8/5 my God. 16/10 A++++++++++++++++++++++++

Only complaint; was 5 hours was too short. My life has peaked, I’ve never felt so in the moment and loving life then at this club and listening to Kygo. He’s my all-time favourite artist with Avicii. His music is phenomenal and listening to all of his songs, mixed with a bit of sweetish house mafia and a bunch of other Prem songs was off the wall. (Don’t stop believing by Journey, wild)

This was definitely the highlight of my life. I really want the chance to experience this again.

Kygo. You are fucking amazing, man. You’re musics got me through some rough shit in my life, and I wish I could return the Respect.

I’d rather meet you, then any other person in the world or win the lottery or like have a nice car.

You’re an inspiration. Keep doing what you’re doing with music. I can’t wait to see you live again

5th time we have seen Kygo at Ushuaia since 2016 (first was the day before Aviici performed his last show in Ibiza). The last one we attended was Sunday 12th August 2018, and was by far and away the best one yet.

Frank Walker, The Him and then Lost Frequencies, all worked to build up the atmosphere for when Kygo took the stage at 10pm. We were not disappointed in the slightest and made all the more better because we were privileged to be in the VIP area (on the second row), so the atmosphere coupled with the music and all the lighting effects, just made for a very memorable night.

Sincerely hope Kygo returns next year to Ushuaia because, for sure, we will be there.

And no, I'm not a youngster. I'm in my 60's and simply can't get enough of Kygo's music.

PS. Get Klingande and Bakermat on the same evening as Kygo, as you did in 2016. Then that would simply be the best.

AMAZING! it was my first gig and I went with a friend who goes to about 2-3 concerts a month, he said "thats as good as it gets". See was a nice intro, and then who new that gryfffin could shred. Kygo was amazing, a couple piano/acoustical 100% performances and all kinds of special guests, a good balance between new and old songs, crowd wasn't that hyped though.

Whether behind the piano in his studio or headlining a sold-out festival, Kygo quietly reaffirms his status as a prodigious talent, forward-thinking producer, dynamic DJ, and influential global superstar. The Norwegian musician born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll first introduced himself in 2013 and quietly became one of the most ubiquitous hitmakers in the world. Amassing over 23 billion cumulative global audio and video streams, he has broken numerous streaming records. Kygo earned one of his biggest hits with the multiplatinum “It Ain’t Me” (feat. Selena Gomez), going Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and clocking over 2.9 billion streams worldwide. In 2019, Kygo unleashed “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston and generated another 1.4 billion combined streams/views worldwide and peaked at #1 on Dance Radio, in addition to leaving his imprint on a classic.

He heralded his 2020 critically acclaimed third full-length album Golden Hour [Sony Music International/Ultra Records/RCA Records] with the anthems “Like It Is” (feat. Zara Larsson & Tyga), “Lose Somebody” (with OneRepublic), and “I’ll Wait” (feat. Sasha Alex Sloan). The album has garnered over 2.6 billion streams worldwide. Following Golden Hour , Kygo released his remix of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” to rave reviews. In 2022, after headlining Lollapalooza and Life Is Beautiful, along with sold-out headlining shows at Madison Square Garden and Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadion, Kygo surprised fans with the release of his fourth album Thrill Of The Chase [RCA Records]. The album featured notable singles including “Dancing Feet” (feat. DNCE), “Woke Up In Love” (with Gryffin feat. Calum Scott), and “Never Really Loved Me” (feat. Dean Lewis), amassing over 1 billion streams worldwide and debuting in the Top 5 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. This year, Kygo continues his run of stunning collaborations, teaming up with Ava Max for his latest single “Whatever,” which the pair performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! .

Kygo Announces 2025 Australian Tour Dates

Kygo is set to return to Australia two years after he co-headlined Palm Tree Music Festival with Dutch DJ Tiësto.

More Kygo

Norwegian producer and DJ Kygo is returning to Australia in March 2025, just two years after he co-headlined Palm Tree Music Festival with Dutch DJ Tiësto .

The Kids In Love hitmaker has found great success in Australia, scoring over 360,000 spins on the radio and earning ARIA accreditation—he has gone 22 times Platinum and 14 times Gold in Australia, as well as two Gold albums.

Some of Kygo’s hits include remixes such as Higher Love originally performed by Whitney Houston , What’s Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner , Never Really Loved Me with Australia’s own Dean Lewis , and Whatever with Ava Max , which interpolates Shakira ’s Whenever, Wherever .

It’s nearly time for Australia’s fans to hear Kygo’s hits, with the DJ announcing two dates in Australia as part of his World Tour. The tour dates also arrive after the producer released his self-titled fifth album in June.

Playing to Aussie fans in March 2025, Kygo will perform at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Friday, 7 March, and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday, 8 March. He’ll be accompanied by two special guests: Australia’s own Stumblin’ In hitmaker CYRIL and American DJ XANDRA .

Mastercard cardholders will be first to find early access pre-sale tickets starting from 12 pm AEST on Tuesday, 3 September. You can visit the Priceless website to find more information.

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

The next pre-sale will be available for Live Nation members from 1 pm AEST on Thursday, 5 September. The general sale begins at 2 pm AEST on Friday, 6 September. More ticketing information is available on the Live Nation website .

In a review of Kygo’s performance at Palm Tree Music Festival in Brisbane, The Music ’s Ray Shindo complimented the DJ on his “versatility” and said of the “highlight of the set”: “Australian singer  Conrad Sewell  emerges through the golden fog. With live strings and Kygo on the piano, the Australian singer starts, ‘I’m a flame, short of fire.’

“We’re immediately back in 2014 when the song was first released, as his mellow yet powerful vocals mesh effortlessly with the acoustic sounds of  Firestone .

“The song then moves into a tropical EDM mix, Conrad still singing. The audience claps to the beat, and Kygo’s memorable set comes to an end with an explosion of red streamers.”

Pope Francis Departs Rome for 12-Day Tour Across Southeast Asia

Reuters

By Joshua McElwee

ABOARD THE PAPAL FLIGHT, Sep 2 (Reuters) - Pope Francis left Rome on Monday for Jakarta, where the 87-year-old leader of the global Catholic Church will start an ambitious 12-day tour to four countries in Southeast Asia.

The flight carrying the pope and his entourage left Fiumicino airport for an overnight flight of more than 13 hours to the Indonesian capital.

The pope will be in Indonesia until Friday. He is then scheduled to visit Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Singapore before returning to Rome on Sept. 13.

Francis, who has stressed the importance of environmental issues throughout his 11-year papacy, is expected to urge global action on climate change during the voyage.

Each of the countries on his tour is facing dangers from the warming global climate, including rising sea levels and increasingly severe and unpredictable heat waves and typhoons.

Francis is set to travel nearly 33,000 km (20,500 miles) throughout the visit, and will headline more than 40 events. It is the longest trip yet by the pontiff, who now regularly uses a wheelchair due to knee and back pain and has had bouts of ill health.

He was in a wheelchair as he boarded the flight on Monday, using a mobile lift to gain access to the aircraft.

At a press briefing on Friday, the Vatican said it was not taking any unusual medical precautions for the pope on this trip.

"We are taking the same precautions that we always take," said Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican press office.

Pope, 87, Embarks on ‘Physical Test’ in Grueling Asia Tour

The 11-day trip, a signal that Francis does not intend to slow down, requires nearly 45 hours of air travel and meetings in tropical climates.

Pope Francis waves to a crowd of people surrounding him.

By Emma Bubola

Reporting from Vatican City and Jakarta, Indonesia

Pope Francis left Monday on an 11-day trip to Southeast Asia and Oceania, the longest and among the most complicated of his tenure. It could be particularly challenging for Francis, 87, who has been using a wheelchair and battling health problems.

But the trip, which includes a stop in Indonesia — the world’s largest Muslim majority country — also signals he has no intention of slowing down his outreach to faraway Catholics.

Francis will visit four countries for a total of about 20,000 miles by plane. From Indonesia he goes to Papua New Guinea, then East Timor and Singapore, as he deepens his engagement with Asia, one of his priorities.

The trip will include more than 43 hours of air travel and meetings with local faithful, clergy and politicians in cities with tropical climates or high levels of pollution on the other side of the world from Rome.

“It’s a physical test,” said Massimo Faggioli, a professor of theology at Villanova University, “and a sign that this pontificate is far from being over.”

Why is he visiting these countries?

The pope chose four island nations as he extends his outreach to what he calls “the peripheries,” a term for overlooked, faraway places with small, minority or persecuted Catholic communities. The trip is also one of Francis’ boldest engagements with Asia, a fast-growing part of the world, which the pope has always regarded as a strategic objective.

Francis made a largely secretive deal with China in 2018 for the appointment of bishops, but not all issues have been resolved, as China’s government still exerts strong political control over religious life, said Gianni Criveller, dean of studies at the PIME International Missionary School of Theology in Milan.

While no pope has been able to visit China, Francis has taken trips, such as to Mongolia, that have basically put him on China’s doorstep. This time as well, Mr. Faggioli said, the trip is seen as an attempt to “talk to countries he can’t go to.”

He said the trip also showed Francis’ ambition to make the Roman Catholic Church truly global — drawing attention to areas not traditionally of Christian culture and where Catholicism coexists with other religions, relying on the communities’ devotion rather than on wealth, endowments or a historical hegemony.

Unlike in Europe, the Catholic church in Asia does not “rest on its laurels,” said Mr. Faggioli, and believing is in some cases still an act of resistance.

“He sends a message to all the Catholics,” Mr. Faggioli said. “That the future of the church looks more like these churches in which we are a minority than those in which we are a majority.”

The pope’s first stop, Indonesia, also reflects Francis’ commitment to promoting dialogue between Muslims and Christians. He was the first pope to visit the Arabian Peninsula , in 2019.

He is also likely to urge global action to protect the environment, in a part of the world that is particularly vulnerable to climate change, including rising sea levels and severe weather events like droughts and typhoons.

Is the pope too frail for such a trip?

The Vatican originally had considered the trip for 2020 but canceled it because of the pandemic. Despite being older now, the pope is committed to showing that despite his age and ailments he is “still alive though some wanted me dead,” as he once joked .

In recent years, Francis’ health has been a source of concern. Within three years, he underwent a hernia operation, had colon surgery and was hospitalized for a respiratory infection. Last year, he did not attend a summit in Dubai because of health problems.

Still, the pope has been seen walking in recent weeks, instead of using a wheelchair, as he has increasingly done.

In the 11-day trip, he will be accompanied by his medical team (two nurses and a doctor) and, in a first, by his secretaries. Matteo Bruni, the Vatican’s spokesman, said at a news briefing on Friday that no extra precautions were taken for this trip, as the measures they normally adopt were considered sufficient.

Still, the ambitious itinerary for the octogenarian leader of the world’s Roman Catholics inevitably has stirred questions about the impact on his health.

Reporters questioned Mr. Bruni about the 92 percent humidity that the pope would face in Vanimo, a town tucked between Papua New Guinea’s rainforest and the Pacific Ocean. Markus Solo, an Indonesian priest who focuses on interfaith dialogue at the Vatican, said he worried about the impact that Jakarta’s high pollution could have, partly because Francis lost part of a lung to infection as a teenager.

“Hopefully, the government will do something in order to reduce the pollution during the visit,” he said.

The head of the Environmental Service of Jakarta, Asep Kuswanto, said no specific plans for curbing air pollution had been made for the pope’s visit.

Still, it appeared that some measures had been taken to protect the pope’s health. Francis was not expected to visit Flores, a predominantly Catholic Indonesian island.

“His health condition doesn’t permit him to go all that way,” said Father Solo, originally from Flores. “We have to be very prudent.”

Ismail Cawidu, a senior official at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, an important stop on the visit, said that the pope would not tour the inside of the mosque but instead meet other religious leaders at a plaza outside.

Mr. Ismail said they had asked the Vatican if the pope could cross the “tunnel of friendship” that connects the mosque, Southeast Asia’s largest, with a Catholic cathedral but were still awaiting a response.

What can we expect from the trip?

Indonesia has a large Christian population, with a lively Catholic community. The country has been considered an example of interfaith tolerance but is still facing challenges to its image, as extremist Islamic groups have exerted growing pressure on other religions.

The pope’s visit to the Istiqlal mosque will include a meeting with representatives of the country’s officially recognized religions — Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism and Catholic and Protestant Christianity. He will also celebrate Mass at a stadium in the city, where tens of thousands are likely to attend.

Papua New Guinea, where more than 800 languages are spoken, is one of the world’s poorest countries, and Pope Francis “wants to send a message that he can reach everyone, that nobody is too far away,” Father Criveller said. After spending most of next weekend in Port Moresby, the capital, Francis will fly north to the coastal town of Vanimo, and he may address the issue of protecting nature from extractive businesses and the effects of climate change.

In East Timor, Asia’s newest nation and the only predominantly Catholic country on the trip, Francis is to follow in the footsteps of John Paul II, who also visited the conflict-scarred nation. Francis may face questions over the scandal involving Carlos Ximenes Belo , a Nobel-winning bishop and independence hero who the Vatican acknowledged had sexually abused young boys.

In Singapore, an economic powerhouse with a blend of Asian ethnicities and religions, Francis will witness one of the world’s most diverse societies up close, as well as a small but dynamic Catholic community, where the faithful still crowd pews.

Pope Francis begins historic Asia Pacific trip

kygo asia tour

Pope Francis has arrived in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, kicking off the longest and farthest trip of his tenure to the Asia Pacific region.

He is expected to highlight environmental concerns and the importance of interfaith dialogue during the 12 day trip, which will also see him travel to Papua New Guinea, Singapore and Timor-Leste - the only one of the four countries that is predominantly Catholic.

It's a particularly challenging journey for a man who turns 88 in December and has been battling a spate of health issues.

Asia Pacific is one of only a few places in the world where the Catholic Church is growing in terms of baptised faithful and religious vocations.

Parts of the Pope's trip, which was originally scheduled in 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic, will retrace the steps of St John Paul II, who also visited the four nations during his 27-year pontificate.

"Today I begin an Apostolic Journey to several countries in Asia and Oceania," he wrote on X on Monday. "Please pray that this journey may bear fruit."

Since his election in 2013, the Pope has urged the Catholic Church to bring God's comfort "toward the periphery" - referring to communities who are marginalised or far away.

He is only the third pope to visit Indonesia, which has the largest population of Muslims globally.

EPA Pope Francis waves after disembarking from an airplane during his arrival at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During his four days there, he is expected to visit the Indonesian capital's main mosque, meet with outgoing president Joko Widodo and hold a mass for some 70,000 people, according to the Vatican News.

Nasaruddin Umar, the grand imam at the Jakarta mosque, told news agency AP he hopes the visit will offer opportunities to "discuss the common ground between religious communities and emphasise the commonalities between religions, ethnicities, and beliefs".

Observers say the visit to Indonesia highlights the Pope's interest in deepening dialogue between Christian and Muslim communities.

"For the longest time, there [have been] tensions. [Both groups have had] misunderstandings over the course of history," said Jonathan Tan, a religious studies expert at the Case Western Reserve University in the US.

"I think what the Pope wants to do is to do a new way forward, a new way of relating to one another, not a defensive way," he said.

In Papua New Guinea, the Pope will travel to the remote city of Vanimo to meet with missionaries from his native Argentina who have been reaching out to tribal communities.

Miguel de la Calle, an Argentine missionary in Papua New Guinea's north-western-most city, said he hoped the Pope's visit would "significantly boost" ongoing evangelisation efforts in the territory.

People have been travelling from all Papua New Guinea - and even across the border from Indonesia - to see the Pope, he told Vatican News.

"Some have been walking for days due to the scarcity of transportation," Father Miguel said.

In Timor-Leste, the Pope will officiate mass in the capital Dili, on the same seaside esplanade where John Paul II spoke in 1989 to comfort local Catholics who suffered under Indonesia's occupation of the territory. Timor-Leste gained independence in 2002.

The sheen of Pope Francis's visit to the country has dimmed in recent days, however, following revelations that hundreds of homes in the area were bulldozed . Nearly 90 residents were told to find somewhere new to live before he arrives.

The Pope will wrap up his trip in Singapore, in a visit widely seen as an attempt to improve ties with China. Three-quarters of the city state's population are ethnically Chinese, and Mandarin is one of four official languages.

No pope has been able to visit China to date, as relations between the Vatican and the Chinese Communist Party have been strained by disputes over who can appoint bishops in the country.

Both sides are believed to have reached a deal on this in 2018 , which gives the Vatican a say on such appointments.

For the past decade, the Pope has been increasing his engagements with Asia.

Early in his pontificate, he made four long-distance trips to the region: to South Korea, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Japan. Only 0.5% of Japan's population identified as Catholic at the time.

He has also visited Bangladesh, Mongolia, Myanmar, and Thailand.

During his trip, Francis will be accompanied by a doctor and two nurses. Concerns have been raised over the impact of such an ambitious itinerary on his ailing health.

Francis, who has had part of one lung removed in his younger days, had been struggling with respiratory and mobility problems of late - some of which have led him to miss his weekly Sunday blessings .

In November last year, he cancelled his trip to Dubai for the annual United Nations climate meeting because of a lung inflammation.
