Andaman has three significant seasons - summer, monsoon and winter, with the surrounding Bay of Bengal lending it a tropical climate round the year. Avoid visiting between July and September, the monsoon months, as tropical storms are very common at this time of the year, leading to long spells of torrential rains and high tides. You could plan a winter visit to the islands, between October and March, when the temperature lowers and so does humidity, lingering between 20 and 30 degree Celsius. You can spend ample time on the beaches, go island hopping and sightseeing and museum- visiting in Port Blair. You can even plan a summer visit, between April and June, as the evenings and mornings are very pleasant with cool breeze wafting in from the sea, though the late-mornings and afternoons remain unbearable with temperature peaking to 37 degree Celsius. Q. Which is the most famous beach in Andaman? A. The Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island is undoubtedly the most stunning beach in the island and should be a part of your itinerary no matter whatever Andaman tour packages you go for. Among the most popularly visited beach in Havelock Island, the Radhanagar Beach is around 11 kilometre southwest of the Havelock jetty with plenty of boats plying to it through the day. The beach is a snowy-white stretch of sand fringing the azure waters. The sky appears a remarkable blue from here and sunsets are the most breathtaking at this beach. Plan an early morning visit when the crowds are leaner. Q. What are the best sites to go snorkelling in Andaman? A. If you are going through Andaman holiday packages with the sole intent of finding some phenomenal snorkelling sites, you wouldn’t be disappointed. Are there direct flights from New Delhi to the Andaman? A. There are no direct flights from Delhi to Port Blair . All flights either have a stopover in Chennai or Kolkata and can take anywhere between 5.5 to 10 hours to get you into Port Blair’s Veer Savarkar International Airport. IndiGo and SpiceJet popularly run flights on this route. Q. Can the Andaman be visited in the summer months? A. Yes, it can be. The presence of the Bay of Bengal moderates the temperature and keeps it pleasant for exploration. The day temperature can get as high as 37 degree Celsius between April and June, so it is better to avoid the peak afternoon for your sightseeing. The average summer temperature is around 24 degree Celsius and ideal to go around Port Blair, Havelock, Neil Islands and Diglipur. Q. Are there cruises to the Andaman? A. There are government-operated ships to the Andaman from Vizag, Chennai and Kolkata, but these are nothing like the fancy cruise liners you would imagine. The booking of these need to be made from the shipping service office of the respective city. How to commute from Port Blair to the other islands? A. There are private ferries that connect Port Blair with Havelock and Neil Islands. Particularly popular with tourists and locals as well are Nico Bar and Seashells Hotel that have live music and poisons of your choice. Don’t expect a discotheque or a night club, but there are ample cosy spaces to spend a nice evening, have a few beers, or a cocktail. The ANDIICO floating restaurant is another spot for a romantic dinner. Sea Sip at Peerless Inn Portico, Pink Fly and Love Garden in Shompen and Waves by the Corbyn Cove Beach are among other popular places to let your hair down. Q. Which is an off season in the Andaman? A. The monsoon months between July and September are the low months in terms of tourism in Andaman. Torrential rains, high tides and frequent storms make it difficult to enjoy the beach or explore the islands. Many places become inaccessible at this time of the year. The wilderness also comes into its own, and there could be more than one spotting of dangerous bugs and insects. The ferry service is affected - cancelled too more often, the seas are swollen and unfit for a swim far less diving and snorkelling. All activity on the island virtually comes to a halt in the monsoon. You must avoid planning a visit in this season. Q. Is Long Island a must-visit place? A. Part of Middle Andaman, Long Island is a unique place with stunning stretches of sand and non-motorable roads. For the touristy type, this may not be an ideal place because of the lack of commercialisation and its general slow pace. The only way to explore the island is by walking, besides there is no internet or mobile connectivity. There is a Lalaji Bay Beach, a marble-white sand bar skirting a deep blue sea, the Merk Bay Beach and the Guitar Island that take about a whole day and can be done by hiring a private charter. For bird watchers, backpackers, photographers, and of course certified divers, this place is paradise. Q. How many Ross Islands are there in the Andaman? A. There are two of them by the same name. One is an island pair called Ross and Smith Islands in North Andaman and is a 20-minute boat ride from Diglipur’s Aerial Bay Jetty. The island is unspoilt and perfect for snorkelling or simply swimming in the sea. The second Ross Island is an erstwhile British administrative headquarters, a 20-minute boat ride from the Aberdeen Jetty in Port Blair. This Ross Island has recently been rechristened Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep. You will still find remains from its colonial era, but other than that it is nice and scenic with a small museum. Q. Do Indian citizens need passport to visit the Andaman? A. Indian citizens need not carry a passport for a holiday in the Andaman which includes Port Blair, Havelock, Neil, Little Andaman, Diglipur or Baratang. Bioluminescence:

The Andaman tour offers an amazing and magical night kayaking adventure, off Havelock Island, after sunset. Every swish of your paddle will awaken the phytoplankton in the sea, with their glowing ‘Bioluminescence’ light. Hidden from the world till recently, the Limestone Caves are on the Baratang Island, in the Andaman Islands archipelago. Limestone is a sedimentary rock that is formed under the sea that evolves over time into stalactites and stalagmites, i.e., from the floor to the ceiling and vice versa. The Limestone Caves excursion starts from Port Blair, through 100 km of a lush rainforest reserve. A vehicle ferry will take you from Middle Strait to Baratang Island. Semi Submarine Ride:

The Coral Safari Semi Submarine Ride is ideal, for those who want to explore the awesome marine life, off the coasts of the Andaman Islands, without getting their ‘beaks’ wet. There are no constraints to the depths that the submarine can dive to. As you dive into the waters of the Andaman Islands, you will find colorful coral, hordes of different fish species, large tunas, and manta rays.

The ride is open for all age groups. It is an adventure of a lifetime, especially for kids, and must be a part of your Andaman package. The Barren Island Volcano:

While one cannot set foot on the island, one can dive into the waters around the island, which are considered to be the best scuba diving destination in the world, due to the crystal-clear visibility, an abundance of Manta Rays, and interesting basalt formations.

The Dormant Volcano of Narcondam Island:

256 km northeast of Port Blair is the dormant volcano of Narcondam Island. ‘Narcondam’ is coined from the word of the Tamil language - ‘Naraka Kundam’, or the pit of hell. As per the Andaman Island authorities, it is a wildlife sanctuary and a protected reserve. The Narcondam Hornbill is endemic to the island, along with Narcondam small flying fox and other species of birds and animals. Divers can explore the massive barrel sponges, huge gorgonian fans, and lush soft corals.

The Active Mud Volcanoes of Andaman Islands:

A mud volcano is caused by the eruption of hot mud, slurries, gases, and water from the ground, forming a dome-like mud structure.

In the Andaman Islands, you will find mud volcanoes at Diglipur and Baratang. Both are accessed, via passages through lush green rainforests.

Turtle Nesting:

Close to Diglipur town is the Kalipur beach, which is world-famous, as the nesting site for four highly endangered species of turtles, viz. – Olive Ridley, Leather Back, Hawk Bill, and Green Turtles. The nesting season is October to March. The nesting happens after sunset. Do not make any noise or disturbance, as you will distract the turtles, who could be laying their eggs.

A well planned tour ...Andaman is a beautiful place and Veena world did their best to help us explore... Makarand Ghanekar (our tour manager) was extremely polite and managed everything efficiently. The places the food everything was up-to-date. The chosen resorts were amazing with great ambiance and sea view. Although we faced the issues regarding lizards and insects in our room which created inconvenience for me and my family...but other than that excellent tour and managing. All the best to Veena world...keep it up!😄👍🏻

Itinerary (Day Wise)

Port blair (1 night).

Tour Guests will arrive at Port Blair Airport as per their Scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to hotel. In the evening, we visit Cellular Museum and Cellular Jail, which stood mute witness to the torture meted out to the freedom fighters. History awakens as we visit 'Veer Sawarkar' Smarak and see the light and sound show. Further we also enjoy short Meet & Greet session.

Night Stay in Port Blair

Port Blair – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island (Ross Island) – Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) (2 Nights)

Today we visit Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island (Ross Island). Later we proceed to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) by M V Makruzz Cruise. Swaraj Dweep is known as one of the jewels of the Andaman Islands.

Today we visit Elephant Beach - one of the unique beaches located on Havelock Islands. Here you get a chance to enjoy various adventure water sport activities like Banana Boat, snorkelling, underwater sea walk etc. on your own. Later we we visit Radhanagar Beach - Crowned as Asia’s Best Beach and 7th best beach in the world by Time Magazine.

Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) – Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) (1 Night)

Today we proceed to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) by M V Makruzz Cruise. Shaheed Dweep is known for its magnificent biodiversity, unexplored coral reefs and white sandy beaches. Upon arrival, we visit Bharatpur Beach – One of the best blue water beaches in Andaman.

Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) – Port Blair (2 Nights)

Today we proceed to Port Blair by M V Makruzz Cruise. Upon arrival, we have free time for shopping.

Port Blair – Baratang – Port Blair

Today we enjoy an excursion to Baratang Island (Subject to operation) The island which has dense mangrove forests and rich diversified fauna. We visit Mud volcano - India’s only active Mud Volcano. It is formed by gases and liquids excreted by the earth’s interior. There’s no lava spewed out, but mud in a semi-solid state comes out of the volcano. Later we enjoy a boat ride through the mangrove reserves to the wonderful Limestone caves, to explore stalagmite and stalactite formations which were formed millions of years ago due to the slow deposition of lime on the earth's surface.

Please note: Airline: On group tours, we generally fly well-reputed airlines that are group-friendly. During your air travel, refreshments and meals are provided as per the airline policy. However, we recommend you carry dry snacks of your choice for the flight journey. Transport: For transfers and sightseeing, we use mini coaches, big coaches, or small vans, depending on the respective tour group size. If you wish to have a separate vehicle solely for yourself or your family, it can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability. Sightseeing attractions: Given the current dynamic situation, some monuments or sightseeing places may be closed temporarily without any prior notice; in such cases, every attempt will be made to visit an alternate sightseeing place if possible. Hotels: The hotels on tour are comfortable and have been appreciated by Veena World’s guests in the past. The category of hotels on international tours is a mix of three-star, three-star superior, and basic four-star. Meals: On tour, we provide all meals, from day one to the last day, as mentioned in the itinerary. Breakfasts are generally continental on European tours, whereas, lunches and dinners are Indian OR Indian along with a local dish OR local cuisine, OR at times fast food meals from Subway, McDonald’s, etc., depending on the convenience and ease of execution of the itinerary or the availability of food at the respective destination.

As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.
Always make sure to carry less and light luggage, use a four wheel small or medium suitcase and please make sure that you are carrying only one suitcase per person. This will ensure that you will travel smartly and without any inconveniences.
It is also recommended that you have one cross shoulder bag or haversack for your handy needs which will ensure that you are comfortable at the time of sightseeing and also easy for photography during your tour.
A smart cap/hat and sunglasses are definitely something that you should have in your kit.
Though Veena World provides all three meals, that is breakfast, lunch, dinner and Veena World treats as per the itinerary, you can carry dry snacks of your choice in small sealed packets for munching during air travel or road journeys.
If you are travelling during the monsoon or to destinations where it is rainy, please carry a small umbrella or poncho.
For international tours, please carry a universal adapter for charging your cameras and mobile phones.
Ensure that your clothing and footwear is suitable for the destination you are travelling to.
