copenhagen free walking tours copenhagen denmark

This post lists the best Copenhagen free walking tours you can take when visiting the capital of Denmark.

We show you free walks of the city center, Christianshavn, notable locations related to the Renaissance, as well as pub crawls.

There are a few different free walking tours available in Copenhagen that cover a variety of subjects and historic locations in the city.

City center tours are the most common, and you can expect these services to include both historic and notable locations in Copenhagen.

The tours listed below are run through us. More tours are available in the following sections.

Searching Availability...

Here is a calendar with more of the best free walking tours in Copenhagen.

We even offer our own free, self-guided tour of the city center.

Some companies may also provide tips about the best restaurants, shops, and other attractions you may want to visit in the area.

If you’re more interested in seeing another side of the city, there are also tours covering Christianshavn , a historically Bohemian neighborhood that is considered by many to be the “alternative” district of Copenhagen.

There are also tours that cover the most historic aspects of the city, with a specific focus on Renaissance architecture and landmarks.

Copenhagen Walking Tour

Free walking tours are technically pay-what-you-like tours. Instead of paying an upfront cost, you can pay the guide what you thought the tour was worth at the end.

This means these tours are very popular and affordable and attract large crowds.

So, for travelers who want to ensure an experience with smaller groups of people, we recommend paid small-group tours .

  • Overview + Schedule
  • City Center
  • Christianshavn
  • Renaissance Sites
  • 3-Day Itinerary

Alternatively, you may also want to consider a self-guided exploration game all about fairy tales and legends if you're looking for an outing your children might enjoy.

TIP: Take the popular hop-on-hop-off bus tour through Copenhagen for an easy mode of transportation that can help you cover more ground than you would while walking.

Copenhagen Walking Map

Click the map to enlarge it or to download it to a smartphone.

This is the headquarters of the municipality and Lord mayor of Copenhagen, and the current building was first inaugurated in 1905.

The architectural style on display ii National Romantic, but it was also partially inspired by the Siena City Hall.

One of its most notable features is a gilded statue of Absalon above the balcony and clock tower.

City Hall, Denmark

Speaking of which, the clock on display here is Jens Olsen’s World Clock, an astronomical clock that tracks both lunar and solar eclipses, the positions of stellar bodies, and a perpetual calendar in addition to telling the time.

In addition to serving as the home of the municipal council, City Hall Square is also a popular location for concerts and celebrations every year.

There are a few interesting things to see in this square, including the Dragon Fountain, a statue of Hans Christian Anderson, and the Lur Blowers bronze monument which towers to the left of City Hall.

Tivoli Gardens

This is the second oldest amusement park in the world that is still operating to this day, and it first opened in 1843.

In addition to being such a historic location, it’s also the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world.

The original founder of Tivoli was Georg Carstensen, and he received a charter to create the amusement park by convincing King Christian VIII that “when people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics.”

Tivoli Gardens

The earliest attractions here included a theatre, flower gardens, bandstands, a scenic railway, and simplistic amusement rides like a merry-go-round.

Tivoli originally hired Hans Christian Lumbye to compose music for their park, and his music was inspired by the works of the Strauss family, which garnered him the title “Strauss of the North.”

They still play his music to this day.

Over the years, Tivoli has brought in several new amusement park rides including the Rutschebanen, one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the world.

This is the seat of the Danish Parliament. The building also serves as the Danish Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court of Denmark.

Since it serves so many purposes, this is technically home to the three supreme powers of the Danish political system: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch.

This is the only building in the world to house all three branches of government.

The building before you today is actually the third of its name, with two others being constructed on this exact site since 1167.

Christiansborg Palace

As a result of the different palaces constructed here, there are three eras of Danish architecture on display including Baroque, Neoclassicism, and Neo-baroque.

The equestrian statue in front of Christiansborg Palace depicts Christian IX. It was designed by Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen, wife of composer Carl Nielsen.

If you’re interested in seeing the interior, there are tickets available for the various buildings comprising the palace.

Even if you don’t feel like spending any extra money, you can visit the Christiansborg Castle Church for free on your way toward our next stop.

It’s also worth noting that access to the viewing platform in the Tower is entirely free to access, and this is the tallest tower in the city, offering some of the best views of Copenhagen.

This is actually one of the newer castles in Copenhagen, built in 1606 as a country summerhouse.

It’s also one of the finest examples of the Dutch Renaissance style of architecture.

Rosenborg Castle was originally used as a royal residence until the early 1700s.

While it has been used for that purpose two other times since then, the last time was in 1801.

Rosenborg Castle

This castle now houses a museum that exhibits the Royal Collections, which are artifacts from throughout the history of royal Danish culture from the 16th - 19th century.

This is also where you’ll find the Crown Jewels and Danish Crown Regalia, the coronation chair, the coronation carpet, the throne, and many other notable items.

While it’s not free to enter Rosenborg Castle, it is free to enjoy arguably the best view of this historic building from the King’s Garden.

You can also spend some time walking around and enjoying the fountain, playground, and other areas.

King’s New Square

This public square is centrally located near many notable locations in Copenhagen, including our next three stops: the Royal Danish Theatre, the Charlottenborg Palace, and Nyhavn.

This is the largest public square in the city, and it was laid out by Christian V in 1670.

You'll find an equestrian statue in his honor at the center of King's New Square.

King’s New Square

The foot of the plinth has four statues depicting Alexander the Great, Minerva, Herkules, and Artemisia.

These statues symbolize fortitude, prudence, strength, and honor.

At the time when this square was built, it was intended as part of a plan to expand the city, and the result was that the city center moved from the medieval area of Gammeltorv to this new location.

The old kiosk in this square was built in the Baroque Revival architectural style in 1913 and served as a telephone stand for some time before being transformed into a small cafe.

Royal Danish Theatre

Although this theatre was originally built in 1874, the theatrical company itself was founded in 1748, and it first served as the theatre of the king.

Today, this theater is open to the public and hosts a variety of performance art including opera, ballet, and orchestra.

Royal Danish Theatre

This is the home of the Royal Danish Ballet and the Royal Danish Orchestra, the latter of which has existed in one form or another since 1448.

The Royal Danish Theatre can seat up to 1,600 people at a time, and ticket prices range from somewhat affordable to quite expensive.

Charlottenborg Palace

Built in 1677 in the Baroque architectural style, this was originally the home of Ulrik Frederik Glydenlove, an important general who led during the Scanian War.

Ulrik was the half-brother of Christian V, who donated the land to him. This was the first building on New King's Square.

Eventually, when Ulrik became too old to take care of the house by himself, he sold it to Queen Charlotte Amalie in 1700, and that's where the palace earned its current name.

Charlottenborg Palace

When Charlotte Amalie passed away in 1714, ownership of the palace was handed down to Christian VI, who would have a small theatre added to the residence.

Even before that, the Academy of Arts began using this palace for its activities in 1701, and the school would eventually be formally inaugurated in 1754.

Later on, in 1787, ownership of the palace was officially handed down to the Royal Danish Academy of Art, which still occupies the Charlottenborg Palace to this day.

This district of Copenhagen is one of the most photographed locations in the world, as it is lined with bright and colorful 17th-18th century townhomes that make for an excellent photo opportunity.

Author Hans Christian Anderson lived here in Nyhavn for 18 years of his life.

Fans of his work should definitely take a moment to look around and take in the view that likely inspired the great writer for many years.

Nyhavn

Due to its accessibility by boat, this area was also frequented by fishermen and ships carrying various cargo, making it a fairly important economic location.

Over the years, Nyhavn developed a reputation thanks to its many bars serving beer and drinks to sailors and prostitutes.

That said, as ocean-going ships got larger, fewer came to port in Nyhavn, and thus there weren't as many sailors, and the reputation of the area slowly faded.

Today, this area is mostly a popular tourist destination for anyone who wants to snap a picture of themselves with the perfect background imagery.

Amalienborg Palace

This is the home of the Danish royal family.

Although it was originally built in 1750 for four noble families, it would eventually be purchased by the royal family, who have resided here for over 200 years.

The design of Amalienborg follows the Rococo architectural style.

There is an equestrian statue of the founder of the palace buildings, King Frederick V, at the center of the square.

Amalienborg Palace

The four palaces that make up Amalienborg are named after some of its former residents: Christian VII's Palace, Christian VIII's Palace, Frederick VIII's Palace, and Christian IX's Palace.

Amalienborg is guarded 24/7 by the Royal Life Guards who march every day at 11:30 am from Rosenborg Castle to Amalienborg to perform the changing of the guard.

This is also the site of Amaliehaven, a two-level garden with several beautiful sculptures and a central fountain.

And much, much more

The Little Mermaid Statue

The Little Mermaid Statue

The icon of Copenhagen If you're planning to visit Copenhagen, one of the most popular attractions you won't want to miss is the statue of the Little Mermaid. This iconic sculpture is located on the Langelinie pier. It is the symbol of the city and is a magnet for millions of tourists every year. You can visit the statue on your own, but it's worth considering a walking tour of Copenhagen to learn more about its history and culture. Many city tours include the Little Mermaid as one of their stops, allowing you not only to see the statue up close, but also to gain a deeper understanding of its significance to the people of Copenhagen. The Little Mermaid is a 1913 sculpture by Danish sculptor Edvard Eriksen from the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. The statue depicts the mermaid sitting on a rock by the water's edge, looking out over the harbour. Although it looks like a simple sculpture, it's actually quite complex and detailed, with intricate details on the mermaid's scales and flowing hair. One of the reasons why the Little Mermaid is so popular is because of its emotional connection to the people of Copenhagen. The story of the Little Mermaid is one of sacrifice and love, and it resonates with many people around the world. In fact, the statue has become a symbol of the city's resilience and strength, especially in times of turmoil and strife. A walking tour of Copenhagen is a great way to learn more about the city's history and culture.  Many tours include stops at famous[...]

Life in Denmark by an expat

Life in Denmark by an expat

Denmark, a small country located in Northern Europe, is known for its high standard of living, rich culture, and friendly people. The Danish society is characterized by a number of unique features that set it apart from other countries, especially when it comes to social life. In this article, we will explore some of the peculiarities of social life in Denmark. One of the most striking features of social life in Denmark is the concept of "hygge". Hygge, which is pronounced "hoo-ga", is a Danish word that roughly translates to "coziness" or "contentment". It is a cultural phenomenon that emphasizes the importance of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, often through the use of candles, soft lighting, warm blankets, and good company. The idea of hygge is deeply ingrained in Danish culture, and it is often cited as one of the reasons why Denmark consistently ranks as one of the happiest countries in the world. Another aspect of social life in Denmark is the concept of "Janteloven". Janteloven, which translates to "the law of Jante", is a set of social norms that discourage individualism and promote humility. The law of Jante is based on the idea that no individual should consider themselves superior to others, and that everyone should be treated equally. This can manifest itself in many ways, such as a reluctance to show off wealth or achievements, or a tendency to downplay one's own accomplishments in order to avoid standing out from the crowd. Social gatherings in Denmark are also unique in their own way. For example, it is[...]

Discover the hidden gem of Copenhagen: Christiania

Walk around Copenhagen When most people think of Copenhagen, the first thing that comes to mind is the stunning architecture of the Old Town, the beautiful parks and the bustling waterfront. However, there is much more to this city than meets the eye. A hidden gem that is often overlooked by tourists is Christiania, a unique neighborhood in the heart of Copenhagen. Christiania, also known as Freetown Christiania, is a self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood founded in 1971. It was created by a group of squatters who took over an abandoned military base in the center of the city and created their own community, free from the rules and regulations of mainstream society. Today, Christiania is home to around 1,000 people who live in a tight-knit community that values sustainability, creativity and freedom. The neighborhood is known for its vibrant street art, eco-friendly lifestyle and relaxed atmosphere. Visitors who take a tour of Christiania can expect to see a side of Stockholm far removed from the polished image of the city's royal palaces and high-end boutiques. One of the best ways to explore Christiania is to take a free walking tour of the neighborhood. These tours are led by knowledgeable local guides who provide insight into the history, culture and social dynamics of the community. Visitors can learn about Christiania's origins, its struggles with the authorities, and its current status as a haven for artists and activists. During the tour, visitors can also see some of Christiania's most famous landmarks, such as Pusher Street, a narrow alley lined with stalls selling cannabis, and the Green[...]

Free walking tours in Copenhagen

The best way to really get to grips with a city is to take a walking tour with a knowledgeable guide who can show you all the local hot spots and sights.

Whether you’re a first-time-visitor who wants to see the big attractions, or are on the look out for some unknown gems, there’s no shortage of walking tours in Copenhagen. And the best news is that some of them are free!

Nyhavn, one of the top sights to see in Copenhagen on a free walking tour

There’s a whole raft of walking tours in Copenhagen run by in-the-know locals, and many of them have no upfront fee – you simply give the guide a tip at the end if you’ve enjoyed the tour. So check out some of our favourite free walking tours.

See the city sights tour

First time in Copenhagen and want to see the top sights in an easy half-day walk? This free walking tour takes in the colourful Nyhavn harbour, the impressive Amelienburg Palace, where the Danish royal family spend the winter, and the domed marble church.

This tour gives you the insider knowledge on Hans Christian Anderson, the Danish Resistence during World War II and shows you some of Copenhagen’s top examples of Danish architetcure.

The tour can be booked in either English or Spanish.

Take a history and culture tour

Fancy something a bit more cultural? This free guided walking tour explores Copenhagen’s Renaissance masterpieces, from the city’s neoclassical cathedral to the seventeenth-century Rosenburg Castle.

Want to see the more alternative side of the city? Check out this f ree walking tour of Freetown Christiania , Copenhagen’s semi-autonomous state. Around a thousand people live in this alternative community, with a laid-back atmosphere, which was set up in the 1960s and has its own rules and regulations.

With its yoga rooms, meditation huts and tolerant attitude to drugs, Christiania has a hippy vibe about it and recycling has been the norm here for years.

This community of free-thinkers is home to some quirky and imaginative buildings, such as a house made entirely of windows, and you can wander round its cobbled streets, admiring the colourful graffiti and innovative junk art on display.

How much should I tip?

Almost all of Copenhagen’s free walking tours are ‘free’ in that you won’t have to pay any money upfront. At the end of the tour, you will be asked (and perhaps expected) to give your guide a tip.

If you’re happy with the tour then we’d definitely suggest tipping – for many guides it’s a vital source of income. Around 100 DKK per person is a fair amount to leave. If you’d rather avoid the sometimes awkward feeling that comes with tipping, go for one of the paid-for tours listed below.

Paid-for walking tours

Copenhagen’s free walking tours are good, but if you fancy something a little more detailed or intimate, or don’t like the idea of paying on a tips-only basis there are plenty of paid-for walking tours on offer that cater to all interests. Here are some of our favourites.

Foodie Copenhagen

Copenhagen is a gastronomic hot spot, and this culinary walking tour takes in some of the city’s best foodie destinations . Home of Noma , the Michelin-starred restaurant that kick-started the New Nordic cuisine trend, Copenhagen is rightly proud of its local ingredients, food halls, markets and innovative restaurants.

This tour takes in five foodie hot spots, and gives you a whole feast of info on buying and preparing ingredients, and new cooking techniques.

Simpatica e professionale

Who is this tour for?

What should you know, others tours from this guru, others cities to visit after copenhagen, where are you traveling to.

A Local’s Guide to the Perfect Long Weekend in Copenhagen

Cycle to the harbor, pick up scandi-chic clothing, and indulge in plenty of pastries..

Outdoor seating and a baker at Lille Bakery in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is renowned for its food, including the bread and pastries at Lille Bakery, but there’s much more to the city.

You might have seen the news : This summer, Copenhagen is trying to reduce tourism’s environmental impact by rewarding visitors who add sustainable activities to their itineraries. Bike to a particular café, get a free cup of coffee; help weed and harvest vegetables at an urban farm, get a free meal (a biodynamic one, of course).

Was there ever a more Copenhagen-y promotion? This, after all, is the city that became the first in the world to set a zero-emissions goal; the place that converted 90 percent of the food served in its public kitchens to organic; the capital that not only built a municipal power plant that runs on waste but also turned that plant into a massive ski slope. Bringing tourism along for the sustainable ride seems right on brand.

The tourism initiative is more than good publicity. What I’ve realized after a decade of living in Copenhagen is that the Danish capital’s regular emphasis on sustainability is a big part of what makes the city such a joy. From the abundance of parks to the nearly 400 kilometers of bike lanes, the clean harbor waters that turn the entire inner-city harborfront into a beach, and the organic produce and natural wines that form the building blocks of the city’s thriving restaurant scene, Copenhagen is a rare metropolis that ensures fresh air and nature are never too far from its vibrant urban life. Here’s how to make the most of four days in Copenhagen.

A sculpture and the buildings of Design Museum Danmark in Copenhagen

Design Museum Danmark has a storied history. It was built in 1751 as the country’s first public hospital and has hosted Kaare Klint’s design studio and furniture school.

Day One: Grab a bike and explore the harbor

First things first: You’re going to need a bike. Not only is cycling the quintessential way to get around this city, it is also the most efficient and fun. There’s no shortage of bike-lending options, but to contribute to the local economy instead of an international tech company, skip the apps and rent from a brick-and-mortar bike shop like Baiskeli . Mount up and head toward the harbor for lunch and a tasty introduction to one of Denmark’s great culinary contributions: the open-faced sandwich. For Martin Ho, who grew up in Copenhagen and owns the insanely popular natural wine bar Pompette, Lumskebugten is the smørrebrød purveyor of choice, noted for its refined approach to classics like smoked eel with scrambled eggs. “They peel the tomatoes—that’s how much they care,” he says. “It’s the kind of place where you want to become a regular.”

After lunch, you can go see The Little Mermaid statue if you must (she’s about a minute away by bike), or get a beautiful view of the harbor by walking around the top of Kastellet, a still-active, oddly adorable military base that functions as a city park. Then, choose your entry into different parts of the Danish experience: Visit either the Museum of Danish Resistance , whose fascinating interactive exhibitions tell a gripping but nuanced story about the difficult choices the country faced during the Second World War, or the recently renovated Design Museum Danmark , which helps explain why so many homes are filled with sleek Danish modern chairs. Whichever you choose, make your way afterward to the nearby wine bar Lille Blå , whose Yves Klein–blue walls offer a striking backdrop against which to refresh yourself with a glass of Grüner Veltliner. The cobblestone streets and long rows of ocher-colored houses make the Nyboder neighborhood, with its smattering of appealing design shops—like Frama for clean-lined housewares or Hanne Bertelsen for lusciously colored ceramics—ideal for strolling on the way to dinner. At Alouette , newly installed across from the effusively floral King’s Garden, American-born chef Nick Curtin brings punchy flavors to pristine Nordic ingredients and relaxes the fine-dining ambitions with warm, laid-back service.

Day Two: Cardamon buns and peaceful parks

Though they are native to neighboring Sweden, Copenhagen has become the city of cardamom buns, and you might as well start with the best: Juno , in an eastern part of the city known as Østerbro, is worth the inevitable lines for those and other stellar pastries, and in good weather, the terrace is a prime breakfast spot. From there, cycle past the lakes to SMK , the national art museum, which combines rooms of works by Europe’s greatest artists with Danish galleries that always seem like a discovery—and, pro tip, an enticing gift shop. But it’s what’s outside that most entices Lars Hinnerskov Eriksen, a culture journalist for Denmark’s largest newspaper, Politiken . “To alleviate the stresses of a busy workday, I take a stroll through the parks of central Copenhagen,” he says. “Along the paths around the lake in Ørstedsparken, then a quick inhale of the produce in Torvehallerne’s food market, and onto the bucolic oasis that is the botanical gardens.” Or you could do the reverse; start at the botanical gardens to take in their leafy winding paths, the Victorian glass house filled with tropical imports, and the wondrous butterfly house. Then hop over to the market just in time for tacos at Hija de Sanchez or charcuterie and cheese at Omegn & Venner .

It sounds corny, but if you’ve never been to an old-school amusement park, Tivoli is a delight. One of the few located smack in the middle of a city, it is a true European pleasure garden, with whimsical rides, beautiful flower gardens and, in summer, a serious lineup of artists performing on Friday nights. You could stick around for dinner at one of the guest pop-ups; this year, the acclaimed Faroe Islands restaurant Koks will be cooking. Or you might ride a bit west to Surt , in Carlsberg Byen, to eat a meal that Ho—who geeks out in amazement over the well-hydrated sourdough base that the owner, Peppe, turns into perfectly chewy, charred crust—calls “some of the literally best pizza anywhere.” After that, choose your temptation: luscious ice cream at the newly opened Aurora right around the corner, or luscious cocktails and sweet-sounding vinyl at Bird , a quick bike ride away.

Day 3: Tour a graveyard before hitting up the beach

Another morning, another bakery. Rondo , in Nørrebro, makes a beautiful, orange-scented morning bun (think brioche with a lot of sugar). From there, take a short stroll through Assistens Cemetery . . . which sounds like a weird place to visit but is delightful: The graveyard is not only Hans Christian Anderson’s final resting place but also an urban refuge. Exiting on the north side will bring you to Jaegersborggade, where you can get a pour-over coffee from one of the original Nordic revolutionaries, Coffee Collective , and shop for delicate ceramics, Scandi-chic clothing, and homemade chocolates on a street loaded with independent shops. On weekends, Baka d’Busk , with its wildly creative all-vegetable cooking, raucous dining room, and funky wines, is a great place for lunch.

In the afternoon, ride to Amager Strand, a long, sandy beach where you’ll find Danes swimming regardless of the weather (those feeling a bit less Viking can escape the elements by continuing on a little further south to the aquarium). After, swing by Josephine , which manages simultaneously to feel like both a cozy neighborhood bar and the most insidery wine spot in Copenhagen, for an aperitif. Christiania may no longer host an infamous open-air cannabis market (the city closed Pusher Street for good earlier this year), but its imaginative DIY homes and green setting still offer a glorious backdrop for a stroll. After, head to neighboring Christianshavn for dinner, either at Kadeau , a New Nordic standard-bearer whose creative cooking and warm, polished service is inspired, or the more casual Donda , where bright, Latin-inspired seafood and cocktails fill the menu.

An exhibition inside Copenhagen Contemporary.

There’s plenty of space in Copenhagen Contemporary for larger art projects, “art that can often be entered and sensed with the whole body”.

Photo Couresty of Copenhagen Contemporary

Day 4: More pastries and a quick sauna

It’s your last morning in Copenhagen, so of course you’re going to want one last bike ride and pastry. Ride out to Refshaleøen for breakfast at funky, friendly Lille for fresh, cream-filled berliner and spicy sausage rolls. It’s a short jaunt from there to Copenhagen Contemporary, a sprawling gallery in a raw, industrial space that once comprised the former shipyards—a space that Eriksen loves not only for its ambitious installations, but also because it has “an interactive playground for kids to paint, build, and dream their way around the themes of the artwork.” At La Banchina , built into an old boathouse, you could round out the day with a sauna and a dip in the harbor or with a light bite and one last glass of natural—of course—wine.

Where to Stay

Pamela Anderson and sons strike a front-row pose at Copenhagen Fashion Week

copenhagen free walking tours copenhagen denmark

Pamela Anderson and her sons Dylan Jagger Lee and Brandon Thomas Lee have spent lots of quality family time in Europe recently, including striking a cool, front-row pose at Copenhagen Fashion Week on Aug. 8.

The trio were in attendance at a show for Rotate, a Copenhagen-based brand that focuses on dazzling minidresses and "covetable pieces for the going out wardrobe."

A white and black color palette dominated the collection's inventive pieces, many accented with gold details, fringe and cutouts. Two standout pieces featured denim as well: a column dress and baggy pair of jeans, each featuring intricate buttoning to elevate the look.

Anderson and her sons' looks played beautifully into these themes, with the model and actress looking breezy and chic in a white and neutral ensemble, to which she later added rounded black sunglasses for a bit more edge (and sun protection).

Dylan Jagger Lee opted for a monochromatic look as well, wearing an all-black, oversized silhouette with Wayfarer-style dark shades to complement his mom's eyewear.

Brandon Thomas Lee went for a James Dean-inspired look, pairing a black leather jacket with classic jeans and boots for an ultra-cool effect.

: Count Nikolai of Monpezat wears white jacket, pants outside Mark Kenly Domino Tan during day three of the Copenhagen Fashion Week

Prince Joachim of Denmark's son Count Nikolai gazes adoringly at model girlfriend

The royal's girlfriend, benedikte thoustrup, made her debut at copenhagen fashion week .

Melanie Macleod

It was a big day for Danish royal Count Nikolai of Monpezat on Wednesday when he sat front row to watch his extremely glamorous girlfriend, Benedikte Thoustrup, walk the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Count Nikolai, who is based in Australia, donned head-to-toe white for the occasion, slipping on a pair of tinted sunglasses as he posed beside his striking girlfriend, Benedikte Thoustrup.

Benedikte was walking in the Mark Kenly Domino Tan show - her catwalk debut at the Danish fashion celebration, and we suspect the royal was supremely proud of his partner, who also rocked an all-white look on the runway, perhaps inspiring Count Nikolai's look.

Who is Count Nikolai's girlfriend?

Beautiful Benedikte is the founder of BénéSoie, a family-run brand of hair clips, hand-sewn bags and silk bands for heatless curls.

The Danish beauty splits her time between Australia and Copenhagen

The Danish model works on the brand alongside her mother Anette and her grandmother Rita, who is behind the sewing machine.

As well as returning to their native Denmark, Benedikte and Count Nikolai have been jet-setting around Europe, posing in several glamorous locations.
