The 18-passenger Grace was once owned by Grace Kelly. The ship sails three routes, taking eight to 15 days, and guests get plenty of snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, and panga rides along the way.

Ecoventura Letty

The Letty is one of the best full-service motor yachts in the Galápagos for value. This 20-passenger boat is a solid option with great service and comfortable accommodations. A trip on the Letty promises a 10 guest-per-guide ratio, as well as dinner with the captain. You get a choice between two seven-day itineraries, each including opportunities to snorkel, hike, and learn about the local wildlife from knowledgeable guides.

Ecoventura Origin

The 20-passenger Origin is like a floating boutique hotel. All 10 cabins are on the same deck, there’s an open-bar policy, and Wi-Fi is available on board. Passengers can choose between three itineraries, ranging from eight to 15 days and taking different routes around the Galápagos.

Lindblad Expeditions National Geographic Islander II

All cabins on the 48-passenger National Geographic Islander II have windows, and some even have private patios. The ship offers deck hammocks, Wi-Fi, and food made with ingredients sourced from farms in the Galápagos whenever possible. Itineraries range from seven to 12 days and include cultural experiences in addition to wildlife viewing and water sports.

Large Galápagos Ships

Galápagos National Park officials have set a maximum of 100 passengers per vessel, so these are some of the largest ships in the archipelago. Travelers may opt for a larger-capacity cruise ship for more space (such as bigger hallways and staircases for easier movement around the ship) and increased services like an onboard doctor. The downside of traveling on a large ship is the time it can take to complete transfers by zodiac from the boat to the islands. Also, some areas of the Galápagos may be off limits to larger ships.

Lindblad Expeditions National Geographic Endeavour II

The 96-passenger National Geographic Endeavour II has Wi-Fi, a doctor, SUP gear, a clear-bottom zodiac, a free digital photo kiosk with iMacs, and a spa. Like the Islander II, food brought from the mainland is carefully prepared and packaged to prevent the introduction of invasive species to the Galápagos Islands.

Celebrity Flora

The 100-passenger Celebrity Flora features all of the design elements, amenities, and services of its sibling ships and then some. It has two 1,288-square-foot penthouse suites (the largest in the Galápagos), naturalist-guided stargazing sessions, and outdoor cabanas that you can reserve for a unique glamping experience.

Silversea Silver Origin

The 100-passenger Silver Origin is an all-suite ship with accommodations up to 1,722 square feet, some with in-room espresso machines and mini-bars, private verandas, and butler service. Celebrity Xploration

The 16-passenger Celebrity Xploration is arguably the most luxurious catamaran in the Galápagos. Its eight suites and junior suites feature extras like binoculars, personal refrigerators, a pillow menu, and room service. Anahi Yacht Catamaran

Galápagos Nortada

The 84-foot Nortada has only four cabins and can sleep eight guests. Passengers can congregate on the bridge, the galley, or in the dining room and lounge. Dive trips last either seven or 14 nights, and itineraries include up to four dives a day.

It's also up to you to follow the Leave No Trace guidelines and make sure to respect all of the rules that your guides tell you (like not feeding the animals and staying on the trails). 
• Plan your trip around your interests. From kayaking and scuba diving to hiking and photography, activities offered on most itineraries are varied and entertaining. Most cruises try to fit in at least two daily excursions and activities to maximize your experience. If you're an avid kayaker or photographer, for example, make sure that your itinerary allows for plenty of time for these options.

How Much Does A Galápagos Cruise Cost?

This typically depends on cruise length, comfort level of your boat and choice of cabin category, although seasonal and single supplements may also apply. On average, short cruises of 5 days or less cost from $2,500 pp, and longer cruises of 8 days or longer from $5,000 pp based on double occupancy.

Prices typically exclude the cost of flights to the islands (around $500) and the National Park entrance fee (currently $100, soon to be $200 starting 1 Aug 2024). Most cruises are all-inclusive with the exception of alcoholic beverages and tips. To help reduce the cost, keep apprised of last minute Galapagos Islands cruise deals or consider a private Galapagos cruise charter which often prove more cost effective if traveling in a group.

Do I Need A Visa For The Galápagos Islands?

You do not need a visa for the Galapagos Islands per se, but you may require a visa for entry into Ecuador dependent upon your nationality. U.S. citizens do not need a visa to enter Ecuador for stays less than 90 days in any 12-month period, however your passport must be valid for at least six months at the date of entry and have one blank page for your entry stamp. There are, however, several entry requirements for the Galapagos (see below).

Are There Any Galápagos Entry Requirements?

To enter Galapagos, travelers must present the following documents at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil before their flight to the islands:

• Return air tickets between the mainland and Galapagos
• Private travel health insurance
• Transit Control Card, which is available at the airport for a cost of $20 (cash only)

Upon arrival at the airport in Galapagos, travelers must then present their Transit Control Card, and pay the requisite National Park entry fee before they are allowed to enter.

How Many Days Should You Spend In Galápagos?

We always recommend a minimum of 5 days to adequately experience the Galapagos Islands and strongly advise 8 days to truly appreciate their incredible endemic species and otherworldly landscapes. What Is The Food Like On A Galapagos Cruise?

The cruises offer a wide selection of international and Ecuadorian food , including a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken, rice and pasta, as well as fish and seafood which, as you might imagine, is abundant and fresh. The most famous local dish is the ceviche, made with freshly-caught lobster, octopus, squid, or shrimp.

About 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador , in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the Galapagos Islands are a remarkable place to visit for wildlife sightings. The cruise companies use various descriptors of where they go, but basically, if your ship heads north and west, you'll see more volcanic landscapes; if you go south or central, you'll explore more beaches and bays. Hurtigruten expedition experience on Santa Cruz II

Also operated by Metropolitan Touring, the 90-passenger Santa Cruz II is an expedition ship with contemporary decor and comfortable single, double and triple cabins.

When you aren't in your cabin you might catch views from the ship's two hot tubs. Activity equipment includes snorkeling gear (with wet suits available to rent), a glass-bottom boat and kayaks, plus a top-deck fitness room.

The ship, which is operated on a carbon-neutral basis, is under charter to the well-regarded expedition company Hurtigruten for select dates from now through March 2025 and some dates in 2026.

Cost : Eight-night packages combining a six-night cruise with two hotel nights in Quito are available from $11,227 per person. Other options include 11-night cruises from $10,171 per person and six-night itineraries from $5,734 per person.

Yachting with Quasar Expeditions' Grace

What’s included in your galapagos islands cruising tour.

You’ll have comfortable accommodation on the boat each night as you cruise around the islands of the Galapagos. As a rule, expect your days to be filled with walking treks and snorkelling, all accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide and a variety of optional activities. Excluding the first and last days of the trip, fresh meals will be provided by the on-board chef for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What’s not included in your Galapagos Islands cruising tour?

Any activities not listed in the itinerary for each trip that have not been assessed by us. Therefore, our staff and leaders cannot assist with booking these activities. The decision to partake in any activity not listed is at your own discretion.

This includes any and all diving activities. Due to our internal safety policy, our leaders are specifically prohibited from recommending or assisting with booking diving activities.

What’s the difference between Intrepid's cruising tours and other Galapagos Islands trips?

There's no better way to see the Galapagos Islands than by boat. Unlike our other trips, which rely on ferries and overland travel, boats allow you to discover the more remote islands, like Fernandina, the west coast of Isabela and the bird watcher’s paradise of Genovesa.

The authorities ensure that the number of boats at each site at any one time are limited. Far from restricting your experience, this system enhances it because the itineraries are designed in such a way as to eliminate the amount of vessel crossover. The result is visitors witness more of the wildlife they’ve come to see without vying with boatloads of other tourists to see it.

Where are the Galapagos Islands?

The Galapagos Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean off the western coast of Ecuador in South America, right on the equator.

How far are the islands from mainland Ecuador?

The islands are 973 kilometres (605 miles) off the Ecuadorian coast and are considered remote from the mainland.

When’s the best time to visit the Galapagos Islands?

One of the best things about the Galapagos is that it has one of the most temperate climates on the planet making it a great place to visit all year round. 

If you’re seeking the warmth, temperatures average around 86°F from January to May, but you’ll encounter some humidity and the occasional rain shower. The cooler dry season from June to December sees temperatures closer to the 80°F mark, but this is also when sea mammals and birdlife tend to be easiest to spot.

That being said, there’s something to see all year round, with giant tortoise eggs hatching in January, blue-footed boobies dancing their way through courtship in May, and fur sea lion pups abundant in October.

What is the climate like?

While the Galapagos Islands are on the equator, its unique location means it avoids the extremes of a tropical climate and the weather is fairly reasonable all year round. They do experience a distinct ‘dry season’ from June to December and a ‘warm season’ from January to May. The dry season brings the Humboldt Current from the south to cool the air and water. While the highlands of the larger islands stay green with the atmospheric mist that creeps over the skyline, there’s little precipitation around the sea-level islands. The warm season brings higher temperatures to the islands and the water that surrounds them, while the skyline gets a little cloudier, with rain a daily occurrence.

What is the water temperature in the Galapagos?

Average water temperatures vary between seasons. From January to June, the water tends to be between 70°F to 80°F, while from July to December, temperatures are closer to 65°F to 75°F.

Do you cruise between the islands during the day or at night?

The short answer is a bit of both. Expect to do some island-hopping during the day, but the longer hours of travel will likely take place in the evening. Check your daily itinerary for specific travel information.

How rough are the seas? Will I get seasick?

The waters around the Galapagos Islands are usually pretty calm, and seasickness is a minor issue for most passengers. Big swells and major storms are rare.

January to April are known for pretty glassy conditions with only minor swells, while the water starts to get rougher from June to August. The shifting Humboldt Current makes August and September the months with the liveliest waters. Consequently, travel times can be longer than usual. If you suffer from seasickness, you may want to reconsider travelling during this period.

The extent and severity of seasickness vary from person to person. Some may be lucky enough to experience no symptoms at all, while others may suffer headaches, dizziness and vomiting. Usually, all symptoms of seasickness resolve after some time adjusting to life onboard. If you're prone to motion sickness, we recommend consulting your doctor before arriving to see what medications may work for you.

How much should we tip the staff and crew?

If you have enjoyed the services your guide and crew provided, a tip will be very much appreciated. As a guideline USD $10-15 per passenger, per day, is standard for the crew, with $7-10 per day for your guide. Tips can be left in envelopes in your cabin on the last day of your journey.

Some restaurants may already include a 10% service charge in the bill, in which case an extra tip isn't required. At places that don't, feel free to round up the bill or leave some spare change.

What activities are included?

The included activities vary with each day and trip, but as a rule, most guided walking treks and snorkelling activities are included. Check your daily itinerary for specific information.

How do we get from the boat to the shore?

You will be using a zodiac boat (or panga) during wet and dry landings and when returning from snorkeling.

What food will be offered on-board?

Meals will be prepared by your on-board chef for breakfast, lunch and dinner, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. For breakfast, expect toast, spreads, muesli and eggs with fresh fruit and juices. Lunch will typically be a mix of hot and cold dishes, as well as salads or vegetables, fruit salad and juice. Dinner includes fresh seafood, chicken or pork, pasta, rice, vegetables, salads, and dessert.

Are drinks available on-board?

Coffee, tea, soft drinks and water are available 24 hours. Each boat also comes with a fully stocked bar.

What should I pack for the Galapagos Islands?

The weather in the Galapagos is fairly temperate all year round. In most cases you’ll either be in the water snorkeling, on an island walking or relaxing on the boat as you travel between islands. You should check the Essential Information of your trip for a specific list, but below is a suggested packing guide for the Galapagos:

Daypack (a smaller backpack that you can take with you on island excursions)

Comfortable clothing for warmer temperatures (shorts, t-shirts, light long-sleeved tops and pants)

A fleece or warmer jumper for the evenings or early mornings

A light raincoat or poncho

Comfortable shoes. Trainers or walking shoes are sufficient for most trips, however, several trips include a volcano walk and some travelers may feel more comfortable in hiking shoes or boots.

Sandals or thongs/flip flops/sandals

Sunscreen (bio-degradable and waterproof if available) and lip balm (to combat the effects of windburn)

Sunhat (that can be secured as it can get windy out on the water)

Swimming costume

Water bottle (filtered water is available on board the boat)

Bio-degradable shampoo, conditioner and soap

Pegs (so you can hang your swimming costume or towel out to dry)

Insect repellent (for island visits)

US adaptor/electrical plug

Binoculars (for keen birdwatchers)

Any required medications

Some travelers bring their own snorkeling equipment, but this is a personal choice. Diving masks, snorkels and fins are provided onboard the vessel for all passengers. Beach towels are also provided. Wetsuits are available for hire at an additional cost.

Are there any luggage restrictions?

Although each cabin has space to store bags, space is always restricted on a boat, so we suggest you take a backpack or soft-sided duffle bag. These bags should be easily stored in your cabin. Larger fixed suitcases are usually too big to store in the cupboard space.

If you're travelling with a larger bag, you can leave it behind at the start hotel on Day 1 and borrow one of our kit bags, which hold about 12kg. The hotel provides this service, and although we haven’t had issues with theft in the past, we highly recommend that you don’t leave any valuables behind.

The airline we use for our Galapagos trips has a check-in baggage allowance of 23kg per person and a cabin baggage allowance of 10kg.

Will there be a certified nature guide on board?

Each trip is accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide. Our guides are registered and trained in conservation and natural sciences by the Charles Darwin Foundation and licensed by the Galapagos National Park Service. The guide will be on board with you for the duration of the trip and will accompany you on all excursions.

Can I charge my phone on-board?

You can charge your phone on-board, however, electricity in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands requires US plugs so you may need to take an adapter.

Additionally, mobile phone coverage is almost non-existent while travelling around the islands. You may find that you only have some limited service when you are closer to the bigger islands.

Is internet access available on-board?

Wi-fi is not available on the boat at all in the Galapagos Islands. There's limited access on the bigger islands of Santa Cruz, San Cristobal and Isabela and there may also be the occasional internet cafe for you to use if there is time.

Is there air conditioning on-board?

Cabins are air-conditioned, as are communal indoor areas.

Do I need any immunisations or vaccinations to visit the Galapagos Islands?

Though there is no risk of yellow fever in the Galapagos Islands, travelers from infected areas must obtain a vaccination certificate.

You should visit your doctor or travel clinic for up-to-date advice and schedule vaccinations 4-6 weeks before your departure date, as some require time to become effective.

When you cruise to San Cristóbal Island in the Galápagos Archipelago , you'll encounter wildlife you won't find anywhere else on Earth – on shore excursions aboard panga (Zodiac-style rafts) for "wet landings" in shallow water or dry landings on rocky beaches. At Cerro Colorado, the breeding center of giant Galápagos Tortoises, you'll see some of the ongoing conservation efforts underway to save these endangered behemoths... although the elusive tortoises, who nap up to 16 hours a day, are not easy to spot in the wild. Getting there

For those traveling on Aqua Mare’s 7-night East itinerary and 14-night East & West itinerary, embarkation and disembarkation will work as follows:

Embarkation

Meeting Point: Arrival terminal, Seymour Airport (GPS), 12:30 PM

Guests will be welcomed by the Aqua Mare team at Seymour Airport upon landing. They will be able to indulge in refreshments at the airport’s VIP lounge while waiting for their luggage. Following this, guests will be escorted on a short cross island transfer to the jetty. They will board Aqua Mare around 01:00 PM.

Disembarkation

Guests will disembark Aqua Mare at Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. Following this, they will be taken on a cross-island van and ferry transfer to Seymour Airport (GPS). They will be able to relax in the airport’s VIP lounge before boarding their flight to Quito or Guayaquil.

Aqua Mare’s expert guides are incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the region’s landscape, flora, and fauna. They’ve been handpicked by Aqua Expeditions to offer an enriching, entertaining, and highly educational Galapagos tours. Whether it’s easy beach walks or on more challenging hikes, they will share the most valuable insights about the islands’ history, geology, and wildlife. Some of the best hiking or walking paths include:  

• Sullivan Bay : one of the most geologically interesting sites due to its magnificent display of pahoehoe lava landscapes, a type of smooth basaltic lava flow solidified into an uneven terrain of swirling and rippling patterns.  
• Bartolome Island : a challenging climb up 374 wooden steps to a viewpoint that offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Galapagos Islands and the iconic Pinnacle Rock.  
• Los Gemelos (Twin Craters) : Two huge sinkholes formed by magma chambers where visitors have the chance to observe diverse birdlife and lush green vegetation.  
• Egas Port : Offers a relaxing walk along its black sand beaches and lava shoreline as Sally Lightfoot crabs cross your path and fur seals are found resting peacefully in the rocky caves.  
• Rabida Island : Known as the red island for its beautiful Mars-like landscapes of a peculiar reddish color, caused by the oxidation of iron oxide in its soil – a product of its volcanic origin.

Up-Close Wildlife Encounters

More than 9,000 different species of flora and fauna populate the Galapagos Islands. Among these are remarkable creatures found nowhere else in the world – giant tortoises with life spans of 150 years, some of the only penguins found north of the equator, iguanas that have learned how to swim, and a bird that lost its ability to fly. It is no wonder these enchanting islands are famously referred to as a “living laboratory of evolution”.

Due to the lack of predators in the region, the animals and birds of the Galapagos do not feel threatened by humans. This lack of a defensive instinct makes it possible to approach and observe them up close – while still maintaining the safe distance required by the National Park, of course. Every island you visit on your Aqua Mare voyage will present magical encounters with exotic life forms. Here are a few visits to look forward to:

• Suarez Point : Chance to see a large colony of waved albatrosses, an extremely rare bird species only seen on Española Island. The trail also includes sightings of sea lions, nesting colonies of blue-footed boobies and Nazca boobies, and red- and green-colored marine iguanas.  
• South Plaza : A small island where visitors can walk through colorful Galapagos carpetweed and giant Opuntia cacti, as well as spot beautiful seabirds such as the endemic swallow-tailed gull. This is the only place in the world where hybrid iguanas can be found – the result of crossbreeding between a male marine iguana and female land iguana.  
• Cerro Dragon (Dragon Hill) : Home to a robust population of land iguanas, where guests will also come across arid zone vegetation such as cacti and Palo Santo trees and might be able to spot flamingoes at a hidden saltwater lagoon.  
• El Chato Giant Tortoise Reserve : Amazing encounters with giant tortoises in their natural habitat, as well as Darwin’s finches and short-eared owls in a beautiful area of pastures and Scalesia forests.

Snorkeling and Diving

Snorkeling is a wonderful way to experience the incredible biodiversity found in the waters surrounding the Galapagos Islands. Many snorkeling sites in the archipelago feature shallow, gentle waters frequented by marine wildlife. As with land species in the Galapagos Islands, those underwater don’t shy away from humans either, making sea adventures delightful. Be prepared for playful sea lions and gentle sea turtles to swim harmoniously around you while on our luxury Galapagos cruise.

Aqua Mare provides each guest with their own snorkeling gear to keep throughout the entirety of their voyage, which includes a mask, snorkel, fins and a wetsuit. Our favorite snorkeling sites in the Galapagos Islands include:

• Las Bachas Beach : An important nesting site for the Pacific green turtle, this is a prime location for a Galapagos turtle excursion to encounter these aquatic species while swimming in the beach’s calm, crystal-clear waters.  
• Sombrero Chino : A hotspot where the unique Galapagos penguins and white-tipped reef sharks are frequent sightings.  
• Espinoza Point : A spot for up-close encounters with epic marine iguanas, a rare reptile species only found in the Galapagos Islands.

Tender Explorations

Aqua Mare is equipped with two military-grade black tenders that offer guests the most comfortable means of transport between the yacht and excursion sites scattered throughout the Galapagos Archipelago.

Tender rides are a fun and relaxing way to explore the islands, allowing guests to enjoy the sea breeze and admire the beautiful landscapes. Highlights on tender rides include:

• Black Turtle Cove: A pristine mangrove estuary that can only be explored with the tender engines turned off, as we look out for green sea turtles, pelicans, white-tipped reef sharks, and rays in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.  
• Moreno Point: An entertaining tender ride that takes guests across the rocky shoreline to admire the stunning scenery and observe diverse shore bird species from penguins to blue-footed boobies and flightless cormorants.  
• Buccaneer Point: A fascinating journey to learn about the swashbuckling history of the islands, along the coastline of a former anchorage point used by British pirates.

Kayaking and Paddle Boarding

The Galapagos Islands’ feature areas designated for kayaking and paddle boarding activities. These calm waters offer the perfect scenario to explore the shore landscapes and marine life from a unique perspective. Aqua Mare is equipped with eight top of the line double-kayaks and two paddle boards for guests of all ages to venture out on their own and at their own pace.

The main locations for kayak and paddle adventures in the Galapagos Islands include:

• Tagus Cove: Kayaking in this deep-water bay will take you close to the shore, where flightless cormorants and Galapagos penguins hang out on the cliff ledge. As a former pirate hideout, you will be able to see their graffiti left on rock walls as evidence of their presence.  
• Espumilla Beach: Take your pick between a kayak or paddleboard to catch a glimpse of octopi, moray eels, and even sharks, while Galapagos hawks circle overhead.  
• Darwin Bay: A beautiful coral beach for excellent chance encounters with sea lions, boobies, frigate birds, and hundreds of colored reef fish.

Weather and Climate

The weather in the Galapagos Islands is fairly moderate with average temperatures ranging between 69°- 84°F (21°- 30°C). This is because of the influence of ocean currents which are responsible for creating its two distinctive seasons: the wet season and dry season. Overall rainfall levels in the Galapagos Islands are quite low, resulting in predominantly arid zones in the lowlands near the shore. On the other hand, mist enables lush green vegetation to flourish in the highlands of larger islands.

Wet/Warm season

December to May marks the hottest season in the Galapagos archipelago, characterized by clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. The predominant current during this period is the Panama Current, which brings warm waters to the archipelago, making it ideal for snorkeling. Heavy but short rain showers are frequent during the afternoons, transforming the landscapes with lush green vegetation.

Dry/Cooler season

June to November marks the cooler season in the Galapagos Islands, characterized by cloudier skies. During this period, southern trade winds are stronger, powering the effects of the colder Humboldt Current and Cromwell Current. The cold waters of the Humboldt current are responsible for the mist present during this season, particularly in the highlands. In fact, this season is locally known as ‘garua’, which is the Spanish word for mist. Although visibility is not as clear as the wet season, the waters are a lot more active and flushed with life as sea animals feed on the nutrients brought in by the cold currents.

Best time for wildlife encounters

There are opportunities to encounter endemic wildlife in the Galapagos Islands all-year-round. Here are the creatures you’re likely to run into depending on when you visit:

• In January , land birds begin nesting so we will be on the lookout for rare species such as red boobies, Nazca boobies, flightless cormorants, and frigate-birds. It’s also prime time to witness sea turtles start laying their eggs on the beach.  
• February’s the time to spot greater flamingos on Floreana Island and nesting marine iguanas on Santa Cruz Island. Frigatebirds on North Seymour Island can also be seen partaking in courtship rituals during this time.  
• In March and April , waved albatrosses, the largest bird species in the Galapagos, start to migrate back to Española Island for the courtship season where pairs mate for life.  
• April also marks the time when sea turtle and land iguana eggs start to hatch.  
• May is the best time to catch the vibrant blue-footed booby mating dance, as well as other endemic birds such as penguins, flightless cormorants, and flamingoes.  
• In June , marine life thrives and magical sightings of the humpback whale are possible.  
• July brings in even more marine life such as bottlenose dolphins, orcas, hammerhead sharks, Bryde’s whales, and the beloved gentle whale sharks.  
• In August , giant tortoises start to lay their eggs on Santa Cruz Island.  
• September ushers in the breeding season for California sea lions and fur seal pups.  
• October is when the endemic lava herons start building their nests close to the ocean.  
• November is an exciting month – it’s one of the last chances to encounter hammerhead sharks before they migrate as the dry season comes to an end. Curious sea lion pups that were born a few months ago are now old enough to come out and play in the sea too.  
• December is a month of clear, sunny skies – time for the Galapagos giant tortoise eggs to hatch. It’s also possible to witness male marine iguanas fighting each other during their mating season.  

Best time for active excursions

Depending on when you visit the Galapagos Islands, there are different opportunities for  activities such as hiking, snorkeling, and diving. Here’s a look at the top highlights for each month:

• Between December to March , there is excellent visibility underwater, perfect for swimming with penguins, snorkeling, and diving.  
• In February , sunny skies allow for excellent kayaking and paddle boarding adventures too.  
• May has great weather with lower temperatures paired with lower rainfall and humidity. This is perfect for aquatic activities.  
• In June and July , cooler temperatures are perfect to swim with sea lions as their breeding season begins.  
• The continuing Humboldt Current in August reduces some visibility but in return it attracts a variety of marine life courtesy of its rich nutrients.  
• September is a fantastic time to swim with penguins too as they are active on Bartolome Island.  
• October and November feature cooler weather, ideal for hiking expeditions along Galapagos’ volcanic terrain.
