I really enjoyed the tour. It was a long time in the road, 37 days, and we covered many of the must see place in India. I was glad that I saw the south as well as it is really beautiful there. Some of my feedback (I am not sure on the next pages what space I will have to write), this is for the North and South trips. - I think the camel ride into the desert should be more optional. Many people were upset as the ropes which turn the camel are frayed ropes through their nostrils, and if the camel in front goes a little faster and their nostrils and heads get pulled. If people are told, “we are going out to the desert to stay the night, you can ride on a camel or walk the 1 or 1 1/2 hours alongside them which will be the same walking pace as the camel guides”. - I think Pushkar is a waste of time. The city is not nice and far from holy. I think the time could be spent better elsewhere. - If we arrive at a location at 1pm, and we are told to meet at 4pm for an orientation walk, then dinner after that. A lot of time is wasted here and there. I think once people arrive in a hotel from an overnight train or car of whatever that they have 1 hour max for a shower then be ready to go to start the trip, if people are tired then they can nap and catch up later. There were quite a few hours here and there which could have been spent seeing the town. This was both in the north and south. - The hotels need a bit of a reminder to keep the linen cleaner, there were some dirty laundry being given out which isn’t nice. - Tuk Tuks should have one male in each one if the numbers work. And the members be told, “we are going to Hotel.....” so that is they have trouble with the driver that they are able to find their way there. - Healthier food options being available would be good. Maybe some of the 3,600 Rupees could go to getting a pineapple or watermelon rather than our dinner be biscuits and chips on the train platform. - My tour works out to be 3,600 Rupees so each day I look at that and see if I see I have got value for money. If it is a free day and I don’t see the tour leader or just for dinner and we paid for all of the activities ourselves then I wonder where my 3,600 Rupees goes. I know there is admin and advertising etc, but when we stay in accommodation which is not great and we share rooms then there is a big hole where I am not getting value for money. - I think in the first group meeting that the leader gives everyone some paper and asks them what their hobbies are. Then if there are photographers, craft type people, car fanatics, museum fans, that along the trip there can be extra things that can be customised to their hobbies/interests in the free days. - Maybe more effort could be put into each day we learn a new Hindu or local language phrase or word so that we learn more. - That on sleeper trains that people are placed together. Getting no sleep because babies are screaming all night or creepy men are staring at girls. We all have similar sleep patterns and where we get in and off so life is easier and safer if we are together. This is one of the things that angered people with sleeper trains. - That we get options for eating dinner or lunch. The restaurants at the hotels were expensive and that was a bit annoying as many people expect India to be cheap. Just because it is cheaper than our home country, doesn’t mean that is good, it should be lots cheaper. - If the tour is in areas where there are electric tuk tuks rather than petrol ones, supporting that concept where possible would look more environmentally friendly. - Maybe encourage the hotels to be more environmentally friendly. We went through a lot of water bottles and maybe say to them, “we will choose you as you recycle bottles” or similar. - something for techie dept. a Dropbox style thing for people to share and download group photos and it is active for a month or two after the trip. We did a lot of Air Dropping which is fine for Apple users but not for Android folk. - More time should be spent in Hampi, it is great there. I think this is most of what I had in my mind. I am sure I will think of more. But I enjoyed the trip. I think there is an end of tour curse as many people get sick on the last day, I was very sick in the Maldives afterwards, not good. Don’t know if this can be prevented.

South India Revealed

Another winner for me on this Intrepid tour. It's a completely different vibe from the hustle and bustle of the North and the majestic wonder of the forts and palaces. The South is about relaxing but there is plenty to see by way of history and culture. Trust me the South has much to offer outside of its beach scene, there is plenty of rich culture and history to explore, the Ghandi memorial museum in Mysore is a must see and the ruins of Hampi are too breathtaking to explain here. The temples are a wonder to see in Kerala and Mysore - full of colour and lights, if you go try and see if you can experience it during a festival to really see the community come alive (be warned though this is also an extremely busy time to go - October to March). The other extreme beauty comes from the natural beaches in Varkala, the backwaters of Kerala and the fun chill out scene of Goa. It's an eclectic mix across the whole of india, but you tend to hear of the Northern regions more. Our guide Mohsin Ali was brilliant. Patient, calm an embodiment of the soothing south.

We had a very interesting tour with an excellent driver (Mr Anthony) who made us comfortable and very knowledgeable guides everywhere we visited. Our favourite Hotel was in Mysore although all were good and the visit to Halebidu was probably my highlight as the temples were magnificent with such elaborate carvings. Goa was not as relaxing as I imagined. We enjoyed the beach but didn't want to lay in the sun too long so other than shopping we didn't find it as attractive as we had expected. Overall all it was a very good introduction to a country we had not visited before. The arrangements for meeting the drivers and guides worked well for us despite us arriving and departing before/after the 11 day tour so thanks to Linda and other support staff this worked well.

The toy train ride to Coonoor was a unique experience and the tea plantations were a treat for the eyes. The stay at a cozy homestay in Coorg was one of the highlights of the trip. The hospitality of the hosts and the delicious home-cooked meals made us feel right at home. The backwaters of Alleppey were another highlight of the trip. We cruised along the tranquil waters on a houseboat and were mesmerized by the beautiful scenery and the local way of life. The stay at a luxurious beach resort in Kovalam was the perfect way to end the trip. The golden sandy beaches and the calming sound of the waves made it a perfect romantic getaway. The best part about this tour package was that it was all-inclusive, which meant that we didn't have to worry about anything. All our accommodations, meals, and transportation were taken care of, making it a stress-free vacation. Overall, the 22 Days Romantic South India Tour Package from Chennai was an amazing experience. I am glad that I signed up for this tour rather than striking out on my own as I normally do in most countries in Asia. The tour operators, Garima and Manish have been very helpful. Even though this is a 'budget' tour, the hotels I stayed at are *** hotels and they are so much better than Days Inns or Best Western in the States. 9 days was just perfect to see the sights in New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Ranthambore National Park. I would not stay longer as I can only eat so much curries

What people love about hampi tours.

The Trip exceeded our expectations. We were lucky to have Jeshin as our tour Guide. He was well informed and was pretty clear with setting expectations about our BasiX tour package. We got a true cultural experience that included travel within India on Private Bus, Trains, Tuk-Tuks, Ferry and State Transport Bus. We even rode an Elephant in Periyaar. With the right attitude and patience, this is a rewarding tour. The food was exquisite in most cities (you should explore local options). Jeshin gave us multiple options in most cities. We enjoyed Trivandram, Kochi, Varkala, Hampi & Mysore. Mysore Palace was so crowded due to the Dec Holidays, we probably should have skipped it. The Mysore Silk saree shopping and eating at Mylaree & 'Frosting' made up for it. Hotels and Homestays in most places was pretty good. I think Mysore was probably the only bad one since there were so many choices, Interpid could do better. Hotel in Hampi was the best. The only complaint we have is regarding the Periyaar Sanctuary. That day could have been planned better by Intrepid. If they had made advance reservations when we were in Varkala, we would have been able to do the Govt Jungle Trips as opposed to private outside the Jungle trips. We didnt have any tickets left, by the time we reached Periyaar. We did d teh Kerala Martial arts, which was good, but left a sore spot about missing the jungle trek. Overall a really nicely planned tour and well worth its shoe string budget cost. Enjoy!!! we did :)

I booked this trip online through Travelcon for 10 Days South India Temple Tour from Australia. My Australian travel agent was a different one but he gave me +91 9758823555, Hemender Singh who was contact for any travel related issues during the trip in India. It was an amazing 10 Days tour and all the person I met during the trip were awesome. Even they were guides,Driver, people at different hotels. Hemender was awesome,quiet helpful and he always checked with us to ensure that everything was doing good.I felt that cities in India are much safer to travel.We really enjoyed interacting with the people unless you can understand their English well because of different accent. I would highlyrecommend "Travelcon" for other visitors also.

•    Hospet Located in close proximity to Hampi, Hospet is another popular historical getaway for tourists. It is believed that the great King Krishna Deva Raya of Vijaynagara dynasty built this city in honor of his mother. It derived its name from ‘Hosa Pete’ meaning ‘New City’. It is home to renowned attractions like the Tungabhadra Dam, Hazara Rama temple, the Royal Palace, the Archaelogical Museum and many more.

•    Hassan Noted for its natural splendor, Hassan is a treasure house of Hoysala’s architectural brilliance. It is believed to be named after the goddess Hassan-amma or Hasanamba. Its top sightseeing spots are Gorur Dam, Shettihalli Church, Hoysala temples, Bhagwan Bahubali Statue, and Lakshmi Narsimha Temple.

•    Badami Formerly called Vatapi, Badami is a valley of rugged red sandstone comprising of architectural treasures in the form of rock-cut cave temples. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has four cave temples, three Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Nataraja and Lord Vishnu and one Jain temple dedicated to Lord Mahavira. In addition to temples, the serene Agastya Lake,  the Badami Fort and the Badami Archaeological Museum are worth an exploration too.

•    Hubli Hubli is the commercial, educational and industrial hub of Karnataka. This city is home to a religious mix of Hindus, Jains, Christians and Muslims. It hosts various festivals with Ganesh Chaturthi becoming the most widely-celebrated festival. Its most popular attractions are the Unkal Lake, Sidharoodha Math, Indira Gandha Glass House Garden, Chandramouleshwar Temple and Nrupatunga Betta.

Hemakuta Hill

The Hemakuta Hill is one of the most popular spots in Hampi tour packages. This hill has 30 different temples with cisterns, gateways and pavilions. Ganagatti Jain Temple

Vithala Temple

Cancellation Policy & Payment Terms

• If the Guest decides to cancel the tour for any reason whatsoever then s/he shall give a written application to the Company within specified time limit along with original receipt issued by the Company. Such cancellation will attract cancellation charges stated hereunder.
• Cancellation charges will be calculated on gross tour cost and the cancellation charges shall depend on date of departure and date of cancellation
• Cancellation charges for any type of transport ticket are applicable as per the rules of the concerned authority.
• Air tickets issued on special fares are NON REFUNDABLE and Guest shall bear cancellation charges.
• Any refund payable to the Guest will be paid after the Company receives refund from the respective authorities. The Company deducts processing charges from the refund to be paid to the Guest.

Payment Terms

• Airlines/Room up-gradation and complimentary will not be entertained during the tour unless if specified at the time of booking.
• There is no refund for any services not utilized during the tour.
• Security deposit is required either in cash or credit card by hotels which is refundable provided no room incidentals are incurred. This security deposit is not included in this quote and must be paid by the guests/corporate directly to the hotel when checking in.
• Guests are advised not to keep valuables in the coach/vehicle while sightseeing. The Company shall not be responsible for loss of valuables from the coach / vehicle . If the coach / vehicle is accidentally or otherwise damaged by the Guest, s/he will be required to pay compensation for the same.

• 1.The Corporation undertakes no liability in case of cancellation of trips due to breakdown or for reasons beyond the control of the management. However, proportionate refund of fare will be allowed in case of no alternate arrangement is made. During the course of operation of tour, if any sightseeing places are missed on account of sudden unforeseen happenings, the KSTDC is not responsible.
• 2.Incase of any issues related to booking of ticktes, preponement/postponement of tickets  or cancellation of tickets kindly send the mail to [email protected]
• 3.Tickets are not transferable.
• 4.Management is not responsible for luggage/baggage and Personal belongings of the tourists.
• 5.Tourists are requested to take personal care about their Luggage/Belongings.
• 6.The management reserves the right to cancel the trip in case the numbers of seats booked are less than 12 and for any such other reasons.
• 7.The ticket is valid for the particular journey to which it is issued.
• 8.Children above the age of 5 years will be charged full fare. No seats will be given to children below 5 years. (Age proof Required)
• 9.Passengers are requested to report 15 minutes in advance. The bus will not wait for passenger who arrives late.
• 10.Smoking and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the coach.
• 11.Purchasing articles from other than Govt. shops is at their own risk.
• 12.The Corporation shall neither be responsible nor refund the amount in case the tourists miss the bus on account of late reporting to the pickup point.
• 13.Tipping the staff including the Guide is strictly prohibited. They are paid by KSTDC except for BHS trip.
• 14.Pets and Animals not allowed inside the bus while on Journey.
• 15.The management has all the right to make the passengers to get down from the bus, who are travelling on invalid tickets, disturbing the co-passengers & drunken passengers, without any refund.
• 16.No postponement of journey will be made within 24 hours. There is no refund on cancellation of one time Preponed/Postponed ticket.
• 17.Tariff is subject to change without notice.
• 18.Accommodation is subject to availability of the rooms and they are subject to change without prior notice.
• 19.Senior Citizens are provided with 20% discount on transportation by default while booking ticket. Hence they must produce valid proof.
• 20.The management shall not be liable for third party suppliers including arrangements with accommodation providers, activity providers and local guides and other independent parties (Third party suppliers) to provide you with some or all the components of your bookings.
• 21.The management shall not be liable and will not assume responsibility for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointed, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental, resulting from the act or omission of any party other than Tour Operator and its employees.
• 22.The management resources all the right to update or alter their terms and condition at any time, and will post the amended terms and condition in the tour package.
• 24.The package tour tariff includes only accommodation and transportation costs, the other charges like food, entrance tickets, etc.. should be borne by tourists themselves.

Special Terms and Condition for Tirupathi Packages

• Piligrims are mandatory to produce either the vaccination certificate(2doses) or Covid-19 negative certificate obtained with in 73hrs prior to date of darshan at the time of availing special entry darshan.
• Piligrims to be noted that due to the new guidelines imposed from Tirupathi Tirumala Darshana there will be no cancellations or any modifications allowed before 7 days of departure.
• Piligrims to be noted that the data of the tickets booked for Tirupathi darshana is pushed to Tirumala Tirupathi Devastham(TTD) server 7 days in advance before the date of journey, there will be no any modifcations/ cancellations allowed for any unforeseen circumstances (like sudden death of family member, any accidentalissues , etc..)
• Rule of Cancellation : Cancellation from the proposed date before 7 days of departure10% cancellation charges is applicable. No cancellations or any modifications allowed before 7 days of departure.
• Cancellation from the proposed date before 7 days of departure at 10pm, cancellation charges of 10% would applicable as per cancellation policy.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Bangalore - Hospet

Our representative will pick up you from Bangalore and drive to Hampi. The city of Hampi, situated on the banks of Tungabhadra river in Bellary district, is an important historic and architectural site. Hampi is located within the ruins of Vijayanagara, the former capital of Vijayanagara empire and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hampi is known for its gorgeous architecture, preserved temples and monuments, palaces and market streets. The major attractions of Hampi include Virupaksha Temple, Hazara Rama Temple Complex, Krishna Temple Complex and the Vittala Temple Complex. On arrival at Hospet, check in to the hotel and time permits, at leisure or visit Tungabhadra dam built arcoss Tungabhadra River. Overnight stay in the hotel or resort.

Day 2 : Hospet - Hampi - Hospet

After Breakfast, drive to Hampi for Sightseeing (Virupaksha Temple, Kadale Kalu Ganesha, Sasive Kalu Ganesha, Krishna Temple, Lakshmi Narasimha, Badavi Linga, Sister Stones, Underground Temple, Mint House, Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stables, Hazara Rama Temple, Palace Area, Mahanavami Dibba, Queen's Bath). After Lunch visit Vijaya Vittala Temple (Stone Chariot), King's Balance, Purandara Mantapa, Old Pillar Bridge and evening return to the hotel and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 3 : Hospet - Kudalasangama - Aihole - Pattadakal - Mahakuta - Badami

Morning after breakfast, check out the hotel drive to Kudalasangama, the Aikya Mantapa or the sacred Samādhi of Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayath faith along with Shiva Linga, which is believed to be self-born (Swayambhu), is here. Then proceed to visit Aihole, a popular tourist destination on the banks of Malaprabha river and well-known for Chalukyan architecture, with about 125 stone temples dating from 5th century CE. Aihole is acclaimed as the cradle of Hindu temple of architecture. Pattadakal Then visit Pattadakal, a world heritage site, well known for bears testimony to the richness of Chalukyan Architecture. Worth visiting are the 8th century temples of Jambu Linga, Kada Siddeshvara and Galaganatha with their curvilinear sikharas or spires. Then visit Banashankari (Banashankari Temple), Mahakuta (Mahakuteshwara Temple) and finally drive to Badami. Badami was formerly known as Vatapi, was the regal capital of the Badami Chalukyas from 540 to 757 AD. Badami is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rock hills, the exquisite sculptures and the Red Sand stone cliffs of Badami tell many a tale of yore. On arrival at Badami, visit famous rock cut structural temples. Evening, check-in to the hotel and overnight stay at the temple.

Day 4 : Badami - Chitradurga

After breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Chitradurga. On arrival at Chitradurga, check in to the hotel and afternoon visit historical Chitradurga Fort. The Fort was built in stages between the 10th and 18th centuries by the dynastic rulers of the region. The Chitradurga fort is built in a series of seven concentric fortification walls with various passages, a citadel, mosque, warehouses for grains and oil, water reservoirs and ancient temples. Evening, return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 : Chitradurga - Halebid - Belur - Hassan

Morning after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Halebid, a regal capital of Hoysala empire during 12th - 13th century. Halebid was earlier called as Dwarasamudra and later got its name as Halebid (the old city) because it was plundered two times during the invasion of Malik Kafur. The Hoysaleswara temple was built during this time by Ketamala (around 1121 AD) and attributed to King Vishnuvardhana, the Hoysala ruler. It is believed to have been completed around 1160 AD by Kedaroja, the chief architect of Vishnuvardhana's son and Successor Narasimha I (1142 - 1173). Visit the beautiful temple complex which comprises the Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temples and two Jain basadi. Belur Then drive to Belur, the earlier capital of Hoysala Empire and located at a distance of 16 Km from Halebid. The main attraction in Belur is the Chennakesava temple, containing the Chennakesava Temple as the center piece, surrounded by the Kappe Chennigaraya. There are two shrines at the place that are still in use by devotees. The Dravida style rajagopuram at the entrance was a later added by the Vijayanagar kings, who considered this deity as one of their family god. The temple is one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture, built by king Vishnuvardhana in commemoration of his victory over the Cholas. Inside the temple are a number of ornate pillars. Darpana Sundari (Lady with the mirror) carved on walls of Belur Temple is one of major attractions in the complex. Evening, check-in to the hotel at Hassan and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 : Hassan - Shravanabelagola - Srirangapatna - Mysore

Morning after breakfast, check out the hotel at Hassan and drive to Shravanabelagola, nestled by the Vindhyagiri and Chandragiri hills, protected by the monolith Bhagawan Bahubali and home of 2300 years of Jain heritage. On arrival, visit the major attraction of Shravanabelagola is the magnificent 57 feet tall monolithic statue of Gommateshwara Bahubali located on Vindhyagiri hill. It is considered to be the world's largest monolithic stone statue. The base of the statue has an inscriptions in Prakrutha i.e., devnagari script, dating from 981 AD. The inscription praises the king who funded the effort and his general, Chavundaraya, who erected the statue for his mother. Then drive to Srirangapatna, historic capital of Tippu Sultan, where you can find the magnificent monuments and historical temples. On arrival, visit Sri Ranganatha Temple, Mausoleum of Tipu Sultan (Gumbaz), Tipu Summer Palace. Then drive to Brindavan Gardens, a popular picnic spot laid out below the Krishnarajasagar Dam on the Kaveri River. Then drive to Mysore, the city of palaces. check in to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 : Mysore - Bangalore

Morning, after breakfast check-out the hotel and proceed for half day sightseeing at Mysore. First, visit Chamundi Hills, a picturesque and popular tourist attraction of Mysore. An ancient temple dedicated to goddess Chamundeshwari is located on the top of the chamundi hills. Then visit Mysore Palace, one of the most visited monuments in India. The palace is built in Indo-Saracenic Revival style of architecture and splendid example of royal architecture. The palace is also known as Amba Vilasa Palace. Then visit St. Philomena Church, a Catholic church built in 1936 to honour of St. Philomena in the Diocese of Mysore. The church is built in a Neo Gothic style and its architecture was inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. After lunch drive to Bangalore. On arrival at Bangalore, you will be transferred to the Airport or Railway station or Hotel. Trip ends with the delightful memories of Hampi – Badami - Chitradurga – Belur – Halebid – Shravanabelagola – Shrirangapatna - Mysore Tour Package.
