You Me At Six are an alternative rock band who formed in 2004 and hail from Surrey, UK. They have rapidly transitioned into a world class act.
When Josh Franceschi (vocals), Max Heyler (guitar), Chris Miller (guitar), Matt Barnes (bass) and Dan Flint (drums) began the band back in 2004, who knew the enormous heights that this group of teens would achieve.
Citing early influences in bands like Brand New, Blink-182 and Thrice, the band released their debut album "Take Your Colours Off" via small independent label Slam Dunk Records in 2008. The album featured their explosive hits "Save It for the Bedroom" and "Kiss and Tell", with pop-punk elements in abundance they garnered great support from UK music publications Kerrang! and Rocksound. As they toured relentlessly playing small club shows across the country whilst becoming a regular addition to their label's annual music festival, Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds, UK, the band continued collecting avid fans along the way.
In October 2008, YMA6 got their big break when they were given the opportunity to support US pop-punk heavyweights Fall Out Boy on their UK arena tour, ending at the iconic Wembley Arena, London. Following a string of sold out tours and rising popularity, the band went from playing small slots to headlining Slam Dunk Festival in 2009.
In 2010, the band released their highly anticipated second album "Hold Me Down" through Virgin Records which featured the anthemic tracks "Liquid Confidence" and "Underdog" as the band's sound matured, retaining their catchy melodies. The album reach number five in the UK album charts. You Me At Six made their international foray as they played the iconic and intense US Vans Warped Tour.
Their heaviest album to date “Sinners Never Sleep” released in 2011 reached number three in the UK charts and featured guest appearances by Parkway Drive's Winston McCall and Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes. The album produced the stand out tracks “Bite My Tongue” and “Loverboy”. Later that year the band went home with "Best British Band" at the Kerrang Awards.
After a year of touring the world the band capped off a monumental year, by playing their biggest ever headline show at Wembley Arena, London on 8 December 2012 titled "Final Night of Sin". Playing to a sold out crowd of 12,500 people at the place where their career had really kicked off four years previous was not only a huge milestone for the band, but fulfilled many a dream.
Throughout their successful career, the band have played alongside bands like Parkway Drive, All Time Low, Paramore and A Day To Remember whilst playing a host of national and international festivals such as Reading & Leeds, V and Soundwave.
In 2014 the band achieved their first ever number one album with "Cavalier Youth”. Churning singles like “Fresh Start Fever” and “Lived a Lie” has seen the band continue scaling to incredible heights. For You Me at Six, the only way really from here is onwards and upwards.

As soon as the house lights are down, screams fill the arena and there’s only one name on everyone’s lips. “You Me At Six! You Me At Six” chant the crowd in unison, even more the band have taken to the stage, a small taste of the passion that You Me At Six fans possess.
Sitting high at the top of their game, You Me At Six have fervently worked over last decade to deservedly achieve that position. Boasting four highly successful studio albums met with a whole host of accolades, it’s no surprise that they are one of Britain’s biggest rock bands right now. As YMAS have matured physically and also musically they’ve been able to successful adapt their musical style without alienating their current fan base but also enables them to reach out to new audiences. Touring the world has further increased their fan base reaching into territories such as Asia and South America, who’d have imagined 10 years ago that this Surrey band would have made it this far. December 2012 saw them playing the biggest headline show of their career thus far at a sold out Wembley Arena to a crowd of somewhere in the region of 12,500. The Final Night Of Sin as the show was aptly called, saw Sixers (a term used to describe avid fans) travel from all over the world to catch this memorable experience. Arriving early at the crack of dawn to secure their spot in the queue to ensure they guarantee a place at the barrier, the best seat in the house.
Kicking off proceedings with one of their newer tracks “The Swarm” accompanies but bursts of smoke and magnificent beams of light, YMAS then progress into “Loverboy” and no matter where in the room you are stood, you can hear every single person sing along word for word from the top of their lungs.The crowd jump up and down as they are enthused by the energy that the band are providing. Creating the perfect balance between both new and old tracks in their repertoire, Josh Francheschi leads the crowds with his impeccable vocal range whether it’s heavier tracks such as “The Consequence” or more slow-tempo like “Always Attract”. Part way through the set the band recall memories of supporting Fall Out Boy in this very venue back in 2009, an emotional and unforgettable moment not only for them but the fans who have accompanied and supported them along the way. Ending the set with an encore “Stay With Me”, “Bite My Tongue” and “Underdog” with the roman numeral six on a huge light display, pyro and confetti cannons set into the crowd, it’s a spectacular ending to a what is undoubtedly an unforgettable show for all the right reasons.
You Me At Six can do no wrong, the only way from here is up. Prepare to be amazed.

You Me at Six were fantastic live! They're super interactive with the crowd, they get you pumped and they let you know what they're feeling. First they immediately came on with a new song, Too Young; released on their latest record Cavalier Youth. Then while playing underdog they wanted everyone off their feet, jumping to the music. Not many people knew the words to the newer songs, but one girl I was standing near had her head down on the barrier. While the lead singer Josh was performing he was trying to motion for her to get up and have fun, when she wouldn't, he walked over to her and told the crowd and the band to stop. "You're in the front row and you look like you're about to fall asleep!" Josh stated. The girl said she doesn't know the words, but Josh was JUST singing the melody. He said "I was just teaching you!" and he began to sing the melody "Ooh woah oh, Oh woah oh oh!" and the girl wouldn't sing so he got the whole crowd to sing along so she'd sing. She finally did and Josh told her to wake the f*** up. Later in the performance Josh asked everyone to say hi to someone they don't know and a bunch of girls wouldn't do it and he exclaimed "people are falling asleep, don't know how to say hello, what the f*** Orlando?!". After the next song he talked about how he remembers a time where there were no mobile phones at every concert. He asked the crowd to put them away for just the next 3 songs and be in this moment and enjoy the concert right here right now. Of course a few didn't listen so he reached out into the crowd and snatched their phones away and put them on the kit riser. This of course made everyone just get out their phones more, so once Josh caught on, he just took their phones and smacked them down on the barrier. When he gave everyone their phones back, he gave sarcastic remarks to how great these kids were. It was great. I love how sassy Josh can be but I wish the crowd could have been better for them.
Being at the barrier for this concert was something else entirely. You are closer to the band which makes you feel the experience much more. You feel like you are on the stage.
You Me At Six. Where to start. This was my fourth time seeing them and i have to say it was their best yet. they get better everytime. They came on stage completely fired up and their energy and passion didnt stop once. They interacted with the crowd they played every song brilliantly. Josh said his voice was gone but he was amazing, one of the best id heard him. They just felt like a unit and it was incredible. The setlist was packed with great songs and they performed every one with emotion of some sort and they had a great time along with the crowd you could feel the energy. The whole experience of no one does it better and take on the world, two of their really emotional songs, brought tears to me ad it was just beautiful to hear them at such a level.
During Save it for the bedroom a song from their first album, Josh encouraged crowdsufers, and i have never experienced that till now and it was fun. There was so much going off. Josh sat on the egde of the stage and was high fiving the crowd sufers but the security( doing a really good job) were holding people back so Josh jumped off the stage and started running along the botoom high fiving people in the front row. The energy and the sound of that song sounded great. they jazzed it up a bit making it sound mature.
Ending with Room to Breathe was incredible it rounded off a perfect night and a perfect setlist and they sounded incredible till the end.
The You Me At Six concert at Rio Theater was a bomb! Josh and the others did a great job entertaining the crowd. One of the best things was that the theater was small and even the back rows were fantastic!
I'm only 13 and I came with my mom and let me just say: if you're of a younger age and you have over protective parents, don't pull off a rock concert like this one. Josh was constantly swearing and making dick jokes, at one point he asked the audience to take off an item of clothing and you could imagine how many bras were flashed at him. That's when I started thinking of what I had gotten myself into but my mum wasn't too angry with me after it was over.
Back to Josh, at the concert he (for the first time ever) asked everyone to stand on their seats since it was a theater!!! It was really fun, everyone was so into the music, different people of different ages united by it. Oh, and it was also cool how Josh did Oli's solo part in Bite My Tongue, he was great!
Oh and not to forget the special treat we got after the concert. After it had all ended and people started going home, we sat into the car and started driving home ourselves, when we saw all of YMAS, alone, in an alleyway walking towards our car. They were EXTREMELY close, so naturally I lost my gift of speech. When I finally gathered myself, I screamed "Hi, Josh!", getting a "hi" right back from him. It was pretty crazy, the whole experience was amazing!
I think hand on heart I can honestly say I have never seen You Me At Six perform better. It was a crazy night the band were on fire and the crowd were insane.
The did a nice mix of current and old tracks. I think the biggest reaction of the night was to my favourite track Bite My Tongue, the whole floor became a circle pit.
It was amazing to see them in such a small venue having been to O2 when they played there at the beginning of the year. I suspect this kind of venue will be very rare in the future of You Me At Six.
I am so pleased I was there to witness a great British band become amazing. I cannot wait to see what the new album will bring and to see them again.
You Me At Six: the best band known to man. Not only does this band sound amazing on their albums, but they sound even better live! This concert was incredible. With my VIP passes, I got to go in early to listen to an acoustic set. Josh's powerful voice mixed with the musical talents of Dan, Chris, Matt, and Max blew me away. This is true for both the acoustic and regular show. YMAS have been my favorite band for around two years now. They always captivate me with their music. Every single album they've put out has had a different sound & I appreciate that. They're amazing. Everyone should appreciate them.
I saw You Me At Six when they performed in Portland, Oregon. The concert experience was amazing. I had a VIP ticket so my night started with an acoustic performance in the back of a parking lot, and only got more surreal from there. The concert was amazing and honestly what I would have expected had I never been to a You Me At Six concert before. When Leeds Festival was brought up I had to laugh because so many of the people surrounding me were in their early teens and had no idea what Leeds Festival was. The music was great, the crowd was good, and the memories will stick with me forever
Sometimes it seems to me that I too often call a concert my favourite, but it was just incredible! I have not listened to You Me At Six for as long as I did in the first year of my uni, and now I have no words to express all the emotions after the show. Even the warm-up was magical! I only shoot two songs, because I did not want to be distracted from what was happening on stage. The guys gave their best, sang so many favourite songs, and they were so kind to the audience! So many jokes, kind words and small stories! An unforgettable experience! Thank you!
Freaking great gig!
They did a mixture of their new album and older songs too which made for a great show! The atmosphere was insane especially through Take On The World where everyone had their flashlights on and were singing along (Josh stopped singing for a minute to here the crowd), and also when they sang Save It For The Bedroom where Josh motivated the crowd to crowd surf to the front and so many people got involve, it was amazing!
I had an amazing time and definitely recommend them to anyone who hasn’t yet seen them!
It was alright. Event staff was walking around, pushing people and making it seem like something bad was happening. Instead of enjoying the show, it felt kind of weird because the bands kept trying to get people to jump or other weird activities. Band sang half the time and the other half was expecting crowd to sing. I don't know, I guess it was an interesting experience... Most other bands just sing and let things happen but don't make it seem forced. Maybe I was just in a weird mood :)

You Me At Six announce break-up, confirm 2025 farewell world tour
Some shock news… After 20 years as a band, You Me At Six are set to call it a day in 2025 – but not before they tour the world and say a proper goodbye to fans.
You Me At Six have just announced that they are splitting up.
The Weybridge rock staples – comprised of Josh Franceschi, Max Helyer, Matt Barnes, Chris Miller and Dan Flint – are set to call it a day in 2025, during what will be their 20th year as a band.
Frontman Josh explains that things are all good and it’s simply “time” for it to end, sharing in a statement: “When we started YMAS we were kids. We only ever wanted longevity, to travel and to experience life as a group of friends. We feel like on the eve of our 20th anniversary as a band, now is a good time to call time. We’re in a fortunate position where our fans still want to see us live and come celebrate the life of this band. So that is what we will do for 2024 and 2025. We can’t wait to see our fans on the road.”
They’re yet to announce any of these farewell shows for next year, but in the immediate future of course you can celebrate all things You Me At Six with next month’s 10-year anniversary tour for Cavalier Youth , before the band headline Slam Dunk in May – their last-ever festival appearance.
Kerrang! recently caught up with Josh before the news of the band’s break-up was made public, and he said that they are “all really comfortable” with the decision they’ve made.
“It’s something we’ve been talking about for a couple of years,” Josh said. “Pretty early on in our career, we became quite obsessed with the idea of longevity. We were like, ‘How can we create our own luck and create a space for ourselves so we can have a sustainable business – and I hate that word – to be able to travel and see the world and do it for as long as possible?’ We gave ourselves a target of 20 years, and next year is 20 years of the band. We’ve got to a bit of a crossroads in our lives now where we all love what You Me At Six is, what it has given us, and what we’ve been able to give with it, but we also feel like we’ve done everything we wanted.”
“We always wanted to go out on our own terms,” he added. “No-one’s in the dark about what’s happening, and that means we can enjoy it more. If we were to rock up to Slam Dunk, and be like, ‘This was our last gig, see you later,’ drop the mic and walk off… I think we’re better than that. And I want people to remember our band as being their band.”
