charger sitting on a wooden surface

A Wooden Pad

Wireless chargers are usually plastic and rarely blend in with their surroundings, but Kerf’s chargers are covered with 100 percent natural and locally sourced wood. Choose from 12 wood finishes, from walnut to padauk, and each will come with a cork base to prevent slips. Starting from $50, these chargers can get expensive if you opt for rarer woods. You have the option of engraving it. You can choose whether to get a cable and power supply ($25 extra), which is a nice way to prevent electronic waste if you already have those.

travel wireless charger

A Hybrid Charger

This dual-charging system looks pretty—I like the fabric-wrapped stand—and you can charge another device on the rubberized charging pad next to it. The stand can be used in portrait or landscape, though in the latter orientation it'll block the pad. I use the pad to top up my wireless earbuds, but I wouldn't use this iOttie on a nightstand, because the LED on the front can be glaring. A cable and adapter are included, which makes it a good value.

samsung wireless charger

For Samsung Galaxy Farers

If you have a recent Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatch, then this is an excellent triple wireless charger to add to your home. You place the watch on the circular dip; I used it near my front door for several months and it charged the Watch4 (and the older Watch3) with zero issues.

The Trio is attractive, has LEDs that light up quickly, and comes with a 25-watt wall charger and USB cable. My partner and I usually drop our wireless earbuds cases next to the watch. I don't need to be too precise—the six coils inside give you some flexibility as to where you place them. If you only need the watch charger and space for one other device, it comes in a Duo version , or you can pick up the standard pad . Just remember, it only supports the models specified above. Several customer reviews mention it not working with older Galaxy watches.

Compatible with iPhones, slower 5-W charging for Android phones, fast 9-W charging for Samsung phones.

Oakywood headphone stand and wireless charging station

A Charger and Headphone Stand

Want to kit out your work-from-home setup ? Conserve space and use a headphone stand that can also wirelessly charge your phone. Oakywood's 2-in-1 has a base made from your choice of solid walnut or oak, and it looks gorgeous. Place your phone on it and it'll recharge just as well as any other charger on this list. The steel stand makes for a nice place to hang up your cans when you're done for the day. If you don't care for the stand but like the look of the charger, the company sells a version with just the pad .

★ Another alternative:  The Satechi 2-in-1 Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger ($80) is a shiny, sleek, and sturdy headphone stand with a Qi wireless charging pad for your iPhone or AirPods. It has magnets in it so it's great for anyone with a MagSafe Apple product. There's also a USB-C port to charge up a second device.

phone charger wireless

A Marble Charger

Einova’s Charging Stone is made with 100 percent solid marble or stone—you can choose from a variety. Every single pick in this guide looks very much like a wireless charger, but I've had visiting friends ask if this one is a drink coaster. (I'm still figuring out whether that's a good or bad thing.) It has zero LEDs, perfect for bedrooms; just try to hide the cable to truly make it blend into your home. We recommend putting a case on your phone when using it with this charger, as there's a risk of scuffing up the back with these harder surfaces.

Satechi Duo wireless charger with iPhone

A Wireless Battery

When you're out and about, finding a wall outlet to plug in your charger and phone can be tricky. Use a battery pack instead! Better yet, use one that supports wireless charging. This 10,000-mAh model from Satechi has enough power to recharge a phone more than once, but it has a few extra tricks up its sleeve. You can flip up the wireless charger to use it as a stand as it juices up your phone—I've tested it with a Pixel 7, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and iPhone 14 Pro, and they all managed to recharge, though not fast. Behind the stand is a spot to recharge your wireless earbuds case (if it supports it), and you can plug a third device in via the USB-C port. There are LEDs at the back to see how much battery is left in the bank.

5-W charging for iPhones and Android phones.

★ For MagSafe iPhone owners: Anker's 622 Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger ($45) magnetically sticks to the back of MagSafe iPhones, and there's a built-in kickstand so you can prop your phone up anywhere. It has a 5,000-mAh capacity, so it should fully recharge your iPhone once at the very least. Read our Best MagSafe Power Banks guide for more.

Various Anker MagGo chargers in different colors

Best Docks for MagSafe iPhones

These Anker products are some of my favorite iPhone wireless chargers at the moment. The orb-shaped MagGo has recently been updated with Qi2 support and includes several USB-C and USB-A ports plus AC outlets on its back, doubling as a power strip and a MagSafe wireless charger for any iPhone that supports the feature. The MagGo 623 can magnetically hold your iPhone at an angle on your desk and recharge it, and the circular base behind the angled top can also simultaneously juice up wireless earbuds.

But my favorite is the MagGo 633, which is a charging stand that doubles as a portable battery. Just slide out the battery to take it with you on the go (it'll stick to your MagSafe iPhone magnetically), and slot it back in when you're home. You can charge your iPhone on it as the power bank recharges itself. Ingenious. The base also can recharge wireless earbuds too. Sadly, the 633 seems to be out of stock quite often.

Made for iPhones and Apple devices.

Two black flat squareshaped devices for wireless charging

Best for Travel

This modular system from RapidX is great for couples or families, because it is compact and can wirelessly charge two phones at up to 10 watts each. The beauty is that you can add or remove pods, and a single charging cable can power up to five. The pods snap together magnetically and pull apart for easy packing. You can buy additional phone pods and an Apple Watch pod. You only get a 30-watt US power adapter and a 5-foot USB-C cable in the box, so you will need a more powerful adapter if you plan to add pods. (RapidX recommends 65 watts or above for three or more devices.)

Discshaped wireless charger with pattern of small animals

A Cute Magnetic Charger

Most wireless chargers are dull in the design department, so I appreciate Casetify’s range of Magnetic Wireless Chargers that come adorned with fun artwork. My daughter loves this cat design, but there are hundreds to choose from (more than 600). Technically, this is a Qi charger with MagSafe, so it will align perfectly with MagSafe iPhones and charge at 7.5 watts, but it can also charge any Qi phone at up to 15 watts. I tested with a Pixel 6 and a Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and you have to align it carefully, but it works just fine. The charger is super slim and comes with a lovely, 3.3-foot, permanently attached, black and white, braided USB-C cable, but you will need a power adapter (I like this tiny Anker charger at $14 ).

Compatible with iPhones and fast 15-W charging for Android phones.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Apple Watch Charger

Best for Apple Watch

It may top our Best Smartwatches guide, but the Achilles heel for the Apple Watch is battery life. This sleek charging pad comes in black or white, charges any Apple Watch, and folds flat for easy travel. While it’s not quite as compact as I would like, you can use the dial on the underside to adjust it for your Apple Watch size, and there’s cable management for the included 4-foot USB-C cable. It also supports Nightstand mode and fast charging for the latest Apple Watches. You just need a 20-watt wall charger to pair it with.

Made for Apple Watch.

A Face-Tracking Stand

At first glance, a face-tracking stand for your iPhone seems superfluous, and the price is going to turn many folks off, but Belkin’s Auto-Tracking Stand Pro won me over quite quickly. Pair your iPhone (it's only made for iPhones since it relies on Apple’s DockKit technology ), pop it on the MagSafe pad, and fire up the camera app to have the dock track your face as you move around to keep you in the frame. It is pretty good at tracking and can almost silently turn through 360 degrees and tilt up or down through 90 degrees. You can outrun it if you try, but at a regular walking pace, it keeps up. This dock is great for content creators or if you want to have a FaceTime call while you work in the kitchen, but it also supports tons of third-party apps, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp. Even better, this dock has a battery inside that’s good for up to five hours, and there’s a standard 1/4-inch thread on the bottom for attaching a tripod. Oh, it’s also a MagSafe wireless charger (up to 15 watts). It comes with a 5-foot USB-C cable and a 30-watt power supply.

Honorable Mentions

There are a lot of wireless chargers. Here are a few more we like, but for one reason or another don't warrant a place above.

  • Rapport London Formula Wireless Charging Tray for $450 : Yes, this is an obscene price for a Qi wireless charger. You can probably make a version for a fraction of the cost. But Rapport's build quality is quite nice, with a lacquered grey box and a soft-touch fabric inside to keep your watches and phone scratch-free. It reliably recharged several Android phones without making them too warm, all while offering storage for a few watches. It's attractive, but you have to have cash to burn at this price.
  • Belkin BoostCharge Pro Convertible Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand for $59 : This Qi2-certified stand has a magnetic pad that can lay flat to charge older phones or fold out to act as a stand for MagSafe iPhones and other Qi2 phones in portrait or landscape orientation (handy for StandBy mode). It charges at up to 15 watts and comes with a 5-foot USB-C to USB-C cable and a power supply.
  • Casetify PowerThru 2-in-1 Charging Stand for $102 : If you want a charger for your MagSafe iPhone and AirPods (or other earbuds), this one from Casetify is a decent pick. It has a squared-off base with an indent for AirPods, a metallic rod, and a slightly adjustable MagSafe pad for your iPhone that charges at 7.5 watts. I don’t love the visible logo around the pad or the options with basketball courts and other designs for the base, and it has a bright LED.
  • Apple MagSafe Charger for $32 : Apple's MagSafe charger is quite basic. Since the charger magnetically stays attached to MagSafe iPhones, you don't have to worry about accidental misalignments causing you to wake up to a dead device. But the cable isn't very long and there's no charging adapter.
  • Nomad Stand One Max for $180 : This is a very elegant if expensive Qi2-enabled 3-in-1 wireless charger that has juiced up my iPhone 15, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro with no trouble. It doesn't include a charging adapter, which is silly, but you'll get 15-watt fast charging for the iPhone and fast charging for the Apple Watch. The watch strap tends to get in the way of the AirPods, but this is a minor gripe.
  • Courant Catch:2 Essentials for $90 : Wireless chargers should look nice. You shouldn't settle for anything less! This Courant dual charger oozes luxury with its Belgian linen-wrapped surface (especially in the camel color). I've used it by my front door to recharge my partner's and my wireless earbuds for two years. The rubber feet prevent it from shifting around, but even if there are five coils in this pad, you should try to be precise when you put your device down to charge and make sure the LED lights up to double-check. It comes with a color-matching USB-C cable.
  • Xiaomi Mi 80-W Wireless Charging Stand for $100 : By far the fastest wireless charger we have tested, this stand is only worth considering for Xiaomi phones (it seems to charge most other phones at 10 watts or below). I tested with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ), which tops out at 50 watts (some Xiaomi models can go higher). The unusual sail shape combines a white triangular section with a clear acrylic base that has a subtle groove to hold your phone in place and a gap underneath for the exhaust grill from the noisy fan. The USB-C port and LED indicator are on the back.
  • Zens Liberty Wireless Charger for $100 : I tested the Glass Edition ($150) of this wireless charging pad, and it looks stunning with the 16 overlapping copper coils on display (the standard version has a woolen fabric top). It can charge two devices simultaneously at up to 15 watts apiece, and there’s an optional Apple Watch add-on ($24) . As stylish as it is, the price is too high. Because you can see the coils, placement is never an issue, but it’s a bulky charger, the fan is audible at times, and while I had no problem charging my iPhone or AirPods, my Pixel 6 Pro got very warm on this pad.

Soft black mat with rounded corners on top of a wooden surface

Don’t Bother

They can’t all be winners. Here are the wireless chargers we don’t like.

Raycon Magic Mat Pro for $40 : I love the idea of a mouse mat with a wireless charging spot for your phone, but the execution here is terrible. The spot is finicky to find, it can’t cope with thick cases, and my Xiaomi 14 Ultra would not charge at all (the camera bump is too big). Raycon says the fake leather is waterproof, but I found it a dud as a mouse mat and uncomfortable to rest my arm and hand on.

Your Charging Questions, Answered

Does my phone support wireless charging?

Not all phones support wireless charging, but most brands have models that do, so look up your phone model first. You'll usually see "Qi wireless charging" (the default standard) or simply "wireless charging" if it does. Phones that support the latest Qi2 standard , bear the Qi2 logo and have a ring of magnets for easy alignment (just like Apple's MagSafe). Qi2 is backward compatible, so Qi phones can be charged on Qi2 chargers, though they may charge at a slower rate. Sadly, this does not always apply the other way round, as we discovered with the HMD Skyline (the first Qi2 Android phone) which cannot be charged with the majority of Qi chargers.

Do wireless chargers work if you have a phone case?

Yes, most wireless chargers can charge through cases, unless it's a particularly thick case. Check the product listing—there's usually a case thickness limit in millimeters. Phones can get hot when charging wirelessly, so don't worry if your phone is really warm when you pick it up. Most smartphones have limits to stop accepting a charge if they get too hot.

Yes, cords will charge your phone faster.

Some manufacturers like Apple and OnePlus make wireless chargers that recharge their respective phones faster than others, but if you're looking for speed, you're better off sticking with a cord. Wireless charging is best for desks or nightstands when you're not really using your phone or in a rush to recharge it.

What's a fast wireless charging speed?

We said this at the beginning of our guide, but you'll see “ Compatible with iPhones and Android phones ” under each slide, and that means the charger has a standard charging speed of 7.5 watts for iPhones or 10 watts for Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy phones). The latest MagSafe and Qi2 chargers can go up to 15 watts, and there are a handful of proprietary wireless chargers for specific phone models that can charge even faster. It's worth noting that, even where phones support them, the maximum charging rates are only reached some of the time (the charging rate is automatically adjusted to preserve battery health).

Is wireless charging safe to use?

There's no definitive evidence that it's harmful. You may worry the phone's battery might degrade faster with wireless charging, but manufacturers set safe limits for phone batteries, stipulating how much a battery can be charged and how far it can discharge. Regardless of the charging source you use, whether you plug into a wall adapter or use a wireless charging pad, these limits can’t be overridden. There’s no risk of overcharging your phone by leaving it on a wireless charger all night.

How do I keep my phone's battery healthy?

Try to keep your battery between 50 and 80 percent for optimum battery health . Keeping your phone fully charged or fully discharging the battery will degrade it slightly faster, and regularly swinging between full and empty will shorten its life. Battery technology has improved in recent years, and phone batteries are more reliable than ever. If you switch phones every two to three years or don’t mind paying a modest fee for a battery replacement on that timescale, it’s not worth worrying too much about how often or when you charge your phone.

6 best portable chargers for travellers

There’s nothing worse than getting through the hustle and bustle of airport security only to finally make it to your gate and realise that your phone is out of battery. Searching for an outlet can be a pain and more often than not leaves you stuck hovering over one awaiting your turn. A portable charger offers peace of mind and freedom that airport outlets, hotel lobbies, and coffee shops just can’t supply. Even when you're not travelling, these gadgets are useful to have on hand for days when you forget to charge your phone at night or notice it’s running low midday after too much time on Google Maps (or TikTok).

The best portable batteries are compact, offer good charging speeds, and have a battery life that can last you more than one charge (an especially helpful feature for group travel). Some of these featured will also juice up your earbuds or iPad too, giving them utility beyond your phone. Read on for full reviews of our editors’ longtime favourites, as well as more recently tested chargers we recommend.

How we tested:

Each new charger was tested for at least three weeks. While testing, we kept these key questions in mind: how long it took to charge devices, how many devices it could charge at one time (and which devices it’s compatible with), and how long it took to charge the charger itself. We also brought them on the road to see how they fared while travelling, and included reviews for chargers we've used long-term.

Can you travel with them?

Yes, portable chargers are safe to travel with, as long as you pack them in your carry-on. They range in size, but even the largest power banks will fit into a carry-on bag or tote.

What are the qualities to look for in a portable charger?

When looking for a portable charger, it’s important to keep in mind the mAh, size, and the devices you plan to charge with it. Some portable chargers have multiple cables that can be plugged directly into your device while others come with built-in USB ports for regular or USB-C cords. Consider whether you want something specifically for your phone, or a multipurpose power bank that can charge your computer, smartwatch, or earphones, too.

What does mAh stand for?

It stands for milliampere hours which is a unit of measurement that’s used to describe the capacity of a battery. The higher the number, the more battery power you have. Chargers can range from as low as 1,000 mAh to as high as 50,000. For everyday use, it’s fine to get something in the 3,000 to 4,000 range, but we recommend upping the mAh capacity when you’d like to charge more than one device at a time or if you’re looking to use it on a device of five volts or higher.

Battery capacity: 10,000 mAh Dimensions: 11" x 5" x 2"

I never leave the house without my battery pack. I’m very meticulous about my phone battery and my portable charger is super easy to carry around all day. I’ve had it for five years and have had no use for anything else. It has two output ports, so I can charge multiple devices at once, and it’s small enough to fit in my purse while travelling. It’s quite thick so you don’t feel like it will break on you. Charging it is easy. There is a small cord that you plug into its side and then plug the charger into the wall, but any type of similar cord will work. It does take a while to charge, about a day if you want it to be full. However, it has a high capacity when full, giving you enough juice for at least three or four charges to your phone. Kayla Brock, associate social media manager

Battery capacity: 10,000 mAh Dimensions: 6" x 3" x 0.7"

I’ve had this BioLite charger for a year, and while there are smaller versions I prefer for day-to-day use (this one’s less than a pound, but about the same dimensions as my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is to say a bit bigger than I’d like when carrying it in a purse), it’s a reliable option for trips when you know access to outlets may be infrequent, and can toss it in a backpack or tote . It has two USB slots and one USB-C slot, so I’ve used it to power up other devices like my Kindle, FitBit, and AirPods. You can get two to three full phone charges before needing to plug in the battery park; for more charge time – up to five hours – upgrade to the Charge 80 . Madison Flager, senior commerce editor

Image may contain: Adapter, Electronics, Computer Hardware, Hardware, Mobile Phone, and Phone

Battery capacity: 10,000 mAh Dimensions: 5" x 2" x 1"

I’ve had this portable charger for about nine months now. I was intrigued to find one that didn’t need a separate charger – it has a fold-down plug that you can stick directly into the wall when it’s running low. I’ve charged my laptop, phone, and even camera with it. It has three built-in fast-charging cables that are compatible with Android and Apple devices, and three different cable ports along the bottom. It usually takes about two to three hours to fully charge and when I’m using it passively that can get me through two charges. It’s on the larger side, about the size of a long bifold wallet. I’ve been able to charge my Apple watch, phone, and camera with it. This is always tucked away in my backpack or tote, especially on longer flights. Paris Wilson, commerce producer

Image may contain: Adapter, Electronics, Bottle, Shaker, and Hardware

Battery capacity: 4,500 mAh Dimensions: 3" x 2" x 1"

I never go anywhere – to work, to dinner, to travel – without this tiny portable charger. It’s about the size of my AirPods case or my favourite lipstick, meaning I can pack it in nearly any crossbody, sling bag , or tote I’m carrying. And while I love it most for its compact size, it also really works – giving my phone a full charge on the go. I’ve been using mine to charge my iPhone for years and have even gifted it to several family members and friends. Meaghan Kenny, associate commerce editor

Image may contain: Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware, Mobile Phone, Phone, Computer, Monitor, Screen, and Disk

Battery capacity: 10,000 mAh Dimensions: ‎5" x 3" x 0.5" Charging power: Two full phone charges

Until being asked to test one for this story, I never really used a portable charger. This was not for lack of need – my phone’s battery is perennially in the orange, and no lifestyle changes or memory tricks have availed in fixing who I am as a forgetful person. Keeping this INIU power bank in my bag has, quite simply, made my life a whole lot easier. The charge comes lightning-fast, and its charging port is the same as required for my Macbook, plus there are two USB out ports so you can charge two devices (even three, if you want to use the charging port as well!) at once. The little paw tracks how charged up it is at any given time, with mini toes blinking blue from left to right, which is just the icing on the cake. Charlie Hobbs, editorial assistant, destinations

Pros : Can charge up to three devices at once, slim, quick charging capabilities Cons : A bit heavy

Image may contain: Electronics, and Speaker

Battery capacity: 5,000 mAh Dimensions: 4" x 3" x 0.5" Charging power: One full phone charge

For weeks, this foldable wireless charger kept popping up on TikTok and Instagram – when I finally got my hands on one, it didn’t disappoint. The credit card-sized portable power bank is probably the most compact one I own, and is magnetic, so you don’t have to pull out a cord or deal with a tangle of wires in your bag or lap when using it. At first, I was doubtful of how strong the magnet would be, and found myself being delicate with my phone when moving through an airport while charging, but over time I’ve gotten used to the durability. I’ve taken it with me on a few recent flights, and have been using the kickstand when watching videos or shows on my phone—though of note, the kickstand angle is better for viewing your phone vertically rather than horizontally. M.F.

Pros : Compact, good for in-flight or daily use, charges via a USB-C cable Cons : Can only charge a single device at once; requires MagSafe case; gets warm with extended use

Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe charger

Heading back to school  for the 2024-2025 year? Whether you're toting a  smartphone , smartwatch or wireless earbuds along with you, you know you've got to keep the right charging cable handy for juicing up your tech. But keeping all these cables around can make for some seriously poor cable management. This year, consider nabbing a multi-device wireless charger to nix the need for multiple cables completely.

We're talking about a single device that requires just one power outlet and one power cable. Simply place your smartphone , smartwatch and wireless earbuds case on that charger and those devices will all recharge at the same time. Snag one of our favorites to take with you to school this year, or give your younger scholars to make their lives a little easier.

The best multi-device charging stations for 2024

When it comes to wireless charging devices, you have a choice: There are two-in-one options available for those who use two mobile devices, as well as three-in-one options. There are also a few multi-device charging stations that can accommodate your tablet too.

  • Best multi-device wireless charger overall :  Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe charger

  • Best 4-in-1 wireless charger :  ZenGoose Apple Wireless 4-in-1 Charger

Best multi-device wireless charger overall : Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe charger

Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger

This ingenious phone, earbuds and Apple Watch charger folds up to fit in a pocket but unfolds to provide two wireless charging pads -- one for a smartphone or earbuds (like iPods) and the other for an Apple Watch . The charger features an anodized aluminum layered shell that matches a MacBook's silver color. It has a soft vegan leather interior.

The included USB Type-C cable connects from the Butterfly to an external power source. We like this charger's versatile design: It can be positioned in multiple ways, either holding your phone in landscape mode or flat when charging. Your Apple Watch also either lies flat or in nightstand mode.

We also like that the Butterfly is ready to travel internationally. It comes with a collection of five power adapters, so you can plug it in pretty much anywhere in the world and keep your devices charged easily using just one power outlet.

Best 2-in-1 wireless charger : Courant Mag:3 Classic leather dual charging tray

Courant Mag:3 Classic Dual Charging Tray

The Courant Mag:3 Classic combines elegance with convenience in a two-in-one wireless charging tray. Built into the Italian leather-covered tray is a MagSafe and Qi-compatible charging pad for a smartphone and a second (smaller) charging pad for wireless earbuds.

The Mag:3 makes a great-looking addition to a nightstand because the valet tray area has extra room to keep your small items (like a wallet and keys) organized and readily available. On the back of the tray is an extra USB Type-C charging port that can connect an Apple Watch or tablet's charging cable. A matching Apple Watch charging stand is sold separately.

The leather version of the Mag:3 is available in five colors. On the bottom of the weighted tray is a non-slip material.

A less-expensive version with a  linen covering  (instead of leather) is also available.

Best 3-in-1 wireless charging stand: Belkin BoostCharge Pro

belkin-boostcharge-pro-charging-stand.jpg

Instead of having three separate charging cables that require three separate power outlets, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro has just one cable leading to a power source. Yet it simultaneously charges up to three devices wirelessly, including your iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch.

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro charging stand is MagSafe certified. It offers fast charging capabilities for compatible Apple devices and delivers up to 15 watts of power. It also works with all iPhone cases that are also MagSafe compatible.

This is an elegant tabletop stand, made primarily from plastic and metal. It takes up minimal space on a desk or nightstand. Choose between a black or white base color.

Best 3-in-1 wireless charging pad: Belkin BoostCharge Pro pad

belkin-boostcharge-pro-pad.jpg

If you don't want a wireless charging stand but still want to charge up to three devices at once, the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 wireless charging pad offers a flat (but not foldable) design that plugs into a single electrical outlet. The pad offers three wireless charging locations, including one that flips upward to accommodate an Apple Watch and keeps the watch's display visible (in nightstand mode).

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro pad also features a minimalist design that's available in either black or white. It offers fast charging for compatible Apple devices. And because it's MagSafe-certified, it works seamlessly with iPhones within a MagSafe-compatible case.

Best Apple MagSafe, multi-device wireless charger: Torras 3-in-1 charging station

Torras 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe Charger Stand

The Torras three-in-one charging stand offers a modern-looking design that can charge a smartphone, wireless earbuds and Apple Watch at the same time. The main charging pad for the phone is both MagSafe and Qi-compatible, so it'll work with any smartphone that supports wireless charging.

This stand is also foldable and comes with a USB Type-C power cord and adapter. The charger's internal cooling system prevents overheating and helps to protect the rechargeable batteries within your mobile devices.

The charger stand also supports both horizontal and vertical phone orientations, while the magnetic technology ensures seamless alignment and secure attachment to MagSafe-compatible iPhones.

Best 3-in-1 charger for travel : Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe

zagg-3-in-1-travel-charger-with-magsafe.jpg

If you're a frequent traveler, you know that hotel rooms typically do not offer enough power outlets. So, if you want to charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time, the Zagg 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe offers a perfect, highly portable solution.

This charging pad folds for easy transport, but when unfolded, provides three separate wireless charging platforms, including one that delivers up to three watts of power to charge AirPods, one that delivers up to 15 watts of power for your smartphone and a third that delivers up to five watts of power to recharge an Apple Watch.

This charging pad is Qi and MagSafe compatible. It comes with a handy travel case. A USB Type-C charging cable and a 30W USB Type-C wall charger are also included.

Best 4-in-1 wireless charger for a desk : ZenGoose Apple wireless 4-in-1 charger

zengoose-apple-airless-4-in-1-charger.jpg

The ZenGoose Apple wireless four-in-one charger is one of a few charging stands that can charge an Apple iPad and keep it positioned at an easy-to-view, adjustable angle during charging. This stand supports any tablet that's less than 11 inches. At the same time, your Apple iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch can be charged by placing them on the stand's base. For the Apple Watch, you can lie it flat on the base or flip up the wireless charging pad so you can display the watch in nightstand mode.

This stand supports fast charging. Keep in mind, that while wireless charging is offered on the base of the stand, your Apple iPad will need to be plugged in with a cable. (You can still charge all four devices simultaneously and will only need a single electrical outlet.)

Each of the wireless charging pads incorporates over-current protection, over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, short-circuit protection and foreign object detection. Located on the base of the device are four tiny LED indicator lights that show the current status of each device being charged. Meanwhile, the bottom of the base has a non-slip silicone strip.

What's the difference between Qi and MagSafe wireless chargers?

Qi is an industry standard for wireless charging. It's compatible with Apple iPhones and many Android phones (including those from Samsung) that support wireless charging. Some other devices, like smartwatches, fitness trackers , wireless earbud charging cases and even some portable cameras also support Qi.

The technology relies on electromagnetic induction to transfer power to a mobile device, so you can recharge it without having to plug it into a USB-C power cable. Instead, you simply place the device on the pad.

What makes this technology convenient is that when you invest in a multi-device wireless charger, only the pad needs to be plugged into a power source. You can recharge several devices simultaneously without needing additional power cords. This greatly reduces cable clutter. The latest Qi2 wireless chargers allow some mobile devices to recharge even faster.

While the latest Apple iPhones and AirPods (with a wireless charging case) support Qi wireless chargers, the iPhone also supports Apple's own technology for wireless charging, called MagSafe. When used with a compatible Apple device, a 15-watt MagSafe charger allows for faster charging. It also uses magnets to hold the mobile device in place while its battery is recharging. This magnet system can be used with various Apple phone accessories, including MagSafe cases.

For example, in the US we use 110-120V whereas in Europe they use 220-240V. If we plug our electronics into each other’s outlets, they can blow a fuse and stop working. In some cases, they can even fry your hair. The video below can also shed light on adapters, converters, and the right voltage.

Wireless Charger FAQ

How does wireless charging work.

Wireless phone chargers is a way to charge your phone without needing to plug it in with a cable. You place your device on a charging pad or stand, and it will start charging automatically using an electromagnetic field. A chip controls the charging process to ensure it's safe and doesn't damage your device. Learn more about how it works here .

Is wireless charging bad for a battery?

Neither magnetic charging nor wireless chargers are particularly bad for batteries. A battery slowly wears as it is charged or discharged over time. Leaving devices always charging can be harmful to their batteries. It's recommended to unplug the device once it is charged. Learn more about safety here .

What phones have wireless charging?

Apple devices: iPhone 8 and later

Samsung devices: Galaxy Note phones: Galaxy Note20 5G, Note20 Ultra 5G, Note10+, Note10, Note9, Note8, and Note 5, Galaxy S phones: S23 series, S22 series, S21 series, S20 series, S10 series, S9 series, S8 series, S7 series, and S6 series, Foldable phones: Galaxy Z Fold, Z Fold2, Z Fold3, Z Fold4, Z Flip, Z Flip 5G, Z Flip3, and Z Flip4

Google Pixel devices: Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, Pixel 6Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro

How do I use a wireless charger pad?

To use a wireless charger pad, first plug it into a power source and place your compatible device on the pad, making sure it's centered and aligned with any guidelines provided. Wait for the charging process to start, which may be indicated by a light or other indicator. It's important to note that not all devices are compatible with all wireless chargers, so check your device's specifications to ensure compatibility with the charger and the charging standard.

How do wireless charging pads work?

Wireless charger pads use a technology called inductive charging to transfer energy wirelessly from the charger to the device being charged. This works through two coils, one in the charger and one in the device, that create an electromagnetic field. Most wireless chargers use MagSafe, Qi or Qi2 modules. Compatibility, charging speeds and other features vary based on the wireless charging technology.

How do wireless charging stands work?

Wireless charging stands are similar to charging pads, but hold the device at an angle so it can be viewed while it charges. They work by using inductive charging, which transfers energy wirelessly from the charger to the device being charged. The charger contains a coil of wire that creates an electromagnetic field, and the device being charged contains a coil that picks up this field to charge the battery. Most charging stands use the Qi standard, which optimizes the charging process by adjusting power and speed, and the device can be used and viewed while it charges.

This Is the Best All-Around MagSafe Charger You Can Buy

Want to charge your iPhone (and maybe an Apple Watch, too) with ease and speed? Here’s your answer.

tech roundup

If you’re looking for a wireless charger for your new iPhone and you want something a little more “sophisticated” than the MagSafe Charger ($39) , which is the basic MagSafe charger that Apple makes, then I suggest getting the MagSafe Duo. It’s the best MagSafe charger that I’ve tested thus far.

Before going any further, however, there’s something you have to understand about the MagSafe Duo : it’s more expensive than it probably should be. It costs $129, and that price doesn’t come with the necessary 20-watt USB-C wall adapter ($19) that’s needed to fast-charge your new iPhone. That means that the MagSafe is going to cost you $148 all-told.

But I guarantee that if you do go with the MagSafe Duo, you’re not going to regret it.

tech roundup

The MagSafe Duo does what any true MagSafe charger (of which there are surprisingly few) does: it wirelessly charges an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 at 15 watts, which is twice as fast as any other wireless charger. But it’s unique: it’s the only MagSafe charger that uses a Lightning port, which might not seem like a huge deal, but actually makes it a great alternative to wired charging for anybody wanting to charge their iPhone reasonably fast.

tech roundup

The MagSafe Duo is also ideal for people who have multiple Apple devices. The most recent AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro all support MagSafe charging, meaning they magnetically click into place so you can be more confident in their charging. And it has a separate puck for your Apple Watch, which you can simultaneously charge with your iPhone. Obviously, this means that it makes sense to have an Apple Watch if you want to justify the steep price of the MagSafe Duo.

And finally, the MagSafe Duo has a unique super-foldable design that packs up into a thin wallet-like shape, making it a perfect travel companion. Of course, most of us aren’t traveling as much as we used these days, meaning that the MagSafe Duo is likely to spend most of its days on your desk or nightstand — and that’s actually where I think it excels the best.

tech roundup

This is one of the very few two-in-one watch-and-phone MagSafe chargers that can lie flat. Many of today’s third-party MagSafe chargers, like this Belkin 3-in-1 wireless charger, stand up tall and take up a lot of desk space; meanwhile, I can slide the MagSafe Duo under my monitor to declutter my space. It can even fold up into a sandwich shape, so that it takes up even less space — yet can still wirelessly charge an iPhone. And there’s an aesthetic appeal to it, too; it’s made of softer rubber material which, for whatever reason, I find tactilely appealing.

Yes, I wish that the MagSafe Duo was more affordable. Yes, I wish it came with the necessary wall adapter in the box. And yes, I wish it came in a space gray or black color so that it matched my keyboard, mouse and iPhone. But I’ve had it for over a year and I’ve tried half a dozen alternative MagSafe chargers. And I keep coming back to it.

While I'm not perpetually living out of a suitcase, I travel a fair amount for work, and charging all of my devices without bringing along an inextricable mess of cables is a serious challenge. For that reason, multi-device chargers always catch my attention.

That was the case with the Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station, which was just announced at IFA 2024 . It can top up your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods in a compact form factor that weighs less than seven ounces. This was enough to earn our Laptop Laurel for the best phone accessory of IFA 2024.

Best of IFA Berlin 2024: Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station

Charging the three devices alone wouldn't have been enough; it delivers the fastest charging possible to your devices with some flexibility in the watch and phone stand components.

The Qi2-certified MagSafe iPhone charger can charge your iPhone at 15W and lifts a full 90 degrees, allowing you to conveniently use your phone as an alarm clock or just to watch content hands-free while it charges.

The Apple Watch portion of the charger can also top up an Apple Watch Series 9 smartwatch to 47% in just 30 minutes with full MFW certification.

Then, with the iPhone stand extended, the AirPods charging pad is exposed, allowing you to top up all three devices simultaneously.

Once everything is folded down and tucked in, the charger is about the size of a deck of cards and packs away easily. You plug it in with an included 40W USB-C charger and 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable.

The Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station is a perfect example of a straightforward device that is well-executed. This tiny charger will let me power and organize all of my devices without taking up almost any room in my bag, that's a win on all fronts.

The Nearly-Complete list of Guest-Accessible Electrical Outlets in California Adventure Park

By Rob Cockerham | February 24, 2019

Power Outlets at Disneyland

Here are some photos of electrical outlets in Disney's California Adventure. Some weatherproof outlet covers are actually covering audio cable connections, so be prepared for that disappointment.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

These outlets are near the drinking fountains on Buena Vista Street.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

This outlet is on the wooden Pixar Pier, by a store called "Knick Knacks", the Lamplight Lounge and the Character Gazebo.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

About a fourth of the green light posts throughout California Adventure have electrical outlets on them.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

Here is an outlet on the exterior of Disney's Animation Academy on Buena Vista Street. The Fremont list describes other outlets inside this building.

  • Four outlets outside on the East facing wall of Animation Building
  • Two outlets in the Zoetrope room on the floor in the Animation Building
  • Multiple outlets in hallways entering and exiting Animation Building
  • Hallway of Sorcerers Workshop in the Animation Building

Power Outlets at Disneyland

This one is basically in a restricted area outside the line at Ariel's Undersea Adventure.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

This one is also probably impossible to reach at Guardians of the Galaxy Escape.

The Fremont list also describes other outlets inside Guardians of the Galaxy Escape: 3 outlets in Tower of Terror one next to the elevator on the far right one next to a bench in the exit hallway & one on the right of the exit of the gift shop .

There is a penny smashing machine next to the exit. I bet there is a free outlet where that machine is plugged in.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

Most bathrooms have an outlet near the exit, but you'll want an extra long charging cord if you want to use these, otherwise you are going to be standing in an awkward spot for a half-hour.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

Here's an outlet near the Incredicoaster bathrooms.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

This one is just outside the extended standby line for Toy Story Midway Mania. You'll have to step out of line to charge here, but you should be out of everyone's way.

Power Outlets at Disneyland

This covered outlet is on one of the upper levels of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Honestly I don't know if it is a power outlet or an audio outlet. Let me know when you climb up there?

The Fremont list includes these spots, but I didn't verify that they still exist in 2019.

  • There is an old stage in the Bay Area (Next to Pixar Pier) where the bands used to play. Any stage seems prepared with electrical outlets
  • Every red parade light stand has two power outlets and two audio (xlr) jacks
  • In the Boudin Bread tour to the right of the entrance
  • Outside the Boudin tour at the pay phones
  • In the Blue Sky Cellar to the right of the exit
  • Taste Pilot southwest corner at a table
  • At and behind the pay phones across from Soarin’
  • Next to the store across from Soarin’, there are outlets there.

Verizon provides home internet access through a variety of technologies, including fiber optic and digital subscriber line (DSL) connections. Verizon Fios fiber optic connections provide internet speeds ranging from 100 Mbps to 940 Mbps (megabits per second), depending on the plan and availability in your area. These speeds are ideal for high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and large file downloads.

You may return devices that are not damaged within 30 days of purchase (the date of activation) and a re-stocking fee of $50 will apply to any return or exchange of a wireless device except where prohibited by applicable law (excluding defective devices that may be exchanged for the same model that are covered under the 30 day warranty). Verizon activation fees are non-refundable unless you terminate the service within 3 days of activation. Some accessories such as screen protectors or earphones are not returnable if the box was opened and the items were used. Damaged devices are not eligible for returning (items returned in the original condition within 30 days are refundable after the restocking fee) although damaged devices may have trade-in value towards the purchase of a new phone, tablet, or smartwatch from Victra.

You may buy warranty coverage such as Verizon Mobile Protect for any device within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, warranty upgrades are no longer allowed until specially designated upgrade periods referred to Open Enrollment is underway.  During the weeks of open enrollment, you can enroll your device in Verizon Mobile Protect if the device is fully functioning, without damage (including liquid or cracked screens), and free of defects/malfunctions.

You can  check your Mobile Protect eligibility  in My Verizon. If Device Protection is listed under the Get Products tab, you’re eligible to enroll.

If you’re bringing your own device, you can  check device compatibility  before signing up for a new line of service.

Note: Verizon Mobile Protect isn’t available in New York or for New York customers until 4/21/22. Prepaid accounts aren’t eligible for Verizon Mobile Protect at this time.

Usually Victra store employees like to start discussions about data plans with the  5G Play More  data plan from Verizon and recommend it because it is a Premium Unlimited Plan which means you may receive more value from Verizon when trading-in your device in the future and upgrading. Also 5G Play More offers access to appealing streaming solutions such as  Disney+  (included),  Apple Music  (6 months free),  Apple Arcade  (12 months free),  Discovery+  (12 months free),  Hulu  (included),  ESPN+   (included) as well as  25 Gigs of hotspot data per line . Ultimately finding the right data plan comes down to your budget, preferences, historical usage patterns, personality, device as well as sometimes your occupation can make a difference.

Yes! Verizon makes it easy and financially compelling to join our 5G cellular network which wins  awards regularly for performance and reliability . You can come to Victra and Verizon’s network even  if you want to keep your existing phone  number and to change your account over to a Verizon account we would need your account # and password from your previous carrier in order to bring you over to Verizon and set up your account with the same phone number as before. If you want to keep your phone and change phone numbers, Victra can also do this and install a Verizon SIM card into your phone and help you with setting up your new account and device.

Trading-in is easy – we have been doing them for years. Just bring your phone in and we will review your device and account details with Verizon  then offer you on the spot the best available promotions based on your current data plan and needs. You will know your trade-in value during your visit and our store employees can do the math to explain by exactly how much your monthly bill will be changing before and after your trade-in.

You will receive  instant credit  for trading in your eligible device, meaning your credit and benefits start accruing right away if you are an existing Verizon customer who is upgrading or adding a new phone line.

When you upgrade or add a new line you’ll be given the option to  trade in your device . Once you provide details about your  trade-in device , if you’re eligible for  instant credit , your credit amount will display. You can apply the credit towards your order for instant savings.

If you’re not yet a Victra customer, you can get account credit for your old device. If you’re not interested in purchasing a new device while trading your old one, you can trade your device and get a Verizon gift card or a PayPal account credit.

The device that I want to trade-in is active (is receiving calls and using data on any network) – what can I do? If the device you’re trading-in is currently active and you’d like to keep the line active, you must first swap the device with an inactive or new device before turning it in. If the device is active on our network and not with another carrier network, please visit our  Activate/Switch Device FAQs  for more information about this process. Devices that are active on a  Device Payment Agreement   (DPA)  are ineligible for trade-in until the  DPA  has been paid in full. You won’t receive credit or a gift card for the traded device until it’s deactivated. For more details on how exactly you can trade in your device please visit the  Device Trade-In Guide  and for more information on other topics such as device eligibility please to the Trade Your Mobile Device in  FAQs  page.

You can manage your Verizon communication preferences through the  My Verizon App  or sign up for notifications on  Victra.com

Here are some things you can do to ensure we can make your visit as efficient as possible. Visits in our store usually can take customers anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour with a store employee depending on your particular needs. For more information on what you can do before your store visit please visit Victra’s recommended  To Dos Before Your Store Visit page .

(1) Bringing a valid form of identification helps to maximize the range of solutions available in our stores.

(2) It helps if you are an authorized user on the relevant Verizon account before coming into our store so we ask that you check on that before walking in as it helps us verify your account and we can help you more in the store. This especially applies to children or teenagers – if they come in unaccompanied into our store and want to upgrade or change their plans with Verizon we are not able to serve them until they are an authorized user on the Verizon account. They can only buy accessories!

(3) Victra recommends that customers bring their current ID and passwords for accessing their device and cloud information.

Password Reset Assistance:

Resetting iCloud Password

Resetting Verizon Cloud Password

Resetting Samsung Cloud Password

Resetting Google One (Android) Password

Resetting Google One (iPhone and iPad) Password

(4) If you are coming over to Verizon or Victra from another carrier or network, please bring your account number and login as well as password information for your account with the other carrier – this will be needed before transitioning over to Verizon’s network.

(5) Victra also recommends that device-owners perform any software updates and data back-ups to their cloud (Apple, Verizon Cloud, Samsung Cloud, Google Cloud…) at least 3 hours before coming into the store and back ups also can be done directly onto a computer via a USB cable. Taking these actions will help Victra employees assist you faster. For more information on ways to back up your devices please see below:

Please send an email to [email protected]  with as much detail as possible including the Victra store that you went into if applicable and Victra’s Guest Escalations department will reach out to you within 48 hours (2 business days)

Our customers are able to take advantage of any current in market promotion within 14 days of their purchase. For more information please visit one of our stores or contact Victra Customer Care at 1-800-279-3550 (open from 9 am to 9 pm EST, Monday – Friday)

Sometimes a basic phone or even a flip phone is a great fit for a child or an elderly parent/grandparent. However, we’ve found that some of our elderly guest prefer a larger smartphone display for easier viewing over a basic flip phone. The iPhone SE is popular for children wanting an Apple iPhone without breaking the bank. We have many budget friendly Android devices that have a lot of the same great features for a fraction of the cost.

We recommend scheduling an online appointment through our  Store Locator  because it will prioritize your visit over others in the store during the hour that you select. Also before visiting one of our stores we recommend spending a minute to read  our recommendations regarding ways that you can prepare in advance for your in-store visit  to make it faster.

Rest assured that Victra store employees are informed on the latest promotions from Victra and Verizon which are also typically found on  Victra.com  because our website is updated weekly with new promotions. There are also frequently in-store and  Verizon.com  discounts usually applying to device data plans for active military and veterans, first-responders, students, teachers, or guests who are 55+ years young. Verizon also encourages auto-pay enrollment to pay monthly directly from your bank account and paperless billing enrollment – enrolling in these can be an additional way a way to save $5 to $10 per phone number on your Verizon account.

*FAQs were published on 5/11/2022 and future product offerings and prices are subject to change. Answers provided in the FAQs section on Victra.com apply to Victra’s network of over 1500 stores and may not apply to Verizon stores or Victra-managed independent store operators (sub-agents).

California Highways Are Ready for EV Road Trips

EV Life | 3/10/2021

Colleen Jansen, Chief Marketing Officer

When travel begins again, EV drivers planning long-distance trips in California will have even more options for convenient places to charge their vehicles. With funding from the California Energy Commission and the North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District, ChargePoint recently installed charging stations at 49 locations to serve highway travelers. Whether cruising up the Northern California coast through the redwoods, enjoying a mountain getaway in Tahoe or Yosemite, or heading to sunny desert landscapes in Southern California, these new stations have you covered.

Each location has DC fast charging to get EV drivers back on the road quickly, as well as Level 2 charging for cars without fast charge capability or for drivers staying longer to eat a meal or stay overnight. All of the locations are collaborations with businesses excited to support EV drivers and clean transportation.

The charging locations are listed below, with numbers corresponding to the map above.
