Nice PGA Superstore located in Raleigh. Very clean and well organized store. Very well laid out so all merchandise is easy to find. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large selection with very fair prices.

I live in Pinehurst and drive up to Raleigh frequently. It's great to have a PGA Tour Superstore in Raleigh now. Great selection of everything you need for the golf course. The hitting bays for rent have Trackmans which is nice.

For a store that has only been open for three months they don't seem to want to make the customer happy. I ordered a new driver. What I received was a used demo driver. No head cover either. Customer sevice was terrible. Not interested in making the customer get what they paid for. One good point. They paid for return shiping.

Just bought a new set of clubs. Jack Richardson was phenomenal to work with. We could not have had a better experience. He took his time with us, handled every aspect like the pro he is. It's great to see how busy they are, but how their attention to every customer was their priority.

I brought in a driver shaft to be cut down and tipped to fit a 3 wood. The job was not done correctly. They left some of the shaft close to the tip exposed and cut the shaft too short from what I asked for the length to be. I called and was told to bring the shaft in and they would take care of me. Grant Houser and Sean Cosby did just that! They apologized and proceeded to get me a new shaft that was very similar to the one I brought in originally. They put a tip on the shaft and cut it to the exact specifications I wanted. No questions asked! I was very impressed and pleased by their customer service. This is exactly how you do business and treat people! I couldnt recommend more Sean and Grant and the PGA Tour Superstore in Charlotte! Great job guys!

Went to the store and luckily I was helped by Lee. His last name aludes me, maybe Lee Marks. Anyway, I informed Lee of the reason for my visit. My Taylormade Sim2 driveway was making a rattling noise. Lee tested it also, and stated I believe you have a crack and a loose weight inside the head. He immediately called TaylorMade and let them know I purchased the driver 8/20/2022. I was then told by Lee that they had agreed to upgrade me to TM Stealth 2.0. I was shocked. Greatest service I've had from a company and by an employee. TaylorMade for life. Lee Marks great job.

Nice store, clean, but ZERO flexibility. Cant order over the phone with a credit card forcing me to drive 50 miles to order a club. Ridiculous.This is to add to a set of irons I bought from them.

The store is amazing physically but good luck getting a store associate to make eye contact with you let alone talk to you. Was in for a driver and a new set of irons and apparently none of the 20 associates who appear to be randomly walking around could be bothered to help. Other reviews echo the same. Its clear the employees at this store dont care about customers or about making sales. Its a real shame because the location and store amenities are fantastic. Oh well, Ill go somewhere else that can be bothered to have a simple conversation.

PGA Tour Superstore snags space for first store in Charlotte

PGA Tour Superstore will open its first Charlotte location this spring. (Charlotte Business Journal)

CHARLOTTE — PGA Tour Superstore has landed its first store in North Carolina.

The specialty retailer for golf and tennis has signed a lease for a 35,640-square-foot location at Promenade on Providence in south Charlotte.

It will be at 5341 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Suite 200.

The store is expected to open in spring 2022.

PGA Tour Superstore opens in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The PGA Tour Superstore is officially open in Raleigh.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Saturday morning at the new store near the intersection of Wake Forest and Six Forks Road.

Hundreds of people lined up for the big celebration that featured giveaways, prizes, and discounts.

"The PGA Tour Superstore has come to Raleigh, and it's been great chaos since 9 this morning. We've had a lot of people, we gave away over $25,000 worth of merchandise. And now the city of Raleigh finally has a legitimate PGA Tour Superstore to shop at," General Manager Daryl Shore said.

During the event, the store also made a $15,000 donation to the Triangle First Tee , an organization dedicated to fostering positive youth development through sports.

The grand opening celebrations will continue Sunday.

PGA TOUR Superstore opens first store in Charlotte with $30k in giveaways

Spring is almost upon us! To kick off this golfing season, PGA TOUR Superstore , will be opening their first North Carolina store in Charlotte on April 9th. The new 35,640 sq ft location will be located at the Promenade on Providence, 5341 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Suite 200. This store marks the brands 52 nd  and is a part of PGA TOUR Superstore’s exciting year of grand openings across the country.

85% of people playing golf are now playing for health and wellness benefits. With this surge of new golfers over the past two years, beginners and golf enthusiasts in the Charlotte area can now work on their swing in two of PGA TOUR Superstore’s state-of-the-art fitting STUDIOs, as well as nine simulators and practice bays that allow customers to play a variety of virtual courses via multiple simulators. The location will also boast a putting green larger than 2,000 sq ft.

To celebrate the grand opening on March 26th at 9:00am, PGA TOUR Superstore will offer $30,000 in giveaways throughout the weekend including iron sets, drivers, wedges, putters, and men and women’s apparel and accessories. In addition, as part of the long-standing commitment to First Tee, they will donate $15,000 to the local First Tee affiliated branch,  First Tee – Greater Charlotte .

Is golf your favorite sport? It made me want to pick up my golf clubs again after watching a little bit of The Masters. I used to play golf in high school (I was actually on the Varsity Golf Team) but life got in the way and I stopped.

The PGA Tour Superstore in Charlotte is celebrating its grand opening if you enjoy golf and want to buy some new clubs. The store will be open on Saturday, April 16th, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The store is at 5341 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte. At the store, golfers can work on their swing in two of PGA Tour Superstore’s fitting studios. In addition, there are several simulators and practice bays that allow customers to play a variety of courses virtually. You can also expect to see dozens of brands of apparel and footwear and maybe even some deals.

Best Myrtle Beach Golf Courses For Your Buddies Trip

There are three courses at the Myrtle Beach National facility. The gem, though is this one. Arguably one of the best Arnold Palmer designs anywhere, the highlight is “The Gambler” a fantastic risk/reward par 5 that will always be one of your favorite holes (pictured above).

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

On just about anyone’s list of great Myrtle Beach Courses, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is at or near the top of it.  Designer, Mike Strantz was the genius behind “Tobacco Road” in the Sandhills of North Carolina (which just so happens to be my favorite course on Earth).  This, and its sister course are artistic masterpieces.  Now, these are among the most expensive to play, but for an annual treat, so worth it!

True Blue Golf Course

Which leads me to Caledonia’s sister course, True Blue.  Another Strantz gem and again, on the pricier side.  However, it is well worth it with some of the best and most memorable holes in the area.

Grande Dunes Resort Course

For many years, this course for me had the title of “Best Bang for Your Golfing Buck at Myrtle Beach.”  It’s got a little bit of everything:  elevation changes, challenging par 3s, tremendous par 4 variety and some of the finest holes along the Intercoastal Waterway anywhere in the area.  Also, its practice facilities are among the best.

Arcadian Shores Golf Club

My current “Best Bang…” title holder is this course that many drive by on 17 on the way to N. Myrtle and don’t pay a bit of attention to.  Arcadian Shores was purchased by Hilton 7-10 years ago and over that time, millions of dollars have been poured into the course, facilities, and amenities.  The greens and bunkers are always a good method to judge a course by and the consistency of both at Arcadian Shores take a backseat to no one in town.  Plus, on this list, it is among the most economically friendly.

Tidewater Golf Club

I made mention with Grande Dunes of holes along the Intercoastal Waterway.  NO ONE in the Myrtle Beach area can touch the Intercoastal views and holes of Tidewater Golf Club.  Legend has it that designer Ken Tomlinson commissioned a couple of designers to build his course, but none met with his expectations, so he took on the project himself.  And pulled it off.  Tidewater at times feels like Harbor Town in Hilton Head, Pebble Beach, and a fine inland course all rolled into one.  It is beautiful, challenging, a bit pricey, but well worth the experience.

The Dye Course At Barefoot Resort

There are four courses at the Barefoot Resort facility, of them there are two that get my recommendation.  The first of which is The Dye Course.  Designer Pete Dye is a sadist.  Normally, I am NOT a fan of his work.  However, there’s real genius here.  The variety of holes is great.  The variety of trouble you can get into is great.  The protection of this golf course is wind.  And when it’s blowing (hard), this course is a tough day at the office.  However, if you want to be challenged and have an afternoon everyone on the trip will be talking about a year from now, The Dye Course is a must-play.

The Love Course At Barefoot Resort

Davis Love III is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame as a player.  I feel like he’s well on his way to becoming of similar status as a designer.  His contribution to the Barefoot Resort collection of courses is one of my favorites in the area.  Variety is a good word to use here.  I’ve probably played 10 rounds on that course in the last few years and each time I feel like I get to a hole and go, “Oh yeah, I remember this one.  What a great hole.”  I’m not gonna say playing golf at Barefoot is cheap, but research package deals to get a round at Dye and Love for sure.  Two of the best in the area.

Pine Lakes Golf Club

“The Grandaddy” is the one that started it all.  The first resort course in the area and stylistically one of the best.  Just out of respect, you must play Pine Lakes if you never have.  They have just redone their greens and bunkers and both are outstanding.  Now, here are couple of drawbacks.  Fist off, there’s ZERO practice range if you wish to get loose prior to the round.  And two, there is a TREMENDOUS amount of real estate construction going on right now that really takes away from what used to be a really nice visual golfing experience.

The Surf and Beach Club

The Surf and Beach Club is located just across the street (basically) from the Atlantic Ocean in North Myrtle Beach.  It was designed by George Cobb, the same designer behind Quail Hollow Club and Rolling Hills Country Club here in the Charlotte Area.  And, it’s unique on this list as it is a private facility.  HOWEVER, there is public play allowed, and I would suggest you book the experience.  If I was going to play one course-day in, day out-at the beach, The Surf and Beach Club would be the one.

Where to Get Fit: America's Best Clubfitters

Our 2023-24 list of America’s 100 Best Clubfitters, which first debuted in 2011, considers all sorts of facilities that offer clubfitting access to the general public. Those include independent shops, practice ranges and full-service performance centers, large retail stores, resorts, golf courses and national chains. More than 1,000 facilities were reviewed, which included nomination forms that detailed each facility’s resources, tools, expertise and fitting methodolgy. We also conducted a poll of leading equipment-company experts and our nationwide panel of more than 2,000 Golf Digest course-ranking panelists. In addition, for the first time ever, an online poll of Golf Digest subscribers generated nearly 10,000 votes. Those facilities earning the highest marks are highlighted here in two categories: The state-by-state heading lists 100 independent, local operations. Also listed under each state, we include the top rated individual stores for several national brands.

What should you look for in a good clubfitting operation? First, an array of manufacturers to choose from. It’s what is known in the industry as being “brand agnostic.” Second, insist on expertise with modern clubfitting technology. That means launch monitors and other measurement devices that detail what each tweak does to a club’s performance, not just on one hit but for the average of your best and less-than-best strikes.

Third, and maybe most important, find the fitter who is asking and listening more than he or she is selling. The right-fitting clubs don’t always require a purchase, but they do require someone dedicated to your best interests.

There is no question fitting has become one of the most important innovations in golf over the last two decades. A recent study by Golf Datatech found that 94 percent of those who've been fit for their clubs 94 percent of those said they were at least “satisfied” with their most recent fitting. Still not convinced that a fitting is right for you? We had some expert fitters whose facilities have been on our Best Clubfitters list every year since its inception, answer a few common questions.

I’m not a good enough player to be fit, right? How can you tell what’s right for me when I don’t make consistent swings?

I love this question!! My first response is how do you know it’s not the equipment that causing the inconsistency? Secondly, I admit the pros should be the most consistent of any golfer but when you watch tournament coverage you can see any pro on any given day guide a ball into the trees, hit one short to the green or even miss a 4 footer. A fitting is not based on one shot with a clubs it is an average of shots. A good fitter should be able to isolate the extraordinary shots, good or bad to ensure you get the right spec for new stix.— Jim McCleery, McGolf Custom Clubs, Waverly, Ohio

If I got fit for my driver by a 100 Best Clubfitter a year ago, is there any reason to get fit for another new driver this year? What if I was fit three years ago? Five years ago?

I believe you get fit when you feel like you are not getting the most out of your equipment. If that’s a year, then yes get fit, but more likely it’s going to be every 3 or 5 years. Sometimes even though you don’t feel you are getting everything from your clubs you truly are and at least the fitting will confirm that, and you can have the confidence that you are playing the very best. That said, over a three week period last year, we tested every piece of new equipment with 20 golfers varying in handicap most of whom had recently been fit. We found that in each category: driver, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, and putters, there was always one piece of new gear that provided an improvement over a golfer's existing equipment.— Nick Sherburne, Club Champion

Why would I not choose the driver that produced the single longest hit of all the clubs I tried?

Golf is not a home run sport. Example my longest driver A is 280 and my average drive is 250. With driver B my longest drive is 270 but my average is 260 I will give the player Driver B all day. But more importantly what is the dispersion, drives that land in the fairway consistently, roll father and make the game easier. Launch monitors give the same roll to the shots that go straight and the one’s that would have gone out of bounds. — Woody Lashen, Pete’s Golf, Mineola, N.Y.

I know my specs, know what I like. What are you going to tell me that I don’t already know?

A lot!! First of all are you aware that your “specs” may or may not apply to specific clubs you are looking to purchase. “Specs” are not the same from brand to brand and even within the same manufacturer depending upon model the “Specs” may not be the same. As such, I could tell a prospective fitting customer “a lot” that thinks they know their “specs”, but better than tell them I could show any player within a few minutes how their “specs” may not be what they actually want to purchase. Moreover, even if they think they know what they like—have they tried everything to know for certain that what they think they like is actually what is right for them. There are so many different models and aftermarket shafts that it is unlikely a player who thinks they know what they want has actually tried other models and/or shafts that might be even better for them. — Craig Zimmerman, Redtail Golf Center, Beaverton, Ore.
