The Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei live event is here! The next Safari Zone event takes place at Da’an Forest Park in Taipei. The event is set to kick off on Friday, October 21st, and it will last for three days, until Sunday, October 23rd, 2022. Among many other activities, you will also be able to complete “a short, event-exclusive Special Research story”. If you’ve purchased a ticket for the next Pokémon GO Safari Zone, you probably can’t wait for the event to kick off and participate in the activities. October’s Safari Zone is taking us to Da’an Forest Park in Taipei. Each day, the event will last from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm local time. As a ticket owner, you will be able to choose a day when you want to participate. Here’s a glimpse of what to expect, as per the official announcement :

“You’ll encounter Pokémon themed around Pokémon Air Adventures, such as Flying Pikachu, Snorlax, and Pachirisu. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Finneon—if you’re lucky!”

Tickets for this event cost NTD$380 (approximately $12 USD), or NTD$520 (approximately $16 USD) for early access.

Ticket holder bonuses include the following:

• +4 Special Trades 
• 50% Stardust discound on trades

• 8 hour Incense and 4 hour Lures
• Increased odds of Buddies finding Souvenirs, as well as a chance for them to obtain the exclusive paper airplane souvenir.

Trainers, Get ready—Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei will take place from Friday, October 21, 2022, to Sunday, October 23, 2022, and  tickets are on sale now ! Trainers who attend the event can look forward to photo opportunities, giveaways, and more. Join us in exploring beautiful Da’an Forest Park and the city of Taipei! In addition to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone festivities, a Pokémon Air Adventures event is coming to the city of Taipei! Trainers who have a ticket to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone event will have access to exclusive gameplay, but some features will be available to all Trainers. Trainers can participate in the Pokémon Air Adventures event from October 21, 2022, to October 23, 2022, no matter where they are in the city! Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei ticket holders will encounter Pokémon themed around the Pokémon Air Adventures, such as Flying Pikachu and Snorlax–they may even encounter Pachirisu, which is usually only found in certain regions. What’s more, for the first time in Pokémon GO, ticket holders will be able to encounter Shiny Finneon—if they’re lucky! General Admission tickets are available now for NTD$380* and will grant access to gameplay within the event space at Da’an Forest Park from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time on the day of your choice. Those who would like to start their adventures early at 10:00 a.m. can opt to purchase an Early Access ticket instead for NTD$520*. Please note: a ticket is mandatory to experience event gameplay, and event gameplay can only be experienced within the designated space at Da’an Forest Park in Taipei.   Safari Zone: Taipei Gameplay Ticket-holding Trainers can look forward to the following features within the event space on the day and time indicated on their event ticket. Get ready— Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei will take place from Friday, October 21, 2022, to Sunday, October 23, 2022, and  tickets are on sale now ! Trainers who attend the event can look forward to photo opportunities, giveaways, and more. Join us in exploring beautiful Da’an Forest Park and the city of Taipei!

In addition to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone festivities, a Pokémon Air Adventures event is coming to the city of Taipei! Trainers who have a ticket to the Pokémon GO Safari Zone event will have access to exclusive gameplay, but some features will be available to all Trainers. Trainers can participate in the Pokémon Air Adventures event from October 21, 2022, to October 23, 2022, no matter where they are in the city!

Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei ticket holders will encounter Pokémon themed around the Pokémon Air Adventures, such as Flying Pikachu and Snorlax–they may even encounter Pachirisu, which is usually only found in certain regions. All Trainers in the city of Taipei can enjoy the following features from October 21, 2022, to October 23, 2022 (GMT+8).

• Mega Latias and Mega Latios will appear in Mega Raids.
• Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently in balloons.
• Pokémon Air Adventures stickers will be available.

Pokémon GO Safari Zone Taipei – Exploration Challenge Tasks & Rewards

Pokémon GO's Safari Zone: Taipei event has kicked off to a fantastic start as Trainers arrive from Taiwan and beyond to interact with fellow Trainers and participate in the event's activities. With many unable to attend the in-person event, developer Niantic has launched a new global event-exclusive Research in-game.

The latest Exploration Challenge features the Water-type Wing Fish Pokémon, Finneon , which Trainers can earn encounters with after finishing the in-game tasks. We've listed the tasks available for the Exploration Challenge and the rewards to obtain in Pokémon GO.

All Exploration Challenges & Rewards In Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei

The latest Safari Zone live event in Taipei has plenty of in-game experiences and gameplay activities with which Trainers can engage. Ranging from Wild Encounters, Raids, and Research tasks , developer Niantic has now also included a brand new limited-time challenge for this event.

A new Exploration Challenge is currently available in Pokémon GO for all Trainers globally, with several tasks on hand to complete. Available from 22nd October 2022 at 8 am local time until 23rd October 2022 at 8 pm local time , completing the tasks will award Trainers XP, Stardust, and encounters with Pokémon .

First reported by a credible Pokémon source, Leek Duck , we've detailed the complete list of all the Exploration Challenge tasks and rewards for Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Taipei:

Exploration Challenge (1/1)

• Explore a kilometer: Finneon encounter
• Explore two kilometers: Finneon encounter
• Explore three kilometers: Finneon encounter
• Explore four kilometers: Finneon encounter
• Explore five kilometers: Finneon encounter

As Trainers can be awarded Finneon encounters when completing the Exploration Challenge tasks, there's a chance that these encounters may also have a Shiny Finneon appear in Safari Zone: Taipei. Likewise, Trainers can evolve Finneon to Lumineon for 50 Finneon Candy should they catch enough Finneon during this event.

Finneon will appear in Wild Encounters in its Shiny form alongside other Pokémon like Unown T, P, and E and the three Pikachu variations exclusive to the event. This event experience is only accessible to those attending the Safari Zone: Taipei event in person throughout the weekend.

To guarantee that Trainers can successfully catch the Wing Fish Pokémon, they should ensure they have enough Poké Balls in the inventory and put their Berries to good use to simplify this process. Lastly, Trainers should visit the various spawning locations to further guarantee encounters with Finneon and utilize a couple of Nice and Curveball Throws for good measure.

The Safari Zone: Taipei event is available to attend in person at the Da'an Forest Park until 23rd October 2022 at 6 pm local time. Similarly, the Halloween in-game event is underway for all Trainers until 1st November 2022 at 10 am local time.

Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, the kicking and punching Pokémon from Kanto, can be found in the wild in Pokémon Go . Yes, both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan can be shiny in Pokémon Go !

The whole Hitmon-family can actually be shiny! You can only obtain Tyrogue from eggs, since it’s technically a “baby” Pokémon, whereas the others can be found just hanging out in the wild, though we don’t see them around in the wild too often.

What is the shiny rate for Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan in Pokémon Go?

As per old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine ), the shiny rate for Pokémon on a regular day is approximately one in 500. Neither Hitmonchan nor Hitmonlee is a confirmed Pokémon that gets a “permaboost” (meaning that it’s a rare spawn and thus gets a boosted shiny rate).

What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?

Not much, unfortunately. It appears to be random chance. Shiny Pokémon catch rates are set by developer Niantic, and they are typically only boosted during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or in Legendary Raids. There are no consumable items that boost shiny Pokémon rates.
