If you are going to IGI Airport, please note that the destination point (Haryana Roadways) is Public Transport Centre near Centaur Hotel. From there, you can board a free shuttle bus service operated by GMR, which goes to T3 as well as T1 or take a taxi. To find out whether shuttle service operates late at night, call +91-124-3376000/4797300 - IGI Airport Inquiry line. Public Transport Centre is about 2.5 km from T3 departure and about 7 km from Terminal 1.Shuttle bus service runs every 20 minutes.

• In Una, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced the imminent launch of an HRTC bus route connecting Una to Vrindavan. Haryana Roadways has resumed its bus transport services for selective cities. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to book bus tickets online. Read more.

The Haryana government has announced that it will be resuming government transport services on selected routes while strictly following social distancing guidelines issued by the Union ministry of home affairs. However, for travelling, the passengers will mandatorily have to make online booking of tickets and wear masks while during their journey. 

The government buses will provide services only on selective routes. The buses will start functioning from depots in Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kaithal, Karnal, Narnaul, Panchkula, Rewari, Rohtak and Sirsa and ply on select point-to-point routes. Notably, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar are among the worst Covid-19 affected districts in Haryana. The limited number of buses have resumed operations from May 15 in the state on an “experimental basis.” If you are wondering how to book tickets online for Harayana buses, here is all you need to know about the Haryana roadways online booking-

Haryana Roadways online ticket booking process

• Bookings for these limited buses can be done through the online portal of Haryana Roadways eTicketing online portal -  ors.hartrans.gov.in .
• Once you open the site, choose which type of bus you want to ride i.e Volvo or Ordinary.
• Then choose the place where you want to start your journey from i.e. Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kaithal, Karnal, Narnaul, Panchkula, etc.
• Then select your destination in the "Departing To" column, you will be provided with options i.e. Gurugram, Panchkula and more as per your leaving city.

• Choose your date of journey or departure and click on "Check Availability."
• Once you find a bus with the required vacancy, click on "Book Now" on the right of the same section.
• Now, the bus map will appear with available seats in the vehicle. Select your preferred seat and click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen. 
• Once you have selected the seats, provide basic booking details such as Full Name, Email Address, Mobile Number and your ID Proof Number (Aadhaar Card Number or others).
• Below, fill in the details of the passengers travelling in the book bus. The details include Passengers' names, gender and age.
• Click on the "I Agree" button below. Fulfil the online booking process by purchasing the ticket online.

Three years on,project to book Volvo tickets online bites the dust

It was in september 2006 that the haryana roadways had proposed an online booking service for volvo and other deluxe buses..

It was in September 2006 that the Haryana Roadways had proposed an online booking service for Volvo and other deluxe buses. Three years hence,the authorities are still “working on the modalities”,while passengers wait for the implementation of the project that was seen as a step in adoptiing technology for public convenience.

The officials,while claiming that work on the project is in its advanced stages,refuse to confirm a date by which passengers can expect the service.

“Though the proposal is in its advanced stages,due to technical issues,the service is taking time to become operational. For the financial modalities,clearance from the Finance department has been obtained,” said Sameer Mathur,Finance Commissioner and Principal Secretary,Aviation and Transport.

The Haryana Roadways had called for proposals from various public and private banks for a tie-up for the financial services,the final decision on which is pending.

Sources say that unlike the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited ( IRCTC ) that has a tie up with various banks for online reservation,the Haryana Roadways will initially tie-up with a single bank.

Once operational,the facility will enable passengers to make advance reservations in Volvo and deluxe buses — from 60 days to four hours prior to departure.

The passengers will also have an option to choose seats. While reservation charges,announced initially,were between Rs 20 and Rs 30 per ticket,passengers availing of the facility will have to carry an identity proof during the journey.

Karnal, also known as the rice bowl of India, is one of the oldest districts of Haryana. The city has gained importance since Mahabharata era. It is believed that it was founded by Raja Karna, the eldest son of Kunti and hence the city is called the city of Daanvir Karna.

The place got its share of fame in 1739 when Nadir Shah defeated Muhammad Shah here.

The city is known as a walled town. The citadel of old time can still be seen in form of Kot Mohalla (Kot means fort). The fort was built by Raja Gajpat Singh of Jind. The fort was used in many ways as British converted it into a residence for Dost Mohammad Khan, Amir of Kabul, part of it was also used as jail and a school was also running in the fort.

Some of the dignitaries have their association with the city of Karnal. Late Dr. Kalpana Chawla, an Indian-American scientist and NASA astronaut was born in a Punjabi Hindu family at Model Town, Karnal. She also did her schooling at Tagore Baal Niketan, Karnal. The first Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan was born in Karnal.

Today, Karnal is also famous for manufacture of agricultural implements and its spares. More than 40% of country agricultural implements and spares are manufactured here.

Location: Karnal is connected through Delhi-Ambala rail line & Sher Shah Suri Marg (G.T.Road) to all important places in the country. It is 123 kms from Delhi & 130 kms from Chandigarh. The Karnal district is surrounded by Kurukshetra District on its north-west, Jind & Kaithal district on its West, Panipat district on its south and Uttar Pradesh on east.
