Vinetrekker arranged an excellent tour of a mixture of established and newer wineries in the Yarra Valley. It was good to visit some hidden gems as well. Lunch at Yering Estate was excellent and the wine & cheese pairing at DeBortoli was a great ending to a memorable day. Safe & clean, organised, on time – no hesitation to recommend Vinetrekker.

This was a wonderful experience. I attended the tour as a solo guest and I felt very welcome and comfortable. Paul was a great host and ensured his guests comfort and needs were his highest priorities. Paul’s knowledge of the area and its history is exceptional, making the experience even more enjoyable. Not only was the wine tasting an amazing experience (with not one bad wine tasted) the food was to die for. From start to finish all of my expectations were exceeded and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Awesome tour. The company Vinetrekker was proactive and flexible with my pickup and drop off. The tour guide Shane was very friendly and knowledgeable about both the history of the area and wine. The other guests were also friendly which made the trip extra special. We visited a variety of traditional, modern, and edgy wineries for a wide variety of experiences. The landscapes were gorgeous and overall it was a fantastic way to spend a day outside Melbourne. Don’t miss it!

My partner and I had the best time on Paul’s wine tour. Paul was a great host, not only did he drive us from vineyard to vineyard but he knew a lot about the wines, the areas we were in and the different types of wine each vineyard had to offer – to our taste.

The 5 vineyards were amazing and the knowledge from both the sommeliers, Paul (& to our luck a couple of vineyard owners!) made the whole experience even more amazing. Lunch was very good quality and the wine pairing made it even better.

Departing every day from Melbourne, our Yarra Valley Wine tours promise an entertaining, sociable and educational day out. With the help of our expert guides, you will discover the richness of the Yarra Valley’s thriving wine industry.

Our tour takes place in our luxurious, comfortable, air conditioned bus, and although numbers are limited to 24, the typical tour size is 12-20. The tour is great value – here’s what you can expect:

Winery Tour Features

Tasting at the cellar doors at Yering Farm, Soumah of Yarra Valley and Greenstone Vineyards.

An a La Carte Lunch at Balgownie Estate, accompanied by a glass of the wine.

Departs 7 days a week all year guaranteed (except Dec 25 & 26 and 1 Jan)

• 9.15am – 9.45am Collect from designated pick up locations as per list and map further down the page and enjoy a less than 1 hour journey to the Yarra Valley.

Greenstone Vineyards

Greenstone is beautifully situated on a single site in the picturesque Yarra Valley, an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The Winery and Cellar Door, which are nestled in to the base of the Christmas Hills, have unparalleled views of the Estate vineyard and Great Dividing ranges. It is here that winemaking operations are carried out, making Greenstone one of the most progressive wineries in the valley.

Indulge in a guided tasting session at Balgownie Estate tasting table. Make your selection of wine for lunch and take your complimentary glass of wine to the eatery. Lunch includes main meal, a glass of Balgownie Estate wine & tea or coffee.

Yering Farm is one of the Yarra Valleys most charming boutique wineries. It has stunning views, and a delightful sense of heritage. At the Yering Farm cellar door you’ll experience traditionally-made wines, and see the antique copper wine-making equipment used by the Yarra Valley’s pioneer vignerons.

The Yarra Valley cool climate focus allows this winery to specialize in wine styles and varieties typical to northern Italy and south eastern France. With awards for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and a passion for northern Italian varieties, you will be sure to find something pleasing while overlooking the rolling hills of the vineyard and the majestic Warramate Hills.

• 3.30pm Depart the Yarra Valley for Melbourne.
• 4.30pm – 5.00pm Return to Drop off locations.

The buses used for this tour can carry up to 24 passengers. However, to preserve the conviviality of our tours our policy is to limit group bookings to 8.

Groups larger than 8 are welcome on our private groups .

Tour participants wishing to join an existing group booking may not be able to do so if their participation would increase the group size to over 8, but will be accommodated on a separate bus.

Please bring a refillable bottle of water as we strongly encourage drinking water throughout the day.

Children must be at least 5 years of age to travel on this tour, children under 5 years are not permitted on the tour.

About the Yarra Valley wine region 

The Yarra Valley is Australia’s oldest and most respected wine region. Vines were first planted in the valley in 1838 by the Scottish Ryrie brothers, who established Yering Station, which is still operational today. The valley’s cool climate and fertile soils proved to be well-suited to grape growing, and by the late 19th century, the Yarra Valley was producing some of the finest wines in Australia.

The early 20th century saw a decline in the Yarra Valley’s wine industry due in part to the phylloxera epidemic that devastated vineyards around the world. However, the industry began to recover in the 1960s, and by the 1980s, the Yarra Valley was once again producing world-class wines.
